HOLLYWOOD - The Hollywood Coalition of Civic and Business Associations (HCCBA) cordially invites the public to participate in a Candidates Meet & Greet Forum scheduled for August 28th and 29th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The HCCBA, which is comprised of the Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, Committee of 100, the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and the Hollywood Jaycees, recognizes that the right to vote is a fundamental right of our democracy, and that providing an opportunity where citizens can interact with the candidates running for the Hollywood City Commission and learn their respective vision for our community is important for making a well-informed vote. Due to the large number of candidates running for the Commission, and in an effort to provide each candidate with an equal opportunity to respond to the public’s questions, the forum will be held on two nights. Candidates for District 1, District 2, and District 3 commission seats will attend on Wednesday, August 29th at the Hollywood Center of Performing Arts located at 1770 Monroe Street in Hollywood. Candidates for District 4, District 5, and District 6 commission seats will attend on Tuesday, August 28th at the Boulevard Heights Community Center located at 6770 Garfield Street in Hollywood. The candidates for the Mayoral seat will attend both nights. The two-night event is free and open to the public and the HCCBA will encourage the public to submit written questions to the candidates during the event. Refreshments will be served, and the proceeds will benefit local schools. To contact the HCCBA, please email hccba@ymail.com.
