A.S.S.E.T CAMPS
In addition to daily summer camps, The City of Steamboat Springs offers a wide variety of exciting week long skill building programs. A.S.S.E.T Camp prices may vary, but include all activity fees, transportation, and snacks. A detailed camp itinerary will be released to registered participants two weeks prior to the camp starting. Space is limited, and on a first-come, first-served basis. A.S.S.E.T Camp registration will open on Monday, March 23 at 8:00 AM. Registration will be available online and at the Parks & Recreation office.
SWIM LESSONS (LEVELS 1 & 2)|Kids Entering Kindergarten - 3rd Grades Children will receive a 30-minute swim lesson to learn basic skills (levels 1 & 2) and then spend 30 minutes of free time practicing the water skills they’ve just learned. The afternoon will be spent with the Adventurers or Explorers camps. CAMP INVENTION AFTERCARE| Kids Entering Kindergarten - 5th Grades Do your kids want to participate in Camp Invention, but you work past 3:30 PM? Then this program is the perfect solution for you! Your kids will be able to attend Camp Invention, then have some extra fun with us before getting picked up. Dates: June 8 - 12 Location: Soda Creek & Howelsen Hill Fireplace Room Cost: $10/Day ($5 off if you sign up for all 5 days) Enrollment Capacity: 12 Time: 3:30 PM - 5:45 PM Drop-Off: Transportation will be provided from Camp Invention to Aftercare Pick-Up: K-3rd Grades | Before 5:45 PM at Soda Creek 4th - 5th Grades | Before 5:30 PM at Howelsen Hill Fireplace Room
SPORTS CAMP|Kids Entering 2nd - 5th Grades Learn basic tennis, pickleball, and golf skills, or practice existing skills. Kids will play tennis on indoor or outdoor courts, practice their pickleball techniques, and show off their talents at the golf course driving range and putting green. Mornings will be spent at the Tennis Center, and afternoons at Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club. CREATIVE ARTS CAMP|Kids Entering 1st - 3rd Grades Express creativity through fun art activities with Steamboat Creates and Julie at Warehome Studios. In the mornings, enter the world of fantasy with a fun art creativity camp. Each day, kids will make a different fantasy creature: trolls, dragons, gnomes, fairies and more! Projects include felt finger puppets, tie-dye trolls and dragon eggs. In the afternoons, learn about hand-making natural clay pottery and have the opportunity to decorate with glazes and other ceramic materials. A.S.S.E.T CAMPS GRAND JUNCTION CAMPOUT|Kids Entering 4th - 6th Grades Explore the Grand Junction area with a variety of fun activities and sights to see. We’ll camp at a local campground for two nights/three days, and visit Get Air Silo, Bananas Fun Park, SunCrest Orchard Alpacas, and the Museum of Western Colorado Dinosaur Journey. WATER FUN!|Kids Entering 4th - 8th Grades Spend the week exploring life in the water with swim time at Old Town Hot Springs each morning. In the afternoons, join instructors from Mountain Sports Kayak School who will guide participants in stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking. Kids will learn valuable skills to be safe while having fun on the water. THE STAGE EXPERIENCE|Kids Entering 1st - 5th Grades Bust out your costumes and get in the groove with this intro to performing arts camp. Join local dance instructor Scott Goodhart in the mornings to explore different dance styles and express yourself through movement. In the afternoons, learn about different theater experiences at the Steamboat Arts Academy. Kids will learn a short play, create costumes, and even build their own sets. On Monday participants will be treated to a special performance at Strings Music Festival. FUN AROUND TOWN|Kids Entering 1st - 3rd Grades Explore the Yampa Valley’s attractions all week as kids participate in a variety of activities. Visit Stagecoach Resevoir for archery and swimming, learn about glass blowing and 3D arts, go bowling at Steamboat Snow Bowl, spring into Excel Gymnastics, enjoy a special kids-only showing at the movie theater, and spend a day exploring the fun activities at the base of Steamboat Resort.
