PRESCRIPTION DRUGS TAKE-BACK DAY

Hallandale Beach wants you to empty your medicine cabinets

On Saturday, October 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Hallandale Beach Police Department will partner with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to participate in the second National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day at three (3) locations in the City of Hallandale Beach. This national take-back initiative will provide unified opportunity for the public to voluntarily surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutically controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. This initiative addresses a vital public health issue. Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Rates of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. are alarmingly high. The public is encouraged to take advantage of this invaluable opportunity to safely dispose of unused and/or expired prescription drugs. Collection Sites: • Walmart (parking lot), 2551 E. Hallandale Beach Boulevard. • Publix (parking lot), 1400 E. Hallandale Beach Boulevard. • Winn-Dixie (parking lot), 1055 W. Hallandale Beach Boulevard.
