HOTTY

Three things you like about yourself and why? 1. I like my body structure 2. I love that I can draw 3. I like that I can find a silver lining or glimpse of happiness in a storm What is your OMG moment? When I realized I was afraid of heights I was doing rock climbing with my coworkers in a gym in Chaguanas and when I reached the top.....I was afraid to climb down. I found myself contemplating how to climb to the third floor. I actually clung to the spot by the buzzer for approximately 15 minutes until a gym instructor could've reach by my side and carry me safely to the ground. LOLLLL!!! Makeup Artists

‘NP’
Bully
When I was about six years old, when people used “np” in online chat, I thought it meant “nope”. I then proceeded to curse them out. When I learned it meant “no problem”, I started thinking about how confused those people must have been.
Anonymously, I made someone feel bad on Facebook. I didn’t mean to, but online, it’s easy for what you say to get taken the wrong way. I can’t tell her because then I won’t be anonymous anymore. But I do wish I had never said anything.
I am truly a sex addict. All I think about is sex. My sex drive is incredibly high. A lot of things turn me on which make my addiction worse. Is there a way to control myself ? Or control my sex drive?
Imaginary Boyfriend
Directionally Impaired? I’m somewhat ashamed of this. I have no idea why, but I just cannot seem to intuitively grasp it. While I can discern the difference, I don’t really have a direct knowledge of “left” or “right”, i.e. the words themselves don’t have any direct correlation, in my mind, to the concepts/directions themselves.
I’m 20 and I have an imaginary boyfriend. I’ve grown way too attached to this figment of my imagination and it’s very hard to let him go as he’s better than any guy I could ever get in real life (I've never had a relationship or come close). He is almost constantly there to provide commentary, conversation, an imaginary hug/ cuddle and I’m ashamed to admit it...

How to Have a
Safe Relationship
Step 1
Love someone
the way he is Step 1
Be ready to commit. Once you make up your mind there’s commitment let him know how you feel. Describe in words exactly what he really means to you. Let him know that he is special to you and that you love him just the way he is. It makes him safe and happy in a way he never has before.
Step 2
Have a little faith in love. When things are not okay and he says cruel things to you, he acts like he is crazy or whatever, try to understand. Give him some space and be patient. Say, “I love this person. He is still the person I fell in love with. He hurts me now but my love is stronger than this. And I am more mature than this, so I will not let small things come between us”.
Step 3
Don’t hope for anything in return. He may not feel like you do. Life is not fair. You care about every detail about him and you are ready to give everything to him, but he may never even like you a little. You may be ditched, pushed away or worse, humiliated. Prepare for this. Don’t set your hopes high. He may never like you in the way you like him, but he will surely feel your eternal love for him and see how lucky he is someday.
Step 4
Know that he is not perfect. He may not turn out as you hoped he’d be. So what? Are you going to be angry with him and leave him just because he’s not someone you thought he’d be? He is just a human being and still deserves to be loved.
should anything go wrong. Don't go back to this person’s place until you are sure you know them well enough.
Heed any early warning signs in a relationship. If there are any signs that the person you are with might be volatile, easily angered, flares up without provocation, throws things, has tantrums, etc., then move on before you're stuck deeper. Listen to your inner voice and heed it.
Date with friends. Until you feel more reassured, date as a group or with another couple. If he or she doesn’t like this, then don't keep dating them.
Step 2
Step 5
Ask other people what they know of this person before getting more involved. If several people warn you off, then it’s important to listen. On the other hand, if everyone speaks glowingly of this person, then you’re onto something good.
Step 3
Date in public. Don’t put yourself in a position of being harmed
Step 4
Keep your cellphone with you at all times and always know where quick exits are. If you need to get away from the person for any reason, you will feel reassured by knowing that you have lines of escape.

