Stormy Hurricane Season Again? Early Forecast Calling For Very Active Tropical Weather

With things getting cranked up in less than two months on June 1, the 2017 season reminded all of us how powerful and destructive these monster storms can be.

By Larry Blustein sfsuntimes@aol.com When it comes to hurricane season - or even looking ahead to it, especially after last year, everyone is certainly listening. Last week, as they do every year, the storm forecasters at Colorado State - of all places -

Single-Tooth Replacement: Bridge vs. Implant Dr. Patricia Bobadilla and The Staff At Broward Dental Have Your Options! Clinicians are routinely faced with the need to restore a single tooth in an otherwise non-restored dentition. Traumatic incidents, caries and congenitally missing teeth are common etiologies. In these situations, the treatment options include a traditional fixed partial denture, a resin bonded restoration and a single-tooth implant. Although each is a viable treatment alternative, the implant restoration has definite advantages. It has become an aesthetic, functional restoration with long-term predictability, and it is the ideal treatment for a single-tooth replacement in a pristine dentition.

The Fixed Partial Denture The traditional treatment for a single edentulous

space is a conventional fixed partial denture. A major shortcoming of this alternative is the significant tooth reduction of the abutments. Subgingival margins are required in aesthetic situations, but these are associated with increased gingival inflammation. In addition, the longevity of a fixed partial denture is estimated at 8.3-10.3 years. Consequently, a young patient would require numerous replacements of this restoration over a lifetime.

Resin-Bonded Restoration Resin-bonded bridges were introduced as an alernative to traditional fixed partial dentures after Bobadilla, Page 3A
