pleasures
In a time where being busy is considered the same as being successful, Laura Frendon discusses whether we’re forgetting to take time out for ourselves.
I
f you were offered an entire day to entirely indulge in yourself, what would you do? Would you get a new hairstyle, get a massage or relax by the pool? Or perhaps run a few errands, catch up with some friends or just refuse to get out of bed? Whatever you choose, would you really be able to enjoy it? Would you truly switch off and let yourself indulge or would you spend the entire day worrying about all of the things you’re not doing; the emails unread, the chores not completed, the minutes not doing something? We consume ourselves with always being busy, thinking about everything we have to do before we fall asleep, waking up to mental lists, plans for the day, attempting to form some sort of mathematical equation that will allow us to get the most out of each day. While it’s inspiring to live in a time where STYLEMAGAZINES.COM.AU
almost everyone is in their own “hustle,” it’s sometimes saddening to think that we’ve become so obsessed with being successful, we’ve forgotten to take care of the one person who’s going to make it happen.
“We’ve become so OBSESSED with being successful, we’ve forgotten to TAKE CARE of the one person who’s going to MAKE IT HAPPEN” There’s no point in working yourself to the bone if you’re going to burn out before you get there. They say it’s a marathon, not a sprint, which is something that needs to be reiterated among all of us, especially when we watch so many people via social media become overnight successes.
We’re in a decade of revolution in more ways than one, from social media to self driving cars, we’re advancing every day. But the most important thing we’re getting better at, is self-love. Slowly, we’re getting better at loving the skin we’re in. So why aren’t we letting ourselves take the day off for once? Why aren’t we spending that little bit extra to do something that makes us happy? Indulging in ourselves shouldn’t be something to be ashamed of – it should be something we schedule in just like our personal training and trips to the doctor. Taking time out to indulge should become a part of our weekly routine, taking up just as much importance as the washing, the phone calls, and the hours of work. Buy that bag, go on that holiday. End the guilt and start taking time out for you. PAGE 9

FLORIDO PHOTOGRAPHY
Once the post engagement high wears off, the reality sets in that there’s now a million and one things to do in the lead up to “I do.” From choosing between a cocktail or sit-down reception, the colour of your cutlery and the size of your table features, to lighting individual candles, sourcing festoon lighting options, buying a cake knife and organising a dance floor, the list can seem to go on and on. Not to mention, attempting to make this work for your desired budget. In order to avoid getting stung by all of those hidden costs and inclusions, look for an all-inclusive venue for peace of mind. Seemingly innocent extras can often significantly increase the cost of your big day, but at Brisbane Racing Club, your special day is planned by your dedicated wedding planner, with almost everything you could possibly think of already included into your very own tailored package. The heritage listed venue has a number of beautiful spaces for you to choose from for your “never to forget” moments, all of which offer old-world charm with contemporary
aspects, creating intimate and elegant spaces for you, your special someone, and your guests to enjoy. Each package comes with a long list of inclusions, from experienced staff, your cake table and knife, and of course, your personal wedding planner. Best of all you can make your day suit your style, with a variety of different inclusions available for you to choose from, including a custom designed menu from the Brisbane Racing Club Culinary Team, or beautiful feature lighting, such as glow worm lighting through the 100 year old fig trees. With weddings notorious for unforeseen expenses, let Brisbane Racing Club think of every last detail, with no hidden costs waiting for you. All of your final touches will be completed with perfection, with all things taken care of on one of the most magical days of your life. DOG LOVER’S SHOW
NOVEMBER 2018
Pretty little thing We chat to the woman behind one of Brisbane’s most booming, and beautiful, businesses. When did you decide to start Arc & Family? We started the business from our home just after we had our son Noah, who’s now five years old. I was a makeup artist doing a lot of weddings so I always had a way with colours and being super creative. How have you built your brands so successfully? With a lot of hard work! I don’t think everyone knows, but my husband Ben runs his family business, Talbot Press, during the day. We are both up all night painting, and every spare moment we have is spent getting stuff done for the store.

