Let’s all be grateful that the heat is leaving us for the season, so, we can enjoy dining outdoors and all kinds of outdoor activities again without breaking a sweat. BROTHER’S BOND BOURBON Style Magazines chats with ‘The Vampire Diaries’ stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley about their new bourbon.

I’ve never been one to watch much television, but from the very first day it aired, I have always been a fan of The Vampire Diaries. The supernatural drama follows the life of a teenage girl who finds herself romantically torn between two vampire brothers. Though the award-winning show aired its last episode in March of 2017, it’s still attracting a legion of die-hard fans thanks in part to being picked up by Netflix and the fact that the show’s starring brothers are simply impossible not to love.

Of course I’m talking about none other than Paul Wesley and Ian

By Riesa Pascal

Somerhalder, who are not related in real life but might as well be after portraying brothers on-screen for eight incredible seasons of the beloved drama. Sadly all good things must come to an end, but fortunately the end of The Vampire Diaries also meant the beginning of something special and new for the ‘brothers’ and their fans. Paul and Ian’s shared passion for bourbon— both on-screen and off-screen—led to the duo developing and releasing their own brand of whiskey appropriately titled Brother’s Bond Bourbon, and Style Magazines had the opportunity to chat with the stars about their exciting, new passion project which has been 10 years in the making.

BARFLY

How hands-on were you in creating this spirit? Paul: We couldn’t be more hands on if we tried! This whole thing, this entire brand, everything you see Ian and I created ourselves from the ground up along with our team. Ian: Absolutely everything you see we touched on, we built and created. Every single day we do everything. We’re in text threads, zooms, calls... our team is unstoppable. These are 20-year-plus veterans so every aspect is across-the-board since we’re surrounded by the best team in the business. What area of the process would you say you went back and forth the most on before you were able to come to an agreement or would you say you were in sync on likes and dislikes the whole time? Paul: We agreed on a lot, shockingly, because we’re very different human beings. We honestly agreed on everything. I don’t want to use that word, but it’s true. Thus far, there’s been no disagreements I would say. As far as they’re being back-andforth, certainly coming up with a name. We came up with the name together and that was a text thread that was thousands of characters long and then obviously the mash bill—the liquid. This was a lot of time blending at Ian’s house and in his living room. That was something that we argued about, but we both wanted very specific taste so we didn’t compromise until we found it and that took a long time. Ian: Paul is being super humble. This took over a year every single day of blending—morning, noon, and night. Hundreds of iterations of this, I mean literally, I’m not even joking. We needed two things: we needed immediate approachability right out of the bottle so whether it’s Gen Z or Millennial or my 70-year-old mom or 80-year-old dad, they can

literally pick up this bottle, pour it into a glass and drink it. That immediate approachability and then character nuance and complexity for bourbon drinkers. To get those two things together was one hell of a journey that we refused to compromise and now that we have this flagship amazing bourbon under the guidance of Vincent, our CEO, everything we do is an extension. It’ll always have this DNA because the DNA of this bourbon is just something that we obsess about. I dream about it. I’m sorry, I know I ramble on and on, but that’s how much we love it and care about it. What would you say is your favorite drink to have with the Bouron if you’re not having it straight up? Paul: I like the Brother’s Fashioned which is a spin on the Old Fashioned. I’m kind of old school. I like Manhattans and Old Fashions. The Mystic Charmer, that’s our signature cocktail. What’s amazing about it is that it takes bourbon which is traditionally considered this sort of dark spirit that’s for grumpy old men who smokes cigars and it takes that stereotype and spins it on its head and gives us this incredible, refreshing, summer-like cocktail that my mom just guzzles so that’s another great drink, the Mystic Charmer. Ian: The Mystic Charmer is so good! We have a really comprehensive drink strategy that we developed with one of the best mixologists on the planet, but it’s seasonal. There’s a lot of seasonality to it so you build it for seasons...they’re all good. Ready to try these recipes yourself? Brother’s Bond Bourbon can be purchased at ABC Fine Wine & Spirits and other distributors near you. Visit www. brothersbondbourbon.com to learn more and to view additional cocktail recipes developed by Ian and Paul.

