Three things you like about yourself and why? I love my smile because it’s my beauty and everyone loves it I love my long legs and my skin because it is smooth and clean Your OMG moment? I was walking on the street after school with some friends. They were talking and I was in a zone. The next thing I knew, I tripped and fell and rolled straight to the ground in a drain in front of my crush. It was embarrassing. The next day a vendor shouted to me “aye, you is the Convent girl that fall in the drain?” Outfit Courtesy

I wish I was a I’ve been angry since I was a kid. In my almost 20 years on this earth I’ve seen a lot of bad, bad things, and had to go through a lot of bad, bad things. But now it’s come to the point where I can’t go a single hour without wanting to break something or punch something. It just feels like there’s a wave of emotions that come rushing up my body and I just feel an incredible sense of hatred, anger, grief, and hopelessness at once. I went to therapy for nine months and just recently stopped, but this is not something new. Not at all. I hate my family, I hate my friends, and most importantly, I hate myself. It’s so bad I go out and just wait to pounce on someone, or something, pedestrian or not, just so I can get an outlet for this angry feeling.
robot
I wish I was a robot. Robots don’t feel anything. robots don’t think for themselves. Robots don’t have to make any decisions. Robots are programmed to do as commanded. They can’t disobey orders. They do whatever is programmed into them. If something goes wrong they just get reprogrammed. They can be fixed. They don’t feel sad. They don’t feel lonely. They don’t feel empty. They don’t feel. They just exist to serve whatever purpose they were programmed for.
I have thoughts that worry me For example, when I was in the city yesterday I saw a guy kiss his girlfriend and then walk away with a huge smile and for some reason I thought how easy it would be to ruin his life by killing his girlfriend. Everyone is talking about intrusive thoughts; I already know about them. The thing that really scares me is that I enjoy thinking about this kind of stuff.
My brother saw my blow-up doll Ok so I have a blow-up doll I keep under my bed. I have my own room. I’m over 18. My 16 year old brother was in my room looking for something under my bed and he saw it. I know this because I walked in and saw him looking at it. My face turned beat red and I just ran out of the room. I left the house for a while. I came home terrified that my brother might mock me and stuff. I was too embarrassed to even face him. He didn’t say anything but things are really awkward. Being his older brother he kind of looks up to me. This is really embarrassing. As far as I know he hasn’t said anything to anyone. This happened 2 days ago. I don’t know what to do.
Completely lost all confidence in myself I’ve always been a confident guy with lots of friends until the last month or so. Basically, I’ve lost all self esteem and confidence and I don’t know how to cope with it. I’ve been comparing myself to others to mentally put myself ahead, even when I know they are far better than me. My longtime friend has been bragging about how much sex he’s had and putting me down, and saying I shouldn’t find someone to settle down with, because,” When she breaks your heart I’ll have to deal with you bitching about it.” I’ve been trying to branch out to new people and find a connection, but nothing is working. I simply don’t know what to do.
Super Freak? I’m starting to wonder if I’ll ever be able to control my sex addiction. It’s controlling my life!! All I think about is masturbating or when I can meet up with one of my guy friends. I’m a 30-year-old female who has been struggling with controlling my urges. I’m very reserved in normal everyday life but feel like I’m living a double life!!