ASH KEILY - GRACE ELIZABETH IMAGES
Where do you keep finding inspiration to continue building your businesses? I think a lot of things in life can be inspirational, whether it’s a place or a person or a plant. I love the colour pink and always have, so am drawn to anything soft and feminine. I’ve always been super girly so I think that has just evolved to my pink palace. What can we expect from you in 2019? I think if I said anything Ben would kill me as we
have so much on our plates, but I would love to grow el’ rosa - you’ll have to follow along our journey to see where this pink life takes us. ARC & FAMILY 85 JAMES ST, FORTITUDE VALLEY P 0448 637 054 ARCANDFAMILY.COM.AU

THE
perfect potion We chat to the man behind Australia’s most successful aromatherapy company about the benefits, misconceptions, and future of essential oils. WORDS LAURA FRENDON Aromatherapy is an extremely hot topic right now, with oil blends, diffusers, and organic skincare on high rotation for many. While there are those who are skeptical about its benefits, founder and owner of Perfect Potion, Salvatore Battaglia, is on a mission to change how the world looks at aromatherapy. After discovering his passion for natural therapies in his first year out of university, Salvatore decided to follow his dream full time and leave his position as an electrical engineer. His vision for the business was to allow it to naturally enhance people’s lives, and deliver consistency, certainty, and quality. The best part? All of his products are made right here in Brisbane. While Salvatore admits he knows many people are skeptical of the benefits of essential oils, he believes once someone has experienced them, they’ll soon come to fall in

love with aromatherapy. “When essential oils are used holistically, they can become the most powerful natural remedy to heal and nurture the body, mind and soul, however it’s important that aromatherapy be promoted with integrity and not as a magic elixir that can cure everything.” Perfect Potion products are now stocked in stores Australia wide, with the company recently being awarded the National Retail Associations’s Customer Experience Award. Coming into summer, Salvatore recommends trying out the new essential oils blends coming

kitchen table We chat to Brad Krauskopf, the founder of coworking space Hub, about how he built his Australia-wide business from a single idea. When did you have the idea to start Hub? In Madrid, Spain in 2008 was when I first came across coworking. What was the definitive “success” moment for you? Seeing the customers grow their own successful businesses and hearing that Hub helped them attract and retain staff. What can people expect from Hub in Brisbane? Hub Anzac Square will be the first large scale premium coworking space in Brisbane. It has a range of private and collaborative options for teams of 1-20, and includes a café, rooftop, end-of-trip facilities, a podcast room, relaxation spaces, a fitness room and an extensive kitchen. Eye catching We’ve picked out the latest and most stylish frames and eyeshadow looks to pair up with your eye colour this party season.
BLUE EYES Gold shimmers pair exquisitely with blue eyes, bringing out their glistening tones and accentuating their brightness. For something light, sweep a gold shimmer across the lid and into the inner corners, and for an evening look, mix with dark brown shades and add a slick of brown eyeliner. Classic black frames match blue eyes perfectly, giving the face a striking look, but still complementing your eyes’ beautiful colours. For a statement look, opt for thick frames with coloured details, but for more casual occasions, choose a thinner, more simple frame to lightly complement your features..
Madonna Rigney Caroline Abram frames $545
HAZEL EYES Maroon and mauve colours go perfectly with hazel eyes, allowing them to “pop” behind a stunning pair of frames. Pair this eyeshadow look with rosy cheeks, a dark lip and a glowing complexion. Blue frames will pair perfectly with hazel eyes, allowing them to be accentuated rather than hidden. They’ll also beautifully complement the maroon shadow, perfect for an evening dinner or a night at the theatre. If dark blue isn’t your colour, opt for a simple, sky blue instead.
Madonna Rigney Niloca frames $645
BROWN EYES While blue might seem like a terrifying colour to put on your eyes, blue shadow can actually help to make brown eyes pop. If sweeping it all over your lid isn’t your thing, you can always work it softly into a brown crease colour or smudge it under your lower lash line. A gold coloured frame works perfectly with brown eyes, and will also complement the blue shadow. A touch of shimmer will bring out the golden tones of the frames, without taking away from your striking eye look. A gold frame is also extremely versatile, suiting both day and night time events. For something a little different, choose a frame with an added accent of colour.
GREEN EYES Bronze colours go hand in hand with green eyes, allowing their rich, emerald tones to stand out. A bronze with a touch of shimmer is great for day time glam. Different shades of pink coloured frames work great with green eyes, with blushes and baby pinks suited to natural, daytime looks, and darker, red undertone frames making a great accessory to an evening look. If pink isn’t your thing, opt for clear frames with pink accents.

