HOTTY

Keron Doldron 24, TRINCITY Three things you like about yourself and why? Most people think that I am not approachable because I am not very loud and outrageous but the people who do know me think I am great to get along with and easy to be around. My athletic ability. I have always been good with sports and football is my game. I also played basketball. I am always up for a challenge and enjoy learning new things. Your OMG moment? That would have to be when I was selected to be on the national football team. I was 20 years old and playing during the Intercol season of 2009. They recognised my talent and they called and I actually made the team to go to Brazil which was one of my dreams. Lighting/Retouching

I drink and I’m with him

I was born with 6 toes on both feet because of pity ingest Purell

on purpose

It gets me feeling good. I can’t go to a pub or bar for a few more few years and have no means of getting a fake ID, so drinking and eating Purell is as close as I will get for now. I am under massive stress and pressure and any outlet is needed. I don’t get drunk or high. I just feel okay as soon as it hits my lips, especially the smell. I know it’s not good and I plan to stop soon.

I have been with my boyfriend for about four years. I love him a lot but sometimes I feel like I’m just with him because of pity. I’ve tried breaking up with him but he cries and tells me I’m the only one that cares about him, and if I leave him he would have no one (his parents died before we were together). I don’t know if it’s love or I just care for him a lot. I talk to a few guys I used to like. He doesn’t let me, but I do so secretly. I don’t know what to do. I’m really attached to him because we were both virgins and we gave it up to each other. I want to spend the rest of my life with him but we’re young (22 years). We don’t know that for sure. He’s certain but I’m not so sure.

I don’t wear flip-flops. People call me weird. People call me “alien”, “mutant”. It’s hard for me to find a shoe that fits me. My first boyfriend cheated on me because he discovered this secret of mine. I don’t go barefoot in public. I’m scared to go to the beach barefoot. People might throw things at me, laugh at me. I declined many possible sleepovers just to protect and hide my secret. I feel embarrassed but I know there’s a reason why I was given this deformity.

Thumb sucker who

is 36 years old

I love singing but I’m too shy to sing because

I’m pretty sure I suck I sing to a lot of different songs in the shower when I’m alone, and I personally like the way my voice sounds, but I’m pretty sure it can’t compare to my friends who sound like angels...

I really want to know what I’m in love with it feels like to get a tattoo someone who will I don’t actually want a tattoo. In fact I think a lot of tattoos I see are really dumb. I can’t imagine anything that wouldn’t look stupid in 20 years. I just want to know what it feels like to actually get a tattoo. I think that it would hurt, but it would be a nice, sharp pain. Maybe even a little cold. I have a few piercings right now, but I got those because I actually want them and I like the way they look. Maybe I’ll consider a tattoo if I can find a design that I wouldn’t get tired of. I have some “selfharm” scars that are a hassle to hide with long sleeves in the summer, and getting a tattoo seems like the best long-term solution.

never love me back

To him I am invisible. I pour my every aching moment into absorbing his wealth of knowledge. But I am nothing to him. I am filled with an eternal darkness of sorrow.

I’m a 36-year-old male. I still suck my thumb occasionally at night. I think it helps me sleep better and helps to calm me after a stressful day. I haven’t really tried to stop and don’t do it all the time.

Staying Friends

with

an Ex

Planning a Romantic Evening on a Budget Step 1

Read the advice in How to Be Romantic. Even the most “romantic” evening will be boring and perhaps even unpleasant if you don’t enter into it with a positive attitude.

or at low cost. Cuddle up together under a cozy blanket and make hot chocolate or tea if it’s cold outside. If it’s warm, make iced tea or a special cocktail. Burn some incense or scented candles to improve the ambiance.

Step 2

Step 7

Begin the evening by cooking your favourite meal together. Make it fun and playful. Maybe cook in only an apron? Put on some of your favourite music, too. Or, if you’d like to treat your significant other who normally does the cooking, follow the advice in How to Cook For Your Girlfriend. Let your sweetie sit back and relax while you cook – perhaps you can prepare a bath for him or her to soak in while waiting. Create a romantic ambiance with mood lighting, candles, your best dishes, and exquisite glasses. Then sit back, relax and enjoy each other’s company and the meal you created.

