This is a picturesque location that recently gained extra fame due to the filming here of the motion picture entitled ‘Rak Jang’. Such was the film’s popularity that some people now refer to these waterfalls as ‘Rak Jang Falls’. The watercourses themselves are dramatic and quite stunning. Be careful in the rainy season as the bamboo bridge is often washed away by the torrents of water descending from the mountain peaks. Be sure to bring a strong pair of shoes and and perhaps a spare pair of shorts, as you need to do a short trek to reach the ideal spot for viewing the cascading water. Don’t worry, there are plenty of local guides available to help you out.

Located on the first rise of the Doi Suthep hills, it commands a view of the city as well as the neighbouring reservoir which guests are welcome to walk around. Introduce yourself and your business in Chiang Mai ? I am from Shenzhen, China . After graduating from college, I have been working as a freelancer while travelling in dfiiferent countries for many years . I travelled to Chiang mai during LoiKrathong Festival of 2013, just fell in love with this city. It is the third year now. I run a boutique hotel and art antiques gallery in Chiang mai. The hotel business started in 2014 , it has a traditional Lanna Chiang Mai wooden buildings , quiet beautiful garden and swimming pool , which attracted many Western guests. But started from last year, we are receiving Chinese guests also. Then I opened an antiques gallery on the second year, deal with antiquities decorative items and art collections.

Why did you want to start business in Chiang Mai ? I want to live here, but I do not want to just hang and do nothing. Before coming to Chiang Mai, I ran some boutique guesthouses in some beautiful tourist cities in China, so for me, it is the most convenient choice to continue to run a hotel here. After the hotel began to be stable, I also began to think of things which I really interested about. I have been thinking to do something about my passion of antiquities for years. This comes from my past experience which I spent years travelling around and gaining some of feelings. Doing business in Chiangmai is not just about making a living, but also a way to explore the city by doing fascinating things at the same.
为什么选择清迈呢？ 首先是喜欢清迈，想要在这里生活，但我又不愿意无所事事。 来清迈之前我在中国一些美丽的旅游城市经营过民宿，所以再 继续做酒店行业也是非常顺理成章的事。随着酒店稳定下来， 我开始想做些自己真正感兴趣且拥有持续热情的事情。随着对 清迈的人文、自然、艺术相宜的生活氛围的深入，我越来越确 定我自己对古物的热爱。这也是我过去四处奔波旅居的生活状 态积累下来的深刻体验和资源。对我来说，在清迈做生意并不 是最重要的，而是通过做事情找到在这个城市生活的节奏、同 时带给我稳定的物质条件，从而更好地成长。

What did you do before start business here ? After graduated, I have always been a freelancer , used to work as a columnist , documentary filmmaker , blogger, guest house owner; I also spent two and half years on running a non-profit organization, helping people in Africa, middle east, and southeast Asia. Travel, adventure, explore, write, record, they became the key words of my life. 你来清迈之前都做过些什么？ 我大学毕业后一直都是自由职业，从事过专栏作者 、纪录片导演、经营民宿，也曾经在非洲、东南亚 和中东国家从事过非营利组织的援助工作长达两年 半。旅行、冒险、开拓、写作、记录和开店，成为 了我生活和工作交织在一起的关键词。

What was the first thing in Chiang Mai that got you interested in living and starting business here ? First time I came to Chiang Mai was during LoiKrathong Festival in 2013. Of course I found the city romantic and lovely. But I have been to many places and seen many cities which also romantic , beautiful and lovely. It cannot be the reason which made me consider to stay. If you are looking for a event which make me determined to live here , I would say it is because of a motorcycle accident . I was a fan of motorcycle, I rode a motorcycle, was hit by another one around Thapae Gate. When we both fell on the ground , many people ran over to help us out immediately , help to maintain traffic order , help to translate , contact the police
and so on . Accident and I did not complain to each other, there was no any argument , only the goodwill and reminders. At that moment, I saw a possibility of living here in my mind. 是什么原因让你第一次来清迈就决定留在这里开展 你的事业？ 我第一次来清迈是在天灯节。节日是浪漫的，城市是可爱 的。但是我去过很多地方，浪漫、美丽、可爱的城市见过 很多，清迈的不同大概在于文化多元和人们的包容友善。 如果非要找一件让我下定决心来这里生活的事情，可能是 因为那一次摩托车事故。我是机车爱好者，第一次来清迈 时，我骑摩托车在塔佩门附近被另一辆摩托车追尾。当我 们双双倒地时，跑过来很多人，大家帮忙扶车、扶人、维 持交通秩序、帮忙翻译、联系警察等等。我和事故方并没 有埋怨彼此，也没有纠纷，只有善意和提醒。陌生路人的 帮助也让我非常感动，好像突然就在脑海里看到了旅居此 地的一种可能性。

Why not take the bus in Chiang Mai? 你为什么还不在清迈乘巴士呢? You can now enjoy air-conditioned buses to get around Chiang Mai City. They are very affordably priced and only cost 15 or 20 baht per journey. This means that you can now save money given that tuk-tuks tend to be a bit more expensive, especially for tourists. The price is fixed so you don’t have to worry about bargaining or paying too much. There are several routes now available around Chiang Mai. Specifically in Chiang Mai City there are two routes, one from the Airport to the Arcade Bus Terminal, and the other from Chiang Mai Zoo to the Arcade Bus Terminal. These routes cost 15 baht per journey. 目前清迈府已开通数条巴士 线路，在清迈城区有两条线 ，一条线是从机场到清迈汽 车站的，另一条线是从清迈 动物园到清迈汽车站的，这 两条线的单程车费是每人15 铢。

For visitors to Chiang Mai who also wish to see some of the neighbouring regions, the mountain known as Doi Mae Salong is a great option. This mountain is part of the Daen Lao Range and is located only six kilometres from the border with Myanmar in the northernmost part of Chiang Rai Province.

This mountain rises to a height of 1,367 m (4,485 ft) in Mae Fa Luang District, and the summit is located near a town called Santikhiri. The views are pretty spectacular and the air is fresh and cool. A large part of the attraction of Mae Salong is the drive itself. The journey and surrounding areas offer so much of interest, so once you are on the road you can begin to relax, enjoy the scenery and fresh air. The top of the mountain can act as a destination marker for you, but many find that it is the area as a whole that is worth your time, and not just the highest point.
