The Season Is Here And Area Businesses Are Striking While That Iron Is Red Hot! By Larry Blustein sfsuntimes@aol.com Miami Gardens – As thousands packed last Saturday night’s Orange Bowl, which was won by Wisconsin over the University of Miami, there was a sense that this was a week where everyone came out a winner. While the Hurricanes are still a work in progress, just being in

this 2nd longest running bowl game was a huge honor. So, while many of the local fans partied and put some money into our area businesses, it was that last three to four day push right before the game at Hard Rock Stadium that helped. If many are wondering what the season is all about for the area business, you are indeed in

the middle of it right now. What happens over the next four months will dictate whether a local restaurant or specialty shop will have to cut or even layoff employees, and that is where things really get scary. Ida Moreno is a waitress at a local restaurant and will tell you firsthand Economy, Page 3A

Last Saturday night’s Orange Bowl Game - and the festivities leading up to the contest at Hard Rock Stadium between Wisconsin and Miami - attracted thousands and thousands who ate in our restaurants, spent money in our businesses and stayed in our hotels.

Keith Lippman has been waiting for the “approval” Marijuana, Page 3A