Step 3

Follow up dinner with a romantic walk around the neighbourhood or go to a local park, beach or nature preserve. Taking a walk will give you the chance to continue enjoying each other while enjoying the scenery. And the exercise will help you work off your dinner.

Step 4

Stargaze together. If it’s cold enough outside, bring a few blankets and a flask with a warm drink inside and look for constellations. If you time it properly, you might even be able to watch a meteor shower.

Step 5

Clear your living room floor, put on some music, and dance. You can slow dance, or boogie, burlesque dance, or even try some break dancing moves, if you’re feeling crazy!

Step 6

Watch movies together. Look for movies that you’ll both enjoy. Get them at the library, where you can rent them for free

Play board and card games. A little playful competitiveness will make things more fun. You can also add twists by saying “If I win this game, you have to do – for me.”

Step 8

Remember that massages are relaxing, intimate and free. All you really need is massage oil, but in a pinch you can always use lotion, bare hands, or even vegetable oil.

STEP 1 - Give it time

Right after the breakup, agree not to see each other for a while. No matter how amicable your split was, breakups are always painful. Allow time for wounds to heal before approaching the subject of friendship.

STEP 2 - Make a clean break

Resist the temptation to call them every time you’re having a bad day or see something that reminds you of them. To make a clean break, you need to learn to live without them. Otherwise, neither of you will truly be able to move on, or transition into a real friendship.

Tip – Do not have sex with your ex; it violates boundaries and can ruin your chances of ever becoming friends. STEP 3 - Examine your motives

Ask yourself why you want to stay friends. Do you feel guilty for dumping them? Are you lonely? Do you secretly want to get back together? If so, you’re not ready. Make sure you’re in it for the right reasons before initiating contact.

STEP 4 - Make contact

Start by sending a friendly email. Suss out your ex’s willingness by casually suggesting coffee or lunch. Meet in a

public place during daylight hours – there’s less of a chance for drama.

STEP 5 - Know your boundaries

Keep the topics of discussion to safe, neutral topics. Forbidden topics include: what went wrong with your relationship, any new romantic involvement of yours or theirs, and their personal life.

Tip – Starting a new romance with someone else before you try to strike up a friendship with your ex can help boost your confidence and avoid the temptation of getting back together. STEP 6 - Stick with it

Be patient. There’s a reason things didn’t work out between the two of you; being friends instead of lovers doesn’t necessarily make those issues disappear. But there’s also a reason you’re drawn to each other, and if you both stick with it, you can form a lasting friendship.

HOW

TO’S

Improving Your

Communication Skills STEP 1 tate clearly

Enunciate clearly and speak slowly enough to be understood. Get it right the first time.

STEP 2 Listen actively

Reinforce your companion’s message with statements such as, “Yes, I see”. Restate their points with instant feedback like, “What I hear you saying is...” so they know they have been heard.

STEP 3 Animate your conversations

Avoid a monotone – modulate your pitch. Deepen your voice by speaking from your diaphragm.

STEP 4 Establish eye contact

If you don’t you risk being perceived as insecure and incompetent. Use hand gestures to emphasise points.

Tip – Remembering names is a sign of respect.

STEP 5 Expand your vocabulary

Study and use an ever-expanding vocabulary to gain attention and respect for what you have to say.

STEP 6 Use open-ended questions

Use open-ended questions starting with “what,” “where,” “why,” and “when” to ensure a balanced give and take.

Tip – Manage your anger or you will undermine trust. STEP 7 Show empathy

Remain positive and show empathy. Refrain from making assumptions about others or weighing the conversation down with antagonism.

How to Tell

Someone

Bad News If delivering bad news is a struggle, these tips will ease the stress. STEP 1 - Rehearse the bad news

Practice saying the bad news and focus on words or phrases to use and ones to avoid.

