BEHIND THE SCENES

As always, our June cover shoot was a blast, surrounded by trees, curious wallabies, and the ultra-sexy Lexus RX. The dreamy ‘Cade and Britt’ (total couple goals!) were glammed up by the fabulous Ginelle Dale, who always nails the brief. We set up shop in a glamping-style room, jam-packed with the cover stars’ own wardrobe faves and handpicked pieces from our stylist Kathryn Edmonds. It was an allaround team effort; everyone played their part in creating magic, beautifully captured by Chloe Hill behind the lens. Our social and digi girls, Baylee, Bianca, and Nat, came along to assist and snap BTS moments. And the cherry on top? A perfect sunset to end the day.

FASHION AND FIRE PITS

From the electric energy of Australian Fashion Week to the serene beauty of Sirromet, this has been an exhilarating month I won’t soon forget.

Fashion Week in Sydney with my daughter, Kiri, was as fabulous as it was exhausting – we’re already counting down to next year! We soaked up the shows, (see our wrap on page 26), mingled with the cool kids, and indulged in our shared love: fashion.

This month, we’re thrilled to feature Brisbane couple Arcadius Fimone and Brittani Clark. We know this dynamic duo is destined for stardom and we can’t wait to see what they achieve next. Thank you Cade and Brittani for your grace and style, and for bringing Sirromet to life for our cover story.

A huge thank you also to the team at Sirromet for their generosity

and access to every corner of their beautiful property. Is there anything more quintessentially winter than sipping mulled wine around a firepit and then resting your head at Sanctuary, Sirromet’s beautiful glamping pavilions? It’s truly intoxicating. Thanks also to Lexus for bringing the incredible RX along for the  ride.

We know Brisbanites love heading to the GC for a day trip or weekend, and this month we have something special to share from QT Gold Coast (page 44). Glorious country air, cabins, glamping, firepits, and fine wine? Yep, there’s a definite theme here.

And finally, we’ve profiled several local businesses to help you pamper yourself and care for your skin during the cooler months.

So, here’s to another action-packed month – stay stylish and take care!

STARS IN THEIR EYES

With their Hollywood good looks, charisma, and effortlessly cool sense of style, it’s not hard to imagine our June cover stars

Arcadius and Brittani on the big screen. And that’s exactly where they’re headed.

A chance encounter at a Fortitude Valley dive bar was all it took for Brissy model and actor Arcadius Fimone to know he’d found something special in Brittani. “Our conversation was the most soul-warming chat I’ve ever had,” recalls Arcadius. “Despite trying to take things slow, we both knew in our hearts that we had found our person.” And the rest, as they say, was history.

Fast forward three years, and today the couple happily reside together in New Farm. An undeniable “it” couple, their chemistry is palpable – the stuff of movies, you could say. Both up-and-comers in the acting industry, the pair’s mutual love for fashion and film is shaping their futures, both professionally and personally.

For Brittani Clark, who grew up attending theatre camps and drama classes, acting was (and still is) a form of escape. “The theatre was somewhere I felt very accepted and understood by my peers,” she says. Her other love, fashion, led her to study at the prestigious Condé Nast College of Fashion and Design in London. By day, she found herself styling shoots and creating magazine mock-ups; by

night, she was hustling towards her acting dreams.

Arcadius, who was raised in a family with a “profound love for cinema”, grew up as enamoured by the screen as Brittani did. “I’d head straight to the local cinema, hopping from screen to screen and soaking in every film showing that day,” says Arcadius. “Those experiences shaped my love for storytelling and the magic of  movies.”

Now, the powerhouse couple is looking to take the next step in their relationship – and their careers. Having made the decision to uproot their lives to Sydney later in the year, their next project is a joint one: co-writing a screenplay. Reflecting on their relationship, Brittani shares, “Seeing each other grow as people and performers has been an adventure. It is verwy beautiful that we get to share our love of film and theatre.”