As much as we love a glowing tan, nothing’s sexier than taking care of your skin. While we probably sound a bit like an overprotective mother, we’re big advocates of protecting our skin when it comes to sun exposure. street style We’re a bit nosy when it comes to fashion, and are curious to know what trends Brisbanites are loving this spring. Our photographer Corrina took to the streets to seek out our city’s most stylish.
Jahlia (Fairfield) is rocking her own personal style, wearing a Uniqlo hair wrap and button up, Quay sunglasses, Bianca Mavrick earrings, Topshop jumpsuit, Soulland bag and Nike shoes.
???
Brook (Auchenflower) is looking oh-so chic in this stunning dress from one of our favourite Aussie designers, Bec & Bridge. She’ll be rocking bright pinks all spring summer.
Julie (Nundah) is giving us major spring vibes in this Bardot top, Bec & Bridge sunglasses, Sportsgirl belt, and a denim skirt she stole from her sister’s wardrobe.

Calibre Ivory linen blend blazer $599
Tommy Hilfiger Gents Damon Multifunction Watch $329
Brand isn’t important, it’s how you feel wearing it. PAGE 24
What is one menswear trend you’re loving at the moment? As we get into warmer weather, I’m really enjoying the reintroduction of the linen blazer and pants. If I need an outfit quickly, I go to… Calibre. Simple, fitted pieces that can be worn and styled in various ways. What is one trend you can’t get on board with? I can’t get on board with the “long beard” trend. A few friends grow and love them, but they’re just not for me. Ties or bow ties? Ties, unless it’s a black tie event; then it’s a sharp black bow tie all the way. 3 words to describe your personal style? Clean, fitted, simple. Whose style do you admire? David Beckham because he’s always on the money. The man can do no wrong. What is one brand you could wear for the rest of your life? I tend to steer clear of the larger, well-known brands, opting to remove logos from clothing. But, if I had to wear one brand it would probably be Zara, mainly due to the large collections, range of simple clothing and consistent seasonal changes.
Dior Sauvage Eau De Toilette 100ml $149
The Tech Styler Convertible Travel Bag $399
Is there any hair/face products you’re loving at the moment? Tom Cole hair products are going great at the moment and I’ve recently become a little obsessed with face care goods from House of Maxx. Their cleansing cream and high classic by Dermaviduals products are the best I’ve used. What are 5 things every man should have in his wardrobe? • A well fitted navy blue suit & white button up shirt. • Cologne to compliment every event. • A pair of slim denim jeans or chinos. • A decent watch (the brand isn’t important, just how you feel when you wear it). • A pair of ‘go-to’ shoes that run with everything and anything. Boots and loafers are the big winners at the moment. NOVEMBER 2018

DECODING
DRESS CODES We asked Fashion Influencers Victoria Liddell and Ella Golding for their advice on how to dress for every occasion this party season. VICTORIA LIDDELL @victorias_beautyedit BLACK TIE This is an opportunity to really go for broke (not literally though!). I would opt for a chic floor-length gown in a bold red or champagne colour, which is so on trend for the moment. I’m also not afraid to wear black, it’s a classic after all! COCKTAIL For me cocktail means having fun with interesting colours or prints. I love to go for a figure hugging midi or the complete opposite, something short and glitzy (I’m talking sequins). Is it better to be over-dressed or under-dressed? I feel more confident and chic when over-dressed. You don’t want to be the most under-dressed person in the room, but as long as you feel amazing in whatever you’re wearing, you do you.