Is it possible to master your emotions? written by Chade-Meng Tan
Emotional self-mastery is not about never having certain emotions; it is about becoming very skilful with them. For example, in Buddhist psychology, there is an important difference between anger and indignation: anger arises out of powerlessness, while indignation arises out of power. Because of that difference, when you feel angry, you feel out of control, but when you feel indignant, you can retain full control of your mind and emotions. Hence, you can be emotional and fighting for change without ever “losing your cool”. Indignation is, therefore, a skilful state and a good example of self-regulation at its best. I think the person who best personified this was Gandhi. Gandhi was not an angry man, but that did not stop him from fighting injustice or leading massive marches. And all that time he was fighting, he never lost his calmness and compassion. That is how I want to be when I grow up.
Still, there are situations in life where you really need to dampen unwholesome thoughts or emotions. What do you do? I think the first question to ask is whether it is possible to prevent an unwholesome thought or emotion from arising in the first place. In my own experience, I think it is impossible. In fact, Paul Ekman, one of the most eminent psychologists in the world, told me he discussed precisely this topic with the Dalai Lama. They both think that it is impossible to prevent any thought or emotion from arising. That must be the correct answer then, since Paul, the Dalai Lama and myself can’t all be wrong at the same time, right? However, the Dalai Lama added an important point, which is that while we cannot prevent an unwholesome thought or emotion from arising, we have the power to let it go, and the highly trained mind can let it go the moment it arises. The Buddha has a very beautiful metaphor for this state of mind. He calls it “like writing on water.” When an unwholesome thought or emotion arises in an enlightened mind, it is like writing on water; the moment it is written, it disappears.
Why saying ‘NO’ is saying ‘YES’ to yourself written by - Ed and Deb Shapiro
Some people (like Ed!) have a difficult time saying no to family and friends. For Ed it is a genuine desire to help, just as it may be for others, but it can also be due to a need to be loved. Do you ever feel that if you aren’t there for someone they may reject you? Or, that you are somehow obliged to help, as it makes you a “good” person? Do you feel validated by being so needed?
so angry, resentful or frustrated; instead you have time to go within, to connect with who you really are. Then what you share with others is coming from that peaceful space.
The world is like a magnet, constantly pulling our energy outwards with activities, concerns and caring for others, whether its children, family or work. In the midst of all this, what happens to you? I have so much to do! The children are always too noisy/too demanding/I have too many meetings/ letters to be answered/orders to be filled/classes to teach/deliveries to be made... The list is endless. As a result it never seems possible to find time to just be with me.
Our Yoga teacher, Swami Satchidananda, said, “Never compromise your peace, whether it be to your children, parents, husband, wife or friends.” Unless you are at peace, what you give to others is your stress or anxiety. Zen teacher Thich Nhat Hanh has a telephone meditation where he teaches that when the telephone rings just wait, breathe in and out and slowly, walk to the phone, and be at ease when you answer. Then the person at the other end will feel your peace.
It is also easy to feel guilty that any time you take to relax or meditate is time that could be better used elsewhere. But taking time out does not mean it is selfish or even wasted time. Think about what happens when your day is spent constantly caring for others. Do you get burnt out, resentful, irritated or even angry? Do you find stress building up? Do you lose your temper, or get ill easily? Does the quality of care that you offer become affected by that inner tension? Or are you so used to being this way that it seems impossible to imagine being any other way? You may even believe you are not the relaxing type, or that if you do relax you will not be able to cope with all the things you have to do.
No one can make time. No one can change our habits or routine. For relaxation and meditation to have any effect in our lives, we need to make an agreement to honor ourselves by doing it. This is actually a commitment to our own sanity and freedom. It is not to anyone else--not to a teacher or even to our family--but to living, for with this we will find a far deeper joy and happiness. That choice has to be made by each one of us. We can change the way we look, where we live, even who we live with, but unless we connect with who we are inside then none of those external changes will make much difference.
However, by taking time for yourself, by lowering your blood pressure and releasing stress, you are immediately creating a more harmonious environment with a greater ease and peace that can only benefit all those around you. When you take time out to be quiet it means you do not get
When you are energized and feeling good you will be able to do far more than if you are dragging yourself through your day with little energy or in a bad mood. So, rather than being selfish, such activity is actually the least selfish thing you could do! This is when saying no to others means you are saying yes to yourself, which is ultimately of even greater benefit to the ones you were saying no to.
Entering into the Quiet
Taking time to relax or meditate is not the same as going for a walk or quietly listening to music. These are wonderfully relaxing activities, but they do not have the same effect as simply being still. Even only 10 minutes a day can achieve enormous
change, which will help all those around you as much as it does yourself. Others will find it easier to communicate with you, will enjoy being with you, and will even be motivated to help themselves more. As peace is contagious, let’s start an epidemic! There is great beauty and joy that is our birthright, and we find this when we let go of resistance and stress and reconnect with that quiet space within -- when we discover our essence rather than focusing on the content. A stressed mind sees life as a burden or constraint, while a relaxed mind meets life with dignity and fearlessness.
Sitting Quietly:
Sit comfortably with your back straight. Take a deep breath and let it go. Eyes are closed; breathe normally. Begin to silently count at the end of each out breath: Inhale ... exhale ... count one; inhale ... exhale ... two; inhale ... exhale ... three. Count to 10, then start at one again. Just 10 breaths, and back to one. Simply following each breath in and silently counting. So simple.

If you’re not willing to risk, then you’re not really willing to gain Holly Sidell
I was lying in bed this morning, waking up next to a man who I am beginning to build a relationship with. I’ve been really happy. We’re remarkably compatible on every level. And I
feel safe with him. I’ve been opening up more than I ever have with a man. I am vulnerable, I am honest. But this morning, I panic. We talked last night about former lovers, and what we’ve learned from them, and the heartache, etc. So I woke up this morning and Fort Knox had literally been built up around my heart. Commence walls up. Why would I want to put myself through this again? Why would I want to be completely vulnerable to another person and completely surrender to the joy and possibilities of love when it may just end, like most relationships do, with heartache? Seriously. What’s the point? From talking to my friends, my clients, my family, and just the general population, it would seem this scenario is familiar. We all (or, well, most of us) want a partner to share our lives with. A teammate, a lover, someone who has our back no matter what, someone that we can just be unconditionally accepted and supported by, and who we unconditionally accept and support. Yet, in order to get there, we have to risk. We have to risk completely trusting and opening ourselves up. We can never have this kind of relationship until we do. It’s ironic because we want it so badly, yet at the same time, our survival mode automatically kicks in and we want to also protect ourselves just as badly, if not more. This is also a good point to remember because whoever you are in a relationship with is dealing with their own version of this. My shutting down from him this morning had nothing to do with me not wanting to be with him, but had everything to do with me and my own fears. We all have to get to our own place with this. We’ve all had different levels of hurt, betrayal, and heartbreak. But for me, for the first time, I am at a place where I am choosing to tell the

