Look Out For The Menorah Cars
May Our Days Be Filled With Light, Warmth And Joy
By Rabbi Moishe Kievman - Chabad Chayil
This year, Chabad-organized Menorah Parades will see over 7,000 Chanukah Menorah topped cars hit the road
You’ve probably seen Menorahs going up all around town. This year you will also see a lot more Car Menorahs, proudly displayed on the roofs of private vehicles throughout Florida and beyond. That’s because Chanukah is coming and the Mitzvah on the holiday of lights is to share the light. What better place to share that, than with those we share the roads with?
Chanukah is known for the miracle of the Menorah that took place in the Temple, but the holiday was called Chanukah from the word Chanukah Habayit (lit Dedication of House), because it was the rededication of the Temple, after being occupied by the Greeks. Chanukah also comes from the word Chinuch, which means education. During this holiday we are supposed to gather our families together and educate our children and ourselves about the miracles done for us on a constant basis. Together with recalling the original Chanukah miracles, we remind our families about the personal family stories that we each have, that brought us to where we are today.

Shop With A Cop: Hallandale Defines The Spirit Of A Community
By Stephen Cummings
As the holiday season approaches, the spirit of giving to those less fortunate than ourselves defines the spirit of a community.
The Hallandale Beach Police Department in conjunction with the Hallandale Beach Police Athletic League brightened the lives of 110 deserving children showering them with gifts and encouragement building gingerbread houses together celebrating the annual tradition of Shop With A Cop.
Foster Park has become the newest venue for the Police Athletic League hosting their various
programs and PAL Program Director, Jonathan Carrillo decorated the facility with great assistance from Laqueshia Brinson and fellow staff members from Gulfstream Academy reflecting a scene from a winter wonderland.
The children were chosen by the Police Department and the schools as each child created a wish list for Santa Claus and the presents were purchased at a local Walmart.
Carrillo is grateful to the lead sponsors for their continued generosity who include Harry Escandon from Crosstown Towing and Recovery and David Burton who serves as the fundraising chair
for the PAL as well the Windhover Foundation with Richard Quadracci. Also, this event is made possible by local Attorneys Robert and Stephanie Fehnstersheib, AIG Technologies, Page Properties LLC. and Kiwanis Member Stephen Cummings.
Prior to Santa delivering the gifts to the anxious children, Ricardo Mendez, Director Of Community Relations for Chick Fil A ensured that all the guests and volunteers were well fed with chicken sandwiches, chips, cookies and juice packs. Mendez has been a huge supporter of the Police Athletic League often providing complimentary food.
Shop With A Cop takes place in several communities, but none to my memory serve as many needy kids as in Hallandale Beach. This program was implemented in Hallandale Beach in the late nineties and often took place inside Walmart, but Jonathan Carrillo has slightly redesigned the program since the wave of COVID-19 swept the nation. Hallandale Beach Police Chief Michel Michel, a twenty year Veteran of the Police force proudly watched scores of officers volunteer their time sitting with the children making the gingerbread houses presenting themselves in a very positive
fashion. The reality is that we usually see police officers when we are in trouble or receiving a traffic citation, but they relish the opportunity to perform community service with our youth. The world has been plagued by the rising costs of goods and services due to inflation, but the City of Hallandale Beach rallies each year ensuring smiles and laughter to those children who are selected to participate in this altruistic program.

A New Year, A New Beginning: Don’t Start Off On The Wrong Foot by Making Excuses
By Bryan Golden
The New Year is a time of resolutions. It’s a time when peo ple commit to making a change in their life. Losing weight, changing jobs, saving money, making money, a new relation ship, getting in shape, going back to school, or giving up smoking, are just some of the goals people set for themselves on January 1st.
Although it’s possible for any one to make a change or a new start, it takes determination, commitment and persistence. A new goal must be your own. You have to really want it. Without a burning desire, your motivation will fade quickly. It’s virtually impossible to make a change due to external pressure.
You may agree to what some one else wants you to do, but it’s very difficult to succeed without an internal drive. So, in order to successfully make a change or reach a goal, you have to make sure it’s what you really want.
Don’t start off on the wrong foot by making excuses as to why you will probably fail. If you don’t truly believe you can do it, you won’t. People who do this will say something like, “I’ll try to do it, but …” Or you may hear, “I

Chanukah (pronounced by some who have a hard time with the ch as Hanukkah or Hanuka), begins this year on the evening of Sunday, December 18th, 2022 and concludes 8 days later on the evening of Monday, December 26th, 2022. It recalls the victory of a militarily weak Jewish people who defeated the Syrian Greeks who had overrun ancient Israel and sought to impose restrictions on the Jewish way of life and prohibit religious freedom. They also desecrated and defiled the Temple and the oils prepared for the lighting of the Menorah, which was part of the daily service. Upon recapturing the Temple only one jar of undefiled oil was found, enough to burn only one day, but it lasted miraculously for eight. In commemoration, Jews celebrate Chanukah for eight days by lighting an eightbranched candelabrum known as a Menorah. Today, people of all faiths consider the holiday a symbol and message of the tri-
tried before and it didn’t work but I’ll give it another go.” Before you begin, make sure the only things you are telling yourself are, “I can,” “I will” and “I will do whatever it takes.”
