Hollywood’s annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration attracts a large crowd Every year, the City of Hollywood rolls out perhaps the best area St. Patrick's Day celebration with a parade and a full day of food, drink and entertainment, lining all of downtown along Hollywood Blvd. Last Sunday, Ethan Fishbein, 5, came out with his parents, Charles and Angela, to take in the day of fun. Ethan collected plenty of beads to go along with the ones he got last year! The parade was also a huge success - with floats and bands from all around Hollywood. The businesses in and around Hollywood Blvd. did very well.

Traffic woes By Larry Blustein sfsuntimes@aol.com It could be 163rd Street, Miami Gardens Drive, Ives Dairy Road, Hallandale Beach Blvd., Hollywood Blvd., Sheridan Street or Stirling Road. You are headed east in the morning and west in the evening and you are not moving! Welcome to winter and spring in south Florida - and while we all realize that traffic is with us 12 months a year - it tends to get worse during the five months from November until late March. With visitors flocking to this warm weather paradise, the traffic increases and many locals are not happy.

The free concert features the Wood Brothers, which is formed by bassist Chris Wood (founding member of jazz trio Medeski Martin & Wood) and guitar player Oliver Wood. HOLLYWOOD - Head out to the ArtsPark at Young Circle in Hollywood this Saturday night for an evening full of live Americana music. The free concert features the Wood Brothers with an opening set by Rachel Goodrich. The Wood Brothers is formed by bassist Chris Wood (founding member of jazz trio Medeski Martin & Wood) and guitar player Oliver Wood. NPR described their recent collection of “gracious little songs [that] sound like they were born on a front porch during a beautiful sunset.” Their sound shuffles between bluesy, classic country and swampy funk, mining the brothers’ timeless influences (Robert Johnson, Willie Nelson, Charles Mingus) while sounding fresh enough to win over fans of today’s mainstream roots-music acts (The Avett Brothers, Mumford & Sons). –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– HOLLYWOOD, Page 6A
