HOTTY

Armando Davies 25, Belmont

Three things you like about yourself and why? I like my tattoos because they represent my passion and personality. I like going to the gym and working out to have a great body and fit look. I like my personality and my ability to connect with friends and people. What is your OMG moment? Well it would have to be when I attended this boat cruise on the Treasure Queen. I took off my jersey and was dancing and the DJ stopped the music, pointed at me and said “Mr Rico Suavé, please put back on your jersey!!” The entire boat was looking at me. It was like OMG! I let some guy see me

naked over Skype I can’t believe I did this. What was going through my head, I do not know. I mean, come on, me? Nobody would even suspect me of doing such a thing, and let me admit, I haven’t even kissed anyone before. I’m like this little box of innocence that really isn’t all that innocent anymore. I have this empty feeling inside, and I know someday it will go away but right now it’s just clinging to me, trying to tear me apart. I don’t know why I did it. I feel gross, dirty, ashamed. I should have never done it, and yes, it’s my fault. I could have just said no.

All I want is to be happy

I haven’t disclosed

my STD to my bf

I’ve been dating this really great guy for about three months. We use condoms every time we have sex, but I have yet to tell him that I have herpes. I’m a nurse so I know how important this is and how terrible I am for not telling him. We haven’t discussed STDs at all yet, so I haven’t flat out lied....but, come on. Lying by omission is the same thing. I’ve only ever had to tell one partner, so this is kind of new. Not that it gets any easier, I would assume. I have three kids. They think he’s amazing...I think he’s amazing...Yeah, I know it has to be done. Obviously sooner rather than later.

I love Alvin and the

Chipmunks remix covers of songs... Every now and then I look up Chipmunks covers of popular songs... My boyfriend resents me for it. I don’t know how to stop.....

Been in the same

relationship for 12 years I love my ex, I do. I have been with him for 12 years. We have a daughter together and I want to walk away because he doesn’t want to commit and he doesn’t want to get married. I love him but I am tired. What should I do....walk away or stay?

I Hate A ‘Stoosh’ Girl My boyfriend is falling out of love with me and it’s killing me. I’m constantly looking at my phone, waiting for a text or a call. He says that he loves me but doesn’t know if he wants to work on us but so far we’ve spent the night together, had sex, cuddled. I just want to be like how we used to be. He’s my everything, and it’s killing me that I invested so much into him and now it’s being thrown in my face.

Ladies, why do you move like this: “Oh, I not paying to go into no club” or “Me ain’t come here to dance” or “So far? That too long. I will travel and meet you there.” For us guys it’s kinda irritating and at other times we just don’t feel to carry you anywhere (lol). We (guys) hate it when you move like that because it seems like you can’t do anything at all. Don’t worry, this is not for all the ladies. There are the really nice ones that you can talk to in a really nice and sweet voice but there are some that are just plain annoying and sound like “I ain’t got no time for that!” LOL. So all the “stoosh’’ ladies I think it’s time for you to move like a proper lady so we can treat you like a REAL woman and not a little girl.

How I deal with

boredom at work

I have had several jobs over the past few years. However my most recent three have all been some kind of desk job, and many times there is no more work to be done so I am stuck waiting for time to pass until quitting time. In these cases, it is not unusual for me to go into the restroom for a quick “fap” while watching porn on my smartphone. And while I’m sure most of us have done it once or twice it is becoming part of my daily routine. It’s almost as if I can’t help it.

How to Be Healthy Step 1- Stop engaging in risky behaviour

Taking unnecessary risks is hard on the body and mind and can have devastating long-term consequences. Serious or established patterns of risk-taking can also be indicative of deeper psychological problems, in which case you should talk to a health care professional who specialises in a relevant field.

Start by setting your sights on one of the following achievements:

• Have safer sex • Stop binge drinking • Quit drinking without Alcoholics Anonymous • Quit smoking • Beat drug addiction Step 2 - Eat well

A light organic breakfast is sufficient and, when combined with a snack mid-morning, will see you through until lunch time. A good time for the evening meal is between 5 pm and 8 pm depending on your work/study schedule; it is best to avoid late night snacks because they fill you with unnecessary calories and can disrupt your sleep. Once a steady eating pattern has been established, your body will feel more comfortable. Read “How to Eat Healthy” for more facts.

