Batsheva, how has life changed since starring on My Unorthodox Life? The biggest change is being able to connect with so many more people on a regular basis. I was doing social media before with a [pretty] large following on Tik Tok, so I was used to people knowing me to an extent. Obviously, it’s significantly larger now! What have you discovered about yourself through filming reality TV? How we—as people—are all really the same; experiences I go through [I hope] can inspire HELLO, SUMMER!THE STAR OF THE NETFLIX HIT MY UNORTHODOX LIFE HAS BECOME ONE OF THE BIGGEST TALKS OF THE TOWN, ALONG WITH HER FAMILY. AND THIS SUMMER, SHE’S JUST GETTING STARTED WITH THE NEXT CHAPTER IN HER STORY. What would people be surprised to learn about filming a reality show? How real it actually is! A lot of people assume it’s fake drama. We really try to focus on what’s going on in our lives. People constantly ask if the pants fight with [my ex] Ben really happened—it did. It truly was a fight that we had a million times. I really didn’t wear pants until I was almost 27. I wanted to for a bit of time and fought with him about it and people are like, that can’t be. But it was. It’s amazing to think about how significant of a moment that must’ve been for you to wear pants for the first time. What were they? They were Paige jeans with a little flare at the bottom. I got them in the Meatpacking District, and I was so excited because they were the first pair I bought myself versus taking from my mom. I’ve learned a lot about jeans since then! This past year marked a lot of change for you and your family. How do you stay strong through tough times? I’m thankful that I have my family and a great group of Batsheva Haart’s Next Chapter Stylists: Dan Nicole, Alix Taylor PHOTOGRAPHY BY HANNAH TURNER-HARTS BY SYDNEY SADICK Makeup: Aneta Grzesiak Hair: Davide Marinelli Photography Assistant: others. Do you feel like you’re starting over right now?

This phase feels like a totally new chapter of my life. I feel like I’ve gone through so many evolutions, and this is the one I’m currently in.

How have you dealt with so much of your personal life becoming so public?

For the show it’s different, but on social media I’m very thoughtful about what I share because I know what I put up will get negative and positive responses. I try to be mindful and know people will have things to say. When it came to my split, I didn’t share anything personal about it but just how I was feeling because I think a lot of people can relate to it.

You got divorced this year. Are you dating?

I am currently out there dating. Nobody in particular yet, but I’m back on the wagon.

Hot girl summer vibes?

I’m going to have my first hot girl summer! I’ve never been single before, so it’s exciting. The most important thing I’ve learned is to really focus on my friendships and have the people I’m dating be an addition. It takes away pressure, and that way you’re just open to opportunities. I go into dates with the mindset of, let’s see where this goes, instead of being in a relationship.

What are you looking for in your next partner?

Someone who is kind, giving, ambitious, possibly an entrepreneur because I like to think of myself as that. It’s nice to relate to somebody. And I want someone who wants to have a Jewish home.

Are you on dating apps?

Yes. Hopefully the summer will change that when people are together more.

Has anyone ever recognized you from the show?

Never. Sometimes I tell them, but not right away. If we go out more than once they’ll connect it, but I haven’t met a guy who’s seen it, and I like it that way.

Who’s your celebrity crush?

Theo James without facial hair.

What’s a piece of dating advice your mom [Julia Haart] has given you?

Have fun, go into things lightly without expectations, and just enjoy the experience. The biggest thing I’m thankful about for my mom, though, is how to make my own money. I’m able to stand on my own two feet, and I was able to make a change in my life without money being a concern because I have my own job. I don’t rely on a man to pay my bills, and that’s a huge thing she instilled in me. She’s all about independence and freedom. Without money, you don’t have that.

You were just starting to get brand deals during Season 1 of the show. How has your role as a content creator evolved since?

I’ve been able

to work with larger brands and have partnerships. I came out with a capsule collection with The Clear Cut jewelry and nail tips with Paintbucket. Proudest brands include Absolut Vodka, Autotrader (I got to work with my sister, Miriam, and talk about relationships), and a holiday campaign with Kate Spade.

What’s one family trait all the Haarts have in common?

Our work ethic. We all work hard, and that’s something my parents instilled in us. If you want to succeed in life, you have to put in the work.

Your family has been compared to the Kardashians. Which sister do you see yourself in most?

I’d love to be

“I have my own job.

I don’t rely on a man to pay my bills, and that’s a huge thing.”

a Kim. She started on social media like I did, and my dream is to have my own line of products and be a family person with kids one day. She embodies all of that.

PLUS! THE HAARTS REFLECT ON BEST MEMORIES WITH BATSHEVA

Julia “One of my favorite memories with Batsheva is when we went to culinary school when she was just out of high school. It was so special to me because I got to spend the day with this extraordinary girl who I am lucky to call my daughter.”

Shlomo “A constant that I know about Batsheva is for as long as I can remember, whenever I’m feeling down or have an issue, I can always count on her being there for me.”

Miriam “When I was a freshman in college I got mono. Batsheva flew across the country to SF to take care of me while I was getting my strength back. She was being the best supportive big sister, and I’ll never forget how she was there for me.”

Robert Brotherton “My favorite memory is from Paris Fashion Week. We were meeting for dinner, and we both walked in wearing the same Fendi top. Luckily for Batsheva, I spilled escargo on mine and had to change before heading to the party!”

What can people expect to see in Season 2 of the show?

The evolution of me being a single woman, something I’ve never done in my life. You’ll see me talk about my divorce, why it ended. We’ll see more of Natalie and Miriam’s relationship this year.

What were your initial impressions of the Hamptons when you first came out here?

My first Hamptons experience was the summer of 2020. We had a house in Bridgehampton. I loved the farmer’s markets and coming from the city with all the fresh clean air and being able to go to wineries.

How do you describe your Hamptons summer style?

My style is different for the Hamptons. I like to wear flowy, floral colorful maxi dresses and patterns and really play up the Hamptons aesthetic. I’m also way more casual. People get dressed up for dinner, but if you’re going “out” you’re wearing shorts and a T-shirt with sneakers; it’s so laid-back.

Will we be catching you at the pool or beach this summer?

I’m a pool girl, all the way! I’m not a fan of the beach; I don’t like sand.

What’s next?

We finished filming Season 2. Now I’m going to be getting into YouTube to create longerformat videos. I’ll share what I eat, what I wear, and other specific topics. And I’m looking forward to time in the Hamptons and summer travel with my family as well. T