STEP 2 - Meet in private

Meet somewhere private where you can talk quietly without interruption, such as a bedroom, bathroom, or windowless office.

Tip – Bring a friend or family member along for comfort if you do not know the person you are talking to very well. STEP 3 - Find out what they know

Find out what the person knows to avoid repeating information and prolonging an uncomfortable situation.

STEP 4 - Get to the point

Don’t ramble or make small talk. This delays the inevitable and can increase tension.

Tip – Be as clear as possible when delivering bad news. Avoid using metaphors or euphemisms. STEP 5 - Comfort the person

Comfort the person with a touch when appropriate, but be aware of social or cultural conventions that may make the situation worse.

STEP 6 - Answer questions

Make time to answer questions and allow the person to grieve if necessary. Offer a tissue.

Interview Stephen Doobal | Story Amelia C. Ramjarrie

A promotion is more than what meets the eye. It’s that which is responsible for a “best” fete or the artiste who is perceived to have the world at his fingertips. Seon Isaacs at only 27 has one of the most well known promotion companies around – Isaacs Promotions. Previously Isaacs collaborated with Quesi Robinson to build Studio 53, another promotion company. It was very successful since they worked with local reggae artistes such as Isasha and Mr King. He took with him this experience intermingled with his well-developed professionalism and swag and formed his own company. Isaacs said that the establishment of his own promotional company has provided him with many opportunities including the capacity to book events and artistes via consultancy. The consultancy also allows him to meet each artiste’s unique needs. An additional benefit is that most of the events he promotes he does for himself. As for Seon’s future plans, you all should look out for the new project he’s tackling for the summer. When Isaacs was asked about his OMG moment, he said that it was when OMG Magazine called him to feature an artiste he was representing at the time – Kimba Sorzano and now that he is now being featured in OMG himself.

STOP CYBER -

BULLYING

OMG would like to introduce you to the students of Bishop Anstey High School East and Trinity College East who decided to come together for the sake of making their RBC Young Leaders project a joint effort. After spending several months trying to decide on a topic, they chose cyber-bullying. Their motto is “Cyber-bullying – Recognise it, Know it, Act on it”. Their vision is to create awareness not only among the students in their schools but in the nation.

They created a facebook where they posted memos and information about cyber-bullying and they made advertisements based on the motto “Recognise it, Know it, Act on it”. They held a “Cyber-bullying Fair” in the hall of their school where they showed the movie “CyberBully” and had Skeeto and FreeTown Collective to talk to the students about self-esteem. They even went on i95.5, 94.1 boomchampionstt and Radio Isaac 98.1 for interviews where they educated the wider population about the project. The team also appeared on the CNC3 Morning Show where they had a live broadcast,

discussing their activities while getting their television commercials featured on Gayelle, TV6 and CNC3. This very busy team plans a rally on June 7 at the Bishop Anstey High School East Courtyard. All in all a very valiant effort and OMG Magazine would like to congratulate them on their work and wish them all the best in the Young Leaders competition. LISTEN TO NEW MUSIC RELEASES

Richard “Righteous” Davis born September 9, 1982

From childhood music has been an important aspect of my life; it was and is my medium to express myself and my views. Working as a security officer in Port of Spain, on evenings I would freestyle with some friends on the corner of Frederick Street and Independence Square. From there every job I had, people who had a passion for music the way I do would gravitate to me. Until one day a co-worker introduced me to Akeunde, owner of record label Jahlight Records, and that is how it all began. Now that I have the opportunity I am glad to share a part of myself through music. My singing name, Righteous, was suggested by Akeunde after listening to my music for the first time. He thought it was fitting to my message and style and I agreed. My message is love. Love in its true form, as from God to His children or a husband to his wife. Brotherly love, genuine love, agape love. My main influences are the Bible and daily living. When you can see a little light in this dark world, it shows me that even one good deed, one voice, one song