Turns out - An Autoimmune Disease Is Something to

DANCE ABOUT It is a toasty fall afternoon in Sanford, Florida; the year is 2000. A 10-yearold girl, newly diagnosed with an incurable autoimmune disorder, is dancing in her driveway. You’d think learning that she now has type 1 Diabetes (formerly known as juvenile diabetes) and that her future will incorporate blood glucose monitors and daily injections of insulin would have been a good reason to stop dancing. But not for little Elizabeth; she just kept dancing because that’s what she does. She started dancing at Millennium Middle School and today she continues 21 years later as the executive director of the annual Dancing for Diabetes Show and founder of Touched by Type 1. After her diagnosis, she was driven by a determination to lead with inspiration and not to let diabetes negatively impact her life. As the idea to form a nonprofit organization was taking shape in her 10-year-old brain, she knew that dancing was at the heart of it. As she began devouring every piece of information she could find about type 1 diabetes, it was soon clear to her that bringing attention to the stories of over 1.5 million Americans who are living with type 1 diabetes was really something to dance about! She tells the story of filling out the original paperwork to launch the 501c3 nonprofit organization we know of today as Touched by Type 1 – whose mission is to elevate awareness of type 1 Diabetes, raise funds to find a cure and inspire those with diabetes to thrive. Most people don’t know that there are several kinds of diabetes. Generally, when people hear about diabetes, they are thinking about type 2, which is predominately found in older populations due to various factors such as diet, exercise, and family history. Conversely, type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that usually shows up early in life. A big difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes is that type 2 is mostly managed with medication and lifestyle choices. There is no cure for type 1 and administering insulin is a required part of daily life for those impacted. November is National Diabetes Awareness Month and November 14th is International Diabetes Awareness Day. Fast Forward 21 years – Elizabeth has grown up, as children will do, and today the daily management of her disease has become a backdrop for her normal life. She doesn’t miss a beat and is still the energy behind the organization and the annual show. She is a Chief Operating Officer by day and a philanthropist (and new mom) by night. The show must and does go on! The annual Dancing for Diabetes showcase has sold out Bob Carr for years and is now planning to sell out the Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts on November 13th. The 21st Annual Dancing for Diabetes show features award-winning dancers raising funds to support those touched by type 1 diabetes. Help support those impacted by type 1 diabetes, learn more and purchase tickets at www. dancingfordiabetes.org. 30

REAL ESTATE

Best time to buy a house might be now! By Swapna Venugopal Ramaswamy

In October, most markets across the country will have more homes for sale, lower prices and less buyer competition, according to Realtor.com data. If you’re in the market to buy a home, the four five weeks might be a perfect time, according to a new report from Realtor.com. After a year marked by low inventory and high prices, most markets across the country will have more homes for sale, lower prices and less buyer competition compared with the average week of the year, the data shows. The metrics used in the report to calculate the best time to buy a home included listing prices, inventory levels, new listings, time on market, homebuyer demand and price reductions. “You’re not necessarily going to get the lowest price, but you’ll get a lower-thanpeak price and you’re not going to see as much competition from other buyers,” says Danielle Hale, chief economist for Realtor.com. In markets such as Arizona and Florida, the optimal buying season tends to be in the early part of the year. “Most of those markets where we see a January or February best time to buy are retirement communities, a lot of older buyers who aren’t as tied to the school calendar as a lot of family, and the weather is good year-round in most of those markets,” Hale says. But in metro areas where families are getting back into school routines, there are fewer buyers in the market, which creates a great opportunity, especially for firsttime homebuyers, to make a purchase with somewhat less competition, Hale says. Although the year began with extreme inventory shortages, the market began to consistently see more listings this summer. It added 100,000 or more new listings in 15 of the past 17 weeks. “If you look at the listings data, they didn’t ramp up as much as they normally would in the spring,” Hale says. “Buyers on the other hand were out in full force early in the year. Therefore, the early part of the year was more competitive than we typically see.” If 2021 follows the typical seasonal pattern, there should be around 705,000 listings on the market in October nationwide, which is roughly 100,000 more active listings than during the peak summer season in July, according to the report. During the week of Oct. 3, prices could dip 2.6% compared with a typical season high. On a median listing price of $385,000, buyers could save about $10,000. And in the largest housing markets, prices could dip more than 10% from their peak. The best week to buy is also a peak period for price reductions, with an average of 7% of homes dropping their price. Based on inventory estimates, that could mean roughly 50,000 homes nationally will see reductions. 32

