made 8 home visits during the week ending on 1 November. We helped 4 families with utility bills and 4 with rent. We also gave out several clothing vouchers for the thrift store, HEB cards, and bus passes. One case was that of a 23-yearold man who had recently moved into an apartment with his 3-year- old daughter. His wife had abandoned them. They have no chairs or tables, and no TV, but they do have some toys for his daughter. He has a job as a restaurant dishwasher, but because of a hand injury was temporarily unable to work. He was asking for help with this month’s rent and expects to be back at work by next month. Because of your support, we were able to pay $300 towards their rent. We also gave him bus passes and information about food pantries in the area. Our volunteers concluded their visit by praying with him.