Saying
Goodbye to Friends
Step 1-
Plan an appropriate time to talk before the departure. Choose an enjoyable occasion––maybe over dinner, strolling down by your favourite waterfront or spending time together doing something both of you have always enjoyed. Remember that this is about making beautiful last memories for both of you to hold on to.
Step 2 -
HOW
Talk about the good times you’ve had. Recount your funniest stories. Dig deep into your past: the things you’ve done together, the things that happened while you were friends, how you met.
TO’S
Step 3 -
Tell your friend how much he or she means to you. Our friends tend to hold some of our most special
Step 1-
Instead of criticising others, try to understand them. Step back, try to see things from their perspective, and figure out why they do what they do.
Step 2 -
Ask yourself: if I were under similar circumstances as they, and endowed with the same temperament as they, is it not possible that I would have done the same thing as they did?
Step 3 -
Think back of all the mistakes you have made in your life. Then consider: who am I to cast stones?
Step 4 -
Strengthen your character and self-control. Hold back an acrid tongue.
Step 5 -
Be sympathetic, tolerant, kind and forgiving.
Step 6 -
Stop expecting too much from others. Realise that no one is perfect and all of life is a learning curve. Appreciate all the good things that others have done. Speak ill of no one, and speak of all the good you know of everyone.
Step 7 -
To effect change and improvement in others, begin with yourself. It is far less dangerous than criticising others, and more profitable. Don’t attempt to remove a mote from your brother’s eye, when a beam is in your own eye. First cast out the mote out of your own eye, then you will see clearly to cast out the mote out of your brother’s eye.
relationships, they are the ones with whom we share our thoughts and feelings and enjoy similar interests together. Our friends make life more pleasant.
Step 4 -
Make plans to stay in touch. Try to commit to something concrete so that communication doesn’t slip away. For example, you can commit to doing one Skype chat a week to catch up.
Step 5 -
Make your goodbye personal. Stay with your friend for as long as you can. Before you leave, and when you leave, give them a hug, and say “It’s not goodbye, it’s just... farewell until we meet again”. You’ll hopefully see each other again someday.
Stop Criticising

Interview by Stephen Doobal | Written by Amelia C Ramjarrie
PAGE 20 • OMG Magazine | Thursday 16 May, 2013
What is striking about Hans des Vignes? He’s professional, openminded and talented. Hans is one of the well-known media personalities in Trinidad and Tobago. Currently, he works at 94.1 FM with co-host Sunny Bling, producer of the programme Second Stage, and is also involved in Carnival TV – a live online broadcast. Hans’ journey as a media personality began at age 16 when he joined a DJ unit called The Militant Crew. The group’s skills grew and within one year they earned a spot on the now-defunct 98.9 Yes FM. The group eventually broke up when some members formed a television production company, Militainment Limited. Hans, however, maintained his passion for the media and continued to work at the radio station as an on-air personality until the station was shut down in 2004.

He took the next step in his journey as a professional by going to work as a production assistant at E-Zone Entertainment where he acquired priceless television production and hosting skills. He is very thankful for Lisa Wickham who gave him this opportunity at E-Zone. He said she never held back, teaching him all she knew. After a month at E-Zone he successfully landed a job hosting Party Flava Face-Off in 2006 which aired on Synergy TV. When the Party Flava series ended Synergy TV offered him a job which involved hosting and producing shows like Synergy TV Super Model, Synergy Soca Stars and De Scene. He was then offered a spot on Boom Champions 94.1FM. Hans is among those who want to face the world on their own terms, so in 2009 he decided to pursue his own independent goals. He joined forces with a former manager of Synergy TV and founded Hand to Hand Productions. Hans is now expanding his entertainment career by producing programmes including Second Stage and hosting shows like Rating C and Digicel Rising Stars. When OMG magazine chatted with Hans and asked him how he was able to accomplish so much, he said persistence and open-mindedness was the key. He also stated how it important it was to find

positives in criticism because it aided his growth in the field. Hans is also very thankful for the many opportunities that came his way and for his mom letting him choose his career path and not rejecting his dream of entering the entertainment industry. He says he plans to stay in the entertainment field because it’s his passion. He would also like to present news like CCN TV6’s Samantha John and have his own television station because he wants more local content on air. He said the right producers must work with the right sales representatives in an appropriate environment. He wants such a project to move forward and give us the joy and excitement that comes with watching high quality local programming. As for Hans’ OMG moment, “It was the first time someone came to me and told me that they saw me in a gay porn video. The guy resembled me but eventually the rumours died because people realised it wasn’t me. It was a learning experience, just a lesson in entertainment. OMG!”

