Racial divide is a reality
MLK Tribute Will Be A Very Hot Topic This Weekend By Larry Blustein sfsuntimes@aol.com This coming weekend is dedicated to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. across the country. This year will certainly take on a new meaning. There is no mistaking
that this nation continues to be torn apart by racial divide - and no more did it shed its ugly head than this past year. From Charlottesville, Va. to Gainesville, Fl., the message was hate - and it made no difference who
was watching. What America has continued to turn to - at just about every opportunity - is to show that we are indeed a country that cannot seem to hurdle

Your Mouth Is A Window Into The Health of the Rest of Your Body...
NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION: GET YOUR MOUTH CHECKED
It can show signs of systemic disease or infection before they are visible elsewhere. We are trained to recognize these signs and administer testing that can identify disease or potential areas of concern. Regular dental visits will not only help you maintain healthy teeth and gums, but may help you prevent serious health conditions and maintain optimal overall well being.
ORAL HEALTH AFFECTS TOTAL HEALTH When gums become infected and inflamed from periodontal disease, bacteria in plaque can spread and grow below the gum line. The bacteria can then enter into the blood stream and travel to major or-
gans and begin new infections. Ongoing research suggests that periodontal disease may be linked to heart disease, osteoporosis, and diabetes.
PERIODONTAL DISEASE Seventy-eight percent of the adult population has some form of periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is a serious inflammatory condition, caused by a bacterial infection, that leads to destruction of the attachment fibers and supporting bone that hold your teeth in your mouth. When fibers are destroyed, the gums separate from the teeth, forming pockets

Judy Harel’s Lasik Surgery Was Indeed Life-Altering
Life Gets Better After the First 50 Years
Hollywood - For the first 50 years of her exciting life, Judy Harel had never had vision problems. Using the computer and reading for several hours, there wasn’t a need to worry about her eyesight. But then, like anything in life, changes started to happen - and when it was a battle to see clearly, something had to be done.
“I knew things weren’t right when I couldn’t see at all,” she recalled. “I had to wear those magnified glasses just to read, and that was really crazy. You just knew that something wasn’t right.” While it became a struggle to see at times, her life was certainly enhanced when she moved to South Florida two years ago. In addition to the great year
round weather, she also found Dr. Stanley Braverman. That is when things really began to change. “I remembered the first time I met Dr. Braverman - it was for a routine eye exam,” Harel said. “You could tell that if I ever needed anything major, this is where I would come.”
