A shock encounter on Sunday with what they believe to be a great white shark off Motuotau Island, also known as Rabbit Island, didn’t deter spearfishers James McGregor and Daniel
Eskrick from deciding to head out into the water once again the following day. “We went out to Rabbit Island with a couple of mates,” says James. “I was down on the
bottom about seven to nine metres... the next minute I look above me and there’s this big great white swimming over the top of me.” What’s in the water? Page 6-7. Photo: John Borren.

Other changes
Clearly 2020 was a time of great reflection and I was not spared from this sudden onset of navel gazing and serious contemplation. Therefore this is my last week as the editor of The Weekend Sun. From now on all compliments and complaints should be referred to my replacement, who conveniently shares the same first name – Dan Sheridan. He was actually one of three Daniels present at Sun Media when I arrived two years ago, which made life very difficult for everyone. You couldn’t just ask Daniel a question in the newsroom without three heads bobbing up like meerkats from behind our various partitions. Anyway, Other Daniel disappeared over to the UK but has returned and is about to be released back into Middle Earth after his obligatory stint in isolation. For those cheering for my departure, don’t be too hasty. I will continue to write this column until someone weirder comes along or I am sacked for not being correct about something important.
Ignorance is bliss
Which reminds me – or rather an intelligent and informed reader by the name of Brian advised me – that I may have misled readers last week about Legionnaires Disease. I may or may not have suggested that people can catch it from air conditioning units, which is technically correct but only if you go around sniffing the fumes off the cooling tower on the roof. There is apparently no risk of people catching it from the air that is circulating into their rooms. That will no doubt be a massive relief to people so I am happy to be the bearer of good news. You can turn the air-con’ back on now. Have a good Waitangi Weekend and watch out for wallabies. daniel@thesun.co.nz

A meeting of opinions
Protesters standing with signs and Maori flags filled the back of the Tauranga Yacht Club. Photo: Mackenzie Dyer.
Emotions ran high at a public meeting discussing the implementation of Maori wards in Tauranga on Friday. Hobson’s pledge members Don Brash and Casey Costello were headline speakers, along with former New Conservative member Elliot Ikilei. The gathering was organised by a group called Concerned Citizens, which has submitted a petition opposing Tauranga City Council’s decision to implement Maori wards. Protesters standing with signs and Maori flags filled the back of the Tauranga Yacht Club club room, behind rows of seats filled to the brim with other meeting attendees. Some of the remarks made by Brash, Casey and Ikilei were visibly difficult for protesters to hear, with many shaking their heads and tearing up. The introduction of a Maori ward was set to go to a referendum with the petition reaching the required threshold of 4742 signatures. However that will be trumped by legislation announced by Local Government Minister Nanaia Mahuta last Sunday that does away with the public’s right to a referendum on the subject. The first stage of the legislative reform will include immediate changes to establish transitional
measures making the establishment of Maori wards easier ahead of the 2022 local elections. In his speech, Ikilei argued that everyone wants equality and believes the implementation of Maori wards encourages segregation. He says judging people based on the colour of their skin is “nothing less than Nazi-style racism”. Protesters sang a waiata during his speech. When Brash began talking about Te Tiriti o Waitangi, opinions got heated, with both sides yelling at each other. Arguments for Maori Wards, and against the petition followed from iwi leader Buddy Mikaere and one other speaker. Buddy says the fact that no other ward has gone through the same process or scrutiny proves that racism is fuelling the petition. He says the views of Concerned Citizens and others who support the petition do not represent the views of Tauranga. “The tides are turning. Your day is done.” He says Maori representation on council is crucial, so Maori issues are properly represented. “When you see that actually, almost 20 per cent of the population in Tauranga is Maori, I am sure those people are entitled to have a say in how the city operates.”

Te Puke hit and run
Police are appealing for any information about a hit and run on Te Puke Highway, near Collins Lane, on January 21. A cyclist was seriously injured in the crash. Police would like to speak to anyone that may have seen a white, old-style sedan vehicle driving at speed towards Papamoa. “And specifically to two pedestrians who were walking along Te Puke Highway towards Tauranga at about the time of the crash.” Police would also like to speak with the doctor who stopped at the scene and tended to the cyclist. “Anyone with further information is asked to call 105 and quote Police event number P045216833.”
Wallaby wars
Pest control experts say they are finally starting to make a dent in New Zealand’s exploding wallaby population, as a battle to stop them destroying native forests rages on. The government last year allocated $27 million towards culling wallabies as part of its Job for Nature programme. Among those to receive funding is Dr Tim Day, a pest control expert working in the Bay of Plenty. The recent government funding means poisoning, shooting, tracking and culling can now take place at a much larger scale. There are now 16 people employed in the national wallaby management programme in the Waikato/Bay of Plenty.
Hose ban
Additional water restrictions are looming for Tauranga City. In a post on Facebook, Tauranga City Council says water restrictions are still on in Tauranga. “This means sprinklers are banned and all irrigation systems need to be turned off. “Record low flow levels in local streams are a concern. “If water use goes up any further, a hose ban may become necessary.” Water services manager Peter Bahrs warns that if the city continues on the trajectory it’s on at present, “we are probably going to be looking at the next level of restriction within a week”.
SunLive Comment of the Week ‘Wasted’ posted by Told you on the story ‘So who likes the new Wharf Street’. “I can understand why the revamp of wharf is not popular, it does nothing to improve or enhance the city centre, it’s only good to few people in Tauranga, and doesn’t address the real issues in the City. Poor projects over a number of years have the ratepayers very grumpy about the spending of their money on failed ventures, e.g. Greerton, Phoenix Park.”

