This past week has seen a frenzy of activity at Laurenzo’s Italian Market in North Miami Beach as the 69-year old establishment marked its final month with incredible discounts. Italian wines and specialty products were carried out the door by the cases. “Some of our loyal customers spent many hundreds of dollars to stock up on

wines, specialty olive oils and canned goods that are not available at any other place,” said David Laurenzo, “and we are happy to know that they will continue to enjoy them.” Laurenzo’s Italian Market officially closed its doors for the last time yesterday, Wednesday, July 31st. However, the Farmers’ Market with its fresh daily unique seasonal produce will remain open.

The 2019 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday was passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis. This years sales tax holiday begins tomorrow, August 2, 2019, and runs through Tuesday, August 6, 2019. If you would like to save some money for your back-toschool items, here is some information that can help. Different from last year, computers and computer accessories are part of the sales tax holiday. Computers and accessories must be at a price of $1,000 or less per item. Included are e-readers, laptops, desktops, handhelds, tablets, & tower computers. Computer accessories include cables, printers, data storage devices, docking stations, and modems/routers. Not included are cell phones, video game consoles, and digital media receivers.
