Most people only go on Coastguard rescue boats when they are in some kind of trouble, but on Sunday from 10am to 2pm, both Tauranga rescue boats – the jet-powered catamaran TECT Rescue and the rigid inflatable Rescue Two – are available for inspection by the public at the Sulphur Point boat ramps as part of Coastguard New Zealand’s MayDay Appeal.