As the duo continues to hone their craft, we can’t help but think it’s only a matter of time before the world witnesses their story unfold, both on and off the screen.

UNCORK & UNWIND

As the weather cools, we tend to swap the coast for cosy countryside getaways. Whether it’s a stay in a snug cottage or a trip to a winery, Brisbanites love to rug up and get into the great outdoors. That’s why Sirromet, Mt Cotton’s picturesque estate and winery, is an idyllic winter destination. Bursting into life upon the season’s arrival, Sirromet welcomes visitors from far and wide onto their serene property, offering luxurious accommodations and soulwarming experiences. Tranquility, luxury and wine? We’re on our way!

A short 40-minute drive from Brisbane’s CBD, leave the city’s chaos behind and surround yourself with rolling hills, vineyards and warm hospitality. So when it came to planning this month’s cover shoot, there was no better couple to experience the romance and beauty of Sirromet than Brisbane it-couple and cover stars, Arcadius and Brittani. We think they look perfectly at home here!

Whether you’re dropping in for the day or indulging in their serene accommodation (so you can treat yourself to those extra glasses of wine), Sirromet invites you to enjoy some peace and quiet.

Boasting 18 glamping-style pavilions and two cottages against the backdrop of humming bushland, Sanctuary is as luxurious as it

is homely. Set amongst native eucalyptus gums, prepare to revel in the seclusion and tranquility of the lodges where it’s just you, the grazing wallabies, and the singing birds. With generous balconies to host your morning cuppa and evening sundowners, Sanctuary is perfect for a family getaway, mid-week corporate retreats, or romantic escapes. Plus, it’s the perfect ‘getting ready’ location for those saying their ‘I do’s’ amongst the Sirromet vines.

While you’re there, indulge in their seasonal offerings, from rugging up in front of their fire pits with a vino in hand (try their new vintage) to picnicking upon Lavender Hill, there’s plenty of things to do and even more wine to sip. Their newly refreshed Tuscan Terrace also offers a premium vantage point of the estate’s expansive views, where you can kick back and enjoy a menu that celebrates Queensland produce.

At Sirromet, nature, award-winning food and wine, and luxurious hospitality combine. Less than an hour’s drive from Brisbane CBD, we think it’s the ultimate winter staycay. So, when will you be visiting?

ANDY COOKS

If his name doesn’t ring a bell, his catchphrase surely will: “Hey babe, what do you want for *insert meal time here*?” Andy Hearnden, perhaps better known by his social media handle, @andycooks, is a Kiwi chef turned viral sensation teaching his 9.4 million followers how to become better home cooks.

How did you get your start in the industry I went to culinary school when I was 16 and started working in cafes in Auckland before moving to London when I was 21 to really kick off my career as a chef. I spent seven years working in some great restaurants in London, including the Great Eastern Dining Room, which is where I landed my first Head Chef role when I was 24. What has your rapid rise to fame been like It’s kind of similar to being a chef in a restaurant where people come up to you and say they love your food.

Now it just happens a lot more frequently. I definitely have some really cool people and opportunities that come my way, but for the most part, life still feels the same. Best advice for home cooks Prep is really important, especially for dishes that don’t take long to cook like fried rice – you don’t want to accidentally burn your oil while you’re still chopping up the veggies. Proudest career moment My first cookbook came out almost a year ago. It’s something I’m super proud of and it holds a lot of my favourite recipes in there.

Andy’s foodie guide to the Sunny Coast:

For fine dining: I wouldn’t call them fine dining but I’d go to Humble on Duke for incredible food and a great experience.

For a special occasion: Market Bistro is always good.

For a takeaway dinner: Umami Ramen for takeaway or a delicious casual dinner.

For a long lunch: Kin Kin Hotel because there’s nothing better than a country pub meal.

For a breakfast bite: Rick’s on 6th for a pie and a sourdough loaf to bring home.