can make a positive difference. Some of the artistes who influenced me over the years are Capleton, Sizzla, Jah Cure, Turbulence and Junior Gong. Their lyrical content and the style of their music captivated me. My goals in the music industry are to live up to the name Righteous and to represent Trinidad and Tobago in the global arena with a different style of music and message. I will achieve this by putting God first every step of the way, through hard work and by ensuring that my songs always have positive uplifting messages. Each song must be better than the last; there is no ‘best song’ only better, better vibes, better quality and more positivity. In terms of musical experience/background, having fun singing with friends and co-workers was the extent of my musical history, until in 2012. My musical experience really started professionally through Jah Light Records. In the next five years with God on my side I must be a household name, but more importantly my message must be out there. My music must be the type that parents are happy their children are listening to. I would have truly represented myself as “Righteous” and not given way to lesser standards.

MAYARO The BAND… MAYARO The BAND…The Next Wave’s mission statement is “To Change and Fix the World through Music”. MAYARO The BAND…The Next Wave was conceived by its leader, Joel Ali, about 8 years ago while residing in Canada. Mayaro, a popular beach in Trinidad, was the last place he spent quality time with his dad (who passed away 2 days later); it was also the place that Joel pined for, during 23 long Winters. MAYARO The BAND was initially formed in Toronto as a parang band (Christmas music that is played in Trinidad), and was later disbanded. Joel moved back to Trinidad in July of 2010 and in February, 2011, reformed his band. He brought

to the band his extensive resume of playing guitar for huge Calypso and Soca stars, as well as for Motown great, Percy Sledge. He auditioned various musicians and by March, 2011, MAYARO The BAND…The Next Wave emerged. They play all types of music, ranging from Hard Rock (Ozzy), to Soft Rock (Fleetwood Mac), to Pop, to Soca and Calypso, to Reggae, to Parang, to Jazz and Blues. They cover it all! In keeping with the beach theme of the band, Joel has given monikers to each member. Joel is Coconut Man, then there’s Chip Chip (Vocals), Irie (Vocals), Pirate (Guitar), Walyack (Bass), Mata (Drums), Sea Weed (Key boardist), Cascabelle (Key boards), Great White (Engineer) and Current (Manager). The followers and supporters of MAYARO The BAND…The Next Wave are called Coconut Heads!

MAYARO The BAND…The Next Wave is “Not all about the money, money…” to quote Jessie J’s Price Tag. Basically, they aim to make a positive impact in every sector of society! ET3 Worldwide tube transportation project

Why ET3? Transportation should be clean, green, fast, comfortable and affordable for all; It must also be financially sustainable on a global level. THE TIME FOR A NEW MODE OF TRANSPORTATION IS NOW! WHAT IS ET3 and HOW DOES IT WORK? ET3 is literally “Space Travel on Earth”. ET3 is silent, low cost, safe, faster than jets, and is electric. Car sized passenger capsules travel in 1.5m (5’) diameter tubes on frictionless maglev. Air is permanently removed from the two-way tubes that are built along a travel route. Airlocks at stations allow transfer of capsules without admitting air. Linear electric motors accelerate the capsules, which then coast through the vacuum for the remainder of the trip using no additional power. Most of the energy is regenerated as the capsules slow down. ET3 can provide 50 times more transportation per kWh than electric cars or trains. Speed in initial ET3 systems is 600km/h (370 mph) for in state trips, and will be developed to 6,500 km/h (4,000 mph) for international travel that will allow passenger or cargo travel from New York to Beijing in 2 hours. ET3 is networked like freeways, except the capsules are automatically routed from origin to destination. ET3 capsules weigh only 183 kg (400 lbs), yet like an automobile, can carry up to six people or 367 kg (800 lbs) of cargo. Compared to high speed rail, ET3 needs only 1/20th the material to build because the vehicles are so light. With automated passive switching, a pair of ET3 tubes can exceed the capacity of a 32 lane freeway. ET3 can be built for 1/10th the cost of High Speed Rail, or 1/4th the cost of a freeway. ET3 stands for Evacuated Tube Transport Technologies. The company et3.com Inc. is an open consortium of licensees dedicated to global implementation of Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT).