fears and the walls to F-OFF. I’m over it. For me, the risk of being vulnerable far outweighs the risk of being safe and mediocre anymore. The fears and walls of course come up, and will probably continue to come up. But it’s what I do with them... They come up, I feel them, I hear them, but I am choosing to breathe through them. I am choosing to be honest with the man I am dating and tell him how frigging scared I am instead of just shutting down. You see, all of these things in our lives are a choice. We can choose to do things differently and make choices that go against our inherent triggered reactions that are really just protection mechanisms. And what are these protection mechanisms, really? Someone hurt us once maybe a parent, a sibling, a romantic partner, and we decide that we never will be hurt or abandoned like that again, so we create our own protection against something that is not even real!! We put up a block that can potentially keep joy and love out of our lives because one person hurt us one time. OK, so maybe lots of people hurt us lots of times... But if we continue with that wall, then we will never get to experience the joy. Ever. I am choosing to move forward so that I can have the opportunity to see if I can experience the kind of relationship I know I am capable of where I am willing to risk, to lose. Because if we’re not willing to risk or lose then, think about it, we’re not really willing to gain. I don’t want to just cruise on autopilot and have a “comfortable” life and experience. Nothing in life is a guarantee. So why not choose to ride out the journey at your top game? So next time you feel your own walls come up, you feel yourself starting to shut down, see it and observe it, and just breathe into it. And CHOOSE to not indulge it. CHOOSE to do it differently. Because it IS a choice. And choosing to feel the fear and do it anyways? That’s where the magic is. That’s what life’s about.

How to get back into a relationship after a bad break-up So, you've been through a bad break-up, huh? Well, consider yourself one of many. And now, you want to get back into the dating game without all of the post break-up drama? Well, sit back, read this article, and take comfort in knowing that you are not alone. Step 1
Go into this new relationship cautiously and smartly. Take things very slowly, and don’t let this new guy toy with you. Learn about all of guys’ tricks. Don’t be so gullible and believe him if he tells you he loves you- especially if it’s very soon in the relationship that he tells you that he does. Do not, not, NOT let him take advantage of you. You’re smarter than that, girl, and you know what signs to look for when it comes to being used and taken advantage of. Protect yourself, and don’t be too trusting.
Step 2
Don’t go too fast. This is pretty much like number one. Don’t make out with this boy the first time you guys hang out with each other. Wait until the time feels right; you will know. What’s the fun of a relationship if you do everything right away? Then, there’s nothing left to look forward too and get butterflies over, you know? Don’t rush into things, and wait a while before sucking face -- even if it kills you.
Step 3
Do not believe the “I love you”. That is the biggest tactic a boy uses on us girls that makes us feel weak in the knees and vulnerable. In some cases that isn’t true. Sometimes, you will actually find a good guy out there, who really means it when he says he loves you. But on most accounts, it’s all part of the boy’s game. You can ask around if you don’t
believe me. And whatever happens, don’t tell him you love him back UNLESS YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THAT YOU DO! You’ve probably been there and done that before with the ex, remember? We don’t want to have to go through that again.
Step 4
Don’t fall too hard again. Don’t let this guy make you fall for him like you did for your ex-boyfriend. Know better and have some strength and self respect. Learn from the past. You can always take some good out of the bad.
Step 5
Don’t take compliments too personally. Boys love to offer girls compliments. It automatically gives them a one-way ticket to their hearts. Girls love compliments, and they aren’t a bad thing, but they can be annoying and they can be bad if they are over-used. Don’t take them all to heart.
Step 6
Don’t let nerves take over. Don’t let this boy make you nervous! But if he does, try not to let it show that he makes you weak in the knees. I know that boys do that to us because we’re only human, but they don’t need to have the satisfaction of knowing that. If you can, try to make HIM sweat

HOW
TO’S
How to enjoy the life You have heard one common sentence from people; "Today, I am not happy". Sometimes people have reason for their sadness but many times they are sad without any reason. If you can enjoy every moment, you do not need to go for reading this article. If you want to know how to enjoy the life in all circumstances, read it, follow it, and finally make your life full of enjoyment.
Step 1
Get up with your positive quote: Decide on your own positive quote for life. Example: Today, I am very happy and I will make others happy or Today, I will try to live my life as if it was the last day my life or God has got up me for good intuitions. Let’s achieve my happiness.
Step 2
Smile on face: Always keep a smile on your face. If a smile exists on your face, people think you may be in a good mood. A smiling face attracts people and it also gives positive energy to change your current situation. You cannot change a bad incident quickly that happens with you or your family member but a simple smile gives you or your family member lots of hope, which is necessary to handle critical situation.
Step 3
Forget the past: Do not try to open your past history. Whatever happened previously, forget it. Just think, today you have been born to enjoy life with full confidence. God has chosen you to make you a human being for obtaining happiness.
Step 4
Watch comedy movies: It is a very quick solution to change your mood. Get some comedy movie DVD(s), watch them and laugh loudly at each funny dialogue or scene. It gives you positive direction to move from sadness.
Step 5
Make friends who can make you happy: Some people have a funny nature, they can make a smile on your face very easily. Keep in touch with those kinds of friends and also try to be like them.
Step 6
Don’t make big expectations for your future: Sometimes you are not happy because you have not achieved your goal as per your expectations. It can be a reason for your sadness. So, know your limitations.
Step 7
Be satisfied with what you have: my friend has a luxury car and I do not have one. It is not possible for every person to have each & everything. Whatever you have, try to adjust with them. If you have lots of money but you are unable to get smile on your face, this money is worthless to you.
Step 8
Go slow. Life is not a race: Try to enjoy the process of work, not merely the goal. Go slowly and try to enjoy every moment. Don’t try to compare yourself with others. Wherever you are, it’s the right place for you. Try to see that happiness is looking for you only and keep telling yourself “I have never heard of the word sadness”.