Brad Lee 25, Belmont, BMX Flatland Rider Interview by Stephen Doobal Written by Amelia C Ramjarrie
Most people enjoy riding their bicycles but Brad Lee is on a different level of pleasure where his wheels are concerned. The words “addicted” or “obsessed” may be appropriate to describe his relationship with his BMX machine. At the age of 16 Brad encountered some young men doing tricks with their BMX bicycles and was hooked. In the summer of 2004, he got his first bicycle and embarked on what would be the start of his BMX addiction/ obsession. He described it as being difficult at first but after a lot of practice he became one of the top-notch BMX riders in Trinidad and Tobago. He excelled in flatland tricks and he soon began to perform and compete. He has performed many times for children and did his thing at NAPA for the 2009 Commonwealth summit in Trinidad. One of Brad’s recent achievements was to represent Trinidad and Tobago in the 2012 Caribbean Freestyle Association’s competition where he placed eighth. His BMX addiction/obsession notwithstanding Brad has a job at Bulldog’s Computer Service. In his free time he enjoys social networking, photography, graphic designing, video shoots and editing. As for his OMG moment, Brad says he is glad that BMX sports are now recognised. It’s great for him and for the country. He says he finds great joy in his ability to showcase his skills and tricks to foreigners, so that they will become interested and will want to come to this country to experience all it has to offer.

Filmmaker Rao to release awardwinning movie in association with UTV Going by the kind of films that Kiran Rao has made and worked on in the past, she seems like a person who would support independent cinema. So when we heard that the Dhobi Ghat director has selected the awardwinning film Ship of Theseus to be the first one that her production house will release in India, we weren’t too surprised.
Click the button to view Ship Of Theseus Teaser
The movie, directed by Anand Gandhi, explores various human values through three characters – an experimental photographer, an ailing intellectual monk and a young stockbroker. The film has been a favourite at festivals and it has won a bunch of honours including the Best Cinematography award at the Tokyo International Film Festival and the Jury Award for Technical Excellence at the Mumbai International Film Festival. UTV Motion Pictures will be partnering with Rao to release the film. And we’d also hope to see some project by Kiran that she is involved in right from the start rather than buy out films after they’ve won numerous mentions at festivals across the globe. However, this is one movie we can’t wait to watch! The film hits the screens on June 19.

Is Ranveer Singh a better actor than Ranbir Kapoor? BL Anniversary Special:
BollywoodLife readers seem to think so… Competition is heating up for heart throb Ranbir Kapoor, with his Bandra bestie Ranveer Singh threatening to overtake him in terms of popularity. Reading from the comments posted by Bollywoodlife readers on this article, we thought viewers are watching the two stars pretty closely and know who is capable of doing what on celluloid. And they think Ranveer is a better choice to play Kareena Kapoor’s brother in Zoya Akhtar’s film than her real-life cousin Ranbir. Reader maihra commented, “Ranveer Singh is much better actor than overrated Ranbir Kapoor. Kapoor is 5 years older
than Ranveer. It’s better to play a brother rather than lover boy.” Do you agree? Some feel Ranveer has got the charisma that Ranbir lacks. “Ranbir better than Ranveer? Lol. Ranveer just got the charisma that Ranbir doesn’t and Ranbir is way overrated anyway. It wouldn’t be a surprise if after few years Ranveer goes ahead in terms of fan base.” Who do you think is a better actor – Ranveer Singh or Ranbir Kapoor?