Interview and Story by Stephen Doobal

Would you believe Carnival 2014 is in the air? We were stunned to find out that Harts will be launching their 2014 presentation on June 21. They will be the first of the big bands to launch. The games are definitely on and with C2K14 in mind team OMG was delighted to meet one of the newest soca princesses to hit the scene. Introducing Járdine Cherrelle Legere or “Jadel”. She brought her very bubbly and joyous presence to our studios and was a pleasure to meet. This young singer/songwriter is not only a stunning beauty. She is also a law student who enjoys singing soca. She has dabbled in other genres of music such as reggae, rhythm and blues, pop and Latin. Jadel lives in Diego Martin and grew up with a passion for music and the stage. After performing with her primary school choir and then later in church, she competed in the Music Festival and performed at graduation ceremonies, weddings and other functions. Jadel has been in the soca business for just three years. She started off as the lead singer in the band Traffik and recorded “Wine On Meh” which quickly became one of the hits

OMG Magazine | Thursday 6 June, 2013 • PAGE 23

of Carnival 2K11. She left Traffik to pursue her career as a solo act with her second release, “Tumble It”, produced by Kernel Roberts, which became an instant hit upon release. She made it to the Soca Monarch semi-finals for the first two years and feels she could have gone further if she had released her songs sooner and not in January. However for Carnival 2014 she is ready. She says she has done the work. She has collaborated with the Rama team and they have some hot stuff to release, but she is keeping it a secret for now and she knows we will be loving it. Jadel says she is a very friendly and outgoing person. Sometimes people can mistake her friendliness for flintiness but she says it is a delicate balance between being too friendly and coming over as stush – she is still searching for the right balance. She is not a party person, does not drink or smoke and loves being home with her family and going down the islands. She enjoys a good beef roti and loves to travel because she says it makes her wise and opens her up to other perspectives. She dislikes men who introduce their money before their personality. Jadel’s OMG moment was when she joined Traffik. She was on the big stage in the spotlight at so many events. She entered the Soca Monarch race and her biggest thrill was hearing her song “Wine On Meh” on the radio for the first time. That was an amazing feeling as well as the entire experience of being a soca artiste thus far.

OZZY MERRIQUE Interview Stephen Doobal | Story Amelia C. Ramjarrie Ozzy Merinque (Electric Mongrel) is best described as a multi-talented pelau. He’s a musician, a writer and an artist. Ozzy burst onto the entertainment scene in the late 80s, and is known as an iconic rapso artiste within the local music industry. Others would know him for his stimulating writing in one of our local newspapers. OMG chatted with Ozzy recently. He reminisced about his music and was elated to share his new undertaking – art. He said that in school he flourished in music and art but it appeared that he was making more headway in music. However, he couldn’t abandon his talent for art. His first step on re-entering the art world was collaborating with Gillian

Moore to create an art company. They would design and paint t-shirts. Recently he has been doing his art all on his own. He is painting his own canvases and plans to have his solo exhibition by the end of the year. Many may wonder if Ozzy has forsaken music altogether. On the contrary he has made available two products, a collection of mixed instrumentals and written and recorded songs and along with another collection. In addition he is having a concert the first week in July where he plans to kill two birds with one stone. Not literally of course… he wants to link his music and art into one awesome whole.