Step 3 - Bolster your immune system

Maintaining healthy habits and a high level of energy is difficult for anyone who constantly battles fatigue, colds, infections, or any other effects of a weakened immune system. Read “How to Develop a Strong Immune System” for more information.

Step 4 - Improve your sleep quality

When you sleep, your body produces cells that fight infection, inflammation, and stress – which means that getting too little sleep or poor-

quality sleep not only makes you more prone to getting sick, but also increases the time you need to recover from illness. On top of that, a study conducted by The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition demonstrated that men who slept for four hours consumed 500 more calories than they did after sleeping for eight hours. Read “How to Sleep Better for tips.

Step 5 - Get in shape In addition to helping you lose weight and gain confidence, exercising has a host of other benefits for your body and mind. For example, having good cardiovascular health has been linked to a decreased risk of Alzheimer’s. Exercising also boosts your immune system; even a change as minor as walking briskly for 20 to 30 minutes a day five days a week can improve your immune system by increasing both your antibody and T-killer cell response. Exercising is also one of the absolute best ways to sleep better at night – which, as previously mentioned, can help you lose weight by keeping you from overeating. Read “How to Get Fit” for more details. Step 6 - Maintain your personal hygiene

Wash your hands often, especially after visiting the bathroom at home or using the restrooms in a public place. Floss and brush your teeth and tongue after eating; food particles are often the cause of bad breath and gum disease. Visit your dentist regularly for cleanings and to catch any problems before they become serious. See “How to Be Hygienic” for more details.

Step 7- Find emotional balance

Even if you master every other aspect of health, it won’t feel complete if you’re suffering from inner turmoil. Everyone needs a pick-me-up sometimes, and there are many small things that you can do to feel better about yourself. If the problem extends deeper, you may need to learn to cope with emotional pain or even depression.

Step 8 - Exercise daily If not possible twice or thrice a week. It will increase your metabolic rate and you’ll feel fresh the whole week.

Dealing With

Something Very Annoying Ever get really annoyed at something? Maybe you lost at your game? Broke your cellphone? Or maybe you're annoyed at someone who got annoyed and broke something of yours? Well, here is how to prevent blowing a gasket! Step 1-

Put anything you have in your hand down. Take off any rings, bracelets or watches.

Step 2 -

Walk quickly and silently toward the door. Try to let off some steam on the way.

Step 3 -

When you are out and have closed the door, find a private place. It could be as simple as behind a hedge or wall!

Step 4 -

Sit down and lean against something. Take deep breaths and count to the highest number you can think of, inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

Step 5 Shift your concentration. Find an interesting part of a tree or shrub, maybe even your hand, and play with it. You will find that while you are concentrating on that, your anger will fizz away like bubbles in a glass of soft drink. Step 6 -

On the walk back, keep your eyes focused on the ground and walk straight back – don’t stop, because when the human mind is already on a roll, even the slightest twinge of something irritating can trigger mayhem.

Step 7 -

When you’re back, continue whatever you were doing, and give yourself a pat on the back. You did it!

HOW

TO’S

Signs that You’re about Avoid Giving Terrible Gifts If people grimace when you hand them a present, it’s time to improve your gift-giving skills. STEP 1Make it returnable

Always include a gift receipt. Even the nicest present is inconsiderate if you don’t allow the recipient the option to exchange it.

STEP 2 Make smart choices

Bigger isn’t necessarily better. Give one small item of good quality rather than something huge but cheap.

STEP 3 Be wary of size issues

When buying clothes, proceed cautiously. Don’t give someone a “large” unless you know that they know they’re a “large” —if you know what we mean.

STEP 4 Never give pets

Never, ever give someone an animal unless you are 100 per cent sure they want one and are capable of caring for it. Remember, you’re not just giving them a pet; you’re giving them the time, expense, and responsibility that come with it.

Tip – Keep a running list of gift ideas for the people who matter most to you. By jotting down ideas as they come to you throughout the year, you’ll be ready when the gift-giving occasion arises. STEP 5 - Put some thought into it

You know those gifts you only seem to see around holiday time—nose hair clippers, coin separators, motorised tie racks, cheeseand-sausage samplers? They scream “lastminute” and lack of imagination. Steer clear.

to Get Dumped Don’t be blindsided! Know the most common signs that your lover is about to leave you. STEP 1Look for contempt

Be on your guard if your lover suddenly seems annoyed by everything you say and do -- especially if there’s nothing unusual going on in their life that would explain their irritability.

