this weekend (Nov. 18-19) that helps address the root causes of poverty in America through promotion and support of community-controlled, self-help organizations and education. ADVENT DAY OF PRAYER | On Tuesday, December 5th, our parish priests will be

on an Advent Day of Prayer with other diocesan priests. There will be a Communion Service at 12 Noon that day, instead of our regularly scheduled Mass, and there will be no confessions at 11:15 a.m. The Spanish Mass at 6:00 p.m. will be held as scheduled. Please keep all our diocesan clergy in your prayers! THANKSGIVING CLOSURES | Church and Religious Education Offices will be

closed for the Thanksgiving holidays beginning at Noon on Wednesday, November 22nd, re-opening for regular hours on Monday, November 27th. Due to the holidays, the bulletin deadline for the November 26th bulletin was moved up and has already been submitted to the printer. Because of the holiday weekend, there will be no Children’s Liturgy on November 26th at either the 9:30 or 1:30 Masses.

ANNOUNCEMENTS THANKSGIVING IS COMING! There will be one

Mass on Thanksgiving Day at 9:30 a.m. You are welcome to bring canned goods and non-perishable foods with you to that Mass. These will be used to stock our Food Pantry shelves for the neediest among us. No other Masses or confessions are scheduled for that holiday. Church Offices will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at Noon through the Thanksgiving weekend, re-opening Monday, Nov. 27 for regular hours. ADOPTION CELEBRATION MASS | All those who

have ever made an adoption plan for a child, adopted a child, or those who were adopted are invited to celebrate National Adoption Month at an Adoption Celebration Mass that will be November 29 at 7 p.m. Rev. A ST. LOUIS FARM WORK DAY is scheduled for

Saturday, December 2nd, from 8am-Noon. All ages welcome to join us as we harvest produce for the St. Louis Food Pantry and prepare the Farm for the winter months.

Alumni Spotlight!

We are so proud of our new alumni attending high schools across the area. Thank you, parishioners, for your support of St. Louis Catholic School to help form future generations in wisdom and holiness! Sofia Campos (SLCS 2017) received the Girl Scout Silver Award, which is the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette (ages 11-14) can earn. The award goes to a leader who is organized, determined, and dedicated to improving her community. Sofia spent over 50 hours planning and building a Gaga pit on the St. Louis campus for kids age 7 and under to promote active play. As a Freshman at Anderson High School, she continues to participate in Girl Scouts, and she now plays the Baritone in the AHS Marching Band and tenor trombone in the AHS Symphonic Band. Grace Hosek and Zach Lawson (SLCS 2017) received straight A’s for their first 6 weeks as Freshmen at Hutto High School. Keep up the good work! Emma Neidig (SLCS 2017) made the Varsity Volleyball team at Elgin High School as a Freshman and continues to excel in school. St. Louis is cheering you on! (see picture of Emma playing Volleyball). Two Alumni from St. Louis that attend St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School received National Merit Recognition. Emily Basquez (SLCS 2014) is a National Hispanic Scholar and Minh Mather (SLCS 2014) is a National Commended Scholar. 1.6 million students entered the 2018 competition by taking the 2016 preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. 12 students from St. Dominic Savio received recognition.