Stars Dressing as Other Celebrities for Halloween Let’s hope imitation really is the sincerest form of flattery By Riesa Pascal

Celebrities and pop culture have long been major inspirations for Halloween costumes and I don’t just mean for you and I—even the stars themselves would seem to agree! Here’s a look at six stars who drew inspiration from fellow celebrities when it came to putting together fun, iconic and unforgettable costumes for our favorite spooky holiday.

diamond necklace and bold-red rope belt. The main difference? Instead of framing the Mona Lisa behind them, the couple featured Barack and Michelle Obama, a clear nod to their admiration for the former first couple. ELLEN DEGENERES AS NICKI MINAJ

Actor and comedian Kevin Hart dressed up as his friend and frequent co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for Halloween 2019, but it’s the look he chose that had everyone talking! Hart perfectly replicated Johnson’s famous 90s photograph of him donning a black turtleneck, gold chain, jeans and a fanny pack. He even nailed Johnson’s pose down to the elbow napkin! “This s—t makes me laugh,” Hart wrote in the instagram caption of his now viral photo. “#NailedIt #HappyHalloween #PeepTheNapkinUnderMyElbow.”

In 2013, Nicki Minaj made an appearance on Ellen wearing an unforgettable ensemble that included leather pants, a cropped jacket, and, most memorably, no bra. When Halloween rolled around the following month, the comedian was quick to capitalize on all the attention Minaj's outfit brought to the show by perfectly replicating the costume. "This year I decided to go as something really scary, half-naked," Degeneres joked in the episode that aired on October 31st. "Of course, I'm Nicki Minaj. Nicki was on the show a few weeks ago and her shirt was not ... she took our show from PG to double D, that's what she did!"

ZENDAYA COLEMAN AS AALIYAH

JENNIFER LOPEZ AS MADONNA

In 2013, 17-year-old Zendaya Coleman debuted her Aaliyah costume on the red carpet at Keep A Child Alive’s 20th Annual Dream Halloween. Coleman bared her midriff while rocking a replica of Aaliyah’s head-to-toe Tommy Hilfiger getup to pay tribute to the fallen R&B singer. The following year, Coleman was supposed to portray the late singer in the Lifetime biopic Aaliyah: Princess of R&B. Unfortunately, Aaliyah fans majorly criticised the casting choice and after the film received further backlash from Aaliyah’s family, Zendaya ultimately decided to drop out of production.

Not many people would feel comfortable dressing up as their fiance’s ex for Halloween, but Jennifer Lopez isn’t exactly like most people. Last November—while she was still engaged to Alex Rodriguez—the 51-year-old donned a replica of Madonna’s iconic wedding dress look from her “Like A Virgin” album cover and the 1984 MTV VMAs. Rodriguez was romantically linked to Madonna for a brief time in 2008, but Lopez wasn’t going to let a little awkwardness take away her Halloween fun.

CIARA AND RUSSELL WILSON AS BEYONCE AND JAY-Z

This one was too cute to pass up! For Halloween 2019, Kylie Jenner's daughter wore a mini version of the purple ostrich feather Versace gown that her mother’s donned at that year’s Met Gala. It's unknown if Versace also made the mini dress, but the one-year-old’s look was spot-on in capturing all the intricacies of the original including a crystal mesh dress, purple feathered sleeves, and a silver-lilac wig. Stormi even carried around a bejeweled handbag to complete the glittery, adorably accurate look.

KEVIN HART AS THE ROCK

The singer and her quarterback husband honored their friendship with Beyoncé and Jay-Z by recreating the Carters’ matching pink and blue pastel suits from their “Apes—t” music video for Halloween 2019. In a series of photos captioned “Jay & Bey.,” the couple caused fans to do a double take as they showed off their epic costumes. The “Goodies” singer copied everything from Bey’s half-up, half-down hairstyle to her

No Time To Die EDITION

58

| STYLETOME.COM

Productions announced the launch of a No Time To Die special edition Aston Martin DB5 Junior. Inspired by the 25th James Bond film, No Time To Die, the film sees the return of the iconic Aston Martin DB5. This unique collaboration with The Little Car Company has created a gadget-laden collector’s item. The two-thirds scale version of the original comes with a fully electric powertrain. Specifications The No Time To Die edition will pay homage to the rich shared history of the brands, with Silver Birch paintwork, Smiths instruments, individually numbered chassis plates and completed with Aston Martin badging. In true Bond style, this special edition boasts even greater power and range over the standard DB5 Vantage Junior, giving it a higher level of performance.