STEP 2 Ask them to make plans

Try to make long-term plans with them. If they won’t commit to anything beyond the next few weeks, and their reasons for refusing to do so are vague, watch out.

STEP 3 Be wary of makeovers

Be wary if they take a renewed interest in their appearance. They may be primping for someone else – or simply sprucing themselves up in anticipation of putting themselves back on the market.

STEP 4 Size up the sex

A decrease in frequency and passion is normal for long-term couples, but if your partner is actively avoiding intimacy of any kind, they may be getting ready to pull up stakes.

Tip – Half-hearted hugs are a bad sign, especially if they involve back-patting;

it may be their subconscious way of comforting you for the pain they’re about to inflict. STEP 5 Track their comings and goings

Having trouble tracking their movements? They’re no longer keeping you in the loop. Being unable to reach them for long periods of time, or their sudden “busyness” when you try to call or make plans, are

STEP 6 The fighting stops

Be suspicious if they’re no longer carping at you for things you do that used to drive them crazy. It could mean they just don’t care anymore, because you soon will no longer be their problem.

Adding some chut John Emmanuel aka John Tho, has been on the local pop music scene for several years now. He has two songs under his belt, one called “With You” featuring soca artiste K. Rich, and the other with music producer Andrew Macintosh called “Free Fall”. However John dropped a bombshell in his OMG Magazine interview. He revealed his plan to be the next big Trini chutney sensation. Yes, he is going from pop to chutney. John made this 180-degree turn because in assessing the local music business he felt if you are not doing chutney or soca in T&T

you would be doing your career as a performer an injustice. He says chutney is not alien to him. He always had a love for chutney and is teaming up with soca’s 2013 mega producer Millbeatz, to launch his chutney career. John is 21 years old and is currently at UWI, doing business management. He is a Fatima College old boy and his primary school days were spent at St Bernadette’s prep school. He grew up around music and among friends and family who were either part of or directly involved in a band. His brother is the bassist for Kes The Band. John was a delight to talk to, very animated and always had a joke to share. He says he is a natural performer and has always gravitated to the stage. He says it is easy to love him and he loves

tney in the mix to get up close and personal with his audience. It’s clear that he really enjoys entertaining people. This child of the eighties who grew up with his family pumping eighties music all the time, feels the elements you need for success in the business are have good business mind, a good song, a good team behind you and the will power to perform and squeeze the hell out of any opportunity you get. John’s OMG moment happened when he was performing at his first rock show with Orange Sky in Chaguanas. He was really going wild and got so into his performance that he misjudged his position and slipped off the stage. While falling the mic wire tangled in the mic stand and pulled it off stage and as he was about to get up, the stand hit him on the head. It was like OMG!

Caryl “ Trini” Jacobs is best known locally for her collaborations involving Kevin Lyttle’s “Sexy Ways” and Machel Montano’s “Love Is Remix” and her latest soca release “Can’t Stop This Trini”, which can be heard everywhere. Yes, she is the person who owns that beautiful and angelic voice you heard on these songs. OMG Magazine chatted with her recently. She has a bubbly personality and we enjoyed every minute of the conversation with her. We even got the lowdown on what she has been up to recently. She is the general manager of Sexy Boo hair salon and many of her fans will be elated to learn that she is currently working on new music with Carnival 2014 in mind.

Trini Jacobs is the daughter of the legendary duo Carl and Carol Jacobs, but she has gone way beyond being the child of famous parents. She decided long ago that she wanted to make a name of her own within the music industry. She began her music career at age 16 and signed with her first label – Finatic Records – at age 17. The label was owned by Jamaicans, and she was the only Trinidadian, so they called her “Trini Jacobs”. When she became involved with soca she performed with Invasion and then Roy Cape All Stars up to 2010. Whilst working with Roy Cape All Stars there was a huge misunderstanding and she decided to pursue a solo career. In 2010, she took some time off to give birth to her son. That can be considered a