Kalifa Damani 23 years, Chaguanas
Combine the arts, humanities, media and psychology and you will get the elements of one of Kalifa Damani’s main goals – the use of her talent and her education, incorporated into books and educational programmes, to help children develop confidence and self esteam. Kalifa attended Carapichaima RC School, then St Augustine Girls’ High School where she completed her secondary school education, writing her CAPE exams in 2008. In that year she won a national scholarship in Visual Arts. This was no surprise since she had already impressed many with her exceptional art. She can be justifiably described as one of the best Trinbagonian artists on the scene. After her CAPE achievement Kalifa pursued a degree in psychology with a minor in film studies. She has completed her degree but this is not the end of her studies as she has plans to pursue her MSc in social and developmental psychology. Apart from her studies and art Kalifa enjoys being in the outdoors. She loves hiking because it is quiet and thus it is in synch with her mellow personality. As for her main goal of incorporating art and psychology in books and programmes to help children, she would like to use the combination to build their self-esteem and motivate and encourage them to be all that they can be. When asked her about her OMG moment Kalifa gave an account of a recent accident she suffered. “Whilst walking to pick seasoning, I looked down on the ground to cross a fence. I crossed the fence but was still looking down. As I continued walking I hit my head and shatter the glass from a window that is usually closed. The broken glass cut around my eyes. I am very thankful that it didn’t affect my eyesight.”

‘Fast and Furious’ may actually be The best film of the summer What do “Citizen Kane” and “Fast and Furious 6” have in common? They both have a 100% fresh rating on film review site Rotten Tomatoes. Granted, the score will probably go down as more reviews trickle out ahead of the film’s release this week, but with ten fresh reviews, including two from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, you have to give “Fast and Furious 6” distributor Universal credit.
It knows how to build the franchise brand across social media. Its Facebook page is liked by more than 33 million people—that’s more than double of the fans who like “Iron Man” on the site. It also has star Vin Diesel, who is a powerhouse on Facebook, posting about the film. On top of that, the film constantly updates its Instagram account with behind-the-scenes set photos. Other films that scored 100% on Rotten Tomatoes include “Toy Story,” “Man on Wire,” “The Godfather,” and “Citizen Kane.”
Here are the Rotten Tomato scores for other big films out this summer: “Iron Man 3”: 78% “The Great Gatsby”: 49% “Star Trek Into Darkness”: 89% “Fast and Furious 6” may very well be the most liked movie of the summer.

Brad Pitt’s mother praises Angelina Jolie for double mastectomy, says she ‘loves her dearly’ Angelina Jolie has received more support after publicizing her preventative double mastectomy in a New York Times editorial that was published this morning. Following her son Brad Pitt’s statement earlier today, Jane Pitt has issued her well wishes about the surgery, which was performed over the course of three months this spring. “We’re so very proud of Angie,” she said in a statement. “[T]his means so much to our family especially our
grandchildren. We love her dearly.” The sentiment was echoed by Jolie’s brother, James Haven, who adds in a separate statement, “My sister like our mother always put her children first. . . I am so grateful to be her brother.” Jolie opted to have the surgery after her doctors determined that she had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and carries a “faulty” gene, BRCA1, which spikes her chances of developing
the disease. Jolie’s doctors also determined that the actress has a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer, which her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died of in 2007. In his statement to The Evening Standard this morning, Brad Pitt said, “All I want for is for her to have a long and healthy life, with myself and our children. This is a happy day for our family.”