A new beginning is a threestep process. You have to first know what you want, formulate a plan to achieve it and then take
umph of freedom over oppression, of spirit over matter, of light over darkness. Additional information about the holiday is available at: ChabadChayil.org/ Holidays
This year’s Menorah Lighting is done with the recognition of the crucial need for a message of hope during a time that is so difficult for so many. The Menorah serves as a symbol of light and hope for us today amidst the economic and geopolitical challenges felt throughout the world, as it did for generations before us. The flames of the Menorah shine out into the night, reminding us that even when confronted with much darkness, a tiny light can dispel it all. An additional act of goodness and kindness, another act of light, can make all the difference.
Uniquely, at the core of Chanukah’s observance is sharing the light with others who may not be experiencing it. Celebrations and Chanukah events of all sorts will be taking place in nearly every city of Florida, mostly organized by local Chabads. Locally we will have a free family-friendly event on
the necessary action to get it. Setting a specific goal is essential. The more detailed the better. If you want to lose weight, how much and by when? If you want a new job, what will it be and how much will it pay? If you want to save money, how much and how often?
Next, you need a plan. Just
Sunday, December 18th, 2022 beginning at 3:00 p.m. with an Obstacle Course, Laser Tag, Bounce House, Pony Rides, a Family Train and other fun activities, followed by the Menorah Lighting, warm words from our politicians and a special holiday show at 5:00 p.m.. There will also be a food court, holiday boutique, with music and lots of surprises throughout the day. As a family man who is deeply involved in the community, I must say that there is no better way to spend that Sunday. Adults and children alike, are welcomed to join the many dignitaries and community leaders for an enjoyable and a meaningfully fun time for everyone.
To ensure everyone is safe, the day’s events will all take place outdoors, with enough room for participants to be socially distanced. The event will also be broadcasted live via: JewishFlorida.news so that anyone who can’t make it to the actual event, can still share in the celebration from the safety of their home.
This year, Chabad-organized Menorah Parades will see over
like your goal, your plan must be as detailed as possible. If you are going to lose weight, what will be on your menu each week? Are you going to go on a specific diet, cut out certain foods, or just eat less? For finding a new job, what will be your strategy? Do you need a new resume? Will you look on line, in the clas-
7,000 Chanukah Menorahtopped cars hit the road, bringing the Chanukah message of hope and joy through the city and into residential neighborhoods, allowing families to safely share the joy and light of Chanukah with pride. Chabad centers worldwide have prepared over 32 million Chanukah Candles, more than 700,000 Menorah Kits and 2.5 million holiday guides in 17 languages.
Throughout the State of Florida, Chabad will be organizing scores of giant menorah displays of all sorts, including a grand celebration with the Miami Heat on Tuesday, December 20th, 2022 a huge concert at Hard Rock and scores of others.
To find a local event here in Florida, or anywhere throughout the world, visit Chabad’s international Chanukah Event Directory at: ChabadChayil.org/ Chanukah or a Local Directory at: JewishFlorida.news/events.
Large display Menorahs are available at many online sources and can still get to you in time for the holiday. If you need a Menorah or Candles for yourself, or need any help celebrating the
sifieds, use an employment agency, network, cold call, or all of these? If you want to save more money, in what areas will you cut back? Do you know where your money is going? Have you created a budget?
You want your plan to be doable. The smaller the steps are, the more likely you will be to succeed. Any time you feel a step is too big, break it down further. It doesn’t matter how small each step is so long as you keep going and never give up.
Losing 20 pounds may feel overwhelming, but dropping two pounds a month doesn’t seem too bad. If you keep at it for 10 months, you will reach your goal. Saving $3000 might appear beyond reach, but cutting back $9 a day on family spending is manageable.
Finally, you must take action. The best goals and greatest plans will go nowhere without action. The reason you divided your plan into small sections is so it would be easy to take action, one day at a time.

Raise the Minimum Teacher Salary to $60,000
Last week, Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson (FL-24 District), Chair of the Higher Education and Workforce Investment Subcommittee, introduced the American Teacher Act to incen tivize states to increase the mini mum K-12 teacher salary to $60,000 and provide adjust ments for inflation. This financial incentive supports ongoing state efforts to provide competitive wages for teachers and address the national teacher shortage.
