KING'S CONCERT SERIES continues Saturday, September 30th, 7:30 p.m. introducing the Music of Max Bruch with a Trio Concert: YuHua Chiu, clarinet, Xavier Garcia, viola, and Mijung An, piano. Eight pieces for Clarinet, Viola, and Piano, op.83 by Max Bruch. The premiere of a piece by composer Dr. Peter Petroff, dedicated to the trio. SHARE THE JOURNEY | September 27th, you are
invited to be in solidarity with the Holy Father, in his campaign to support migrants and refugees. Sponsored by Caritas Internationalis, the U.S. campaign will focus on those who have come to our country to build a better life. The universal Church is asked to respond to the refugees’ needs, reduce poverty and improve opportunities so people can remain in the countries where they live. This campaign will continue through September 2019 with the USCCB developing resources in collaboration with Catholic Charities USA and Catholic Relief Services. In solidarity with the Holy Father, Bishop Joe Vasquez will be celebrating Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on September 27th and all parishes are encouraged to join in prayer that day for all immigrants and refugees around the world. 5
THE KING’S MEN have resumed meeting each Friday
morning at 6:00 a.m. and Fr. Doug Jeffers is presenting the Humanum video series, a collection of six short films on Marriage and the Family. Humanum is produced by our own St. Louis parishioner, Andrew Listchi, for the Vatican’s study of men, women and marriage in advance of Pope Francis’s visit to the United States in 2015. Filmed around the world and containing interviews with people like Bishop Robert Barron and Dr. Peter Kreeft, the short films display timeless truths in extraordinary ways. English and Spanish speaking men wishing to explore the permanent diaconate are invited to Project Stephen, a monthly gathering for men and their wives to pray, listen, and discern in community. Project Stephen meets year-round, on the third Thursday of each month from 7:00-9:00pm at the diocesan Pastoral Center in Austin. Men must first discuss their interest in the diaconate with their pastors and receive his consent to attend. When a new formation class begins (every three years), men will be invited to apply.
