Verstappen conquers Zandvoort F1 circuit to grab a first for his country

After an absence of 36 years, Formula One fever returned to Circuit Zandvoort on the first weekend of September 2021 as the Heineken Dutch Grand Prix became one of the country’s biggest events in sporting history… and Stageco was proud to be among the key production vendors.

The success of Red Bull’s Formula One champion

Max Verstappen – the first Dutch driver to win at home – has turned many people in The Netherlands into big fans of motor racing, and thousands of the live audience were able to catch close-up views of his victory in the ‘stadium’ area at Zandvoort, thanks to Stageco’s custom video tower which was constructed using an adaptor connection made by Steel Logistics.

Besides the video tower,

Stageco Nederland’s crew – led by Maarten

Geverink – was responsible for all the Layher constructions of the LED video displays around the circuit, along with several stairs and other structures.

With only one access road to Zandvoort and one rail station near the circuit, the

logistics of working on the Grand Prix site appeared to pose a major problem. This issue was minimised when Stageco’s crew built two bridges outside the circuit – the bridge sections were lifted during the night to relieve traffic as much as possible and aid the flow of pedestrians.

Henk-Jan Luesink managed the project for Stageco. While load-in began in the second week of August, all of the constructions were broken down and removed from the site within a week of Verstappen’s win.

Stageco Nederland now looks forward to the 2022 Dutch Grand Prix which, it has been confirmed, will take place on September 4th.