It’s time to get up close with one of nature’s chic plants – the bromeliad. For those who love spectacular foliage and bright colours, the Bay of Plenty Bromeliad club open day next Wednesday is the place to see many rare and unusual varieties of the low maintenance, semi-tropical garden favourite. “Bromeliads seem to be on trend at the moment along with hoyas and monsteras,” says BOP Bromeliad president Lynley Breeze. “They look lovely alongside lush tropical plants and a lot of people put them with mondo grass, vireyas and the tractor seat plant - Ligularia reniformis.” Bromeliads also complement gardenias with their glossy foliage and the Xanadu philodendron Xanadu.
Lynley is one of about 100 club members who have fallen for the spectacular bromeliad which has more than 3000 known species. “What I love is you’ve got that lovely pattern all year, you’re not waiting for it to flower,” says Lynley. The club’s open day will provide an opportunity for the public to come and buy one of the hundreds of bromeliads on display direct from club members. “Most of our club members will be there, with a lot of sales tables operating. “It’s an opportunity to get rare and unusual varieties you can’t usually get in a garden centre. And our members who are experienced local gardeners will also share their expertise and offer advice – something not readily available in nurseries.” The open day will also be an
opportunity for members of the public to gain advice on the best position to grow their newly acquired bromeliad, or the best plants for a position in their garden. The club, which has been holding public open days for about 15 years, also has regular meetings at the Tauranga Yacht & Power Boat Club for ten months of the year on the second Wednesday of each month. “This is the time of year that bromeliads look their best,” says Lynley. “And most visitors may end up receiving a free bromeliad plant to take home.” The Bay of Plenty Bromeliad Club Open Day will be held on Wednesday, February 10, from 12.30pm to 2.30pm at the Tauranga Yacht & Power Boat Club at Sulphur Point. Entry is free, with raffles and spot Rosalie Liddle Crawford prizes.

A new home for Casita Walking into the Casita store it seems like a typical shop selling art, clothing and jewellery but it is much more than that. Casita is providing people with disabilities work experience and life skills The store in Greerton is the new base for the Casita organisation that is devoted to the growth and development of people with disabilities. Teacher Charrissa TaylorGaskell started Casita after seeing a lot of high functioning students in the special needs department who had nothing to go to after finishing school. After leaving school they quickly stopped having friends and would spend their days at home, says Charrissa. “They deteriorate in every area of life.” To combat that, Casita focuses on social skills, life skills, fitness and creating a sense of community.
Around five years ago, Casita was a small store in Te Puke, then Charrissa ran the programme from a van taking people to work experience and getting out in the community. Six months ago she decided they needed another premises and after a team effort the store and education centre opened two weeks ago. As well as providing work experience, some of the products sold are made by people with physical and intellectual disabilities. There are about 20 people selling products at the store and there is now a wait list for sellers. Vendors make a donation towards the lease cost to use the space. Morgan Penny is a volunteer and says it’s really cool to learn new skills, like working the cash register. She enjoys seeing how people react when they’re told about the store’s purpose. “The best part for me… is watching how people react to it

thinking: ‘wow, this is a really cool concept’.” Morgan was one of Charrissa’s first students 14 years ago and Charrissa says it’s really special working with Morgan as an adult. Charrissa works at Otumoetai College and Casita will be part of a transition programme for Year 12 and 13 students in the special needs department. Students will be given jobs at the store like cleaning and sorting and they will also be taught life skills like cooking. There are plans to install a full kitchen when funds are available or if items like a fridge and oven are donated. The hope is that in time they will be able to work with other secondary schools in Tauranga. Opening the Greerton store is a dream come true for Charrissa. “I’ve had so many big ideas and it’s amazing that three or four of them can come together in this one place.” Casita is at 1350 Cameron Road. “There was blood in the water so it’s probably why the shark came in so close and it was exactly where I had shot the kingfish.” James says other people had also been out there spearfishing during the afternoon. “I’ve seen bronzies and know what they look like and this was definitely not a bronze whaler. It was way too big. It was definitely a great white.” “He hissed to the rocks, he absolutely flew,” says Daniel who had been fishing from the boat. On Friday, the Department of Conservation issued a caution following several confirmed and unconfirmed sightings of great white sharks in the Tauranga harbour recently. “If you are heading out on the water in Tauranga Harbour over the long weekend, we are advising you to exercise caution and avoid swimming in the main channels, or berleying from kayaks and jet skis when fishing,” says DOC marine technical advisor Clinton Duffy.
Chris Rix, who works at Tauranga’s Hunting & Fishing, says there are plenty of sharks around the Bay of Plenty at the moment. As an experienced spearfisher himself he’s not fazed by it. “Bronze whalers are very common throughout Bay of plenty beaches this time of year, they don’t pose much risk to water users,” says Chris. Darren Shields, a highly respected spearfishing expert and owner of Wettie spearfishing and wetsuits, says it’s unusual for a sighting of a great white shark to be confirmed. “In all my years of spearfishing I’ve never seen one.” James is planning to get a Go-Pro. “Might invest in one this week and put it on the spear gun... If it happens again, I want to get some footage of it.” As soon as his group reached shore on Sunday, James told one of the Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service members about the sighting which has also been reported to DOC. Great white sharks are a protected species and it is illegal to harm them. Report sightings to: sharks@doc.govt.nz or to: 0800 362 468.

Brucie the bronzie An abundance of marine life in the Bay of plenty means sightings of seals, dolphins, orca, little blue penguins, stingrays and sharks is a commonplace occurrence while walking along the Papamoa beach. For those new to the area, the regular sighting of marine life may come as a surprise. Alison Hart lives at the far eastern end of Papamoa beach and is one of hundreds who have seen bronze whalers swimming casually in the shallows. “I see them all the time because I go down to the beach every day, in the morning and evening,” says Alison. “I walk down towards the Kaituna Cut, there’s lots of fishermen down there and they see this all the time.” ‘Brucie the bronzie’ is often the name given to any glimpse of a bronze whaler shark at Papamoa, whether it be a smaller younger shark or a larger older one. Last weekend Alison came across Brucie the bronzie frolicking about a metre from shore. “He was right there having a lovely time rolling

around and playing. He’s not as big as some of them I’ve seen out there over the last couple of weeks. I’ve seen big ones and small ones but that’s the closest I’ve seen. I used to see them every now and then and now I see them almost every day.” Alison’s family have been living in the area since the 1950s, and do a lot of boating in the harbour and up the coast. “It’s very cool to show people how close the bronzies are. Papamoa has grown so fast and new people to the area are not aware we have them swimming here.” Alison thinks the warmth of the water as well as the attraction of berley from the nearby fishers may draw the bronzies in. “If people have children in the water it’s good to make them aware, and always swim between the flags. “We’ve got a really healthy ecosystem. I pick up rubbish along the beach if I see it but we’re very lucky in that we have very little rubbish. “We see dolphins, stingrays and sharks out there, it’s really cool. They’re not going to hurt you if Rosalie Liddle Crawford you don’t bother them.”