Safeguarding your brand? Avoid intellectual property landmines
BY POLLY BREWSTER
Why slow and steady
wins the race
BY GREG CONNOLLY
Editor's Note: The Grind is a weekly column that asks a revolving cast of young founders to dish on the daily rigors of running a business and how they've overcome obstacles. Follow The Grind on Twitter with the hashtag #ENTGrind. No matter if you're adding your tenth customer or your ten thousandth, being able to scale can make or break a brand. As the founder of all-natural sports drink business Amara, increasing distribution and expanding to new regions is something I am constantly thinking about and asking for advice on. At a beverage industry conference, I was talking to a fellow entrepreneur about growing, when he responded with something that caught me off guard. “Never burn bridges, he said. At first this statement seemed like a given -- that was until he added context. He explained how his beer business had expanded quickly into 12 states after having several regional beer distributors express interest in his brand. Hiring enough personnel and additional sales employees to cover all the new regions would have greatly increased his labor costs, so he held off. Subsequently, his products did not turn fast enough on the shelves, the retailers discontinued them and so did the distributors. Even though he now has grown his business and has enough cash flow to support the required employees, those distributors and retailers will no longer take meetings or return his calls. He lost his chance, those bridges had been burned. Of all the lessons I have learned this is the most important: Do not grow unless you are prepared to handle it. At Amara's
office in Berkeley, Calif., we receive calls and emails on a regular basis from distributors in different states wanting to buy drinks from us. In most of these cases we have decided to hold off on expansion, because we can't support them with sales and marketing teams on the ground. Yes, you read that right -- a startup company turned down cash to make sure their brand gets the proper support. But in the beverage industry, like many other markets, we are for the most part a marketing organization. Because, we can't talk to every individual about Amara, we rely on branding, sampling and messaging. If we mess this up, it could be detrimental to our future's brand. Remember that when you expand you must do it at a manageable speed, so you can support your product with marketing campaigns, boots on the ground and the proper support for your partners. If you are thinking of scaling your business, make sure you keep these points in mind: Expand intelligently. From expanding to a new geographic region or rolling out new features to appeal to more customers, make sure you have resources in place. If you don't have the cash flow to support sales and marketing efforts, hold off until you do. Think about your reputation. Your brand reputation matters to every person that touches your product. From your supply chain partners to your end customers, you need to provide support. If you don't, you could tarnish the relationship and your brand's image. Do industry research. The distribution model for a software company and a beverage company are completely different. What works in one industry, won't work in another. Make sure you study what similar companies have done. Talk to advisors and experts and do research on the internet, before you decide to expand your product line.
In this four-part series, writer Polly Brewster explores avoiding common legal mistakes. You've carefully chosen the words, sights and sounds that will represent your company. Those assets are important parts of your company's intellectual property and need to be protected rigorously. While just how you protect your start-up's IP can be a complicated subject, there are some common mistakes of which savvy entrepreneurs can steer clear. Mistake: Picking the wrong name. Before you think about putting any advertising or marketing dollars behind a business name, do some homework to make sure someone else hasn't snapped it up. "Run the perfunctory Google search, but also check the state registration database and look for similar names," says Praveen Kosuri, director of the Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic at University of Pennsylvania Law School. If you plan to go national, you can also do a trademark search on the United States Patent and Trademark Office website. Worst case scenario: You find out you're using a trademarked name and have to rebrand your company after you've already started selling products or services. "It's a costly mistake," Kosuri says. "You lose all the money you've spent on name recognition and might confuse (and lose) your current customers." Mistake: Not being distinct. In trademark law, there's a spectrum of distinctiveness and not every name is approved. A merely descriptive name like "Book Seller" won't likely be associated with just your business and aren't generally favored by the trademark office, points out Signe Naeve, the supervising attorney for the USPTO Trademark Law Pilot Program at the University of Washington Entrepreneurial Law Clinic. A more "fanciful and arbitrary" like Amazon, on the other hand, lies at the other end of that spectrum, and holds a unique meaning in the marketplace. Naeve suggests hiring a lawyer to conduct a search for obvious name conflicts through a professional service. Mistake: Assuming if the domain is mine, so the name is too. "A lot of start-ups think if there isn't a secured dot.com, that must mean no one else out there has the name," says Nathan Roach, a start-up specialist attorney at Ram Attorneys, which can lead to real legal trouble down the road if a larger business bears a similar name to yours. "The legal standard
for trademark is 'likelihood of confusion'." So before you sink a lot of money into a website, make sure another company couldn't send out a cease and desist letter that says your website infringes on their trademark. Mistake: Hiring your friend's buddy, the artist. You're a start-up with a tight budget, but you need a logo and your Facebook friend's sister knows just the designer. "A lot of startups do it quick and dirty instead of hiring an established vendor that has a written contract," Kosuri says. "I always tell clients to have a simple agreement written--even if it's only a $50 design fee--make sure you get the copyright for your logo." If your start-up does take off, you don't want a designer holding you financially hostage for a logo design. Mistake: Assuming your brilliant idea must be patented. Governments have patents to ensure that inventors don't hide their ideas under a bushel. "For disclosing an invention to the public, the U.S. Government can grant the owner a limited 20-year monopoly through a patent," explains Jesse Kindra, the Supervising Attorney for the USPTO Patent Law Pilot Program of the University of Washington ELC. But Kindra also adds that obtaining a patent can take years and doesn't guarantee business success--plus it can be expensive to go after 3rd parties that infringe on your patent. Many entrepreneurs don't realize that trade secret law also protects classified business ideas. "It's the unsung hero of IP protection, no need for any filings--just keep something secret," Kosuri says. A quick rule of thumb for whether you want to patent or protect comes from Kindra: "If an invention has a short life such as software or is difficult to reverse engineer, like the famous Coca-Cola recipe, and can be maintained as a secret, it may be better not to disclose it via a patent application." If you still think a patent is the best route, he advises you to file a patent application with as broad claims as possible then adjust it when the USPTO either rejects or limits those claims. Mistake: Forgetting copyrights. Copyrights are overlooked, says Naeve. "They're relatively easy to file and can provide additional IP protection." A basic copyright claim can be registered for $35 through the U.S. Copyright Office. "Most people think copyrights are for written work, but they also protect computer source code, drawings and designs," Roach says. As an example, he cites auto-body shops that specialize in tricked-out cars, "If their product shots show up in someone else's catalogue, a copyright is an easy remedy." Yet he also points out that a copyright demands a high-level of specificity. "It needs to be a literal copy of something. If someone starts ripping off writing from your website, it has to be a lot to take them to court."

