ANNOUNCEMENTS THE HOLY DAY OF MARY, January 1st, will be celebrated with two

Masses on that Monday: 9:30am (English) and 11:30am (Spanish). All the Masses on Sunday, December 31st will be for Holy Family, and with Choral Vespers at 7:00pm, there will be no opportunity for a Vigil Mass in anticipation of the Holy Day. Please join us at one of the two scheduled Masses on New Year’s Day. FAREWELL FATHER ALBERTO! With regret, we bid

farewell to Fr. Alberto Carbajal who has been with us the last two and a half years. He begins his new assignment this week as a Parochial Vicar at St. Albert the Great Parish, just north of us. He is replacing Fr. Francisco Rodriguez, who has been transferred as the administrator/ pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Temple. Please pray for both these men as they transition into their new jobs. A Farewell Party will be held this weekend, as announced from the pulpit.

these members who are offering their time and service to the greater Austin Diocese. Deacon Rob Embry has been appointed as a member of the Deacon Advisory Committee by Bishop Joe Vasquez. The term of his appointment is for 3 years. This Committee advises the Bishop on all matters related to permanent deacons, oversees continuing formation programs for deacons, assists in the development of policies applicable to ordained permanent deacons and engages in research or work related to the permanent diaconate as the Diocese may request. Mrs. Susan Morris has been appointed by Bishop Vasquez to the Black Catholic Advisory Committee for a term ending June 2019. A key objective of this committee is to promote a vibrant ministry that will spiritually nurture and sustain Black Catholics, ensuring the survival, growth and liturgical expression of Black Catholics who originated from Africa, Haiti, North and South America or elsewhere.

The total duration of the course is 30 hours. Students must complete all five classes in order to receive a certificate of completion. This program serves as the first step in basic adult formation for all ministry groups that seek evangelization and catechetical certification. The cost of the course is $10 for St. Louis Catechists and parish members. For this course you must have the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Bible. If you do not have them, we can provide them for you at an added cost of $25 for the Catechism and $5 for the Bible. 13-14, 2018 - St. Louis ACTS Ministry is hosting an overnight pilgrimage to the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan Del Valle Shrine. DISCERNMENT OPPORTUNITIES for Men and

Women are coming in February for those interested in priesthood or consecrated life. Call the Diocesan Vocations Office to register at (512) 949-2430 for the programs below. Project Andrew will be held February 17 at St. Mary Cathedral in Austin. This is a day for Catholic men, ages 16 to 45, interested in learning more about the priesthood, discernment and seminary life. There will be time for prayer, testimonies by priests and seminarians, Mass and lunch. Project Miriam will be held February 24 at St. Mary Cathedral in Austin. Single, Catholic women between the ages of 16 to 45 are invited to learn more about Mary’s joyful “yes” to God and how that is lived out in religious life. The day will include prayer, testimonials by religious sisters, Mass and lunch. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS in Grades 9-12 are

invited to attend this year's Diocesan Catholic Youth Conference (DCYC) entitled "Fully Alive" February 2-4 in Waco. The cost of the event is $120 and includes meals, transportation, lodging, conference fee and the conference t-shirt.