Hi Merryn, firstly congratulations on your AFW debut. What inspired your debut collection at AFW, and, why now We were ready for a reset. To take our learnings and development in design and re-present the label to the Third Form woman. Re-FORM is a daring evolution, moving to push the boundaries whilst staying true to the brands’ well known urban, contemporary design aesthetic with an undercurrent of laidback sensuality. Our inspiration doesn't change from season to season, the Third Form woman is centric to our collection, seasonally evolving with her by looking forward. ReFORM is a leap forward and a new phase for the label both internally with focus on expanding our international wholesale partners and cementing our place within the industry in Australia. In planning the collection for the show, what did you discover about yourself I learned a lot about myself as a leader and about myself. I chose to stay grounded, focused and calm and did so all the way through. Looking back this was the most important decision I made. My calmness and clarity flowed down into the team and allowed us to all enjoy the process and be grateful for the opportunity of doing what we love. I’m very proud of how I and my team handled ourselves. What materials and techniques did you prioritise in bringing your vision to life Returning to craft and using our hands to create, a look that showcased this was the denim trench layered over the satin gather dress. Both pieces are a symphony of experimentation and letting go of inhibitions. For these pieces, boundary breaking design came first. I hope people see this and feel it when they wear them, that they know it's a celebration

As a new mum and debuting her label Third Form at Australian Fashion Week, Founder and Creative Director Merryn Kelly is simply inspiring. We asked Merryn about her debut and the creative process behind her show collection.

of craft. What inspiration or personal experience did you lean into in the creative process for the collection Becoming a mother for the first time impacted the creative process for me significantly, showing me the importance of time. To slow it down and to enjoy the little things along the way. With this new lens on life, I wanted to apply this to Third Form and take a very considered approach to design from crafting our ‘fits and spending more time on the development of unique fabrications and finishes for our pieces. Tell us what you did the night before the show I wanted to keep my nerves to a minimum and keep things in perspective. So I approached it as a normal night at home. I didn’t talk about the show and just spent time with my family. Playing with my daughter, and had a tiny wine with my husband and mum to pre-cheers to the occasion. My team and I worked hard to prepare for the show and had everything in place. We walked out of the office the night before at 5:30pm and were ready for show day. How do you envision your label and designs fitting into the broader landscape of Australian fashion Third Form has always set out to offer an international outlook but still cater to the need for versatility in the Australian landscape. Something I find unique to Australia is that we look for pieces that can be styled in a multitude of ways and occasions. It’s a design balancing act at times, but something I enjoy as it’s the way I like to dress also. Challenging the classic silhouette and proportions into something new with a modern edge is something we hero. I also love to merge and mix fabrications and opacities in the effort to relink the classics.

A NEW LOOK

Give your nose the star treatment without the drama of surgery!

Let’s talk about the nose – the face’s MVP holding everything together in perfect harmony. It’s no wonder why many of us are a little obsessed with how it looks (guilty). If you’re not thrilled with your nose, just know that you’re not alone, and the good news is, you don’t need to go under the knife to make a change!

Let us introduce you to Artisan Aesthetic Clinics and their non-surgical rhinoplasty (aka a non-surgical nose job). In the procedure, PDO threads are inserted into the nose to reposition, lift or sharpen the tip, improve the contour of the nose, slim the nose bridge and/or reduce the width of the nose. The threads help provide collagen and structural support and are slowly absorbed by your body over time. The procedure takes around an hour and your nose may be tender for a few days thereafter.

Dr Ajan Kumar, a cosmetic doctor at Artisan, is pleased to launch the treatment at Artisan, due to its effective results and short downtime. “Many patients who are typically unhappy with their noses and have considered surgery but been frightened by it, may benefit from non-surgical modalities, such as the non-surgical rhinoplasty. It all starts with a consultation to discuss your goals and what’s right for you.

Despite the procedure being non-surgical, it is a medical procedure that carries some risk and should be performed by an experienced cllinician. Additionally, everyone’s anatomy is different, so the extent of improvement can vary. That’s exactly why you should start with a consultation with a skilled medical professional who can determine suitability and answer all your questions.