Gorge closed for summer maintenance State Highway 2 through the Karangahake Gorge will be closed for a couple of days later this month. Waka Kotahi Transport Agency says the closure will be between 8pm and 5am on Monday, February 15, and Tuesday, February 16, for road resurfacing. Signage and cordons will be in
place between Paeroa and Waihi. Waikato system manager Cara Lauder says detours for this route are significant and encourages motorists to plan their travel for outside closure times, where possible. The work is part of the Summer maintenance programme.

Shooting for goal At the relatively new playing fields at Oceandowns Reserve, Mount Maunganui, Maia Ririnui and Barry Gardiner are getting set up for a pre-season training session for Tauranga City AFC. As players trickle in, the two NZF/OFC B licensed coaches are placing cones on the turf for the evening session. As always, starting from the ground up. The Bay of Plenty is a hotbed for football talent and in no place is that talent pool more evident than at TCAFC. The club’s U17s won the national title in December, defeating a Wellington Phoenix youth side which serves the country’s only professional football team. The U19 side were winners in 2019 and beaten finalists in 2020. Much of the success is down to the club’s junior and youth development programmes. The TCAFC Skills Centre and Talent Development Programme were first launched in 2018 and the winning results of the club’s youth teams showcases their success. Now, the programmes are being officially accredited by New Zealand Football. It is the first of its kind for such a programme in the Bay of Plenty and something the club are clearly proud of. “It’s great to have this recognition,” says Barry, the club’s director of football. “A lot of work goes into these programmes, on and off the pitch. “We have the support of some very good coaches and feel we’re making good progress with youth teams achieving at national tournaments and young players progressing into senior football at our club and elsewhere.”
Maia is head of youth talent development. He coached the under-17s side that won the national title at Western Springs, Auckland, in December. He points out that the accreditation is a welcome reward for the club’s hard work. “We’ve been doing the same thing for two years now. It will help us in terms of a bit more profile, possibly attracting a few more players.” He says the pathway for talented youngsters at City does not necessarily stop at Links Avenue, their home ground. Currently, seven young players on the books of the Wellington Phoenix have come through the BOP club’s system, another testament to the level of coaching on offer. But two or three have turned that chance down in order to remain in the current programme. “We can provide that programme to cater for them here,” Barry says. “They don’t have to go anywhere.” It is not just the elite pathway the club are enthusiastic about. They want to ensure anyone who comes under their umbrella gets the best out of the coaching on offer. “We want to make sure that no matter what level that player is we cater for them in that system,” says Barry. “If we can make them have a really good experience with us as a club and stay in football for the rest of their life, then that for me is a win as well.” TCAFC’s SKC and TDP programme resume this month. TDP is back from February 9 with the programme open to all interested players for a free, three-week identification phase. SKC starts on February 15. Acting mayor and deputy mayor Tina Salisbury.
Greg Brownless who was Tauranga Mayor from 2016 – 2019 has highlighted traffic congestion, housing, rates and democracy as key issues facing the newly appointed commissioners.

“They have a number of skills which will be useful,” says Brownless. “Let’s hope they are able to find solutions to traffic congestion and the housing shortage which many are concerned about.” Brownless doesn’t want commissioners to raise rates to fund development infrastructure. “That should be funded by the new development, not existing ratepayers. I also trust they have clearly in their minds the difference between the responsibilities of central and local government when it comes to funding.” He believes efficiency needs to come first. “Finally I’m saddened that it has come to this, largely through the mayor and councillors being unable to work together. That has cost Tauranga its democracy. The democratic right to elect local and central government has been hard fought for by many over the years. It should not be given up lightly,” says Brownless. Kelvin Clout who is a third-time councillor and former Deputy Mayor is saddened and frustrated by the events of 2020 which led to Minister Mahuta appointing a commission. “Even the independent Review and Observer Team report stated that the council had not failed to meet a single statutory obligation and that there was no obvious manifestation of an actual governance problem.” He believes the appropriate level of intervention would have been the appointment of a Crown Manager, which is what Council asked for, twice. “This would have retained local democracy and decision-making, whilst providing the Minister comfort that the Crown Manager could overturn any intolerable resolutions made by Council.” Clout feels the four commissioners won’t
be able to address the workload required by working part-time, as much of elected members’ responsibilities and time can be spent centred around engaging with the community and addressing individual constituent and neighbourhood issues. He also hopes the commissioners are bringing a large pot of money from Central Government. “It is untenable that Tauranga’s ratepayers fully fund the extensive infrastructure investment required to fulfil Central Government’s urban growth agenda.” Acting Mayor Tina Salisbury believes the city will be in capable hands. “These are highly skilled people who bring a diverse experience,” says Salisbury. “It is encouraging that the Minister intends this to be a short term appointment, to deliver this 2021-2031 Long Term Plan and bring us back to functional democracy in 2022. “The current funding model doesn’t work well for high growth councils with little room on their balance sheet to finance the work that is desperately needed, while also addressing maintenance, renewals, planning, and the ongoing work within the four well-beings economic, environmental, social, and cultural.” She says the commissioners need to abide by the same Local Government Act that Elected Members do, particularly when it comes to setting rates. “They are going to consult and engage with the community to find a rate that is both reasonable and robust, while also endeavouring to find alternative funding and financing options,” Rosalie Liddle Crawford says Salisbury.

Council faces funding ‘challenge’ The four commissioners that will act in place of elected representatives at the Tauranga City Council have been announced. The commissioners are Anne Tolley, Bill Wasley, Stephen Selwood and Shadrach Rolleston. They will start their roles on February 9. An independent review in November 2020 identified significant governance problems within the council, and in December, Local Government Minister Nanaia Mahuta made the decision to appoint
a commission. Councillor Jako Abrie and Mayor Tenby Powell resigned last year and called for a commission to replace the councillors. Mahuta says the commission is necessary to put Tauranga in a stronger position for the future. The council is facing substantial infrastructure and funding challenges that need to be addressed in its 2021-31 Long Term Plan, she says. “My decision to appoint four commissioners strikes the right balance between the significant decisions that need to be made and the important task ahead
in rebuilding the relationship between the council and the Tauranga community.” Mahuta says in choosing the commissioners she has carefully considered the right skills and experience to deliver the LTP, restore public confidence in the council, recognise the strategic growth challenges, work with iwi and develop a pathway to return the council to an elected membership in October 2022. Anne Tolley, who will chair the commission, was a Member of Parliament for almost 20 years and was deputy mayor of Napier City Council. She says she is pleased to be

appointed as chair. “As New Zealand’s fifth largest city, it is important that Tauranga is governed effectively. This will be a big challenge for the commission. “I am looking forward to working with the other commissioners and the people of Tauranga to address the council’s problems and return the city to full local democracy as soon as possible.”
Tauranga City Council acting chief executive Christine Jones welcomes the appointment of commissioners. She says staff are looking forward to working with the commissioners to address the city’s pressing, growthrelated issues. “The Executive team has prepared a comprehensive briefing paper to assist commissioners when they take up their new roles on February 9.”