miracle because she was told by her doctor that she was infertile. Now she has returned with 2013’s hit “Can’t Stop This Trini”. Currently, Trini is writing new songs in genres such as R and B, pop and reggae. They are being produced by JC Management. Trini is also learning music so that she can have more control of her work. She believes this method will help when she goes to the sound engineer. She will know more about the sound she wants and be able to express effectively what can make it better in terms of capturing her vision. Trini describes herself as being different because she has been getting in touch with “Myself, I and me, us”. She says she has become everything she ever wanted to be. She even told us about her new approach in terms of working in the industry, which is that if she makes a few steps and it doesn’t feel right she would not continue. This is the wisdom she has gained from her past experiences. She said she has made a lot of mistakes and doesn’t want to repeat them. Apart from making music, Trini Jacobs is most excited to be returning to the stage as well. She loves performing because she loves to please her audience and see them happy while she sings. I know many of you are awaiting the spicy part of the lowdown – Trini’s OMG Moment. That happened at a party where she had eight martinis. Apparently it was way too many drinks for her. She was in a corner of the dance floor but thought it was a bathroom and she relieved herself there and then. Many people saw and could not believe it. Trini said that is the moment she knew she could not handle liquor and she stopped drinking for a long time after. OMG!

Kwan

IEZE 24, BELMONT, RUGBY PLAYER Interview by Stephen Doobal Written by Amelia C Ramjarrie

There is no such thing as a sport being applicable to any particular sex, but as soon as rugby comes to mind, all we can imagine is men running with the ball in hand, passing it laterally from player to player and kicking it. Kwan Ieze has dared to change the dynamics of rugby and who can play it. She declares, “If you want to see change, you must be that change.” She is a rugby player and has been for eight years. Her rugby career stems from the secondary school she attended, St Francois Girls’ College. She was an active member of their team. Achievements don’t get handed to anyone on a silver platter, so 24-year-old Jwan trained really hard and practiced vigorously and today it can be safely be said that her hard work has paid off. She has been a dominating rugby player. Although she suffered a setback – a knee injury – and took almost a year and a half to recover, she returned to the sport with the same mindset, committed to being the best she can be. When Kwan returned to the field of play she represented Trinidad and Tobago on the 2012 National Women’s Rugby team and the Caribbean Championships. She is also a member of the Royalians club and contributed significantly to their success in the tournaments they participated in last season. They won five tournaments – the League, Knockout, National Sevens, Police Sevens and Harvard Sevens. Kwan was recognised by her club for her contribution – they honoured her by declaring her their player of the year last season. Kwan is a very dynamic young woman. Apart from playing rugby she trains and visits the gym five days a week and coaches the Royalians’ under-17 girls team and Tranquillity Boys’ under 14 and 17 teams. She is also a full time student at the University of Trinidad and Tobago where she is pursuing sports studies, specialising in sports for development. She also enjoys swimming, listening to music, running and attending art shows. As for Jwan’s aspirations for the future she wants to put herself in a position to encourage and motivate girls to enter careers in sport as athletes, coaches, referees or administrators. When we asked her what her OMG moment was, she responded that it happened when she was coaching one of her youth teams. They were down in the first half of the game. Before the second half she says she didn’t know what she said but it sparked them because they ended up winning convincingly. She said that it showed that she had the ability to motivate and encourage persons to perform beyond their expectations.

His Being Human Foundation, that has till now been responsible for helping underprivileged people with education and healthcare, will now be helping people in the five most droughtaffected districts of Maharashtra.

As many as 2,500 water tanks will be dispatched to some of the state’s worst affected villages including those in Osmanabad, Jalna, Aurangabad and Nanded. A source close to the foundation revealed that it was the Dabangg star’s personal interest in the project that got them to take up the activity, “Salman bhai got an agency to research the real reason of scarcity of water and found out that the storage of water was one of the key reasons. Hence, Being Human is all set to donate these Sintex tanks to farmers and their families who can preserve water for the future.” Well, we really hope the villagers find an end to their water crisis soon.

