清迈宋干节—— 传统与现代结合的“湿身”狂欢party

The month of April sees the famous Songkran festival take place in Thailand, marking the Thai New Year and the end of the dry season. 每年的4月13日至15日，是泰国最重要的节日——宋干节，俗称 “泼水节”。宋干节就像中国的春节，是泰国新年的开始。

The origins of this festival date back a long time. Many scholars now believe that it takes its roots from the Dtai people, a animist group who still inhabit the northern regions of Thailand, Vietnam and Laos. It is very likely that Songkran encompassed the practice of fertility rites performed to see in the new year. Further historical analysis suggests that more modern versions of the event and mythic interpretations were later introduced by Brahmin priests. 宋干节的起源要追朔到很久以前，很多学者认为，宋干节是起源于居住在泰北地区、老挝的傣泰居民的风俗习惯，后来经过进一步的分析证明宋干节源自印度婆罗门教的一种仪式。

泰北地区也有流传关于宋干节起源自己的民间传说， "宋干"一词出自梵语，泼水节之所以命名为宋干，是因为泰北居民相信，太阳转入黄道星座中的第一宫——牡羊宫，当天代表新一年开始。“宋干”在泰语中意为“移走”或是“换地方”，同时它也含有“跨进新年”的意思。因为在“十二宫图”中这一天是太阳转换位置的时候。“宋干节”同样也被称为“泼水节”，因此许多人相信水可以将霉运冲走。

Northern Thailand has its own folklore and etymology for Songkran. The actual day of Songkran itself is called Wan Sangkhan Lohng, clearly showing the origins of the word as it evolved from the ancient Sanskrit and Pali languages. According to local beliefs, Sangkhan Lohng is the day when Lady Sangkhan will pass through. This is also the closing day of the lunar calendar in Lanna culture.

The Songkran festival itself takes place over four days, with Wan Sangkhan Lohng usually occurring on April 13. In Chiang Mai there will be a parade featuring images of the Lord Buddha, as well as ﬂoats, musicians and Thai people wearing traditional clothing. However, this will not prevent them from getting soaked in water thrown by spectators along the way!

“宋干节”是泰国的传统新年，于每年的四月十三日来临，共历时四天。节日的第一天清迈会有长长的浴佛游行队伍，还会有各种泰国传统音乐舞蹈表演，自发的泼水大巡游，男女老少都醉心于酣畅淋漓的“水战”

Festivities continue for four days and end on April 16, when people gather to pay respect to their elders, parents, ancestors, or those of senior position. The tradition here is to pour scented water onto their hands, and they in turn will bless those participating in the ceremony. This day is known as Wan Paak Bpee. 宋干节到4月16日结束，每个家庭都会聚集在一起向父母、长辈致敬，举行为长辈洒水的仪式。混合香水和鲜花花瓣的清水由晚辈缓缓洒在老人的手里，以吉祥的方式表达。

These are some of the traditional elements of the Northern Thai version of Songkran. There are however some modern additions you may have heard of. Chiang Mai plays host to one of the biggest and most lighthearted water-ﬁghts you will ever see at Songkran. The city comes to a total standstill for three whole days as Thais and tourists, young and old alike, all take to the streets to throw water over each other and wish everyone a ‘Happy New Year’ There is no escape, and you will never have experienced anything like it! 这些只是泰北宋干节传承下来的一些传统仪式，现在清迈的泼水节还融入了现代元素。清迈古护城河边的打水仗的热闹和气势是其他城市不能比拟的。这个狂欢party的盛大节日足够你将泰国“全民娱乐“的精神看个够。每年都会有大量的外国游客和泰国当地人一起度过这个神奇的节日，感受真正的泰国文化。

In these more remote parts of northern Thailand you can feel nature breathing, surrounded as you are by glorious color and mountainous terrain. The air is fresh, the vegetation is blooming, and the temperatures are frequently cooler, especially at the top of the mountain passes. Don’t forget your jacket! One popular destination for visitors is the Su Tong Pae Bridge located in Kung Mai Saak, a village that sits around 15km north of the actual town of Mae Hong Son, just off the Highway 1095. 在夜丰颂，你可以呼吸到大自然的新鲜空气，欣赏到群山环绕的壮观景象，感受到"三季雾都"的魅力，但是山顶的气侯非常凉爽，到这可千万记得带上外套哦！

