TRAN·QUIL·O·PA
(a) Tranquilopa is a combination of Spanish and the indigenous language of Paraguay, Guarani. Tranquilo is tranquil in
spanish. Pa translates to everything in Guarani. Tranquilopa more or less means: Calm, all is well, todo bien. If Paraguay and its beautiful people were to be described in one word, it would be this one. Casa Tranquilopa is inspired by the Paraguayan phrase tranquilo pa, the Spanish word tranquil meaning translating to tranquility and the Guarani word pa meaning everything. Casa Tranquilopa is a place where business workers can find rest after a long day of work and where tourists can feel at home while away from their homes. The hotel embraces the traditional Spanish Colonial architecture found around Asuncion and adds a spa, native-like feel to enstill the tranquility that tranquilopa refers to. Warm and neutral tones throughout the space calm the spirirt as copious amounts of natural light create a bright and refreshing space. The hotel aims to focus on the health and wellness of it’s employees and visitors. It features an in-house day spa that offers yoga and guded meditation classes which is open to the public everyday. Ample amounts of greenery can be found throughout as the hotel strives to cater to the well-being of the user through the use of biophilia, adequate HVAC, and by providing water filters in every guest room.
