Our team had tons of fun seeking out and visiting new Detroit-area hot spots. There are tons of things to do in Detroit today and it was exciting to do some exploring on our own. It’s amazing to see how much the City has changed over the years. New buildings and storefronts. New parks with activity areas. And an expanding food scene that is dynamic and a true “foodie’s paradise.” We had a great time creating this ‘Detroit Sampler’ for you. The best thing about our Detroit excursion was that we absolutely loved the new, fresh interactive businesses that we visited. We had so much fun when we were moving around and involved in the activities – less time sitting and more time participating and socializing. The ‘experiences’ added value to each outing and made us want to go back for more. We are already planning our next metro Detroit highlights and can’t wait to share them with you. A Vibrant Pink Chic Mitzvah

Working with the client’s initials, P.C., an eye-popping, dazzling Pink Chic experience was created. Guests “walked the pink carpet” and were greeted with champagne flute mocktails, topped with pink sugar and cotton candy. Featuring plush pink carpeting, LED screens, a custom DJ façade, and customized furniture and linens, the venue radiated pink. The crowning jewel an eight-foot live floral ring highlighting pink and white roses - hung over a custom-wrapped dance floor. Personalized swag, with the guest of honor’s initials incorporated into fun phrases, was given out on the dance floor. ‘Keepin’ it PC,’ ‘Party Hardy & Get Crazy,’ and ‘PeaCe’ were crowd favorites. My favorite part of the design process! It’s always fun trying to find new ways to bring the event theme and colors together. Whether it’s creating small groupings or designing surrounding areas, accents can highlight a specific object or display. Chargers, accent glassware, and silverware help amp up the table settings. Accent lighting never disappoints – it helps create ambiance and sets the energy for your entire event.

Furniture

Chairs can make a statement or blend into the décor. They can stand alone as decorations, or they can fade away and allow your other accents to shine. Statement chairs stand out as soon as you enter a room – they add color, shape, and dimension to the overall room design. Clear chairs, on the other hand, pick up on the lighting hues in the room and ‘fade away,’ letting everything else glow.

Soft seating offers so many options, including couches, ottomans, and lounge furniture. Don’t be afraid to play around with shape, size, layout, and color. You can find almost every color of the rainbow in soft seating. Once your furniture is all set, make sure to add pillows. We love details! The most important thing to remember when designing and placing your rental orders is to create balance. Aim to have some accents stand out, others blend in, and the rest compliment the theme. Rentals should enhance the overall feeling and ambience of your event!

You can search through hundreds of online vendors looking for event services … and you still may not know where to begin. Google and other internet search engines are not the best resource for building an event team, as options can be broad, vague, and not always on target. So, where do you start? Referrals! Trusted merchants work with talented vendors and are always happy to help get you started. When our Team receives an event planning inquiry, we work to put together the best support team for the client. If there is something we do not provide, we offer vendor recommendations. Our referrals are trusted professionals people who we have worked with numerous times. We know their capabilities and are confident in their services and products. The next step is to determine your “must haves” and your “expectations.” Have you chosen a venue? Does the venue provide catering, or do you need to secure a food vendor? Do you need any rentals, including tables, chairs, linen, and other furnishings? What about décor, entertainment, photography, and audio-visual requirements? Finally, have you thought about custom items, including napkins, and souvenirs, personal touches, interactive activities, and valet parking? Before reaching out to a prospective vendor, it’s important to have a clear list of your needs as well as a realistic budget. The vendor can offer reasonable recommendations and create a proposal that fits within your means. When it comes to your budget, honesty is always the best policy. Hiring an event planner can simplify the planning process and alleviate the worry that often goes along with planning an event. However, if you are arranging an event on your own, take your time and do your research. Meet with as many people as you can, making sure that you are comfortable on all levels. • Can they work within your budget? • Do you connect on a personal level? • Are they responsive to your calls and emails? • Do they have the resources and capabilities to achieve your vision? mobile party solutions e often come across “the perfect venue” for an event … only to later find out that the site lacks kitchen space and sufficient resources needed for catering. While we are always able to find warmers, utility racks, and other basic catering essentials, we could never find a fully-equipped, rentable kitchen. Until we met Kristin Brochert, owner of Trailer Events. Trailer Events has made it possible for us to bypass what could have been a major event restriction or venue deal breaker and turn the space into a state-of-the-art facility. Originally in the restoration business, Kristin offered a solution for anyone planning a renovation project or an emergency situation that required immediate restoration: a mobile kitchen. Her clients were mostly schools, summer camps, and nursing homes. Word got around about these mobile units and it soon became obvious that the private events world could also utilize her brilliant idea of a mobile kitchen. Thus, Trailer Events was born. We had our solution to hosting events in fantastic venues with little or no kitchen space! Trailer Events offers a state-of-the-art commercial grade, NSF Approved, and fully licensed mobile kitchen. The kitchen has a functional floor plan design and includes the necessary equipment to prepare and serve food in a clean, safe, mobile environment.

As Kristin’s business grew, clients began asking for a specialty trailer for tailgating. State-of-the-art and equipped with a stainless-steel refrigerator, microwave, outside gas grill, generator, and private restroom, these specialty trailers offer a convenient mobile party solution. The trailers are hi-tech with an HDTV monitor, remote, satellite, and Bluetooth capabilities. In response to increased demand for mobile units, Kristin has added executive restroom trailers to her arsenal. We were fascinated by the beauty and functionality of these units. With separate entrances for men and women, the restrooms have private stalls, stainless trim mirrored vanities, hand sinks with warm water, LED lighting, and ventilation complete with heating and cooling systems in place. You never know when you’ll be hosting an event in need of additional restrooms. Kristin and her knowledgeable staff have taken the stumbling blocks out of hosting events. Their mobile kitchens, specialty trailers, and executive restroom trailers can be used for any event, whether it’s a sophisticated corporate gathering, private occasion, tailgate party, or backyard BBQ.