Celluloid Man review: A masterful documentary on how one man’s obsession saved the history of Indian cinema

Shivendra Singh Dungarpur’s documentary on noted Indian film archivist PK Nair is a fitting tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema Shivendra Singh Dungarpur’s documentary on noted Indian film archivist PK Nair is a fitting tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema “A generation that ignores its history has no past” is the one quote that stands out in Celluloid Man, a brilliant 150-minute documentary by Shivendra Singh Dungarpur on the life of legendary film archivist PK Nair, and how his obsessive attitude and steely determination to preserve films helped India retain its century-old culture of making movies. The director looks at his subject with a starry eyed devotion of a fan; he treats Nair almost like a movie character, as he delves into investigating the how and why of the old archivist’s obsession with cinema. On its surface, the documentary is about Nair who single-handedly built the movie archive at FTII Pune, and started work of film preservation in India. Like a Sherlock Holmes, Nair would chase old movies and attempt to preserve them without any bias. Larger questions about which movies

are worth preserving and how it affects the current generation of filmmakers and viewers in their attitude towards films are made evident as the documentary progresses. For example, even a C grade film like Hunterwali Nadia, 50 years later, becomes a rare walk through the history of cinema. The movie shows Nair as a complete fan of the talkies, whose obsession with cinema began in the makeshift theatres of Trivandrum where he would sneak in and watch movies, with his heels dug in the white sand that acted as the floor. “The experience was almost spiritual, as sometimes I would lie down on the white sand and see movies,” says Nair, now in his 80s, with milky eyes and a bad back. The film shows how the archivist had to fight the governments and at times producers’ callous attitudes towards film preservation to save precious films from a sorry fate. Nair here is treated at par with legendary cinematic figures including the noted

French film archivist Henri Langlois, and rightly so. His style may be different from Langlois who was known to be boisterous and almost rogue, but his affection for the talkies is the same, and a legion of directors vouch for it. Like Langlois, Nair would cheekily ‘dupe’ films and take part in piracy which now looking back worked out for the best. What’s also heartening to see is how Nair’s efforts helped so many filmmakers come into their own. The old archivist was always ready to help out young students with tips on which movies to watch, often lending them rare prints to study. Filmmakers including Ritwik Ghatak, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani, Santosh Sivan, Aziz Mirza and Mahesh Bhatt are among the many FTII students who benefitted from Nair’s generosity. Shivendra Singh Dungarpur works his way patiently through Nair’s story and turns the film on its head making it about so much more than just a documentary about cinema. With Nair’s retirement, an era has

come to an end. And with the FTII’s same babu like attitudes, film preservation is again at a fragile state. Nair is no longer a welcome sight at the FTII campus, as his dictatorial style and iron clad approach towards preserving films is not appreciated by the higher ups at the government sponsored film institute. The mantle has passed, yet the problems remain the same. Nair is a dinosaur and a revered figure, yet his era is over. But has it gone to someone worthy? Sadly, that is the debate that the movie wakes its viewers up to. So catch this film to simply know how rich and diverse the history of Indian cinema is. And the 100 years that Indian cinema completes are not only of insane song and dance affairs but with films so beautiful, it would make your heart sing with joy if they were accessible. And some of them are too, thanks to one man’s magpie-like obsession with preserving films.

Veena Malik says she loves shooting in sexy bikinis The controversial Pakistani import (yet again) does what she is best at – shed clothes for her upcoming movie. And Veena doesn’t hesitate in admitting that she loves posing in sexy bikinis Veena Malik is absolutely comfortable in her own skin. And if that’s not a good enough reason for the sexy siren to shed her clothes time and gain, Veena has got a solid role that allows

her to saunter around in her favourite outfit – a bikini! The Bigg Boss babe, we hear, will portray the role of a sex-worker in the upcoming Tamil film, Mutham Tharaa Vaa. For this ‘realistic’ character of a call girl, Veena recently did a raunchy photoshoot. And here’s your chance to feast your eyes on those racy pictures showcasing her in an untamed avatar. In these visuals, we see Veena in a black and pink bikini, flaunting her curves with an unabashedly bold attitude. “I love shooting in all those sexy bikinis. It will be one of my boldest photoshoots for the character Madhuri which is realistic

rather than bold. This is a true story of a girl,” explains the bootylicious gal. The movie will also star Riya Sen, Rajan Verma, Arya Babbar, Supriya Kumari, Rajpal Yadav and Murli Sharma. So excited was Veena that she also did an extensive research on prostitutes and even met them to understand their behaviour and body language. We guess Veena’s in-depth study for the role is reflected in these stills, and hope the hard work Miss Malik has put in for this raunchy movie pays off. Right, Bollywood Life peeps?