This bridge is remarkable in its beauty and simplicity, as well as its practicality. Made of bamboo, this 500 meter long walkway is easy on the eye and blends nicely with the picturesque local scenery. Construction was completed under the auspices of Permanent Secretary, Mr.Jittaphat Akkhapanyo, with the help of the general public and especially villagers from Kung Mai Saak. 深受游客喜爱的热门景点苏东佩木桥坐落在夜丰颂以北15公里的一个村庄附近，是泰国境内最长的木桥，共长600米，桥面宽2米。这座木桥是当地居民为了方便僧侣穿过田野出来化缘而出钱出力修建的。每天早上 6:30到7:30，僧侣们都会在木桥上接受信众们的布施，那也是一幅很美的画面呢。

The name ‘Su Tong Pae’ is part of the language known as Tai Yai (spoken by large sections of the Shan people), and it means ‘successful prayer’. Measuring around two meters wide, the bridge affords a navigable pathway for monks on the alms round. It runs across the rice fields and the valley of the Mae Sa Nga river, connecting the temple at one end with the village of Kung Mai Saak at the other. 据说在木桥上许愿非常灵验，因为“苏东佩”的名字在当地少数民族语言中就是“愿望达成”的意思。如果雨季的时候到这里来，绿绿的田野，弯弯的流水，景色迷人！游客们除了可以拍美美的照片，感受大自然外还可以布施做功德呢～

“Love Me Café” is a unique coffee shop with a lovely setting. The owner, Mr. O. and his girlfriend Miss Pang are very helpful and kind, and treat their customers like friends and family. We decided to visit the café and have a talk with the owners. 不得不说，Love Me Café是一家别具风格的咖啡馆，除了爆满的浪漫气息外，有带有一点清新、可爱~欧先生和他的女朋友庞小姐就是这家的老板，两人如胶似漆，待人和善真诚，让我们越发好奇Love Me Café，迫不及待前往想要交谈一番。

Mr. O. created the café as a Valentine’s Day gift for her girlfriend, Miss Pang. He wanted to create a lovely space with a big heart because the world can sometimes be a bit scary. He was sitting at his house drinking coffee when he got the idea to start his own café. Before actually starting the café, he scouted various coffee shops to find out what makes ‘the perfect café’. The complete plan eventually came to him down to the smallest detail, so that even all the trees at “Love Me Café” are purposefully located and planted. The menu and the beverage selection was planned by Miss Pang. She learned all the recipes and started perfecting them. 欧先生说，Love Me Café是他送给庞小姐的情人节礼物，他认为生活中偶尔也可以来一个大惊喜的，因此他为他的爱人创造了这个美丽却又可爱的地方，一个拥有巨大爱心的咖啡馆。欧先生前往了很多家咖啡馆，参观学习，最终他决定在Love Me Café咖啡馆内种上茂密的青树，附上大大的爱心，并由庞小姐来策划菜品，决定菜单，而庞小姐也没有辜负欧先生的爱意，她学习烹饪，创造了许多造型独特、美味可口的餐点。

Even though Thailand has thousands and thousands of coffee shops, Mr. O. is not worried about the future. Mr. O. owns the land and their house is next to the café so they don’t have to pay rent. The actual reason for opening a coffee shop was his own interest in coffee shops. He liked to sit at cafés and enjoy beverages while working. That gave him the idea to start his own café. At that time, Miss Pang was working far from home. Her shifts ended really late, and the drive back home was long and dark, so it was much safer to have her working at home. 从他们的故事中得知，这个咖啡馆的最初由来，是因为庞小姐的工作地点太远，每天来回车程长，而且很晚才能回到家，欧先生心疼爱人，为此建造了这家Love Me Café咖啡馆。而这对爱人的房子就在Love Me Café咖啡馆旁边，既让庞小姐有舒适的生活环境，也不用为咖啡馆的租金费心，相信这也是Love Me Café咖啡馆能够如此悠闲自在的原因之一！

The feedback from the customers of “Love Me Café” has been very positive. They have reached customers primarily via social media. “Love Me Café” welcomes everybody to enjoy their food and beverages. At the moment, there are no plans to expand the brand anywhere else, because Mr. O. and Miss Pang want to keep the place intimate enough so that they can serve everyone with proper hospitality and care. 从与欧先生的交谈中得知，客人们很享受Love Me Café的环境与美食，大家积极互动，让Love Me Café咖啡馆有了不少的名气，客人络绎不绝，但目前，欧先生和庞小姐并没有扩张咖啡馆的意图，因为他们觉得，能在 Love Me Café里相依相偎，平淡幸福才是他们真正向往的生活!
