NEW ADVENTURE TOURS

Our new “Adventure Tours” are designed for adults of any age with the focus on giving you, the traveler, more freedom to make choices of what you want to do, where you want to go, and when you want to do it, sort of free-wheeling if you will. “Adventure Tours” that are extended overnight trips will include a detailed itinerary outlining our group activities as well as a list of the options available to you the traveler to explore at your own leisure.

Join us as we travel to Louisville, KY for our first "Adventure Tours" trip. The focus of these trips is to give you freedom to choose of what you would like to do. Sit back, relax and let your worries fade away on their beautiful patio and enjoy live music by the Hudson & The Hoodoo Cats band. We will begin our evening with a scrumptious dinner at Hendel's Market Cafe. Travel with us to STAGES St. Louis in Kirkwood, MO as they bring back one of their most frequently requested shows, The Drowsy Chaperone - a musical about people who love musicals. It all begins when a die-hard musical theatre fan decides to play his favorite cast album in his small brownstone apartment - a 1928 smash hit musical called "The Drowsy Chaperone." Before we visit the Lyceum Theatre in Arrow Rock, MO to experience one of the most famous recording sessions of all time we will make a quick stop for a bite to eat (lunch is on your own). **Calhoun County Barn-Quilt Festival

Travel with us to Calhoun County, IL for their 10th Annual Church & Quilt Tour. During your visit, you will see over 200 quilts, old and new, both hand stitched and machined, displayed in historic churches located in four rural villages across the county. Quilters, history buffs, folk art lovers, nature lovers, and fall color fanatics will love this event! Your guide for the day will step aboard our coach to narrate as our journey throughout the county begins. You're sure to spot many of the 85 painted barn quilts along the way. These large outdoor paintings of quilt blocks are hung on barns, reflecting a family's history or special event. We will also visit Mel's River Dock Diner for lunch. Cost includes lunch and tour.

Christmas in Hermann

Experience the Christmas spirit with a visit to Hermann, MO! We will begin our day with a tour and tasting at the Wurst Haus where we will learn the process of making bratwursts. We will then make our way to the Inn at Hermannhof for a delicious lunch. Next we will visit the Kriskindl Markts for a unique holiday shopping experience. Continuing our festive journey, we will stop by the Historic Rotunda for the Christmas Tablescape where tables are elaborately set and decorated to illustrate a unique Christmas theme. Pickleball Tournament

JOIN THE PICKLEBALL CRAZE! Often described as a mix between tennis, badminton and ping pong, this sport is played on a court with a hard paddle and a polymer ball. This tournament is open to players of all levels. This is a doubles tournament, team registration only. Tai Chi - Fitness Program

This program is designed to be a safe and effective exercise program for a wide range of ages and conditions including arthritis. It uses the Sun Style of Tai Chi with its Qigong exercise to benefit balance, flexibility, mobility, coordination, management of arthritis and health in general. Tai Chi for Arthritis is promoted by the Arthritis Foundation as an effective program for managing arthritis. The New York State Older Adult Fall Prevention Program uses it and the OASIS Institute is implementing it in Missouri to reduce the number of falls. Our 2016 Walking Club is structured to allow you to walk on your own or with friends and family throughout any of our City parks and trails. We challenge you to complete 100 miles! Register today to receive your log book. After completing 100 miles turn in your log book at our Administration Office in Blanchette Park to receive a commemorative gift. Along with logging miles on your own, register to walk with a St. Charles Parks and Recreation staff member in our group walking sessions.

All trips are filled on a first come first serve basis. Trip Itineraries are subject to change without prior notice.

Extended Trips: Deposits:

Extended Trips: $50 non refundable deposit must be received at registration.

Cancellations:

Extended Trips: Participants cancelling an extended trip less than 30 days prior to the trip will not receive a refund. Participants cancelling more than 30 days prior to the trip will receive a refund minus a $50 administration fee.

Pick up Point:

Pick up point for all day trips and extended trips will be at the Memorial Hall Parking Lot in Blanchette Park unless otherwise stated.

**Parks Passport Card:

Receive a $5 discount for select trips (two stars signifies the trips with discounts) with this card. Available for St. Charles CITY Residents. For more information call our Administration Office.

Scholarships:

The St. Charles Parks & Recreation Foundation provides funds to either children or adult CITY RESIDENTS who cannot financially afford a recreation program or trip participation fee. One scholarship amount per family per brochure is granted. For more information call our Administration Office.
