WE ARE CALLED TO SERVE GOD

and one another.

“As a St. Louis parishioner, I’ve participated in a variety of ministries throughout the years. Each ministry has filled my cup of joy. Being on the Pastoral Council enables me to give back what St. Louis has given me. To act as a channel of communication and motivation among the people of God, brings me closer to the parishioners. The Pastoral Council comes together to develop and unify the parish as a Christian community. I am grateful to serve our parish, St. Louis King of France.” - Donna McClung “For anyone considering discernment to the pastoral council: please put your fears and doubts behind you and prayerfully consider it! Seriously. You absolutely will not regret it. You just may be the exact person the council needs so let discernment decide. St. Louis is a special place. Fr. James is a special priest. The people on the council are exceptional people willing to serve. St. Louis is our parish and Fr. James needs our (YOUR) help to continue to improve the church and school to serve our community and beyond. Volunteer with a servant’s heart, yet know also that you will get much more out of that service than you can imagine.” - Pete Reitmeyer 1

“Serving on the Pastoral Council over the past four years has profoundly revealed how volunteerism has a substantive effect on our church, school, and community. Seeing the selflessness of so many reveals to me a deeper understanding of what it means to ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’ Before serving on the council my view was limited to what I was doing or what ministries I was serving on but little else. It has been an unquantifiable gift to see things from afar and then--in a very small way--contribute by serving the pastor, his staff, and all the parishioners through the council.” - Peter Polito

“In my time on the Pastoral Council I have attained a deeper appreciation for the many behind the scenes staffers and volunteers who keep this Parish running. Many of the “jobs” at St. Louis are run by volunteers who love their religion & church and want to do their best for it, there is an internal reward for such service! As a friend of mine has said, “When you join a church join the church, don’t just sit in the pews, be active in it.” The most rewarding part of being on the pastoral council has been the fellowship which you have allowed me to be a part of with you, Thank You and God Bless you!” - Harlan Scales 512-454-0384 St. Louis Catholic Church & School
