WE ARE BLESSED TO HAVE AN ADORATION CHAPEL
where the Blessed Sacrament is in Exposition 24 hours a day. Dedicating oneself to a holy hour in our adoration chapel provides the time and space to nurture our relationship with Jesus that brings us peace. At present, there are over 40 hours that do not have regularly scheduled adorers. More than half of these hours are between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. with 18 of these hours being overnight. Would you consider taking one? Would you be willing to dedicate yourself to an hour in the chapel as your spiritual resolution for the new year? If you already have an hour, would you consider a second? Ultimately, this is not about filling slots in a day – this is about our commitment to be with Jesus fully present in the Eucharist. Please consider signing up for a holy hour by filling out a form found in the Adoration chapel, or online at www.st-louis.org/adoration. The form is available in English and Spanish. You can contact Chris Ojeda by sending email to or by calling 512.413.0674 with any questions.

classes that will deepen your prayer life, strengthen your faith, and give you inner peace in your everyday life. You will learn a variety of prayer methods and the discipline and structure to practice them daily. Those who complete the program often say they have become less anxious, feel closer to God, and relate better to scripture. If you are interested, please come to the informational session on Thursday evening January 19th at 7 pm in Room 2 of Wozniak Hall. For more information, please contact Evan Westwood at (512) 294-3939 or evan. westwood@gmail.com. TRAVELING VOCATIONS CHALICE PROGRAM | To encourage religious

Each Sunday an assigned family, couple or individual will come forward at the end of a specified Mass to receive the Vocations Chalice and a special prayer written to accompany it. In taking the chalice in behalf of our parish, the household commits to praying that week for the gift of priests, deacons, sisters and brothers in our Diocese. For more information or to sign up, please contact Catholic Vocations Advocates of Austin at CVAATX@gmail.com. SOUPER SUPPER TIME, LADIES, Y’ALL COME | All ladies
of the parish are welcome to the Women’s Club’s traditional Souper Supper. There will be a variety of homemade soups, with all the trimmings for a winter dinner. Join us on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 7PM in Wozniak Hall. The Club Board is pleased to announce that our seminarian, Chris Yeager, has accepted an invitation to join us that evening and tell us about his life in the seminary as well as at St. Louis. 3
2017 AT THE ST. LOUIS FARM | As 2017 begins, make it
a resolution to help out at St. Louis Farm! The winter months are a great opportunity to volunteer -- the weather is cooler, the Farm is full of tasks large and small, and volunteering is a great way to give back after Christmas feasting. We'll be having monthly Saturday Work Days on January 23 and February 27 from 8am-12pm. We'll have refreshments, fellowship, seasoned volunteers to guide you, and you can help us provide fresh vegetables for the Food Pantry! Mark your calendars, pull on a sweatshirt, and come on out -- we're located on the church property near the corner of St. Joseph and Hardy Street. For more info, follow us on Facebook or send us an email at stlouisfarmatx@gmail.com.

made 7 home visits during the week ending on 15 November. We helped 2 families with utility bills and 5 with rent. One case was that of an older woman who looked after 2 grandchildren. Recently her husband had become unable to work because of cancer, and just two weeks earlier he had died. She has no income and had not yet applied for food stamps or any widow’s benefits. We had brought along some food for her and her grandchildren. We told her about food pantries in the area and possible sources of benefits for which she could apply. Because of your support, we were able to pay $300 towards her back rent. Our volunteers concluded their visit by praying with her.

PLEASE PRAY FOR THE SPIRITUAL, PHYSICAL & EMOTIONAL NEEDS OF:
THE ST. LOUIS PARISH LIBRARY | While most New Year's
resolutions are sheer drudgery and require a lot of hard work to accomplish, usually ending in failure, your parish library can make things easier. How about a resolution to go somewhere where you can grow in your faith, find more peace in your life, enjoy beautifully composed music or appreciate a decent, morally sound movie? "Where might I find such a place?" you may say. Why, your parish library; that's where! Come check us out! You can't fail with this New Year's resolution! The parish library staff wish our parishioners a blessed New Year in which you remain happy, healthy and filled with the Spirit.
TAMALE SALES TO PARISHIONERS!

Beverly Collin will facilitate the day. The cost is $40 and includes lunch. For information or registration, please contact Cedarbrake at cedarbrake@austindiocese.org or (254) 780-2436. 7