Introducing NZAGA chair Linda Flegg Linda Flegg is bringing a wealth of horticulture knowledge and a passion for governance to the top seat at the New Zealand Avocado Growers Association table. She was elected chair at the end of last year, following the resignation of Tony Ponder after three years in the role. Linda says she’s excited to take on the challenge of being chair and help the industry perform at its best.
“I’ve been on the NZAGA board since 2016, which has made me realise that I’m very passionate about giving back to our industry by helping at a governance level,” says Linda. “I’ve been able to apply what I’ve learned at the board table to our family businesses – the benefits work both ways.”
Linda Flegg has experience across the avocado industry, from growing to picking and packing.
Life on the orchard
Linda is a director of the family orchard, Morris Moore Farms, and their post-harvest company Kauripak – both in Katikati.
She’s in charge of compliance across the whole business, from growing to harvesting and packing. “My parents bought a dairy farm at Kauri Point in the 50s, which has since been converted into a kiwifruit and avocado orchard with a small amount of grazing land. They are both still very active in the business today.” After time away, Linda returned to the family business in her late 20s. “The opportunity came up to come home and help manage the post-harvest side of the business, packing avocados for 160 local growers in our area. “I’ve been working for the same business since.”
light footprint on the earth, supporting strong communities and providing safe workplaces.” Linda says the NZAGA will be an active voice when decisions regarding the industry arise, including water availability and RMA issues. Being in the industry herself, Linda is very aware of consumer expectations. “Consumers from around the world want clean, safe and nutritious food, and see New Zealand as the provider of that. “We’re trying to emphasise these messages to all of our overseas markets.”
New direction
This is the first time in its 40-year history that NZAGA has appointed a female chair. Despite women representing 50 per cent of workers in the horticulture industry, a UMR study found women hold less than 20 per cent of leadership roles. Citrus NZ executive manager and Women in Horticulture member Rebecca Fisher says it’s excellent that Linda has been appointed as chair. “She’s not only well qualified, but she’s also a role model for women across the industry. “It is encouraging to see there is a strong pipeline to empower and support women into leadership positions.” Linda believes that the best person should be selected for any job regardless of gender, but is happy that there are better support networks available to help women realise their potential. “I’d like to give a shout out to the initiative Women in Horticulture, who provide support for women in the industry. “More women need to put their hands up for leadership roles, so I’ve recently joined the organisation to help make this happen.”
Improvements to the industry structure are on the horizon. In July, the board of NZ Avocado initiated an independent structure review of their organisation and their stakeholders. “The NZ Avocado Growers Association has lost its visibility as an organisation over the last few years, which is something I’d like to improve. “We’ve never undertaken a formal review before, so it’s a real milestone for the industry. “The information in the final report will give us recommendations to decide on a pathway to ensure we’re relevant for the next 20 years.”
Sustainable goal
Linda says the report will help NZ Avocado, and the avocado industry as a whole, to be sustainable. “Avocado growers are really passionate about long-term sustainability – not just for the environment, but social and economic sustainability, too. “We want the industry to have a positive sustainability story by making evidence-based decisions for everything that we do. This will allow us to achieve our goals such as leaving a

Tauranga’s strongest head to the Highlands The 28th annual Paeroa Highland Games & Tattoo takes place next weekend and there will be plenty of Bay of Plenty interest at the event. There is the added excitement of Paeroa hosting the New Zealand Highland Heavyweight Championship after the Waipu Highland Games were cancelled for the first time in 149 years due to Covid-19. It’s an impressive field that includes some from the Bay of Plenty. Tauranga-based Patrick Hellier is one of the country’s all-time most successful Highland Games heavyweight athletes. He reluctantly admits to being “past his use-by date for competing” and is now the event’s head judge. “We’ve got a good field this year,” says Patrick. “We’ve got a couple of Tauranga boys in it this year which is quite good. “A couple of the local guys that have done some of the strongman comp’s. They’re coming over to compete for the championship.” One of those ‘local guys’ is 31-year-old Andrew Wain, who is Tauranga born and bred. The personal trainer has a background in bodybuilding and strongman competition. His first Highland Games event was at the start of last year. Now, he’s hooked. “I was looking for something different, to mix things up a bit. I did Waipu (last year) and quite enjoyed that. I saw the Paeroa one and got an invite so I did that and it was good fun. “It was just something a bit different.” Events involved in the Heavyweight Event include the 16lb highland stone, tossing the caber, and the 16lb Caledonian hammer. Whilst you clearly need immense strength to participate, competitors are not necessarily your typical strongman, as Patrick explains.
The event is trying to encourage fresh talent into the sport over the coming years and Patrick says anyone in the Bay of Plenty with the athletic background that might feel suited to the events on offer should come and get a taste of the action at Paeroa. “All the guys that are in the gym and wanting to do something different, it is a lot of fun,” Patrick implores. For Andrew, the camaraderie of the events has also been a huge plus. “The person who is cheering you on is generally one of your
competitors. It’s a real cool crowd.” Andrew also loves the tradition and heritage of the events. Competitors wear kilts throughout and follow etiquette befitting this age old contest. The day ends with the Evening Tattoo whilst Highland dancing competitions also run throughout the day. Andrew makes it clear he will stop short of the dancing but there is one custom he is on board with. “You get a shot of whiskey too, when you throw the caber, so that’s always a plus side.” Mathew Nash

“It is a lot more athletic. Definitely explosive. “The strongmen are good statically but not mobility wise. Timing and technique is a big part of it.” Andrew agrees. “You’ve got to be a little more explosive. It is massively technical. It is not the biggest guy on the pitch that’s going to throw the farthest. “A bit of size does help but technique is key.”