Amanda Berry: Three women missing for 10 years found alive in Cleveland house Neighbour rescues woman after hearing her screams and she tells police: “I’m Amanda Berry...I’ve been missing for 10 years...I’m here....I’m free now.” Three women who have been missing for a decade in Cleveland, Ohio, have been found alive. Amanda Berry, Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus and an unnamed fourth person were discovered in a house just a few miles from where they vanished in separate incidents spanning more than a decade. Three brothers aged 50, 52, and 54 have been arrested. One of them lived in the house where the women were found. A six-year-old girl was also found in the house and is believed to be Amanda Berry’s daughter who she gave birth to while being held captive. The dramatic events unfolded after neighbour, Charles Ramsey, heard Berry’s shouts and freed her. Police raided the property and found the other women. Ms Berry disappeared at 16 on April 21 2003, when she called her sister to say she was getting a ride home from her job at a Burger King. Ms DeJesus went missing at 14 on her way home from school about a year later. They were found just a few miles from where they disappeared. Police said Ms Knight, now 32, went missing in 2002. Cheering crowds gathered in the street near the home as the news spread. Police did not immediately provide any details of how the women were found but said they appeared to be in good health and had been taken to a hospital to be reunited with relatives and to be evaluated. Family members said they had not given up hope of seeing the women again. Among them was Kayla Rogers, a childhood friend of Ms DeJesus.

“I’ve been praying, never forgot about her, ever,” Ms Rogers told The Plain Dealer newspaper. “This is amazing. This is a celebration. I’m so happy. I just want to see her walk out of those doors so I can hug her.” Ms Berry’s cousin Tasheena Mitchell told the newspaper she could not wait to have her in her arms. “I’m going to hold her, and I’m going to squeeze her and I probably won’t let her go,” she said. Ms Berry’s mother, Louwana Miller, who had been in hospital for months with pancreatitis and other ailments, died in March 2006. She had spent the previous three years looking for her daughter, whose disappearance took a toll as her health steadily deteriorated, family and friends said. Mayor Frank Jackson expressed gratitude that the three women were found alive. “We have many unanswered questions regarding this case, and the investigation will be ongoing,” he said. At Metro Health Medical Centre, Dr Gerald Maloney declined to go into details about the women’s conditions. “We’re assessing their needs, and the appropriate specialists are evaluating them as well,” he said at a news conference, which concluded with a round of applause from a large gathering of residents. In January, a prison inmate was sentenced to four and a half years after admitting he provided a false burial tip in the disappearance of Ms Berry, who had last been seen the day before her 17th birthday. A judge in Cleveland sentenced Robert Wolford on his guilty plea to obstruction of

Amanda Berry as a teenager and Gina DeJesus justice, making a false report and making a false alarm. Last summer Wolford tipped authorities to look for Berry’s remains on a Cleveland site. He was taken to the location, which was dug up. Two men arrested for questioning in the disappearance of Ms DeJesus in 2004 were released from the city jail in 2006 after officers did not find her body during a search of the men’s house. One of the men was transferred to the Cuyahoga County Jail on unrelated charges, while the other was allowed to go free, police said.

In September 2006, police acting on a tip tore up the concrete floor of the garage and used a cadaver dog to search unsuccessfully for Ms DeJesus’ body. No special alert was issued the day Ms DeJesus failed to return home from school in April 2004 because no one witnessed her abduction. The lack of an alert angered her father, Felix DeJesus, who said in 2006 he believed the public would listen even if the alerts became routine.

Justin Bieber, Usher accused of stealing

‘Somebody to Love’- stars face a

$10 Million copyright infringement lawsuit

By Jon Blistein for rollingstone.com

Justin Bieber and Usher have been named in a $10 million copyright infringment claim over Bieber’s 2010 track “Somebody to Love,” Reuters reports. R&B singer Devin Copeland and songwriter Mareio Overton filed a lawsuit last week in U.S. District Court in Virginia accusing Usher of giving Bieber the song they claim to have written. Exclusive: ‘Glee’ Covers Justin Bieber’s ‘Somebody to Love’

According to Copeland (who performs under the name De Rico) and Overton, “Somebody to Love” has the same title, time signature and beat as their original, and shares a similar chord progression and lyrics. Bieber’s version, however, is credited to him, songwriter Heather Bright and production team the Stereotypes. Usher reportedly first recorded the song as a demo for his 2010 LP Raymond v. Raymond and ended up recording a remix version with Bieber. “There is essentially a zero probability for the number of points of congruence between the two versions of ‘Somebody to Love,’” the two said in the lawsuit. Copeland and Overton claim that music scouts showed “Somebody to Love” to Usher in 2009, and that his mother and sometimes manager, Jonetta Patton, then asked Copeland to re-record the song and join Usher on tour. Copeland, however, says he never heard back from the R&B star.