(DECEASED) Jiah Khan

Dharam Singh Deol

Dharmendra says his Suraj Pancholi taken into drinking habits almost police custody after girlfriend Jiah Khan commits suicide! destroyed his career! Jiah’s cell phone record shows that the last call she made before ending her life was to Suraj The veteran actor says that alcohol nearly ruined his work life until he finally took control of the situation and made some drastic changes to his lifestyle

Dharmendra’s Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 will hit the screens this Friday. The actor declares that he has worked super hard on the film that stars his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol as well. And surprisingly, the Deols who are not exactly known for indulging in hardcore selling, are promoting the film aggressively this time around. But where does all the enthusiasm come from at the age of 77? The veteran performer claims that he wouldn’t have reached this

position today if he had stuck to his harmful drinking habits. There was a time he literally was addicted to liquor and the ravages of alcohol soon started taking a toll on his mind and body. It was his deteriorating health that was an eye opener, says Dharam ji. He claims that he soon took control of his life, quit alcohol in 2011 and started learning the business aspect of filmmaking. The actor has surely set an example and can be an inspiration to many.

Jiah’s cell phone record shows that the last call she made before ending her life was to Suraj Jiah Khan’s tragic death has shocked the entire film fraternity. The 25-yearold actor hanged herself from the ceiling fan in her Juhu apartment. Since no suicide note was found, the police are trying to gather every possible clue from every possible source to know the exact cause that led Jiah to take such a drastic step. While Jiah’s friends and family members claim that the actor was not happy with her Bollywood career, speculation is rife that some crisis in her personal life triggered Jiah to take the extreme step. Apparently, Jiah was dating actor Aditya Pancholi’s son Suraj Pancholi for the last one year and a half years. We gather that the Pancholi family was friends with Jiah’s family. And now the police have taken Suraj into custody for

questioning. We also learn that Jiah’s call history suggests that she had called Suraj at around 10:15 pm on Monday night before hanging herself with her dupatta. The young starlet shot to fame after breaking into Bollywood with Ram Gopal Varma’s controversial movie Nishabd starring Amitabh Bachchan. Later she was seen in Aamir Khan’sGhajini and Akshay Kumar’s Housefull. For the last three years though, she did not work in any movies and was said to be highly disappointed with her career.

Shahrukh Khan performs raw and real stunts like arch-rivals Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn in Chennai Express: View on the sets pics!

In Rohit Shetty’s upcoming romcom, SRK shoots action sequences despite shoulder injury It’s been quite a long time since we have seen Shahrukh Khan taking on the bad guys with those blood-red revengeful eyes and powerful dialogue baazi. It’s hard to recollect SRK’s last action-packed role; the films that we remember and love especially because of Shahrukh performing some hard-core action and hand-to-hand combat scenes date way back to the days of Karan Arjun, Koyla, Baazigar and Darr. And looks like SRK is back with the genre with Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express! Though Shetty is known for incorporating his own style of over-the-top yet entertaining action sequences, we are told King Khan has done some raw and real action scenes this time around. Take a look at the on-the-set pictures and you’ll know what exactly we mean! Shahrukh in a blood soaked shirt and

ganji laughing out loud with a unit member in the midst of rehearsals, driving an open orange coloured jeep and as per Rohit’s instructions flying mid air trying to stop the moving jeep…and then the trio including Deepika Padukone posing with the unit members! Well, Chennai Express promises to bring back Shahrukh in a raw action streak avatar – something that we have been used to seeing his competitors do – especially Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn in films like Wanted, Dabangg, and Golmaal series and walking away with all the whistles, claps and accolades. SRK might be coming back into this mode after years, and even if it is only for a handful of scenes, we are happy and quite surprised to see the Baadshah perform all those stunts with the same guts and gusto despite his shoulder injury!

What the hell happened to Will Smith? Five years ago, Will Smith seemed unstoppable. He’d had a stunning, unbroken string of global blockbusters, from Men in Black II in 2002 through Hancock in 2008. A few of those hits — 2005’s romantic comedy Hitch and 2006’s character-driven drama The Pursuit of Happyness — were in genres Hollywood had written off as unbankable overseas, especially with an African American star. And yet both movies performed just as spectacularly well in foreign markets as they did stateside. With Tom Cruise’s star fading and Johnny Depp only proving viable in Pirates movies, Smith’s mix of big screen charisma, genuine acting chops, and show-business savvy had Jadden Smith, Willow Smith, Will Smith, made him into the world’s only true Jada Pinkett Smith and Trey Smith global movie superstar.

