Voters Speak Up For Change Political Newcomer Mike Butler Is The Choice For Seat 1 In Hallandale Beach
By Larry Blustein sfsuntimes@aol.com With perhaps more issues and more negative spotlight than any other city in South Florida, Hallandale Beach voters went to the polls Tuesday – and when the day had ended – change was indeed the key word. With plenty of political baggage to overcome – even though he was cleared of all charges made against him – veteran politician Bill Julian was beaten – along with Ann Henigson, Thomas Sands and John Stassi. Emerging from the pack of candidates is political newcomer Mike Butler. A 20-plus year resident, who deals in the reality of life daily – as a 25-year employee of Veritiv, a Fortune 500 company that distributes
packaging and publishing products. What Butler gives the City of Hallandale Beach is someone who is a no nonsense kind of person who appears to be the type of commissioner who will think on his own – and has the track record that certainly backs it up. “I sat through two debates for this election,” Tonya Porter said. “The first one had Ms. Henigson, Mr. Julian and Mr. Sands, and the second added Mr. Butler. Even though he may not have a political background, Mr. Butler does have impressive business sense that is something that this commission has never really had

Flooding Is A Concern To Residents Throughout The Year
1st Priority Restoration Will Get Your Home or Condo Clean And Back To Normal As we are now moving out of our South Florida “winter” and heading into spring, there is a reminder that we’re in an area that has the potential to flood year round. In other areas of the country, melting snow is blamed this time of year for the flooding, but here in our slice of paradise, we are often at the mercy of tropical rain, even in March and April, that can cause flooding and eventually bring on mold and mildew. As many are still
patching things up from last year’s hurricane season, unfortunately, we are right around the corner (less than three months) from another one. When it comes to recovering from yearround flooding, 1st Priority Restoration does a professional complete cleaning job giving the consumer, "peace of mind." “They can take care of all of your cleaning and water damage. They conduct leak and mold detections and work with your
insurance company and adjuster.” Fully understanding the area and the climate, 1st Priority Restoration is ready to spring into action 12 months a year. Having the experience to know that flooding and water damage are not seasonal. In fact, during the recent winter rains, many local residents had roof leaks and even foundation problems, where the water got into the house and lifted tile. Flooding, Page 4B
Most people who have water damage that has devloped into mold and mildew have very little clue what kind of health risks they are being exposed to. 1st Priority can clean it right away!
