Living Our Faith

A few weeks ago we heard about Jesus’ baptism in the river Jordan. In today’s gospel, Luke gives us the next chapter of Jesus’ ministry. Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus heads into the desert for solace and fasting. As he becomes hungry and physically weakened, the devil seizes the opportunity to tempt him. We know from the story that Jesus isn’t fooled by the devil’s attempts to get him to abuse his power for personal gain. Jesus sets a great example for us follow, especially as we enter into Lent. We can often be most tempted to do things for personal gain when we are in need. But that doesn’t mean we should give in. God, in his goodness, will always take care of us. Often times he simply asks us for patience and trust.

Viviendo Nuestra Fe

Could your existing prayer life use a boost?

Don’t miss your chance to attend the The Prayer and Life Workshops. PLW is a series that can deepen your prayer life, strengthen your faith, and give you a new-found peace in your everyday life. SPECIAL COLLECTION for Catholic higher education

will be taken in our parish on February 20-21. This diocesan annual collection benefits our Catholic campus ministries at the colleges and universities in the Diocese of Austin. Please be generous and help us train the Catholic leaders of tomorrow! THE ADORATION CODE WAS CHANGED! | Only

those adorers who have provided an updated information sheet (on or after 1 December 2015) will be notified of the new key code. We have the wonderful gift in our parish of having Eucharistic Adoration. We have a chapel that provides time and space for church members to come before our Lord. The Blessed Sacrament is in Exposition 24/7. Many church members and visitors come before the Lord during day time hours and during night time hours. We are extending an invitation to all church members to volunteer to come to Adoration. Currently, everyone who is a registered adorer who visits the Blessed Sacrament has a key code to enter our Adoration Chapel. Information sheets in English and Spanish can be found on the table in the adoration chapel. The forms can be placed in the adjacent lockbox or dropped off at the church office during office hours. Forms are also available for download and for filling in online at the parish website at www.st-louis.org/eucharistic-adoration