Artisan Aesthetic Clinics has an experienced team of doctors, nurses, and dermal therapists, including the talented cosmetic doctor Dr Ajan Kumar. The team have decades of experience, ensuring you’re in the safest hands possible. Plus, they also know a thing or two about addressing conditions such as chronic acne and pigmentation, maintaining optimal skin health, or reducing signs of ageing.

Be sure to book a consultation with Dr Kumar to discuss what treatments could work best for you!

CABINS IN PARADISE

Mountain-style cabins in the heart of Surfers Paradise? You betcha. An unexpected guest experience awaits at qtQT Luxe Cabins, where mountain retreat vibes meet big city lights. Tucked out of sight in the bustling Gold Coast is a retreat for the adventurous (and pampered) at heart.

Waking up in a rustic cabin, cocooned in I Love Linen bedding, I could have been in a Canadian forest for all I knew, not the middle of Surfers Paradise. But this is qtQT Luxe Cabins – a one-of-a-kind experience, offering the best of both worlds: the convenience (and fun) of a beachside city along with the tranquility of a secluded escape. QT Gold Coast Hotel has created a cabin getaway, where each private cabin is designed for ultimate comfort and relaxation.

Perfectly styled with natural textures and decor, the timber lined cabins are simply captivating. Add quality snacks, a Dyson hairdryer and Saya skincare products, and you know every aspect of the guest experience has been considered. And the best bit? The six exclusive cabins are positioned away from the main hotel so that privacy and serenity is optimal. The experience starts from the moment you arrive – with a welcome sunset

aperitivo by the firepit.

It’s all too easy. You could leave the property but if a lowkey stay is what you need, dining is a delight with modern Japanese at Yamagen and tantalising cocktails at Stingray (must try: Queen Bee Parton Coconut Margarita). Every mountaineer needs a hearty start to the day and breakfast at Bazaar hits the spot. If you can drag yourself out for a long beach walk (we suggest the popular walk from Surfers Paradise to Broadbeach), you can look forward to a rejuvenating spa session at spaQ on your return.

Don’t miss out on QTea High Tea, a collaboration with viral sensation Brooke Saward of BROOKI Bakehouse (only available in June). With everything you could possibly need right at your fingertips, and just an hour’s drive from Brisbane, qtQT is the perfect spot for a solo retreat or a romantic escape.

WE WENT TO AUSTRALIAN FASHION WEEK

Here’s where we stayed and played

Australian Fashion Week is a literal whirl (and twirl) of excitement and, choosing a chic hotel amplifies the thrill. Right in the heart of Sydney, we discovered an unexpectedly stylish gem that became our sanctuary amid the fashion frenzy.

I arrived at InterContinental Sydney late, planning to wash my hair and call it a quiet night. But my daughter Kiri texted me, “Ged and I are at Aster on the rooftop. It's amazing. Come up”. Clean hair be damned. I tossed my bags aside like an outdated trend and headed for level 32.

As Store Trainer and Client Advisor at Fendi Flagship Sydney, our divine friend Ged is the epitome of class and cites Aster as his favourite place for an after-work drink. He calls it a Sydney secret. It’s easy to see why. Aster’s sophisticated decor and elegantly hushed ambience are only surpassed by the incredible view of Sydney Harbour at night. The Opera House and Harbour Bridge dazzled like a diamond – the perfect entrée to three days of fashion and glamour.

GOOD MORNING SYDNEY

The next morning we awoke to soft melodious tones drifting from the television, easily the kindest wake-up call I’ve ever experienced. Electric blinds opened to reveal another beautiful aspect of Sydney, the Royal Botanic Parklands. Now Sydney was simply showing off.

STARTING THE DAY RIGHT

The Conservatory Restaurant with its high ceiling bathed in natural light, offers a delightful breakfast experience. The walk-in pantry, meticulously curated, presents a refined take on the traditional buffet setup. My husband judges hotels by their buffet (bless him). He would have given a big tick, I’m sure.