TOYS

After extensive development and months of collaboration between the three companies, the car is a truly authentic homage to both the Aston Martin and 007 brands. The original Aston Martin DB5 was 3D-scanned for reference, allowing a completely accurate reproduction. Whilst some elements of the car have been replicated, such as the Smiths instruments on the dashboard, some elements have been reimagined for the modern era. The fuel gauge has been converted into a battery meter, while the oil temperature now monitors the motor temperature. The No Time To Die Special Edition has been designed as a convertible, and not the fixed head coupe driven by 007. This is to offer seating for an adult and child side by side, allowing all generations of Bond fans to share the love of driving. With multiple driving modes and a range of up to 80 miles, aspiring secret agents should be able to escape any situation. There are also some secret ‘Easter Eggs’ hidden within the car for the lucky owners to find. A quick-release steering wheel allows for a speedy entry and exit for the driver, and when they need to stop in a hurry, they can rely on both regenerative braking and highperformance Brembo disc brakes. Bilstein dampers and coilover springs make sure the suspension can handle the performance squeezed into this two-thirds scale marvel. No Time To Die Specification James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 has become a much-loved character in its own right. No Bond car would be complete without Q style gadgets, and the Aston Martin DB5 Junior No Time To Die edition is no exception. Chris Corbould OBE, the Oscar®winning special effects supervisor, has worked on fifteen James Bond films since the early 1980s, and he consulted with The Little Car Company on the development of the car’s complex gadgets in miniature; “When I saw the DB5 Junior in the flesh, I was amazed at how identical it is to the full-sized car – its stunning. It’s an amazing feat of engineering.” All the gadgets, are operated by individual controls in a hidden switch

panel in the passenger door. At the push of a button, the headlights drop to reveal a twin set of simulated Gatling guns, complete with imitation barrel blasts and flashes. As witnessed in the No Time To Die trailer, the skid mode comes in handy when caught in a tight spot. The No Time To Die special edition has a unique digital number plate activated through the hidden control panel. Just like the original car, this special edition can produce a smoke screen to aid a successful getaway. Ejected through the rear ‘exhaust’, the smoke has a supply tank which supplies an hour of safe smoke before it needs topping up. Although the DB5 Junior is not road legal, as an authentic Aston Martin model, every owner will receive automatic membership of the respected Aston Martin Owners Club. In addition, all clients will receive complimentary membership of The Little Car Club, allowing them to take part in exclusive events where they, their children and their grandchildren can drive their DB5 Juniors on the most prestigious racetracks. Ben Hedley, CEO of The Little Car Company, said: “Regarded as the most famous car in cinematic history, the gadget-laden Aston Martin DB5 awed audiences around the world over fifty years ago. Now, that story continues. As part of an exclusive partnership with EON Productions and Aston Martin, we have had the opportunity to create something truly unique for James Bond fans and collectors. We can’t wait to see the adventures these cars take with their owners.” Bond fans worldwide are able to secure one of the limited-edition No Time To Die editions of the DB5 Junior by visiting 007junior.com. With only 125 cars being built, build slots are allocated on a first come, first-served basis, by placing a fully refundable deposit. Pricing for the car has been set at £90,000, plus local taxes. Existing Aston Martin DB5 Junior clients will be given first refusal on upgrading to a No Time To Die edition, and remaining build slots will be allocated on a firstcome, first-served basis.

DENTISTS OF THE YEAR 2021

Peter S. Chen, DMD, MMSc Advanced Endodontics SPECIALTY/FOCUS:

Root Canal Specialist. Dental Emergency Rescuer. Hero of Saving Natural Smiles. EDUCATION:

Boston University, BS; Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, DMD; Harvard School of Dental Medicine, MMSc. PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS:

American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontics, Florida Dental Association. With a vision to change the public’s many misconceptions regarding root canals, Dr. Peter Chen started Advanced Endodontics (AE) in 2008 with a one-chair practice in Clermont. Today, AE is a private specialty practice with 5 locations, over 25-operating chairs, and a team of 7 endodontists serving the communities of Central Florida. OUR PURPOSE & MISSION

Advanced Endodontics is about “Changing the Face of Root Canals, One Patient at a Time.” We help people achieve healthier lives by alleviating pain and discomfort, and saving their natural teeth. WHAT SETS US APART

