Volunteers keep Hollywood Lunch takes center Beach beautiful Saturday stage at Carini’s

HOLLYWOOD - It’s summertime. The kids are out of school and families from all over the world are headed to Hollywood Beach to cool off on these hot summer days. As with any popular destination, the more people who visit—the more garbage and debris gets left behind. One way the City helps to keep Hollywood Beach beautiful is by gathering volunteers every second Saturday of the month for the Hollywood Beach Sweep. Volunteers meet at Charnow Park, Garfield Street and the Broadwalk, at 7:00 a.m. to collect litter and cigarette butts from the beach. Year after year, Hollywood Beach is recognized by the Clean Beaches Coalition as a Blue Wave Certified Beach. The City of Hollywood works in many ways to continue to earn this designation –––––––––––––––––––––– HOLLYWOOD, Page 3A