SYDNEY, YOU GORGEOUS THING

Staying at InterContinental Sydney is a truly luxurious experience. The hotel exudes quality, set within the beautifully restored 1851 Treasury building and enhanced by a $120 million renovation. Every inch of the property has been thoughtfully considered, blending modern design with heritage elegance. The impeccably styled guest rooms, and stunning bar and dining options, create an unforgettable stay. With its breathtaking vista, Aster is the crown jewel that seals the deal.

TO BED, BYREDO, TO BED

After a big first day at Carriageworks (we absolutely loved Albus Lumen and Carla Zampatti), we decided to keep our evening low-key. Luxuriating in Byredo everything in the bathroom, we ordered room service, and curated content from the comfort of our heavenly beds. After party? Meh.

What

is a buyers agent?

Over the past five years we have seen a massive change to the traditional real estate industry with the rise of buyers agents changing the landscape. It’s not uncommon to now have a real estate agent representing the vendor and a buyers agent (who is a licensed real estate agent) representing the purchaser. Buyers agents evaluate the specific needs and wants of the buyer, assist the buyer in determining the amount that they can afford, and then locate properties that fit those specifications on and off market. They also accompany buyers at viewings, or preview on behalf of the buyer, including virtual tours for interstate clients.

They conduct thorough property research, negotiate on behalf of buyers, and provide a list of service providers. Most importantly they fully oversee the buyer throughout the entire real estate transaction and save the buyer an incredible amount of time and money.

In Brisbane, the buyers agent market is booming. If you are researching Brisbane buyers agents, make sure they are members of the REIQ and or REBAA and have a minimum of 10+ years experience in property. Whether you’re looking for your next family home, downsizing, or searching for an investment property, our team at Moore Buyers Agency can help with all your purchasing needs.

VARICOSE VEINS WITH DR NICHOLAS KEMP

Cold feet

As the thermometer finally drops this month, so do the number of complaints about veins. Although winter in Brisbane can be short lived, we should still get excited by the fact that the cooler weather causes veins to shrink. The dilation makes it easier for the valves to function properly, resulting in less swollen ankles and cramps. However winter also brings challenges...

Reduced movement: most of us aren’t fierce enough to keep swimming through the winter months, so maintaining exercise can be difficult. It’s important to stay active though, as it will help your calves pump the blood efficiently back to the heart. Simply swap the pool for a cycle along the river.

Weight gain: comfort eating in front of the fireplace can mean your legs are under more stress, as additional pressure can increase venous insufficiency. Monitor your food intake and keep moving to combat this.

Rugging up: wearing multiple layers of clothes means you can get out of touch with your body. Take extra time post-shower when moisturising to stretch and massage your legs. If you have a family history of varicose veins, checking out the skin’s surface might give you a head start in proactively treating them.

STYLING TIPS WITH MARK FERGUSON

Lasting leather

Leather jackets remain an enduring staple, redefined by the whims of fashion. This season, the palette shifts to earthy tones (think olive green and deep brown) while the timeless black jacket retains its dominance. Adventurous souls might lean toward burgundy or navy – colours that echo both rebellion and sophistication.

The debate over the best leather rages on, but full-grain leather continues to emerge as the victor for its unyielding durability and rich, natural texture. Meanwhile, top-grain leather offers a smooth, polished finish that doesn’t compromise on quality. However, for those mindful of the purse strings, genuine leather provides a respectable compromise.

Styles evolve, yet some silhouettes never fade. The biker jacket – with its storied past and rebellious spirit – still captures the imagination. The bomber jacket – a relic of military utility – adapts effortlessly to the civilian wardrobe. For the minimalist, the racer jacket stands as a testament to sleek elegance. Leather jackets sculpt a visage of contemporary cool, making every man a protagonist in his own sartorial narrative.