I find the line between cocktail and smart casual hard to define, as I’m always dressed up for events. However, for a true smart casual I would pick shorts or a skirt, paired with a blouse or blazer, heels or ballet flats depending on the event. Sheike Bravery Short $109.95

FORMAL There definitely is a distinction between formal and black tie, that being it is not essential to wear an evening gown or tuxedo. To a formal event, I step up from the normal cocktail standards by wearing a longer hemline or dress paired with more opulent jewellery, heels and heavier makeup. Opt for sleeker lines, classic shapes and glamorous touches. What’s your go-to outfit when you’re not sure what to wear? Always a modest cocktail dress and heels, you can never go wrong. Worth driving for We tasted some of the amazing plates being served at the CBD’s newest spot for meals between early morning coffee and evening cocktails.
T
he world’s first petrol powered vehicle, both elegant and functional, was aptly named the Motorwagen, and is now the inspiration behind the newest dining spot to hit the Brisbane CBD. Operating alongside Mercedes-Benz Brisbane, it too is both elegant and functional, with gold detailing, wooden furniture, ample seating, and touches of greenery and maroon. While offering a comfortable and laid back vibe, Motorwagen is a step above your average casual dining, with a menu of classics and twists with a European style, all produced with the finest quality produce fresh from local farmers. We stopped in to try a few of their small lunch plates because, let’s face it, who can actually decide on just one meal. It’s clear a lot of time is put into the presentation of each dish, as they’re perfectly presented, looking absolutely beautiful on the plate. Cocktails are also no exception. We were delivered two divine looking beverages, the salted caramel piña colada and the ink purple Negroni, equally beautiful but opposing in taste. The piña colada was a literal party in the mouth, however the Negroni was a little more sophisticated, with a stronger taste. For food, we started with two of the most attractive dishes, the flat bread and the sesame cheese. The flat bread was warm and soft on the inside, paired perfectly with creamy labneh, salty Mount Zero olives, and juicy STYLEMAGAZINES.COM.AU

heirloom tomatoes. The sesame cheese, which was almost too pretty to eat, looked like a tiny fairy garden, with ribbons of sumac marinated zucchini delicately placed in between slices of roast beetroot, pomegranate beads and generous slabs of creamy sesame cheese. Next we sampled the buttermilk quail and confit chicken croquettes, which were exactly what our taste buds were craving. The quail was crisp and juicy, giving the taste of takeaway, deep fried goodness but without the dripping oil. The corn fritters were the perfect addition to the plate, soaking up some of the kick that came with the drizzle of hot sauce. The confit chicken croquets were a favourite among the table, described more than once as “little balls of heaven.” We finished with not only the most beautiful panacotta we’ve ever eaten, but the most delicious. The perfectly set buttermilk panacotta was topped with elderflower poached peach, fresh blueberries, candied pistachios, meringue droplets, dried raspberries, and a selection of edible flowers, making it not only a delight for the stomach, but the eyes as well. Each dish was deliciously different in its own way – we can’t wait to head back to try even more. Motorwagen is open for breakfast

COFFEE MASTERCLASS with Penny Wolff
To pocket or not to pocket
Bank stocks: are they a buy or a sell?
Raising coffee professionals
The real reason to wear a pocket handkerchief is to look good, that’s it. It’s there to elevate your look above boring and ordinary, because a jacket without a pocket hank looks naked. There are many ways to place a pocket hank, but you really only need to worry about two. The first is the crisp pocket square, which is usually worn in a complimentary cotton to your shirt. Ensure the cotton is showing about 1cm and is straight. The second is the plume, which works particularly well for silk. Grab the middle of the hank to let the fabric drop, then fold the bottom in half to create volume, before placing it in the pocket. Show about 3-5cm of the silk and let it fill the pocket. Don’t spend too much time playing with it as it’s not meant to be perfect. Always remember to keep the level of formality consistent with your outfit, and to let your pocket hank show your personality.
Australian banks are under pressure. In addition to the Royal Commission, they’re also dealing with a cooling property market, tighter lending conditions, and growing risks of technological disruption; all of which will likely impact future revenue and profits. In relation to self-funded retirees, consideration should be given to the sustainability of the dividends (including franking credits) and whether they hold an appropriate allocation, with respect to other positively correlated sectors, such as consumer discretionary. In addition to considering the economic drivers of returns, investors would be well served to consider “hedging strategies” to protect their capital, should the property market fall further than anticipated.
We’re often asked, “How do you keep your team of employees so happy?” At Wolff Coffee Roasters, we have a mission to raise a culture of highly competent coffee professionals who consistently deliver exceptional coffee experiences. To do this, we have established a few key points to ensure we keep our team well-grounded to this mission. • A solution focused coaching approach that ensures staff don’t get bogged down by problems that could affect the team’s mood or capacity to move forward towards a positive outcome, and allows the team to find creative solutions to a variety of problems. • Partaking in a “growth mindset” over a “fixed mindset” that includes a belief that intelligence can be developed, learning happens through feedback, and persisting in the face of disappointment ultimately leads to higher levels of achievement.

