Thanks to the generosity of James and Mary Emelia Mayne who established Brisbane Arcade as an ongoing gift back to the community, it has become one of Australia’s most iconic shopping destinations. A world away from mass produced sameness with master jewellers who have spent decades honing their craft, busy Brisbane Arcade jewellery workrooms are crafting bespoke and unique statement pieces of jewellery using the highest quality gemstones, diamonds, pearls, semi and precious metals sourced from around the world.

As one of the longest established jewellers, John and Dell Stone opened Stones Diamond Ring Specialists in 1970 and moved into Brisbane Arcade in 1989 where the business is today led by their son, Paul. Father and son jewellery designer duo, Ashley and Doug Tester of Ashley Douglas Jewellers can be seen on the Gallery Level of the Arcade busily working away at their designs. Ashley says that “local manufacturing offers something that massproduced imported goods cannot compete with.” Ferdinand Woolley is yet another master jeweller undertaking his craft in a workshop in Brisbane Arcade. “I love being able to talk directly to clients about what they want made and explain how I can help them to create dream pieces of jewellery or restore or repair existing jewellery,” Ferdinand said. James Tyler is a craftsman of handmade and custom designed special occasion and ‘just because’ jewellery designs, with his signature flare for colour and careful selection of gemstones weaved into intricate designs. 1. 2.
