COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing Clinic to Open in Aventura New clinic and website will offer

screening, testing, and telemedicine for the community with immediate access available to first responders and seniors age 65 and older Banyan Medical Systems, a nextgeneration healthcare services delivery and technology company, and Pivot Concierge Health, an integrative well-care clinic, announced today the opening of Aventura’s first drive-thru testing clinic for COVID-19 to expand the availability of testing in South Florida, reduce the burden on local area hospitals and staff, and help keep the community safe and healthy. The new clinic was created through a collaborative initiative involving Banyan Medical Systems, Pivot Concierge Health, the City of Aventura and the Aventura Mall.

Where: The clinic will be located outdoors at the Aventura Mall (Expansion Parking Garage next to Apple Store).

When: Operations begin on Monday, April 13, 2020 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Testing appointments are required and must be made through an online screening questionnaire at covidaventura.com.

First responders and seniors age 65 and older will be given immediate access to testing by completing the online questionnaire or calling 402-885-8125.

CITY NEWS Florida Department of Health Launches New COVID-19 Community Action Survey The Florida Department of Health (DOH) has announced the launch of a new community action survey, StrongerThanC19, designed to aid Florida as the state continues to fight the spread of COVID-19. This cutting-edge tool gives residents the power to unite in the fight to help slow the spread of coronavirus in Florida.

Governor Ron DeSantis said, “In addition to helping our state better identify and predict coronavirus trends in Florida, the StrongerThanC-19 community action survey will also guide users through the next ‘STEPS’ of preparedness and prevention measures. This will serve as another crucial instrument in helping to reinforce Florida’s ongoing efforts to fight the spread of COVID-19 across the state.”

Florida Surgeon General Scott Rivkees said, “We are asking residents to take two minutes out of their day to take the

StrongerThanC-19 community action survey and answer the brief series of questions provided. The responses will be used to help the Department improve the distribution of resources to support healthcare and other initiatives across the state.”

Florida residents are encouraged to do their part in helping Florida flatten the curve by anonymously answering questions that range from age and

Effective April 10th the City of Aventura will require all employees and customers of grocery stores, pharmacies, and restaurants to wear a form of covering over their nose and mouth at all times while inside the grocery store, pharmacy, or restaurant facility. All individuals providing delivery services will be required to wear a face covering over their nose and mouth while making deliveries. The CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

CDC also advises the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others. Cloth face coverings fashioned from household items or made at home from common materials at low cost can be used as an additional, voluntary public health measure.

Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the cloth face covering without assistance.

The cloth face coverings recommended are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators. Those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders, as recommended by current CDC guidance.

Should cloth face coverings be washed or otherwise cleaned regularly?

How regularly? Yes. They should be routinely washed depending on the frequency of use.

How does one safely remove a used cloth face covering?

Individuals should be careful not to touch their eyes, nose, and mouth when removing their cloth face covering and wash hands immediately after removing.