Lauryn Hill drops ‘Neurotic Society,’

Inspired by Chris Kelly’s Death

Joe Nagy

Man with chronic runny nose was

actually leaking

brain fluid

Lauryn Hill The wait is finally over. Lauryn Hill released a new song, “Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix)” via her Tumblr on Saturday (May 4). The track finds the outspoken artist rapping about her dislike for our “toxic society.” She shared that the untimely death of Chris Kelly from Kriss Kross and her own legal issues fueled the release of the track. “Hello All: Here is a link to a piece that I was ‘required’ to release immediately, by virtue of the impending legal deadline. I love being able to reach people directly, but in an ideal scenario, I would not have to rush the release of new music… but the message is still there. In light of Wednesday’s tragic loss (of former label mate Chris Kelly), I am even more pressed to YELL this to a multitude that may not understand the cost of

allowing today’s unhealthy paradigms to remain unchecked!” Lauryn shared on her blog. “Lauryn Hill is dropped straight science on her new record. Idk what that beat is though... I hope that’s not the official version,” one fan tweeted in reference to the song’s spacey beat. Another one shared, “Lauryn Hill spit amazing bars on neurotic society” and “Man it’s been too long!” Lauryn’s first and only solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, was released 15 years ago. Recently, the former Fugees frontwoman confirmed that she had a new record deal with Sony and opened up about her legal issues, including owing nearly $1 million in back taxes. In a post on her blog, Hill wrote, “It took years for me to get out of the ‘parasitic’ dynamic of my youth, and into a deal that better reflects my true contribution as an artist, and (purportedly) gives me the control necessary to create a paradigm suitable for my needs.”

This is one of the most frightening things we’ve ever heard. A man in Arizona who thought he simply had a chronic runny nose has actually been leaking brain fluid, and it went on for more than 18 months. The man is on the road to recovery, but what’s truly awful about this story is that one doctor said this condition can commonly be missed for a long time. A few times a week, Joe Nagy would experience a running nose that he described as being, “like tears out of your eyes.” As time went on, the problem became more persistent. He tried allergy medicine, but it didn’t help his runny nose. That’s probably because allergy medicine does nothing to stop your brain juices from spilling out of your head. It took 18 months — a year and a half — for Nagy to seek medical attention, and it was only

after he was embarrassed when he thought he dripped some snot on the blueprints for some model planes, but again — it wasn’t snot. It was brain fluid, and it had been leaking out of his head for 18 months. Nagy was suffering from a hole in the membrane around his brain which caused the fluid to leak out through is nose. Barrow Neurolgical Institute neurosurgeon Peter Nakaji said that the brain can produce as much as 12 ounces of fluid per day, but he also said, “This is one of the more common conditions to be missed for a long time … because so many people have runny noses.” Nagy was treated with a routine surgery and is recovering from that and a nasty case of near-deadly meningitis.

Lil Wayne Dropped by Mountain Dew: was It justified? By Sowmya Krishnamurthy

Lil Wayne is known for being speaking his mind freely and this time, it cost him a lucrative endorsement deal. MTV News reported on Friday, that Mountain Dew terminated its partnership with the rapper over his lyrics involving civil rights figure in Future’s “Karate Chop (Remix)”: “Beat the pu--y up like Emmett Till.”Mountain Dew’s parent company PepsiCo released an official statement stating the end of the deal and that Weezy’s “offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon does not reflect the values of our brand.”

Rapper- Lil Wayne

Fans on Twitter were divided on Mountain Dew’s decision. Many applauded the soda giant for defending Till’s legacy. “Mt. Dew dropped Lil Wayne over the Emmett Till controversy. Biggie said it best, ‘Dumb rappers need teaching’”

tweeted one critic and another echoed, “Mountain Dew did the right thing firing Lil Wayne #noclass.” Some viewed the decision as negative censorship and argued that brands would continue to ask rappers to change their lyrics when deemed too controversial. “Damn Mountain Dew ain’t playin wit y’all,” said one fan. “They’re just tryin to follow suit w/ Reebok which is wack!,” threw in another, referring to the recent decision by Reebok to sever ties with Rick Ross over his lyrics in “U.O.E.N.O.” (Remix). Wayne and Ross are just two rappers who have faced harsh response from their corporate sponsors lately. Tyler, The Creator’s series of Mountain Dew commercials were just pulledafter allegations of some being “racist.” “We apologize for this video and take full responsibility,” the soda company said. “Hey guys - made a big mistake we’ve removed the offensive video from all our channels. #fail” the brand tweeted last week.

