WERCHTER PARKLIFE
After a successful month against all the odds, Werchter Parklife, the series of concerts held as a 2,500-capacity, COVID-secure alternative to Rock Werchter, TW Classic and Werchter Boutique, concluded at the beginning of August with Stageco among the key vendors.
Announced last May, after restrictions on mass gatherings in Belgium led to the cancellation of Rock Werchter, Parklife required the construction of a temporary, socially-distanced, semi-circular, open-air arena in Werchter’s Festivalpark, with the audience restricted to 625 four-person ‘bubbles’ consisting of a parquet square and a stand. Evidence of Stageco’s involvement was seen across the site. Along with the stage itself, multiple crew chiefs and teams were assigned by Stageco’s project manager Tom Bilsen to build the grandstands and structures for the entrance and publicity functions.

Starting on June 22nd, the build lasted nine days, using 14 trailer loads of equipment. The combined workforce dismantled all structures and loaded out of the site by the end of the first week of August.
Featuring diverse acts from Belgium and the Netherlands, the festival series ran four days a week, from July 1st to August 1st, welcoming 63,000 people to 28 shows with each day dedicated to a different musical genre.
