Osborne House, East Cowes

The stunning Osborne House in East Cowes was the palatial home of Queen Victoria, and provides a wonderful day out. From 26 - 28 May a magnificent show for all the family will honour Queen Victoria’s birthday. Arena action, hands-on fun and period sideshows will include Punch and Judy, fire shows, Victorian fairground rides and a breath-taking display of acrobatics on horseback. english-heritage.org.uk The beautiful Northwood House and Park in Cowes will be welcoming all to celebrate the local community at Cowes Picnic in the Park on 7 June. Bring food, family and friends for this afternoon of free fun, with live music, children’s activities, fun dog show and a great atmosphere.

When you venture further afield, you’ll discover an Island filled with events and attractions, including the world famous Isle of Wight Festival (11 - 14 June) with Lionel Richie, Lewis Capaldi and Duran Duran. Celebrate the very best of rural Island life at The Royal Isle of Wight County Show (28 June). Rhythmtree Festival (10 - 12 July) presents global artists creating a fantastic festival vibe in local woodland. Experience an eclectic mix of entertainment at Ventnor Fringe (28 July - 2 August). Visit the unique IW Garlic Festival in Sandown (15 - 16 August), or celebrate the original IW Festival in Experience 1970 (4 - 6 September). The popular Beer and Buses weekend (10 - 11 October) combines vintage bus travel with real ale across the Island.