Government priorities 2021 is underway and the Government have already shown their priorities - which don’t fit the city’s needs and expectations. First up, confirmation that the Bayfair to Baypark flyover is delayed until at least December 2023 - at the increased cost of $262 million. I find it hard to believe that this wasn’t known at the election, when locals were assured by the Labour Government that it was still on track for a 2022 completion. It’s a project that has served us one excuse after another for its failure, with huge impacts on the
local community. Then this week we hear that local community capacity to vote on establishment of Maori wards is off the table with a decree from Minister Mahuta. I strongly believe that local communities should have the ability to vote on such issues. I suspect our community would have appreciated knowing this was a Labour Government priority at the last election. Minister Mahuta has also demonstrated that she believes she knows best how to manage Tauranga’s needs, with her
announcement this week of four new commissioners to replace TCC’s Mayor and Councillors. She has appointed Anne Tolley, Bill Wasley, Stephen Selwood and Shadrach Rolleston, each of whom brings a wealth of experience and skill to their new roles governing our city. I wish them well in their endeavours but, along with many in our city, I also look forward to a return to democracy and a communityelected council to represent us next year.

“We personally have not had our vehicles broken into but we park our cars inside plus have dogs. “But our neighbours had theirs broken into,” Sian says. “We are definitely over all the crime that’s been happening in our community.” Sian insists she likes her street and neighbourhood. However, she is also tired of the recent theft on top of a number of other issues, some of which preceded the creation of the Make Arataki Safe Again Facebook group back in December. After a number of violent incidents in the Arataki and Bayfair area, community members started the group, which now has more than 3500 members. Police are offering advice to local residents to do all they can to reduce their risk of becoming a victim of theft from, or vandalism of, a vehicle. “Our staff regularly patrol areas in which we know there are issues. “We do this to help prevent incidents from occurring.
At least 12 members of the Make Arataki Safe Again Facebook group have reported incidents in the Arataki and Bayfair area over the past month. Many of them reported having windows smashed in. Tauranga Police confirmed they are aware of the issue. “Tauranga Police are aware of a number of incidents of vehicles being targeted by thieves recently in both the Arataki and Tauranga South areas,” a Police spokesperson confirmed. “The majority of these thefts were from vehicles which were unlocked with the valuables left inside them.” Sian Nightingale is a local resident on one of the streets regularly being targeted in Arataki.

Take the time to remove items like your bag, keys, cell phones, chargers, wallets, those loose coins, those gym shoes and your gear bag, your laptop or tools. “If you can’t remove it, make sure it is totally out of sight. Think about where you are parking. The best-case scenario is in a garage or off the street. If you can’t manage this, then at least ensure it is in a well-lit area. If you can, install a security system – this can include antitheft systems like an old-school steering wheel lock.” Mathew Nash

48 years a collector
Eric Green and his Farmall H and Farmall WD6. Photo: John Borren.
The tractors, engines and wartime cars in Eric Green’s machinery collection have plenty of stories to tell. Eric began collecting in 1972 when he bought a 1930 Ford Model A, his favourite piece. “It took me 28 years to get it going,” says Eric. “But it was ready in time to be a part of three of my four kids’ weddings.” Eric has six Farmall tractors, the oldest being a 1941 Farmall WD6.
Not museum pieces
While there are more opportunities to take the cars out for a spin, the tractors, all of which run, are certainly not left in the shed. Eric has been a Tauranga and Waikato Vintage Machinery Club member for 40 years, so he’s no stranger to a tractor trek. “The longest one I’ve done was from here to Whanganui and back via Stratford. “On another trek we went from Katikati to the Mamakus, Opotiki and around the Motu River. “I was on the WD6 and my partner drove my 1943 Farmall H. Both tractors can get up to 30km/h, and we probably drove 100km a day.”
Sought after motor
The oldest piece Eric has is a 1908 Gardner stationary engine, which he came across by chance. “A guy used to call into our place to buy fruit. “He saw the Model A and I mentioned that it had taken me years to get going. He had one himself. Each year he’d come back and ask if I’d got it going yet and said to give him a yell when I did. When I finally called him, I learned he had passed away. I spoke to his wife who said he had an old engine there, the Gardner... so I ended up buying it from her. “I recently got it going, too.” Farming equipment from the 20s and 30s also features in Eric’s collection – from tractor gear to
Katikati’s Eric Green with his prize 1930 Ford Model A.
stationary engines. “The engines are used to power implements like milking machines and water pumps. “These items were used before we could access power from the national grid, and when farmers were changing from horses to tractors.” Eric has hand-operated petrol pumps and fourgallon tins that were used to transport petrol to New Zealand before it began being transported in bulk in the mid-20s. “I have a late 20s fuel bowser that I’ve done up, too, which is certainly a collectable piece of equipment.”
Wartime cars
At the moment, Eric is working on his second Model A and a 1941 American Ford V8. “It’s an ex-service car – so it was used either in the US Army or Navy. Originally, it would’ve been painted army green and had shades over the lights, so spotter planes couldn’t see it. “There weren’t many cars built in 1941 because Henry Ford had to help make planes, tanks and other war machinery.”
The best part
Eric says hearing a restored motor turning over again is a great feeling. “Getting to hear the machines run just how they did in, say, 1908 is probably my favourite part. “For the technology to stand the test of time is quite impressive.” Eric says it’s also good to see kids interact with the machinery at events, such as the Tauranga club’s Crank up Day, which this year will take place on April 11. “Most kids like to see anything with wheels that go around. “Letting them jump in the cars and toot the horn, or doing activities like tug-of-war against a tractor is a great way to keep the next generation engaged in machinery.”

A very long week in politics This has been a tumultuous week in local government with the resignation of Cr Christina Humphreys who represented the Katikati - Waihi Beach Ward at the Western Bay of Plenty District Council. With the ongoing issues at TCC which saw multiple resignations by Mayor Tenby Powell, Jako Abrie and Heidi Hughes in 2020 and the soon to be confirmed ministerial appointment of commissioners to bring the council entity back to a high functioning capacity, it
is yet another catalyst at local government level which will now give rise to a by-election process for the vacant ward. Standard and Poors have accordingly now downgraded the credit rating of TCC by one notch due to a lack of confidence in their governance capabilities and performance and it also hints to the failure of previous local government to make decisions taking regional growth into consideration. We also observed a community meeting led by Don Brash apparently
endorsing democracy whilst simultaneously promoting a petition engineered to undermine the rights of Maori to lobby for representation through
Maori wards. This in the same week that the National Party announced that they would be standing candidates in the Maori seats which they have perennially campaigned to abolish. This was all followed by an announcement on Monday from Minister Mahuta that Government would make changes to legislation to
Jako Abrie.

uphold the rights of Maori and ensure an equitable process of representation at the local body level. Finally, it is the week in which Waitangi Day is commemorated and we acknowledge the foundation of our nationhood in all its glory, the good, the bad and the ugly. It is evident that we still have a long way to go.