Kobe Bryant slaps mom

with cease and desist Written by EbenGregory

Kobe Bryant and his mother are battling over her right to auction off some of his memorabilia. According to reports Kobe’s mom wanted to sell off some of Kobe’s old high school jerseys and trophies, two Laker jerseys from the 2000 season and a pair championship rings Kobe had designed for his mom and dad, so she could buy herself a house in Las Vegas. Once Kobe got wind of the sale he sent a cease and desist to the auction house and now they’re in court. In the court documents Kobe’s mom says over the years she has asked repeatedly if Kobe wanted the items and if he did to please remove them from her house. Kobe’s mom says Kobe’s wife Vanessa told her they didn’t want the stuff explaining, “those items belong in the past.” That was until the auction was projected to bring in over $1 million. After handing over the memorabilia Kobe’s mom was given a $450,000 advance, which she used to purchase a house. Now it’s up to a judge to decide who the items actually belong to. The next hearing is set for May 20. Kobe Bryant

Chris Brown partying with Karrueche Tran

Chris Brown celebrates birthday

with Karrueche Tran In Tow For Chris Brown, the age-old saying applies: If you can’t love the one you want, love the one you’re with. Or something like that. While Rihanna’s cake, cake, cake, is in New York City for her Diamonds World Tour, birthday boy Breezy stepped out to look for something sweet elsewhere, in Hollywood. The “Fine China” singer began his weekend-long celebration for his 24th birthday at Emerson Theater Friday (May 3) and while his onagain, off-again girlfriend Rih Rih was thousands of miles away, his on-again, off-again, somewhat on-again, kind of off-again ex Karrueche Tran was in the house to help him blow out the candles and eat copious amounts of cupcakes. Tran was all smiles hanging out with Brown and his entourage with new BFF Christina Milian in tow. Weirdly, David Hasslehoff was

there, too. As was Chloe Green. From the looks of the pictures, CB, dressed in khaki chinos, white tee and lumberjack shirt, had a pretty nice time out on the town without his Bahan bombshell by his side. The next day, the Unapologetic chanteuse sat courtside at Barclays for Game 7 of the NBA playoffs between the Brooklyn Nets and the Chicago Bulls. “I could trip a referee....#BROOKLYN meet you here tomorrow!!!” she tweeted. Meanwhile, out in Vegas, Brown, spent round 2 of his born day celebration at 1 OAK nightclub at the Mirage. If the tweet he sent out last week, “LA, VEGAS, NEW YORK! Celebrating this WEEK on to the next week! #birthdayturnup,” is to believed, he’ll end up in New York today, where Rihanna is scheduled to perform Sunday and Monday at Barclays. Whether or not the two lovebirds manage to celebrate Brown’s b-day today, together, we’d all still like to wish the X crooner well.

LIL KIM- Kimberly Denise Jones

LIL KIM SUED ‘Diva Antics cost my biz $15 MILLION!’ Lil Kim’s been slapped with a not-so-lil lawsuit by her former biz manager ... who claims her moneygrubbing, diva-like behavior cost him MILLIONS in botched endorsement deals. Andrew Ro says his company, International Rock Star Corp, inked a licensing deal with Kim back in August 2012 and planned to roll out a slew of products, including a perfume line, clothing line, vodka drink, energy drink, Steve Madden shoe line and even a honey maker. Problem is Ro says Kim was a menace to work with and

often refused to come to project meetings unless she was being paid extra for her time -- making it difficult to get anything off the ground. Not only that, he says when a project was finally executed -- like her perfume -- Kim refused to promote the product and then stopped taking their phone calls. After Kim cut contact, Ro says she fired off a cease and desist letter regarding future projects too ... and then filed a lawsuit claiming IRS tricked her into a bad licensing deal. Ro fired back with his own suit, claiming Lil Kim’s to blame and her antics cost his company $15 million. A judge has yet to rule.