How to decide if your business idea is a total bust
BY STEPHEN KEY
Everything seems to be in place: you had a great idea for a product or service and know there's a large market for it based on research. Your prototype works and is ready for production. You have a business plan in hand after getting advice from industry experts. You've even talked to investors and reached out to retail buyers. And you feel ready for what comes next, because you've built a team to support you. But for whatever reason, the pieces just aren't coming together. Maybe you haven't been able to raise enough money or retail buyers are lukewarm. What should you do? When your business plan isn't working out, how do you know when to throw in the towel and move on? Every entrepreneur has had to make these kinds of tough decisions at one point or another, including myself -- many times. Holding tightly to an idea that isn't working can prevent you from identifying something better. Here are four things you should consider before walking away:
1. Have you done everything in your power to get a purchase order?
If you know your product has a benefit consumers will pay for, you should try to do everything to get it in their hands. Limited sales can really help push a product through. Purchase orders can be used as leverage; they help get the ball rolling by saying, "Yes, there is interest here. I can prove it, because these people want to buy my idea." When I developed a technology for a rotating label, I had a tough time finding a manufacturer that would produce it. But when I reached out to a major distributor of vitamins, they liked the idea and gave me a purchase order, which I then showed to manufacturers. They were willing to manufacture my label because I had a purchase order.
2. Have you talked to enough investors, and really listened to what they are saying?
If there are problems they identify, fix them. Exhaust all potential investors, including your family, friends, private equity firms, and even angel investors. Maybe you can get creative and start a Kickstarter campaign. Realize that there's inherent risk in bringing on partners, and by all means, do not mortgage your house. When I started a guitar pick company, I didn't have enough capital to get going, but I brought on three different partners who had different value, and we were able to launch.
3. Have you thought about licensing your idea?
Before you throw in the towel, consider the benefits of licensing. Whoever licenses your idea will have distribution, established shelf space and the ability to bring your product to market much more quickly. You might be able to divide up different channels of distribution in your agreement. For example, they'll sell to big box retailers, while you manage small boutique and specialty stores. It's helpful to think of a licensee as another business partner.
4. Have you reached out directly to contract manufacturers and large retailers?
It might not seem the most obvious, but more and more contract manufacturers are becoming private label producers, as are large retailers. Contract manufacturers have great relationships with retailers, and vice versa. You might be able to license your idea to one of them or get the ball rolling with some interest from a power-player. It's hard to walk away from an idea you believe in. But sometimes, it's necessary. Maybe your timing is off. The truth is, it really could be any number of things. Making the choice to walk away and start something new isn't giving up: it's sane. You have to believe that if you've had one idea, you'll have another. Some start-ups just aren't meant to happen. But their failure could pave the way for something even greater. If you need to reassure yourself of that truth, explore the story of any successful entrepreneur. I'm betting you'll find at least one example of a business plan gone wrong.