Are your teeth grinding you down?
Becoming a good listener
Things are heating up
Teeth grinding, or bruxism, is a tricky condition that many people suffer from without knowing. Bruxism is described as an involuntary clenching, grinding and gnashing of the teeth, and can occur when we’re concentrating, driving, or even when we’re asleep. A lot of people don’t realise they’re doing it, as the condition doesn’t always display symptoms that are easily noticed. Suffering bruxism for extended periods of time can lead to badly damaged teeth that are broken, chipped, cracked or worn down. However, there are a number of cosmetic procedures that can be used to reverse the detrimental effects of repeated grinding. Through a smile consultation you can discuss the best options available for restoring your smile to its natural shape, and begin to put an end to your grinding and clenching. The use of dental crowns, veneers, and resin fillers can help with the process of this.
Good listening is often described as an art form, and like most, you can become quite good at it with practice. There are a number of simple techniques that can help you become a great listener. Firstly, when your partner is talking to you, always try and keep eye contact with them. Resist the urge to look away or roll your eyes, and maintain steady, gentle eye contact whenever they’re speaking. Keeping all devices out of range is also a no brainer. Another effective way to stay engaged is to listen for feelings. Emotions are always present in discussions, so identifying them will help to clarify how the speaker is feeling. Once identified perhaps say something like, “It sounds like you are disappointed right now about…” This kind of response lets them know that you are listening with intention, and when that happens, they feel heard.
People who have trouble with leg veins can generally be divided into two groups, those having medical procedures for varicose veins, and those who have cosmetic treatments for spider veins. Living in Brisbane, we are very fortunate to have a climate that allows us to wear shorts or skirts across the seasons. But, those living with noticeable leg veins can feel self-conscious about their appearance, choosing to hide under longer garments. While some may not have issues with the look, they could suffer from painful symptoms such as aches and swelling, which can often be exasperated during the heat of summer. Many people who receive treatment for their veins wish they’d done so sooner. Being proactive about your vein health and booking in for a consultation can help avoid future skin damage, or give you the confidence to ditch the sarong at the beach.

When you’re dressed for success
Keeping your skin safe in the sun
Getting your affairs in order
Many women struggle with the transition from adolescence into adulthood, failing to understand the importance of presentation. While most know it’s essential to dress nicely, many battle with the image they’re portraying. Thought patterns collected or pushed upon us can often cause women to dull their appearance, hindering their ability to dress confidently, how they want to, and in a way that conveys who they are. Negative thoughts and self-doubts can be cleared from your head, and you can begin to express yourself authentically, changing your world for the better. This doesn’t mean splurging on high end brands in an attempt to “Chanel” your way to happiness. This can only come from the confident expression of your inner personality, and by creating a life for yourself that is full of opportunities, and one that you are proud to live.
When looking for a sunscreen to purchase, most people only look for one with a high SPF rating. SPF is only an indication of how long you can be out in the sun before you start to burn, and doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to protect your skin from lasting damage. There’s also been continual debate as to whether physical or chemical sunscreens are more effective. Physical sunscreens contain less chemicals that are known to cause irritation to skin, but chemical sunscreens act as a reflector to the suns UV rays, working best if applied 15-20 minutes prior to sun exposure. The best sunscreens are the ones with UVB and UVA protection, as they prevent you from getting sunburnt, and from damgaging your collagen levels. Whether you prefer to use a chemical or physical sunscreen, it’s important to ensure you cover your face, neck, ears, and décolletage and reapply at least twice a day.
Most of us avoid thinking about our life ending. If we do consider it, we seldom plan for making that difficult time easier for our loved ones. If you are at peace, don’t carry many regrets, and don’t have a long bucket list, then when the time comes, less distress will be experienced by all. In terms of practical issues, it is important to regularly de-clutter to make sure your belongings are in order, and ensure financial and personal papers and legal documents are stored in an easy to find folder. It is also essential to discuss and document your endof-life preferences with your GP, lawyer, and loved ones, and consider having an Advance Health Directive, Power of Attorney, and Will prepared. Finally, share with your loved ones your wishes in terms of organ donation and funeral preferences. Remember, the less you leave for others to tidy up, the more you’ll help them in their time of grief.