New Zealand Kiwifruit Growers Inc., the industry body which advocates for 2800 growers, is encouraging its members to pitch in and donate to the most vulnerable through The Foodbank Project, a joint partnership of Countdown, The Salvation Army and Lucid. The drive recognises that Covid-19 continues to have an economic impact upon New Zealand with Kiwis struggling financially. Despite restrictions brought about by Covid-19, the kiwifruit industry has had a successful year, returning almost $2 billion in direct payments to communities around New Zealand. The industry has also welcomed people who have been displaced from their previous employment. “It’s great to see this drive as a continuation of the 2020 grower initiative launched in the Bay of Plenty to help support the unprecedented demand due to the ongoing impacts of Covid-19,” says NZKGI CEO Nikki Johnson. “Growers answered the call and donated thousands of dollars’ worth of food and necessities. As a result of the drive’s success, NZKGI is
committed to rolling out the appeal in other kiwifruit growing regions.” “The pressure on our clients and their whanau to make ends meet is enormous, and Covid-19 has added more uncertainty,” says Salvation Army territorial director of community ministries Jono Bell. “The Salvation Army offers immediate welfare support, food and housing, but our remit goes far beyond this. We believe in giving people a hand-up, not a hand-out. “We walk alongside people and offer practical support to improve their situations.” Instead of utilising drop-off points for growers to deliver food, The Foodbank Project allows a more accessible way for busy donors to help Kiwis in need by donating online and choosing from a range of products and bundles that are critically needed for food parcels. The order is then packed and delivered by local Countdown stores to The Salvation Army foodbanks of the donor’s choice. NZKGI encourages not only growers, but also other members of the industry and wider community to participate in this drive until March 5. To join the drive, visit the website: www.foodbank.org.nz/NZKGI

Live talks at Tauranga Art Gallery and present, culture and people. A live floor talk is a fascinating way to learn more about artist and ask questions in return. Tauranga Art Gallery’s resident art historians Ellie Smith and Ben Abdale-Weir will be conducting a floor talk about artist Tony Fomison on Monday, February 15, at 1.30pm. Tony’s art work is on show until February 21, and the free talk provides an opportunity to
take a deeper look into a particularly troubled period in Tony’s life, following his return from Europe when he was broke, grappling with addiction and cynical about society. Other exhibitions currently on display in the gallery include Matthew Couper: Isolation Paintings, Julie Morison: Head[case], and John Roy: Fool’s Gold.

JK Russ’s ‘Hard Sell Future’ exhibition, which ends on Sunday, February 7, reflects the artist’s feeling in 2019 that we were heading towards a global apocalypse with growing environmental and human crises. “And of course since then we’ve experienced the devastating Australian bushfires and a global pandemic,” says Russ. “So this work is a bit of grim comment on what I see as our current state of affairs globally. “However, I can also see hope through the indigenous cultures leading the way in protecting our natural environment, and the Black Lives Matter global protest movement. Maybe this has all led to a tipping point when populations undertake a cultural shift in thinking and behaviour.” Working predominantly with the medium of collage, JK Russ creates fantasy environments where hybrid humans merge with plants, birds, and other creatures. The Tauranga Moana Collection is on display until February 21 and provides an opportunity to view a selection of the treasures from the art collections of Tauranga Art Gallery and Tauranga City Council’s Civic Art Collection. Many of these works have been generously gifted by significant donors, or by some of Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading contemporary artists for future generations to enjoy. Democracy suspended, means you’re fired In reply to ‘Democracy Suspended’ by Steve Morris, expressed in your paper on January 29 (page 12), he still doesn’t understand he was fired by the Local Government Minister because he wasn’t up to the task. In his term he rightly acknowledges that our city had some of the highest residential rates of any city in New Zealand. Now if you consider that as an achievement, you can also add the huge financial bungles created as well. You are right about the ‘chilling”’prospects of the burden on our fixedincome residents. It doesn’t stop there though. The Minister rightly
identified you weren’t up to the task and rightfully appointed commissioners to set things right. They now have the challenge to rectify the mess you have created. The commissioners will prioritise the services you have allowed to be run down. I can tell you one thing, a new Mount library, as you once promised won’t be on that list. Furthermore it won’t happen in my lifetime. What all this tells me is that you should never be allowed to set city rates again. If you cannot identify the problem, then just look in the mirror. R Reid, Otumoetai.
Council sacking is a Kiwi ‘coup’ I experienced two coups whilst living in Fiji where the army overthrew the elected governments, but I never believed that there would be a coup in New Zealand. Sadly, Monday, February 1, 2021, New Zealand experienced its first coup! Minister of Local Government, Mahuta, announced she was removing peoples’ rights to decide if they want Maori wards. By abolishing Helen Clark’s legislation which allowed the people to decide if they wanted a special Maori ward for their local bodies that is a big coup, for Maori. Ironically, on the same day as Minister Mahuta condemned Myanmar’s army for overthrowing the democratically elected
government, she initiates her own coup here in New Zealand. I stood for the Tauranga City Council elections in 2019 and, like Buddy Mikaere, we were both unsuccessful. Now Maori want special wards created for the ‘Buddy’s’ to get onto local bodies. The Government’s spin on their coup is “that it is a huge step forward for Maori”. They don’t mention that this is undemocratic for the majority of New Zealanders, it is racist legislation. There has been no comment on this important constitutional change from our elected Prime Minister, or has she been overthrown as well? J Sherlock, Parkvale.

