COMPLINE IS MOVING TO

VESPERS EFFECTIVE SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD, Compline

is moving to Vespers! After seven years, we are dropping the weekly Sunday night Compline at 9:00 p.m. Instead, Choral Vespers with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be held each first Sunday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Check your August-September newsletter for a detailed explanation about this scheduled change. We give thanks to Fr. Larry Covington, our former Pastor, who directed the Compline liturgy from the beginning. Together, we will continue to pray the timeless prayers of the Universal Church through the monthly choral Vespers. We hope the earlier 7:00 p.m. time will allow more parishioners to attend. PASS ON THE GOOD NEWS!! This fall, adults will

be signing up to learn more about Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith. They may be wanting to join our Church through RCIA or Adult Sacraments classes. They may be preparing to marry in the Church or to baptize their baby. You can help them learn and grow in faith by becoming a catechist for Adult Faith Formation. With adult classes offered on Sunday mornings, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, you are sure to find a time that fits your schedule. As a catechist, you are provided with training, materials and support from the new Director of Adult Catechesis, Formation and Spirituality, Tom Carani, as well as Fr. Doug Jeffers and the Religious Education staff! Contact Theresa.wright@st-louis.org or (512) 454-0384 ext. 222 to get on the list or for additional information. CATHOLIC SCRIPTURE STUDY begins Wednesday,

September 6th from 9:30-11:30am in the Church. This popular scripture study program has been offered at St. Louis for 18 years and both men and women have enjoyed learning more about their faith. The first part of the 20172018 study will focus on Mary. Beginning November 15th the focus will switch to a study of the Gospel of Luke, ending May 9th. Pre-registration is required so enough materials can be purchased, and because participants are assigned to study groups that start together on the first day of class.