Food for thought and a healthy baby
How to be the star of your own movie
Do you need all of your teeth?
Making healthy food choices during pregnancy is unfortunately complicated by outdated and misinterpreted information regarding the things you “can’t eat” – when in fact, there should be far more focus on the positive outcomes that come with eating a healthy and balanced diet. Many foods that are supposedly meant to be avoided during pregnancy are actually fine to consume, as long as you are making good decisions about when and where they’re purchased, stored, prepared, and consumed. While some foods are generally at a higher risk for containing bacteria, these don’t change just because you’re pregnant, it’s simply suggested to be cautious to lessen the risk of becoming unwell. Rather than being consumed by restrictions, try to set yourself up with good information with a focus on maintaining a healthy and balanced diet.
What if you could choose a role to play in your own movie? Well, the truth is, you can. And you already do, although perhaps the movie of your life that you’re currently in isn’t the ideal one. Why not create a new movie? The movie could be called, “The Incredible Life And Times Of (insert your name here),” with you as the producer, director, leading man or lady, and the special effects guru. You get to choose the cast and crew, and like any production, you get to rehearse it over and over again to make it the best movie possible. This really is a great power, isn’t it? All you have to do is choose the role you want to play, and what the story will be. Action? Adventure? Uplifting? Choose your movie and choose your role. As Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.” It’s all up to you!
Losing baby teeth is an exciting time for children, but losing teeth as an adult isn’t nearly as thrilling. There are many reasons as to why we lose adult teeth, but the question is, do we really need to keep them to stay healthy? Our 32 adult teeth are essential for eating a healthy diet and ensuring our speech is clear. They also play a very important part in supporting the jaw joint, and play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining a healthy and open airway for breathing with ease. In order to keep our airways and jaw joints healthy, we need well developed jaws. However, when adult teeth are removed, our jaw bones reduce in size and change shape, and the soft tissue in our mouth often has to move to the only space available, the airway. There are many ways to replace missing teeth, however the best method is to prevent them from being lost in the first place.