WELCOME WELCOME
In His famous Sermon on the Mount, Jesus taught we should do good to those who despitefully use us and bless those who curse us. Opposing ‘separatism’ Nanaia Mahuta’s racist mentality regarding Maori wards is seriously disturbing. To declare Maori ward seats fulfil a Treaty obligation is farcical deception. Under Mahuta’s decree I would be eligible to stand for a Maori ward seat or a general ward seat. Through descendancy rather than ability I am immediately advantaged. Success would be probable given my prominent Maori heritage which I could milk to sway the voter, paired with an impressive whakapapa. I could cheat my way to success over pakeha on both counts. This country needs a serious mentality shift. Maori are dealt a disservice with every hand out and leg-up. Dame Whina Cooper strongly opposed separatism. She advocated unity, marriage and a respect between races. Upon her passing, Maori radicals peddled their separatism dogma and some misguided pakeha of power and influence jumped on the same waka compounding the problem. I want people to focus on my individual attributes, not my skin colour. I refuse to tick a racist box when ‘New Zealander’ is unifying and sufficient. Of proud Maori descent, to call me racist is tiresome and rhetorical. Maori don’t need another hand-out of leg-up. We need a linking of arms on an equal basis. L Te Wiata Wright, Ohauiti.
An attack on independence That’s right D Morris, with your latest anti bus missive (Weekend Sun, January 29, page 30). Your call for a reduction in services is an attack on my independence. After all I don’t see you offering lifts to the likes of me, while your suggestion of subsidised taxi services is a bit of a contradiction given your persistent rants about rates and taxes. As to pollution and congestion if I were you I’d shift my focus to the number of cars on our roads with only one person. As to antisocial behaviour, some of our worst examples are behind the wheel. So don’t blame public transport for all of society’s ills, be thankful you have the option of a car and try to get over your obvious hang up about buses. Empty or not they’re not hurting you but they’re a big help to me. A Rogers, Tauranga.

No incentive to Growing cars on council berms do good When the infrastructure general manager for Tauranga City Council says that 66 per cent of respondents were in favour of a council led kerbside service, this may be so, but I am yet to meet even one of this 66 per cent. The fait accompli masquerading as a democratic and collaborative decision made between ratepayers, and the soon-to-be-replaced council, is faulty for more than one reason. There is no encouragement or incentives to reduce waste to landfill as there is with the throw-and-pay scheme operated by some councils, i.e: user pays. The single person household has as much bin capacity to fill each week as a family of six, i.e: one size fits all and you pay whether you use the capacity, or not. The existing system using local providers, offers choice as opposed to the monopolistic system proposed using an overseas based company; and the $230 mentioned is only the beginning. So the three households I am associated with, instead of using the one recycling bin, will share it among three bins after July, continue to deal with household garbage in our worm farms, and two or three times a year put out a user-pays bag for landfill. And will leave the empty bins road-side just to remind us all of another memorable example of Tauranga City Council decision making. N Harris, Tauranga South.
Bus stop is disgusting I try to avoid catching a bus into city other than for dental appointments, twice a year. I filled out a survey at library for Council to read about 18 months ago. I suggested something to be done about the disgusting bus shelter across from library. The foul mouthed teenagers, shouting and constantly crossing the road in front of cars, while two security guards look on, smiling with them. This was yesterday. I don’t feel safe there waiting for a bus, but at least this time I didn’t have to report any drunks rolling off the bench around midday, asking for money - when they can stand. Why isn’t this area spruced up instead of wasting more money on Wharf St. The bus shelter for a start. L Eyles, Mount Maunganui.
In reply to D. Watts’ problem with regards to the loss of street parking on Oceanbeach Road I would suggest that she park on the berm wherever a spot is available. It was reported in the Sun Live 31/1/2012 quote – “This afternoon Tauranga City Council confirmed parking is permitted on grass berms, unless specifically prohibited by council signage”. As I understand, it also applies to green space unless prohibited by council signage. However, motor vehicles parked on nicely mown berms are generally a common eye sore and annoyance, but why not invent a new name for them such as Autoracea mobillius, or maybe Autoteris nissanier depending on the make, and view
them simply as flora. Your berm is council property it does not belong to you. If people are berm parkers, hopefully they will get a park on their adjacent nicely mown berm if not already taken, rather than on a berm elsewhere. How long ago was it that Tauranga City Council glamorised the prospect of intensified housing development, when we can’t even manage present problems of our ever-worsening parking situation? Paradoxically, some people prefer to park on a berm or green space even when there are legal parking spaces on the adjacent roadside. D Wilson, Mount Maunganui.

The importance of self-love Healthy ageing “Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love,” Brené Brown.
What does it look like to love yourself? Begin with creating a list of the things you love about yourself. If this is difficult look at how you see potential in others and use that skill to see potential in yourself. When you accept others, use this method to accept yourself.
When being patient with others, apply this approach to yourself. Accept that life is not about success or failure, it’s about success and learning. Be grateful for who you are right now and for what you have in your life. Use the pain and frustration you will sometimes experience to motivate yourself, rather than put yourself down. When you catch yourself comparing your life to someone else’s remember, people usually present their highlights not their full story. And be thankful for the rude, difficult people – they serve as a good reminder of how not to be. What is the first step you want to take today to extend to yourself more love and self-care? If you would like to know more about narrative or relationship coaching phone Mary Parker, The Fast Track Coach, on: 07 577 1200 / 021 258 2145, or visit my website: www.thefasttrackcoach. co.nz
After work last Friday I sat with a group of friends in their sixties and older, and asked what ‘healthy ageing’ meant to them. One lady, a medical doctor for more than 40 years in the USA, chuckled and said: “Goodness, healthy ageing has as much to do with luck and genetics than anything else”. She explained that she’d worked with patients who were at the epitome of health and those who weren’t. Both often lived well into their 90’s and that there’s no onesize-fits-all formula for living a long and healthy life. Because we all have our own independent philosophies around wellness, I believe the key is to build a lifestyle plan stacked with reasons to succeed; it’s the best strategy to keep us motivated for the long term. Like a client of mine, who was more than 150kg and found the love of her life while dropping 70kg. Another client was crying on the treadmill after his doctor told him he
would not get back to full function after a serious stroke. Yet he did! He got back to work, back to driving and in-fact became a keynote speaker for Stroke Rehabilitation! What both clients had was a ‘desire to change’ and someone alongside them to help build a plan. Someone who believed in their success, sometimes more than they did. It doesn’t matter where you’re starting from, as long as you start! Follow my monthly article as I breakdown the ‘five lifestyle markers’ to take into consideration when designing your lifestyle plan, as well as some simple steps to follow and remember. Talking about inflammation, part one Inflammation is a critical part of our body’s healing systems to fight infections and heal against damage caused by injuries. The signs of inflammation are heat, swelling, redness, and pain including loss of function.