Directed by none other than the grand dame of local theatre, Penelope Spencer and starring the likes of Spencer herself, queen of punch lines Nikki Crosby, effortlessly brilliant Cecilia Salazar and
the petite but larger-than-life Debra Boucaud Mason who gave an especially sterling performance in her role as Lana, madam of an upscale but rather suspicious house at the top of Lady Chancellor Hill, the star-studded cast is rolling into the south land September month end! Eager southerners can catch the new, and by all accounts from Port of Spain audiences, sensational Peepshow at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA South) on the 28th and 29th of September 2013. Interview Stephen Doobal | Story Amelia C. Ram
Catherine Miller has engaged the attention of Trinidad and Tobago with her beauty and her personality. Last weekend this 21-year-old captured the title to become Trinidad and Tobago’s representative for the Miss Universe 2013 pageant in November in Moscow. Miller studied at Savannah College of Art and Design in the US where she obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Creative Advertising. She was eager to embark on a career involving creativity and colour but with no job opportunities on the table she decided that this was the perfect opportunity to audition for Miss Trinidad and Tobago/Miss Universe pageant. Miller already had the title “model” under her belt, so it wouldn’t have been hard for her to transition into the beauty pageant field. She has always been intrigued by the beauty pageant phenomenon and was able to find the inner confidence, strength and encouragement from her mom to audition. Miller auditioned and the rest is history – she won the competition. Everyone is curious about what happens postpageant. Miller excitedly told OMG about some of these. She said with delight that she soaked in her stunning success and revelled in all the formalities involving filling out forms to obtain visas and signing contracts etc. Miller was also happy to make public appearances and do interviews because she wants Trinidad and Tobago to know more about her and the person who is representing them. Representing Trinidad and Tobago is not something new to Catherine for as a student abroad she always represented the country of her birth and therefore had no problem with that association for she, like many others is passionate about her country. Part of Miller’s plan is developing her “ambassadorial” skills for it isn’t just one country she’s presenting us to; she is presenting us to the entire world. Lighting/Retouching

mjarrie Haven’t been able to see or hear from Miss Miller in the few days since she won the national crown? Then you should know some facts about her and who she is when the cameras aren’t flashing their lights at her and she’s simply her in her own skin. Her interests are deeply embedded in the arts, especially painting and she does a lot of socialising with her friends and listening to music. She has two brothers, one older and the other younger. Yes, our beauty is the middle child and the only girl. She says having to deal with her brothers has made her tough. She is very thankful for her family who both supported her and kept her grounded throughout this journey and also helping her find positivity in light of the negative comments; some have ridiculed her, focussing on her race. Miller also expresses her gratitude for those who defended her, declaring to those who made the negative comments, telling them, “Miller belongs to Trinidad and Tobago, she is one of our own!” Miller’s future plans? She wants to work in the advertising industry as she is very passionate about what she studied. In addition, she also wants to work with more charities because she wants to help others. Currently she is involved with the Just Because Foundation charity and says she is blessed to be a part of that. As for Catherine Miller’s OMG moment, it’s winning the crown as Miss Trinidad and Tobago Universe 2013. She says just standing there on the stage with first runner-up Jessica Didier and hearing her name was an OMG moment. The competition this year was tough because all the girls were phenomenal. They were all beautiful and all quite capable of representing Trinidad and Tobago admirably. But she was thrilled to hear the announcement that she was the chosen one.

How to get rid of
bad breath Bad breath can be a real problem. Luckily there are solutions to it. And don’t worry, you’re not the only one with halitosis. Millions of people have it. By following the instructions below you will be on your way to getting rid of this problem.
Step 1
Brush your teeth at least 2 times a day.
Step 2
One of the high quality but easy-on-the-wallet toothpaste brands is Mentadent. It really works well. Not only does it kill bad breath germs but it also whitens teeth.
How to prevent illnesses Are you the kind of person who gets sick easily? Forget to take your meds? Haven't gotten your shot yet? Here's some tips to help you prevent you and your household from getting sick!
Step 1
Wash your hands! Wash your hands often. Try to always do it before you eat, after using the restroom, cooking, or using the restroom. It is very important to wash your hands after touching things that you know others have touched. Here are some examples: Rides at amusement parks, handrails, a principal’s hand at graduation maybe? A big one is the phone, and also the flusher on the toilet. And did you know that toilets spread germs up to 15 feet?
Step 2
Take your medications and make sure your vaccines are up to date. Ask your doctor about all precautions you can take.
Step 3
Here’s a bathroom tip. When you get toilet paper, tear one piece off and throw it away, then take however many sheets you need. If you don’t understand, think about how
you tear toilet paper. You hold the one just above the pieces right?
Step 4
Breathe through your nose. Your nose has small hairs that filter out germs. If you breathe through your mouth, you are breathing in unfiltered air that has germs.
Step 5
Try to sit as far away as possible from someone who is sneezing, especially if the person is not covering their mouth.
Step 6
Wash your clothes after being around sick people. When people sneeze, their germs may be spread anywhere from 4 to 8 feet, and these germs can stay on your clothes. So wash your clothes after being around people who are sneezing.
Step 3
After brushing, use a mouthwash.
Step 4
Also rinse with ACT to prevent cavities.
Step 5
And remember to floss, to get rid of the tartar that causes bad breath.

