NOT A HAPPY ANNIVERSARY One Year Ago Today – 17 Were Killed At Douglas High In Parkland
By Larry Blustein sfsuntimes@aol.com As you read this article today, it will be with great sadness. One year ago this very
afternoon, lives were changed forever when 14 students, two coaches and an athletic director were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High
School in Parkland. In the days, weeks and months after this senseless tragedy – there was an outpouring like never before. The loss of life at
a place that we all believe is a secure and safe haven, brought everyone from politicians and Hollywood stars - to teens from all over the world - rallying
to make everyone understand that this cannot happen. It has been a time where finger pointing has been the response for
everything that went down on that Wednesday – late in the school day. Youngsters who turned into heroes at a place where none of these students or school officials ever saw this coming. How could they? When the dust had settled and the battle cry of: “this will never happen again” was heard by everyone all over the world, reality continued to set in – knowing that gun control will never be controlled – and mental health will continue to be ignored. What this has been about all along is not guns, but who are using those guns – or pipe bombs – or pressure cookers – or poisons that come in the mail. As long as mental health is ignored, this scene and others like it, will continue to repeat itself. 100 percent guaranteed!

Practice Good Oral Health HAPPILY EVER AFTER
Your Mouth Is A Window Into The For South Florida Husband & Wife Health of the Rest of Your Body Physicians, Seeing Was Believing When gums become infected and inflamed at The Braverman Eye Center from periodontal disease, bacteria in plaque can spread and grow below the gum line. The bacteria can then enter into the blood stream and travel to major organs and begin new infections. Ongoing research suggests that periodontal disease may be linked to heart disease, osteoporosis, and diabetes.
What Dr. Patricia Bobadilla and her daughter are telling everyone this year is to visit their dentist and practice good oral health. It can show signs of systemic disease or infection before they are visible elsewhere. We are trained to recognize these signs and administer testing that can identify disease or potential areas of concern. Regular dental
visits will not only help you maintain healthy teeth and gums, but may help you prevent serious health conditions and maintain optimal overall well being. By now, we all know that Oral Health Affects Total Health.
Periodontal Disease Seventy-eight percent of the adult population has some form of periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is a serious inflammatory condition, caused by a bacterial infection, that leads to destruction of the attachment fibers and supporting bone that hold your teeth in your mouth. When fibers are destroyed, the gums separate from the teeth,

Hollywood - For Dr. Tsun Yee Law and his wife, Dr. Chau Nguyen, having better than average eyesight is not only important, but life saving. Both physicians who work in Fort Lauderdale have had issues through the years with their vision. Knowing how important it is to what they do, when things were not “perfect” it was time to look into correcting something that was indeed paramount. Dr. Law’s story is truly something that everyone should listen to. Here is someone who grew up poor - where getting glasses or corrective lenses - put a strain financially on the family. In school, he can recall having to always be in the front row. He did what he could to see, but without corrective lenses, it was tough. Throughout his life he was near-
