Living Our Faith

While many focus on the great achievements of the disciples in today’s gospel, Jesus’ last words to them are far more important. It is true that they, trusting in him, took almost nothing on their travels: a walking stick, sandals, and a tunic. It is true that they were granted remarkable power to cast out demons. However, none of it would have been possible if they had not first said ‘yes’ to Jesus. He called on them and they answered. And as a result of their trust and love for him, their names were written in heaven. Jesus calls on us as well to have our names written in heaven so that we can see the wonders he has in store for us. More than earthly power and rewards…Jesus says, this is a far greater reason to rejoice. July 12, 2015

Viviendo Nuestra Fe
