TRAN·QUIL·O·PA
(a) Tranquilopa is a combination of Spanish and the indigenous language of Paraguay, Guarani. Tranquilo is tranquil in
spanish. Pa translates to everything in Guarani. Tranquilopa more or less means: Calm, all is well, todo bien. If Paraguay and its beautiful people were to be described in one word, it would be this one. Casa Tranquilopa is inspired by the Paraguayan phrase tranquilo pa, the Spanish word tranquil meaning translating to tranquility and the Guarani word pa meaning everything. Casa Tranquilopa is a place where business workers can find rest after a long day of work and where tourists can feel at home while vacationing. The hotel embraces the traditional Spanish Colonial architecture found around Asuncion and adds a spa, native-like feel to enstill the tranquility that tranquilopa refers to. The use of warm tones in combination with subdued color calms the spirit and allows one to feel as if they are in a welcoming and familiar space as soon as they enter Casa Tranquilopa. The 5-star restaurant, bar & lounge, and day spa seek to welcome locals into the hotel and bring authentic and native culture within. Whether it’s through a guided meditation class, locally sourced authentic cuisine or a glass of tereré, Casa Tranquilopa serves as a home where one can disconnect from the bustling city center and enjoy themselves and their surroundings.