Inflammation is a process where our immune (white blood) cells produces chemicals that co-ordinate the process of removing the cause of the problem and then to clean up the mess to complete the healing process. These processes are complex and involve a wide range of cell types and a variety of messenger compounds. Many inflammatory problems are caused by overactive messengers triggering unwanted inflammation. The inflammatory process is like your kitchen tap. When working well you get cold water when you
turn the cold tap and hot water when the hot is on. Unwanted inflammation is like turning the cold tap and getting warm or even hot water instead. A common cause of unwanted inflammation is when our body tries to repair a problem that it cannot actually fix. This is typical of osteoarthritis. The problem is caused by cartilage erosion. But most of the pain is caused by immune cells inflaming joint tissue in an attempt to repair it. All this does is cause unnecessary pain, swelling and loss of function. Foods play a significant role in governing inflammation. Some foods, such as Omega 6 oils, sugars and refined carbohydrates tend to push our bodies to an inflammatory state. Others such as Omega 3 oils and nutrient rich fruit and vegetables help switch off unwanted inflammation. If you are affected by arthritis or any inflammation I recommend following an anti-inflammatory diet with supplements that can help reduce unwanted inflammation. Warning as asthma hospitalisations spike HAIR
Asthma and Respiratory Foundation NZ is urging parents, caregivers and schools to be prepared for the annual rise in asthma hospitalisations when children return to school after the holidays. An increase in asthma hospitalisations when school returns has been well-documented in overseas studies, with hospitalisations lower during school holidays. Hospitalisations tend to peak within two to four weeks of the first day of school each Term, with the largest increase occurring in Term 1 after the long summer holidays. Dr Lucy Telfar Barnard, a senior research fellow at the University of Otago and author of ARFNZ’s

‘Impact of Respiratory Disease in NZ’ report says "Preliminary work with New Zealand data shows the same trends as overseas, with increased hospitalisations in the ‘back-to-school’ period. “Further analysis will be needed to measure this properly - something we have underway.” Each year there are more than 7000 asthma hospital admissions in New Zealand with more than half of those for children under 15-years-old. Studies have shown that a variety of factors are associated with the increase, including a change of environment and exposure to different allergens, changes in emotions such as stress or anxiety, and exposure to more viruses from being around more people. Parents and caregivers of asthmatic children are urged to focus on prevention. "There are three key things that parents can do," says ARFNZ research and education manager Joanna Turner. “Talk with your child’s teacher and school. “Ensure your child has an asthma action plan and that this is shared with their school, along with updated emergency details. Take your medication - children need to be taking their preventer medication as prescribed and bringing their reliever inhaler to school - check that this is not empty or out of date. And understand your triggers - make sure your child knows what their triggers are so they can do their best to avoid them. Rouge : C0 - M100 - J100 - N0

The following are my favourite base of ingredients which, depending on skin condition I'm treating, will be followed with additional elements. Vitamin A is a hormone that naturally occurs in our skin. It is necessary for repair and maintenance to regenerate our cellular DNA as it becomes depleted by sun exposure. New users of Vitamin A creams should begin with a low dose and gradually build up to a

The importance of vaccinations Vaccinations can be a wonderful tool to help hepatitis, canine cough and leptospirosis and for cats the cat flu viruses as well as panleukopenia prevent disease.
Like all medication, we always want to be sure that we minimise risk when using them and although vaccine reactions are rare, we aim to use as few vaccines as possible to get the greatest immunity. A vaccination is a means of giving the body a much less severe form of a disease than it could potentially contract which primes the immune system to be prepared for the disease so that the animal doesn’t become ill when exposed to the real thing. Any vaccine is only as good as the host’s response to it and this requires an animal to have a healthy immune system. The main vaccines that we use for dogs protect against parvo-virus, distemper,

which can be deadly. For some of these diseases, research has shown that vaccines have a much longer term of effectiveness against disease than previously thought. Subsequently, recommendations on the frequency of vaccination boosters can be as long as three years and for some diseases we can do a blood test called a titre test to check that your pet is protected rather than blindly vaccinate. Vaccination has its place and can be life-saving but it’s important to consider each animal’s needs, weighing up their risks and their owner’s / guardian’s preferences.

The Weekend Sun’s ever popular guide to ‘What’s On’ in the Bay. Pg34
Festivals, festivals, festivals Who's the most popular band in the Bay this summer?
assembles a band of Auckland's finest musicians, including sax players Nathan Haines and Lewis McCallum (Sunday), but it's a Saturday show that has me most interested... Love, Linda: The Life of Mrs Cole Porter is a one woman show, written by New York-based jazz vocalist Stevie Holland – who first performed it – in collaboration with Gary William Friedman. Incorporating Porter's music, Linda Lee Thomas (Mrs Cole Porter) retells the story of their unconventional life together, “examining the darker sides... while also celebrating the deep love”. Fresh off a short season in Wellington, this iteration stars singer and producer Georgia Jamieson Emms, best known for her classical stage work. She'll be accompanied by Ayrton Foote (piano), Thomas Moore (double bass) and Sebastian Macaulay (drums).
It's a close run thing. What with Tauranga now being celebrated as Festival Central for New Zealand – this week sees yet another in the form of One Love's reggae celebration - there have been a whole bunch of different bands playing here in the past month or so. But taking the prize must be... Credence Clearwater Revival! Well, the tribute show at least. After playing at Waihi Beach just before Christmas, they were back a couple of weeks ago playing at a Twilight Concert in Katikati's Haiku Domain. Now they're back again, not on the Bayou but in the Bay, this time playing in Tauranga for the Entertainers Club on Valentine's Day (that's Sunday, February14 for you non-romantic types). Andrew invited the orchestra to accompany him in Vivaldi’s concertos, with the additional draw card of incorporating Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, a lesser known work by the Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla. Having performed some of Piazzolla’s fabulous tango-inspired pieces a few years ago in its Taiko to Tango concert, the Symphonia players were keen to join with Andrew and his colleague, top cellist Ashley Brown, in this special project. In the concert, Piazzolla’s South American ‘Seasons’ are interspersed with Vivaldi’s, including numerous cross-references to the famous concertos, and building in the joke of inverted

A quieter week, as we took a few days off, and consequently only did Thursday. Worked around the Okaparus and Astrolabe where the fishing was steady but got slower as the day progressed. We worked shallower to deeper and back in with similar results, so probably not a bad time to have a break. And the great weather looks likely to continue for a while yet.
G N I H S I F A I D E M N SU PRIZE PACK is coming your way!