Patients are our #1 Priority. Going to the dentist for some can be stressful, filled with fear and anxiety. At AE, it is about a 5-star patient experience focused on comfort, care, and convenience. From a modern, state-of-theart space that’s safe, clean, and welcoming; accompanied by a friendly and attentive team to a Comfort Menu offering of blankets, headphones, and iPads with the latest selection of movies and music for use during treatment, we are here to make our patients feel at ease. Modern Holistic Endodontics. To achieve the best treatment outcome, Dr. Chen makes sure his team stays current with the latest in advanced techniques coupled with modern technology, including the surgical microscope, digital radiography, the Apex Locator, and 3D CBCT imaging. We also provide alternative pain and anxiety management options such as Nitrous Sedation and the DentalVibe, a unique tool that uses vibrations to provide pain-free injections. The newest addition is the use of the Fotona Laser and bio-friendly fillers. Laser-assisted endodontics helps us achieve deeper cleans and more effective removal of the infection with minimal pain and shorter recovery times. Post Op Pain? No problem - we also use red light therapy aka photobiomodulation (PMB) that can help ease post op pain without the use of opioid pain medications. Complex Dental Emergencies? Challenge Accepted. It happens when we least expect it. A cracked tooth, sudden severe pain, extreme swelling, and bleeding, knocked out teeth. We recommend seeing your general dentist first; however, we welcome same-day emergencies. No referrals are necessary. Community Involvement. Over the years, Dr. Chen and the AE team have partnered with several non-profit organizations focused on children, oral health, and community development. From free dental care through Dentistry from the Heart, fundraising and meal packaging for families in need with US Hunger, and sponsorships with local baseball teams, to American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, holiday toy collections with BabyDJ, and more. GRATITUDE & APPRECIATION

Dr. Chen is honored once again to be selected as part of Orlando Style Magazine’s Dentists of the Year. We thank our patients and referring dentists for their continued trust, confidence, and support. Without them, our success and this nomination wouldn’t be possible.

Andrea Eliscu

President, Medical Marketing Inc. Founder, Dueling Dragons of Orlando A nurse and healthcare consultant by trade, Andrea Eliscu, BS, RN, is a community-builder, volunteer, mentor, philanthropist and social entrepreneur by passion. She serves as President of Medical Marketing Inc., a healthcare marketing and public relations firm she co-founded in 1984 to help physicians position their practices for success in the everchanging healthcare marketplace. In this role, she provides leadership and guidance to clients throughout the country and also serves as a respected resource to local and national industry trade organizations and media. Throughout her career, Eliscu has authored four books - It’s Personal: The Art of Building your Practice, A+ Marketing: Proven Tactics for Success, Ready - Set - Market! and Position for Success! Strategic Marketing for Group Practices, all published by the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). A fearless visionary and vocal advocate for health and wellness, Andrea has devoted her leadership, creativity, and countless hours to a number of community organizations, including the University of Central Florida College of Nursing, OneBlood, Orlando Ballet, Cornerstone Hospice, Orlando Health Foundation, A Gift for Teaching and the Orlando Rowing Club to name a few. However, she is perhaps best known for her tireless work with a program called Dueling Dragons of Orlando. In 2010, Eliscu brought the sport of dragon boating to Orlando and in 2011, formed an unlikely team — police officers and inner-city kids — to change how both saw and interacted with each other. She worked with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and then Orlando Police Chief Val Demings to create Dueling Dragons, the first program of its kind in the country. Devoting more than 8,500 hours of her own time to lead and operate Dueling Dragons over the past 10 years, Eliscu has drawn national media attention and made new headlines — stories about cops and kids working together, not on the streets, but in the water, away from any distractions, learning something new together, and seeing each other in fresh ways. In 2016, she was invited to give a TEDx talk about her work with the program, and it has also been featured on NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, the Today Show, and an Amazon Prime Video documentary released in 2017 and re-released in 2021. In 2018, Eliscu was recognized with the “Social Entrepreneur & Innovation Award” at Central Florida’s National Philanthropy Day breakfast. Her volunteer work has also been honored with a “Good Citizenship Award” from the Orlando Police Department and the 2017 “BOLDY Spirit of Collaboration Award” from Growing Bolder. Described as a “force of nature,” Andrea Eliscu’s passion is contagious, her energy endless and her commitment to her community unwavering.

