Expo Alfresco was a huge success The Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce (GHCC) celebrated the 20th Annual Expo Alfresco –A Taste of Hollywood last Wednesday, April 8th, 2015 at ArtsPark at Young Circle. The extravaganza showcased over 100 booths from South Florida’s finest eateries and businesses and attracted over 3,000 attendees! On stage the crowd welcomed the “Firehouse Cook Off Showdown III”--presented by the Leadership Hollywood Class 39 Community Service Project. A panel of 5 judges decided that this year’s winner was the Hollywood Fire Department! For more see Page 2A.

HOLLYWOOD - The City of Hollywood is hosting one of its popular free shredding events for Hollywood residents this Saturday, April 18 on the west side of City Hall Circle at 2600 Hollywood Boulevard from 8 a.m. until the trucks have reached capacity. Please note this shredding will be a drive-up event and entrance to City Hall Circle will be strictly limited to South 26th Avenue with exiting traffic directed to North 26th Avenue only. Employees will be available to assist with unloading your papers. Residents must provide proof of Hollywood residency (driver’s license,

utility bill, tax bill, etc.) There is a limit of 3 boxes of paper records per household. Only paper will be accepted—CDs, DVDs, heavy binder clips, plastic binders, X-rays and similar items are prohibited. As always, staples and paperclips can be shredded. Please keep in mind that only personally identifiable records/papers will be accepted—routine household recycling (newspapers, magazines, etc.) cannot be accommodated. HALLANDALE BEACH More than 50 children descended on Hallandale Beach City Hall last week for the annual Take Your Child to Work Day, Friday, April 10. The children visited each department to get exposure to the multiple jobs required to serve the residents. The first stop was Fire Rescue. Page 9A.