How to live a healthier life These days we are bombarded with unrealistic images of models, actors/actresses and professional sports players. It has become increasingly hard to fit healthy meals and adequate workouts into our busy schedule. With these tips and words of advice, hopefully you will find insight on how to manage your diet and exercise regimens. Step 1
Set a flexible goal & stick to it.
Step 2
Track your progress with a fitness and/or diet journal. Use it to note what you eat and when, how you’re feeling and if you felt guilty or good about what you ate. This will help keep track of your habits so you can see why you eat the things you do and when.
Step 3
No more late night eating. Gone are the times of late night snacks or dessert. Set a time limit, no later than 6:30 p.m. and make sure to not eat anything later than that. If you really need something make sure it is a snack that is healthy. Low in sugar and low in fat.
Step 4
Begin eating breakfast, even if it is something small. This will prevent you from binging later when you become over-hungry. A good breakfast to stave off eating more later on has a protein source and a grain source, and maybe fruit.
Step 5
Know when you need a snack and what kind. You can have snacks, or small meals in between your meals, but be sure it is healthy: nuts, low-fat yogurt, protein rich peanut butter, raw vegetables, whole grains and fresh fruit instead of dried fruit.
Step 6
Things to cut out completely: processed food (frozen dinners), soda: even diet, dried fruits - they’re sugary and have nowhere near the nutritional value of fresh fruit, bleached grains: replace with wheat bread, wheat flour and
wheat pasta, dried up herbs that have been sitting on your shelf for years - fresh herbs have vitamin/nutritional value to them and are more flavorful! It’s okay if you have one of these about one a week, but try to cut them out.
Step 7
A salad is a dieters best friend - but make sure your salad is the main focus. Using 1 teaspoon of dressing is enough when you toss well. Croutons are tempting, but they could be really loaded with fat. Read the label.
Step 8
Pull that bicycle out of the dust. Exercise is a part of a healthy life. No, you don’t have to run on the tread mill for 2 hours or lift 50 lb. weights. Exercise can be very easy and fun. Take the dog for a walk, or take the kids to a trail, go to the pool. If summer, go to the beach and walk around collecting seashells. It really doesn’t matter as long as your getting your blood flowing! Maybe plant a garden? Even sweeping a room could work!
Step 9
Get a buddy. If you have a friend (which I’m hoping we all do), ask them to join in with you or motivate you. He/she can be your jogging buddy, gym buddy, or cooking friend. If you happen to have no friends that are interested, try making a club. A lot of people want to get healthy/fit but are just too scared to do it themselves. With this club you can discuss exercises for each other and new recipes. You can even have a day when you all make a recipe and eat! (Just make sure you control your portion).
Honey
The many health benefits 1. Prevent cancer and heart disease: Honey contains flavonoids, antioxidants which help reduce the risk of some cancers and heart disease. 2. Reduce ulcers and other gastrointestinal disorders. Recent research shows that honey treatment may help disorders such as ulcers and bacterial gastroenteritis. This may be related to the 3rd benefit… 3. Anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, antifungal: “All honey is antibacterial, because the bees add an enzyme that makes hydrogen peroxide,” said Peter Molan, director of the Honey Research Unit at the University of Waikato in New Zealand. 4. Increase athletic performance. Ancient Olympic athletes would eat honey and dried figs to enhance their performance. This has now been verified with modern studies, showing that it is superior in maintaining glycogen levels and improving recovery time than other sweeteners. 5. Reduce cough and throat irritation: Honey helps with coughs, particularly buckwheat honey. In a study of 110 children, a single dose of buckwheat honey was just as effective as a single dose of dextromethorphan in relieving nocturnal cough and allowing proper sleep. 6. Balance the 5 elements: Honey has been used in ayurvedic medicine in India for at least 4000 years and is considered to affect all three of the body’s primitive material imbalances positively. It is also said to be useful useful in improving eyesight, weight loss, curing impotence and premature ejaculation, urinary tract disorders, bronchial asthma, diarrhea, and nausea. 7. Blood sugar regulation: Even though honey contains simple
sugars, it is NOT the same as white sugar or artificial sweeteners. Its exact combination of fructose and glucose actually helps the body regulate blood sugar levels. Some honeys have a low hypoglycemic index, so they don’t jolt your blood sugar. 8. Heal wounds and burns: External application of honey has been shown to be as effective as conventional treatment with silver sulfadiazene. It is speculated that the drying effect of the simple sugars and honey’s anti-bacterial nature combine to create this effect. 9. Probiotic: Some varieties of honey possess large amounts of friendly bacteria. This includes up to 6 species of lactobacilli and 4 species of bifidobacteria. This may explain many of the “mysterious therapeutic properties of honey.” 10. Beautiful skin: Its anti-bacterial qualities are particularly useful for the skin, and, when used with the other ingredients, can also be moisturizing and nourishing! For a powerful home beauty treatment for which you probably have all the ingredients in your kitchen already, read Carrot Face Mask.

