COLLECTION FOR THE NATIONAL SHRINE OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION will be held on May 13-14.
The U.S. Bishops have approved this special one-time collection to support the completion of the Trinity Dome, the crowning jewel of the Basilica. The National Shrine has been almost a century in the making, since its foundation stone was laid in 1920. Known as Mary’s Shrine, and as America’s Catholic Church, it is an authentic reflection of the diversity of cultures and ethnicities in the U.S., evidenced in the more than 80 chapels and oratories dedicated to Our Blessed Mother. This great Marian shrine exists today because of the generosity of American Catholics and Clergy, the prayers of the faithful and the hard work of the artisans and laborers who began building it nearly 100 years ago. Since this collection is the same weekend as our Parish Social Ministry 2nd collection, we ask that you use your Basilica envelope from your packets and place that in the regular first collection along with your tithes and offerings to St. Louis. Thank you for your generosity! EIM WORKSHOP | All clergy and paid staff, and all

THE PERFECT GIFT TO PARENTS | With
Mother’s (and Father’s) Day soon arriving what better gift to give this loved one, whether living or deceased, than a spiritual bouquet of prayers for them and you too. Clerical Endowment Fund cards offer a spiritual bouquet of Masses and daily prayers by the Bishop and seminarians for the enrolled as well as the benefactor. Funds raised from the sale of the cards are given to the Bishop to aid in the education of seminarians. The parish office has cards in English and Spanish year-round. Cards valued at $2 or $5 offer a year of spiritual benefits. Perpetual prayers and Masses come with a $25 individual, $50 family or $100 group donation. They are a unique way to honor living or deceased relatives or friends for any celebratory occasion. April 30, 2017
HELP ST. LOUIS FOOD PANTRY secure
an X-Series 49 cu. ft. Reach-In Double Door Commercial Upright Freezer in Stainless Steel. It will feature 6 shelves, selfclosing doors, with a cost of $3,201.53. St. Louis Food Pantry currently has 2 stand-up residential freezers and one box residential freezer. There are times when the freezers are too full to receive more meat and we have to donate items to another food pantry. With this freezer we will be able to hold more meat and be able to give our clients more food as well. We’ve already received donations of $1,000.00 towards this freezer. Can you help? Send donations to St. Louis Food Pantry, care of the Church Office, and put “Freezer Donation” in the memo section. Thank you for your generosity!

made 5 home visits during the week ending on Mar 21. We helped 3 families with rent, 1 family with utilities, and one couple with HEB cards, a bus pass, and a clothing voucher. One recent case was that of a young couple with 4 small children who had moved from Georgia to Austin to find work. The friends that they had expected to help them get established could not and they ended up living at the Salvation Army. Now they have moved into a duplex in our area, but they have no furniture or other household items. Our conference really pulled together on this to acquire, organize, and deliver to the family: $250 in rent help, $75 in HEB cards, a bus pass, a clothing voucher from the SVDP store, pillows, diapers and food, stroller and children’s items, household items and clothes, a bookshelf kit, a TV, a dresser kit, mirror, PLUS a queen-size, full-size, and twin mattresses and box springs. One of them has now found a job and their future is much brighter. Our volunteers concluded their many visits by praying with them. WE ARE IN NEED OF Toothbrushes, travel size
