Living Our Faith
The past few weeks teachings have focused on evangelization. Jesus has been instructing the apostles to take the good news out to the masses. He remains the center, the strength, and the core…however he is helping them to become more and more equipped to venture out while still staying connected to his love and his mercy. Much is the same with today’s gospel story. The feeding of the 5,000 is certainly a miracle, however it isn’t an isolated event. It is an example of what we can do when we believe and walk with God. Just as the boy’s five barley loaves and two fish could not feed the huge crowd without Jesus’ assistance, what we have to offer on our own cannot compare to what it can become through God’s power and mercy. Whether it be our time, our talent, our treasure…or our gifts of bread and wine transformed into the body and blood of Christ at Mass, when God is our source and our strength, we become equipped with all we need to help others.

Viviendo Nuestra Fe

their Clerical Endowment Fund (CEF) drive in the parish last weekend. Remember, you may purchase CEF enrollment cards at the Church Office throughout the year. Think of CEF cards for any event (sacraments, graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, funerals) and enroll living or deceased members of your family and friends for annual prayers. The money collected goes to the DCCW and they support the Diocese in the education of our seminarians by presenting a large check to the Bishop at their annual convention.