Shahid Kapoor’s Rambo Rajkumar is now R…Rajkumar! Prabhu Deva’s directorial venture starring Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha has been rechristened. Read on to know why…
by Prathamesh Jadhav bollywoodlife.com
The first look of Shahid Kapoor’s next movie R… Rajkumar is out! But with the release of the teaser pictures has come a major change in the title of the movie. Originally conceptualised as Rambo Rajkumar, the title is now changed because the original Rambo series has copyrighted the word Rambo making it unavailable for other filmmakers. However, since the film’s title is already known among the audience, the makers have decided on dropping a few alphabets from the title rechristening it to ‘R…Rajkumar’ And here’s Shahid seen in a rugged avatar. The intense look on Sasha’s face reminded us of his role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2007 movie Kaminey. After playing a fun cop in Rajkumar Santoshi’s Phata Poster Nikhla Hero, Shahid will be seen doing more action in this movie than comedy. The film also stars Sonakshi Sinha. The first trailer of the film is expected to launch on October 1.

Shahid: Censor board orders change in ‘Gandhi’ dialogue by IANS bollywoodlife.com
The controversial dialogue in Hansal Mehta’s film has been modified The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has asked director Hansal Mehta to change a dialogue in his much-talked about forthcoming movie Shahid. The members of CBFC felt that the dialogue, “Apne aap ko jihadiyon ka Gandhi samajhta hain? (Do you consider yourself the Gandhi of jehadis?) might hurt people’s sentiments. Therefore, the name Gandhi has been replaced with the word masiha (messiah).
The trailer of the movie is running successfully online, as it doesn’t come under censorship but it will only appear on television channels after the required changes are made. “Yes, the information is correct. We have been told to make changes in the dialogue and it has been changed for the TV promo. We totally understand the censor board’s point of view,” Mehta said. Releasing on October 18, the movie is based on the true story of slain human rights activist and lawyer Shahid Azmi, who was killed in 2010 by unidentified assailants in his office. It stars actorRajkumar Yadav in the lead role.

Will.i.am has fired back at Pharrell in a lawsuit, claiming Pharrell is a serial thief who steals names for profit -- including Will's.
PHARRELL
Pharrell has launched a YouTube channel called I AM OTHER. After Will fired off a cease and desist letter, demanding that Pharrell stop using "I AM," Pharrell filed a lawsuit, asking a judge to protect his right to use the "I AM" moniker. Now we've obtained new legal documents, in which Will.i.am is countersuing Pharrell, claiming the dude has a long, copycat history. Will.i.am notes ... Pharrell cofounded a record label called Star Trak Entertainment -- sound familiar? But wait, there's more. Will also notes Pharrell is being sued by Marvin Gaye's family for allegedly ripping off "Got to Give it Up" for his summer smash "Blurred Lines." And there's still more. Will claims Pharrell also tried to register the trademark, Pink Slime -- which Will says is similar to Slime, owned by Mattel. That's a stretch, right? As for using "I AM," Will points out it will confuse people because they're both on the same record label and they have similar musical styles. As for what Will wants ... $$$.
Hallelujah, hangover - free beer is coming Luke LewisBuzzFeed Staff
Vin Diesel
Science, I could kiss you. Researchers at a Queensland university have invented a super-hydrating beer that eliminates the worst symptoms of a hangover. The scientists’ findings were published in the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism. Their creation works on the same principle as sports drinks, by adding electrolytes to combat deydration. There’s only one catch: The miraculous brew is weaker than regular beer, at around 2.3%. Still, that seems a small price to pay for consequence-free boozing. Sadly there’s no word yet on when this electrolyte-enriched beer will be sold commercially.
Vin Diesel welcomes you to the 'Fast and Furious 7' set As evidenced by the two set photos from last week, production has started on "Fast and Furious 7," and we're just about as excited as Vin Diesel. And Vin Diesel is very, very excited. Universal Studios posted this video of Diesel from the Atlanta set on the very first day of filming "Fast and Furious 7," which, from what new series director James Wan has stated, will take on the tone of a gritty '70s revenge thriller.
And that's all right by us for a number of reasons. First of all, there is pretty much no other director as hot as Wan right now. He found his groove directing throwback horror, most recently "The Conjuring" and "Insidious: Chapter 2." Then there's the cast. Everyone from "Fast and Furious 6" is returning along with the additions of Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Lucas Black from "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" and possibly Kurt Russell. "Fast and Furious 7" opens in theaters on July 11, 2014.

The Atlanta rapper came clean recently, telling his fans that he is addicted to lean and that he is sorry for his reckless recent behaviour. In a series of tweets, Gucci Mane says he is currently in a mental hospital. “Woke up the other day out this hospital bed & I’m so embarrassed & ashamed of my behaviour that was brought to my attention,” Gucci Mane said. “I just wanna man up right now & take this time to apologise to my family, friends, the industry & most of all my fans. I’m SORRY! I’ve been drinking lean for 10-plus years & I must admit it has destroyed me. I wanna be the first rapper to admit I’m addicted to lean & that shit ain’t no joke. McCurdy was supposed to host a big show in NYC this weekend -- Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play, where the network goes dark for 3 hours and kids are encouraged to get out and play. We're told she's cancelled the gig. Debra had been battling breast cancer for 17 years. It went into remission but returned and spread throughout her body, including her brain in 2010.
