IMMIGRATING TO THE UNITED STATES Hollywood Florida Attorney Carlos Sandoval has a new guide that gives the ins and outs of obtaining an immigrant visa in the United States.
As an immigration attorney, Carlos E. Sandoval is well aware of the process for immigrating to the United States. Sandoval recently encapsulated this
knowledge into his new book, “An Immigrant’s Guide to Achieving the American Dream,” which is available for free in English and Spanish on his web-
site, www.carlosesandoval.com The guide was created specifically for foreign residents who wish to live permanently in the United States. Sandoval dis-

Hurricane Dorian was a big storm that was coming our way with great forces and winds.
HURRICANE DORIAN We dodged the big storm, our neighbors to the east were not so fortunate By Hallandale Beach Mayor Joy Adams
Hello everyone of the great City of Hallandale Beach. This past weekend was a very active one due to the emergency activation of Hurricane Dorian. We truly are grateful as we missed a big storm this past weekend. Hurricane Dorian was a big storm that was coming our way with great forces and winds. I am glad that we took the proper precautions to fully prepare for this storm in case we were in its
path. Each department in the city took the extra duties of getting prepared for the storm. A special Thank you to our Public Works, Fire Department and our Emergency Operation Center Support Team as they were a great help during this time. I want to commend the wonderful staff of Public Works and the other City Departments for their work in distributing more than 10,000 free sand bags to HB Residents and Business
Owners at the Big Easy Casino located at 2410, 831 N Federal Highway, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009. Police and Fire employees were also out there during the activation to assist and ensure that our community was safe. They worked extended hours and were on standby for any issues that could arise. A sincere thank you to the Big Easy Casino as they let the city use their location for the distribution of the supplies. I am glad to see
the entire city come together to help each other during this time. I also want to take a moment to thank the Emergency Operations personnel that were actively working non-stop. A big thanks to the Emergency Manager and the Interim Fire Rescue Chief Pagliarulo, Emergency Coordinator Yvonne Feijoo, Emergency Public Information Officer Chief Williams, Police Chief Quinones, City Manager Chavarria, Assistant City Managers Earle and Klopp, and Public Works Director Sylvain. I am also grateful that our City can count on CERT volunteers Gina Alexis, Dorian, Page 3A
MOLD AND MILDEW FROM THE STORM 1st Priority Restoration Keeps it Under Control, (1-800-617-1112)
With Hurricane Dorian behind us and all the severe rain and local flooding it brought along with it, water intrusion and mold damage is on the horizon. This wind driven rain will impact your home or condo and you may not even know it. In addition to the rains we receive almost every day, this weather certainly has an affect on our daily lives, we have
to take our children to school in it, as well as walk outside to get from point A to point B without getting soaked. These rainy months are always a hassle, but the long term effects that this type of rain can have on your home or condo can be devastating if you aren’t prepared, or don’t know who to call for help. In addition, we also have a few

more months of the 2019 Hurricane Season remaining, so now is the time to get your home checked for water intrusion, mold and mildew. The health hazard from living in a home or condo with mold and mildew damage can impact your health quite severely. If you wait too long, the damage can get worse and the cost can quickly add up.

As we all know there is nothing predictable about the weather. One day it can be hot and humid and the next, heavy rains and lightning, along with high winds that are often damaging. That water that gets under the foundation or into the structure this is often a recipe for dis-
Artists Draw Their Studios Invited by artist and guest curator Michelle Weinberg, more than 50 artists will contribute drawings of their workplaces in a unique project that exposes the diverse ways that artists perceive their own creative work and lives. What is a workplace like when the conventional definitions of work and play don’t apply? At a moment when art districts are tourist destinations and artworks operate like financial instruments in a booming art market, Artists Draw Their Studios is an opportunity for the public to appreciate the intimate and eccentric relationships artists have with their own workplaces. No guidelines have been given other than that the works be predominantly