Ly T. Nguyen, MD Eye Florida, A Comprehensive Ophthalmology Practice

Patients who visit Dr. Ly Nguyen’s office say she is a wonderful doctor; some say she is one of the most skilled ophthalmologist serving the Kissimmee and Saint Cloud communities. She smiles warmly when her patients tell her that she is a caring person who takes the time to listen and get to know them personally. Dr Nguyen says, “I have seen tens of thousands of cases but each patient’s life story is unique, and I can still remember the details of most of my patients.” Reflecting on her life, many signs point to her path in the field of ophthalmology. Growing up in the countryside in Vietnam, she developed night blindness due to malnutrition. While she was still in college at Brown University, her father developed early cataracts due to the harsh sun as a longline fisherman. These personal experiences shaped Dr. Nguyen’s passion and mission in helping her patients see better. As a board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Nguyen specializes in cataract, oculoplastic, and minimally-invasive glaucoma surgeries. She brings extensive surgical expertise and a warm Aloha spirit to her practice at Eye Florida through her residency training at the University of Hawai’i School of Medicine and Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute at University of Colorado. Her number one goal is to deliver exceptional and personalized eye care for the whole family. When she is not operating or running her private practice, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, and exploring historical sites. She dedicates her time to giving back to the community. She contributes as the current Chief of Surgery and previous member of the Board of Trustee for Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital. She is a co-founding member of the An Bang Professionals, a non-profit organization committed to providing financial assistance to promising high school graduates and underserved communities in the United States and aboard. She shares her time and knowledge to aspire the next generation of young professionals through mentorship programs. Several of her mentees have gone on to pursue careers in ophthalmology and many have been selected to present research paper at prestigious meetings including the Women in Ophthalmology Annual Meeting in 2020. When asked to share some memorable cases in her career, Dr. Nguyen spoke about a case of a young mother who was legally blind due to mature cataracts and insurance delays. By the time this young mother was referred to Dr. Nguyen, many had feared that her sight was permanently lost. Dr. Nguyen performed the cataract surgery and soon after, the mother was able to see! During her follow-up visit with Dr. Nguyen, she was overjoyed with tears that she could now see her young son’s face and watch him grow up.

Mahnaz Qayyum, MD Elysium Medical Group

British shores could not keep Dr. Mahnaz Qayyum away from the beauty of Florida. Inspired by physician parents, Dr. Mahnaz Qayyum discovered that health and beauty requires constant time and attention. Dr. Mahnaz Qayyum has practiced in Orlando Florida since 2004 and offers her services at two locations: Family Care Specialists of Orlando (Dr. Phillips location) and Elysium Medical Group (Haines City location). Patients can only achieve success if they regularly maintain their health and beauty. Dr. Mahnaz Qayyum can educate patients first then shift the focus onto a preventative mindset, and finally reminds patients to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Prescription pills are less important than a healthy mindset. This holistic approach includes Beauty and Aesthetic practices. Patients continue to lose weight and Dr. Mahnaz Qayyum continues to reduce wrinkles and frown lines. Did you ever look in the mirror and wonder, “could I lose 20 lbs”? She can help you achieve that. First and foremost comes diet and exercise. Patients are asked detailed questions about their lifestyle and eating habits. It is essential to take these into account along with personal habits as well as personality, likes and dislikes. She has achieved this with hundreds of patients in her Medical practice. Not only does she deal with a patient’s day to day requirements, but she also specializes in anti-aging, hormone replacement therapy and weight loss. Her philosophy is to establish and maintain the best quality of life. First, she gets to know the patient, personality, and background. She then asks patients about their health and beauty goals. A plan is jointly crafted to achieve the patient’s health and beauty goals. A large part of her practice is weight loss. Once patients have reached their medical and weight goals they can discuss aesthetics. Multiple services are offered: skin resurfacing, Botox and fillers. These are noninvasive procedures with very little down time. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is also offered for men and women. HRT is ideal to maintain patients’ energy and sexual needs. Elysium Medical Group has offices in Orlando and Haines City, Florida. Dr. Qayyum is Board Certified in Family Medicine. She completed her residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from King’s College, University of London, United Kingdom. She is a member of The American Academy of Family Physicians. She is affiliated with Advent Health. She also teaches and mentors medical and nurse practitioner students.