And then Smith made a strange, personal drama called Seven Pounds that (SPOILER ALERT) climaxed with his character committing suicide-by-poisonjellyfish. And then he disappeared from movie theaters for four years, returning with a Men in Black threequel no one was asking for that had to halt production halfway through because the script needed such serious work. And then he partnered with filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan to make a glum sci-fi thriller called After Earth, in which Smith’s son Jaden is alone on screen fighting poorly rendered CG creatures for most of the film. That movie just opened in third place this weekend with an estimated $27 million, behind the Vin Diesel/Dwayne Johnson juggernaut Fast & Furious 6 and the enjoyably silly magician caper Now You See Me. By any reasonable measure, it is a bomb. What. The hell. Happened?!

4 Signs you may have had

a past life

If you’ve ever wondered why you have a fear of heights or look into the eyes of a stranger and feel as if you know them, the answers may be found in your past lives, says Brian Weiss, MD, the author of Miracles Happen. As told to Joan Podrazik 1. That Old, Familiar Feeling

Through past-life regression, Dr Weiss says it’s possible to heal—and grow—your mind, body and soul, as well as strengthen your presentday relationships. He says one of the most common signs of a past life is déjà vu—the sensation that you have met a person before or have visited someplace previously. Sometimes, this déjà vu feeling is a sign of a past life with a particular person or in a specific place. For example, a patient of mine began having anxiety attacks while on her honeymoon in Greece. When she and her husband left for Rome, the anxiety attacks completely disappeared. When she saw me as a patient, we did a past life regression and found that she had been killed in ancient Greece. Her anxiety attacks stemmed from that lifetime even though she did not know why at the time.

2. Your Dreams Are So Real It’s Like You’re Actually There

Do you have vivid, detailed dreams of yourself in different times and places? That might be a past life memory emerging. As I’ve written in my book, past-life recollections aren’t always actual memories: they may also contain symbols and metaphors that need to be interpreted so that their meaning and message can become clear. These symbols are no less powerful than literal ones. Think of these pastlife scenes more as a poem than a history text.

3. You Got an A in History (Without Even Trying)

Talents and abilities, likes and dislikes, and attractions and aversions can also be clues to past lives. You might feel yourself being drawn to certain people or to certain cultures, even if

you’ve never visited them. You might find you are able to learn certain subjects or prepare for a profession more easily than others. For example, a particular foreign language might come quicker to you, while others are more difficult. Or you may have an intense interest in certain historical times and events, such as ancient Egypt or the Civil War period.

4. You Have a Soul Mate

It is very common to travel through different lives with the same group of souls—I call these groupings, soul mates or soul companions, or soul families. We seem to learn our spiritual lessons and accumulate or resolve our karma with our soul groups. Relationships may change from life to life, but the souls are the same. For example, your grandmother might reincarnate as your grandson. In this sense we never lose our loved ones, because

we are always being reunited either on the other side or back here in physical bodies. In Miracles Happen, I describe many cases of soul recognition. In one case, Michelle, whose mother died when Michelle was a small child, was comforted to find that she and her mother were together before in the Middle Ages. They were husband and wife at that time.

Miguel’s leg

drop victim

possible brain

damage The girl who took Miguel’s leg drop to the head at the Billboard Music Awards may have suffered brain damage ... the victim’s lawyer tells TMZ. As you’ll recall ... Miguel took a flying, theatrical leap across the stage and landed with thunderous force on Khyati Shah’s head. Vip Bhola, Shah’s lawyer, says, “Some of the difficulties she’s experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury.” Bhola says BMA responded to the accident with a pathetic gesture – an ice pack designed to soothe a bruised elbow. The attorney insists his client should have been rushed to the hospital. Bhola tells us his client is waiting for test results from a neurologist. When the results are in sometime next week – Khyati will decide if a lawsuit is in the cards. Calls to Miguel and the BMA producers were not returned.
