Rob is presently a partner and managing director at 3 Rivers Capital, a Pittsburgh-based private equity firm focused on lower middle market buyouts. Prior to co-founding 3 Rivers in 2006, Rob had twelve years of experience in operational finance and process analysis. After receiving his Masters of Business Administration from Columbia Business School in 1994, Rob continued his career at Ford Motor Company, joining their newly-designed manufacturing finance training program.
John David Behnke was Managing Director of Freeh Group International, a firm which conducts corporate monitorships and provides strategic management of complex and sensitive inquiries, from 2008 until 2020. He also served as Director of Risk Management at Diamante Properties, a 1,500 acre high-end golf resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico from 2006 until 2019. He has over 22 years of law enforcement experience, with 20 years at the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He started his law enforcement career as a Special Agent of the United States Secret Service, after graduating with his JD degree from Washington University School of Law.
Tom is presently the head of the Realty Management Division at Goldman Sachs and head of the Irving office. He serves as chair of the Realty Management Division Operating Committee. Tom is also an MD ally of the firmwide Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Network.
While at Ford, Rob held numerous positions including line foreman at the Dearborn Stamping Plant, finance manager for the company’s North American Stamping Best Practices Team, and finance manager for the small vehicle transmission program. Rob joined Fisher Scientific in 1997, where he held various financial positions at the corporate and operational level, including business development, distribution, logistics, and sourcing. While trying to solve an inventory issue, Rob launched and became General Manager of an online business-to-business platform to market scientific equipment and supplies (Einstein’s Garage). After his success at Fisher, Rob launched Standish Consulting, a boutique strategic advisory firm, focused on operational, financial, and process design improvement. There, Rob successfully developed and implemented an Activity Based Costing (ABC) management program for a multi-billion dollar tier one automotive supplier. His success with the automotive group led to several other assignments, including several budget development programs.
During his tenure at the FBI, John served as Special Assistant to the then Director of the FBI, Louis J. Freeh. John planned, organized and coordinated the FBI Director’s official travel to 35 foreign countries, resulting in the establishment of over 25 new FBI offices overseas. John also served as the principal manager and liaison for Director Freeh’s visits to FBI domestic Field Offices and the FBI Training Academy in Quantico, VA. Throughout his tenure with Director Freeh, John acted as liaison with multiple foreign and domestic law enforcement and security services.
Tom joined Goldman Sachs in 1993 and held a variety of roles in the Firmwide Technology group in both Europe and the United States. From 1999 to 2001, he was head of Technology for the Asset Management Group and from 2002 to 2004 he had oversight of Technology for the Investment Management Division (IMD). From 2004 to 2006, Tom assumed responsibility for managing Operations and Technology for IMD. From 2006 to 2009, he was chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs Services in India, responsible for oversight of staff across Operations, Technology, Finance, Investment Banking, Global Investment Research, Corporate Services and Compliance. Prior to assuming his current role, Tom was chief administrative officer for Goldman Sachs Bank USA. He was named managing director in 1999 and partner in 2008. Prior to joining the firm, Tom spent a number of years in technology consulting and systems integration managing large scale technology initiatives for financial services firms, including Goldman Sachs. Tom serves as the president general of the American Irish Historical Society and on the Board of Trustees for Sacred Heart Academy. Tom earned a Bachelor of Science from St. Lawrence University in 1982. He and his wife, Maureen, live with their two children in Dallas.
Rob received his Bachelors of Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1989.