Beach Body
Beach Body Ba b e Fitness queen and two time WBFF Bikini World Champion Rachel Dillon tells us how she’s maintaining her bikini body this party season.
What got you into fitness? I fell in love with fitness for the way it made me feel. Growing up I’d always been really active, but it wasn’t until I got a little older that I started taking my health and fitness journey seriously. I had no idea what direction I would take, I just wanted to help other females fall in love with fitness in the same way that I did. Why did you start Bodies by Rachel? I was studying a business degree at university and working as a receptionist at a law firm when I decided to become a personal trainer. I got my qualification and started training clients, and as my client base grew, I started to run BBR HIIT Camps. I then decided to pursue it full-time and create Bodies by Rachel. Today, I’m lucky enough to work with ladies from all over the world! Why do you choose to live an active lifestyle? I found that looking after my health and staying active improved all areas of my life. It’s almost like a glow. My relationships, my business and my world all thrive when I’m at my best. What are the first steps to take in order to get beach body ready? Identify your goal and create a plan. To help you create a bikini body, try incorporating resistance training into your workouts, replace processed foods with whole foods and drink 3L of water per day. Why is it important for us to not only look after our bodies, but love the skin we are in at the same time? Self-love and mindset focus are a really big part of BBR. So many ladies join with the aim of transforming their bodies, but the truth is that we need to change our mindset first. PAGE 42
I’m a big believer that the universe gives back what we put out, and it’s not until we truly love ourselves that we will receive love from others. Do you let yourself indulge over the holiday period? Christmas is my favourite day of the year and I LOVE food! In saying this, I always have a plan to maintain balance. If I know I’m going to over-indulge, I’ll watch my food a little stricter leading up and maybe add an extra HIIT cardio workout. Life’s too short not to enjoy the things you love! What are your tips for those of us who want to indulge, but also keep on top of our goals? Stay active and have a plan. The
thing I love most about health and fitness is that you get out exactly what you put in. If you’re planning to indulge, make sure to compensate for it somewhere else. Aim to workout 5-6 times per week and eat well in your other meals. It’s all about balance! How do you hope to inspire women to live an active lifestyle and love their bodies? My mission is to create the ultimate environment for ladies to embrace health and fitness and reach their goals. Through BBR, I want to create a platform not only to provide ladies with the most effective tools to transform their bodies, but to support, inspire and keep them accountable every step of the way. Fit WITHOUT sacrifice
Start your new year fit and fresh without missing out on the fun and games of the silly season with a six week program from XRcise Room. It’s that time of the year when we’re going out for dinner every night, indulging in a few too many wines, and getting our hands on as many cheese boards as possible. While it’s perfectly acceptable to be doing this as we come to the end of the year, it’s not long before we start panicking about our bodies in a swimsuit. Of course, you could commit to a fitness program which cuts out everything good about the party season, sacrificing your end of year celebrations in order to get your summer body. Or, you could join XRcise Room’s six week training and food program, designed specifically for this time of year so you can work on your body for summer, but still enjoy the end of year festivities. The educational style program is all about finding a balance in your life, helping you to make smart choices throughout this time of year, but still leaving you room to indulge when you want to. The program includes unlimited classes at both XRcise Room and BOXR, complete use of the gym at XRcise Room, three workouts sent directly to your inbox each week, an easy to follow meal plan, and a 30 minute one on one personal training session. If you’re almost bikini body ready, but just need a little bit of fine tuning, the team of skilled trainers at XRcise Room can tailor an exercise regime and plan of attack just for you, so you can fit into that summer dress, or finally have the confidence to rock that swimsuit. Whatever your summer body goals are, the team at XRcise Room can help you reach them, without making you sacrifice all of the good things that come with this time of year.

While it sounds divine, it can be quite difficult to plan a holiday to somewhere you’ve never been before. Owner of Rjm Collection and personal travel concierge, Ros Miscamble, meticulously plans trips to India and Morocco, guiding travellers every step of the way. Her local knowledge is on hand, with her trips built on the belief that giving back is just as important
as embarking on an exciting adventure. Having travelled extensively throughout Morocco and lived in India previously, she now knows the exact spots tourists must travel to. “Living in a foreign country forced me to be flexible, stay positive, take on new challenges, and discover new passions.” Each trip Ros hosts is exclusive to just small groups of 4-10 travellers who are excited to not only visit the tourist hotspots, but the local villages, eclectic back streets and artisan workshops as well.
ROS MISCAMBLE
Her upcoming tour of India in 2019 will take a small group of travellers “From Deserts To Ganges”, experiencing the Jaipur Literature Festival from 24-28 January, celebrating and mingling with writers from across the world. The international festival has hosted a diverse mix of people, including the 14th Dalai Lama, Oprah Winfrey, and Margaret Atwood. Is Angus Wonderland your real name? Actually, no! Angus is the name I picked when I first came to Australia back in 2009. I was doing a lot of backpacking then, and all I could afford was Angus beef burgers. Wonderland was inspired by my favourite song, “Your Body Is A Wonderland” by John Mayer.

Describe a turning point in your life Perhaps when I decided to leave home, my mum, and my younger brother. It was a difficult time because back home everything was provided, but in Australia I had to start from zero, knowing not many people, looking for new friends and building up myself as a brand. Lucky for me, I now have heaps of support from my friends and loved ones.