Salt isn’t
so bad A new study commissioned by the Institute of Medicine and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reveals that, for many Americans, there is no real reason to seriously restrict salt consumption. The expert panel concluded that sodium consumption levels currently recommended by national dietary guidelines are unnecessarily low, and questioned the health benefits of sharply reducing salt intake. While recommending that Americans avoid “excessive” sodium intake, the panel also stated that there is no evidence to suggest that no-sodium and very lowsodium diets are good for you, as the Associated Press reports: “We’re not saying we shouldn’t be lowering excessive salt intake,” said Dr. Brian Strom of the University of Pennsylvania, who led the IOM committee. But below
2,300 mg a day, “there is simply a lack of data that shows it is beneficial.” The average American consumes more than 3,400 mg of sodium a day, equivalent to 1 ½ teaspoons. Current U.S. dietary guidelines say most people should limit that to 2,300 mg a day, while certain people — those older than 50, AfricanAmericans, and people with high blood pressure, diabetes or chronic kidney disease — should aim for just 1,500 mg. The American Heart Association and many heart specialists rejected the panel’s recommendations outright: “We’re sticking where we have the most solid evidence,” Dr. Elliott Antman, a cardiologist at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, told the AP.
Mourners at a recent funeral in Zimbabwe
were caught by surprise when the guest of honour sat up in his coffin According to local reports, 34-year-old Brighton Dama Zanthe, the seemingly dead man, woke up last week while friends and family prepared to pay their respects at his home in Gweru.
that day. After Zanthe “resurrected” he was taken to a local hospital, where he remained on life support for two days before eventually being released.
Bodies springing back to life is, perhaps surprisingly, not an uncommon occurrence in Zimbabwe. Earlier this year, a woman, who was believed to have collapsed and died during sex, “I was the first to notice Mr. Zanthe’s woke up screaming after she was moving legs as I was in the queue placed into a coffin. to view his body. Weird Mother’s Day World Records Your mother probably means the world to you, but can you set a world record in tribute for her? Just follow the example of Matt Vescovo. He’ll go down in an obscure corner of history for November 15, 2011, when he looked at three pictures of his mother without calling her for 11 minutes, 15.37 seconds, establishing the record for “Longest Time To Look At Pictures Of One’s Mother Without Calling Her.” In order to set this allegedly astounding accomplishment, he was required to stare at multiple mom photos for the duration of the attempt.
Vescovo exhibited an unprecedented example of selfrestraint in the eyes of the good people at RecordSetter.com. They’re an adjudicating agency that has found a niche in the competitive world record business by allowing people to submit their own wacky world records for consideration. Sometimes it takes a group effort to earn recognition for honoring mom. On May 11, 2012, Pete Moyer and 72 members of Zion Lutheran Church became the largest group, according to RecordSetter.com, to sing “Happy Mother’s Day,” a little known and rarely sung holiday ditty. Ten days earlier, Moyer hit another milestone by getting 40
people to say “I Love My Mom” simultaneously. Take a bow, Moyer, for your motherly marvels. Then there are mothers who get the glory for their own deeds. Take Cheryl Altshuler, who on May 25, 2010, took a photo of her son Evan Altshuler and added a mustache on his face in 31.05 seconds, thus setting a world record in the category, “Fastest Time To Take A Photo Of One’s Son With An iPhone And Digitally Apply A Mustache To It.”
How your nose can
control your brain Your smell circuits are hotwired to those that process emotion, memory and
motivation. Is that why you’re feeling so edgy, chatty, touched or sated right now? It May Freak You Out (a Little) Yes, you can inhale fear—and it changes your brain, found a German study in which “fear sweat” sniffers showed increased activation in neural circuits associated with empathy (not so for sniffers of normal sweat). After breathing it in for at least five minutes, you may feel more anxious (and not know why), as volunteers did in a study at the Monell Chemical Senses Center. It May Geek You Out In an experiment led by Denise Chen at Rice University, female volunteers scored higher on a word-association test after smelling sweat from the armpits of horror-movie watchers (compared to neutral or no sweat). Through learned association, inhaling “fear” or “stress” sweat may make us more alert and vigilant—which translates into a cognitive boost. It Can Trigger Your Sexual Sixth Sense We’ve all heard about the power of smell
and its role in choosing lovers who are biologically compatible (smell sexy). The surprise: We can also use our noses to suss out whether the attraction is mutual (or, more precisely, if the man in question is horny). It Can Make You Believe Less is More The more powerful a food’s odor, the less of it we eat in each bite. An unconscious portion-control reflex, smaller mouthfuls help to moderate big flavor hits (too much overwhelms), found researchers in a food-aroma study published by the journal Flavour. It Can Bring Out the Perky People Person in You Everyone knows the right smells can improve a mood. Science confirms: They can make you chatty, smiley and more sociable (flowers); more altruistic with strangers (perfume and fresh-baked bread); and likelier to give out your phone number when a man hits on you (croissant).
It Could Make You Splurge on Designer Toilet Paper (and Return for More) A simple orange scent subconsciously inspired people in a Swiss store to spend about 20 percent more money than when shopping with no scent or a complex one (harder to process), found a study published in the Journal of Retailing. Forms in Nature, Light Sculpture Projects a Forest of Shadowy Tree Branches “Forms in Nature” is a light sculpture that projects a forest of shadowy tree branches on to nearby surfaces. The sculpture is by artists Thyra Hilden and Pio Diaz of Copenhagen-based studio HildenDiaz. They are currently developing it for production.