“Teachers deserve a raise. Our nation’s teachers have been underpaid, overworked and deprived of resources for too long. That’s why I’m filing the American Teacher Act today, to give our nation’s teachers the raise they have earned and deserve,” said Congresswoman Wilson. “Teachers are the back bone of our education system and economy, playing a foun dational role in the development of our children. For seven hours a day, they help shape and inspire young minds as well as nurture students academically and socially. As the COVID-19 Pandemic brought the world to a standstill, teachers continued to play a critical role in our recovery, underscoring their indispensability. I am proud to introduce the American Teacher Act, a critical first step in the fight to support a livable, competitive wage for America’s educators.”
Teacher shortages are among the most pressing threats to education access today, with districts across the country forced to radically adjust school offerings to respond to turnover and prolonged vacancies. Every day, stories surface of schools shortening their weeks, canceling courses, increasing studentteacher ratios and placing underprepared or temporary substitute staff in core instructional roles. Such adjustments disrupt learning, take a sustained toll on teacher morale and harm student achievement. In August, the White House issued a fact sheet renewing attention to the weak teacher pipeline and calling upon legislators to use federal, state, and local resources to strengthen teaching career pathways and ensure competitive, livable wages.
“While teachers have never
received the wages and respect commensurate with the work they do to help all children reach their promise and potential, the culture wars and stagnant wages of the last few years have made this worse. Recruiting and retaining a diverse teaching force has become increasingly difficult— indeed, most parents say they wouldn’t want their kids choosing teaching as a career,” said Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers. “Rep. Frederica Wilson’s bill, the American Teacher Act, addresses these challenges directly by providing states with federal funding to incentivize school districts to create a minimum starting salary of $60,000 for teachers. It also funds a national campaign highlighting the value of the teaching profession and encouraging young people to become teachers, using many of the recommendations in the AFT’s Teacher and School Staff Shortage Task Force report “Here Today, Gone Tomorrow?” for recruiting the best candidates into teaching, including increasing compensation. This bill says put your money where your mouth is. We thank Rep. Wilson for her bold
legislation addressing the low starting salaries that have plagued the teaching profession for generations, and we are proud to support this legislation.”
“Students of every color, background and ZIP code deserve qualified and caring educators dedicated to connecting with them and given the resources to nurture their passions and potential. The COVID19 Pandemic further exacerbated the educator staffing crisis that had been brewing for more than a decade,” commented Becky Pringle, President of the National Education Association. “Fueled by insufficient teacher salaries and chronic underfunding of our public schools, our leaders need to immediately adopt solutions to the educator shortage, including treating educators with the respect and competitive compensation these dedicated professionals deserve. The American Teacher Act is an encouraging step forward, and NEA applauds Congresswoman Frederica Wilson for introducing legislation to enact long-term solutions to this longstanding, systemic issue.”
“Teachers are vital to our democracy and economy
because we need them to maximize all young people’s potential. We must take advantage of this moment—with the devastating learning loss and enormous and historic teacher shortages—to pay teachers what they are worth to us, to young people and our shared future,” said Ninive Calegari, Co-Founder of The Teacher Salary Project. “Imagine what would happen if teaching were the sustainable and prestigious profession it deserves to be.”
Failing to invest in our teachers properly perpetuates shortages by devaluing the profession and diverting current and prospective educators. Currently, the Economic Policy Institute reports an enduring pay penalty for teachers, meaning that those in the profession earn lower weekly wages and receive lower overall compensation for their work than their similarly collegeeducated peers. This penalty reached a record high of 23.5% for public school teaching in 2021, making it increasingly difficult for our nation to recruit, train and maintain qualified educators. These concerns are even more significant among teachers of color.
• Award grants for the purpose of enacting and enforcing legislation to establish a statewide teacher salary requirement of $60,000 minimum, with 15% allocated to states and 85% to local educational agencies;
• Include a cost-of-living adjustment to ensure that minimum teacher salary keeps pace with inflation;
• Include a maintenance-of-effort provision to ensure states and districts do not replace currently committed allocations with federal government fund-
• Include a part-time teacher provision that adjusts required minimum salary proportional to workload (e.g., a 60% FTE teacher would have a minimum salary of $36,000);
• Include a provision that existing salary schedules or structures (i.e., the number of steps and lanes) remain as is with additional qualifications accruing the same salary increases as before, with step 1 as $60,000 and further steps adjusted accordingly.
• Provide a funding device that supports states and districts in closing the gap between current starting salaries and the $60,000 minimum over the course of 4 years.
• Prioritize local educational agencies qualifying as low or moderate-income.
• Invest in a national campaign to expand awareness of the value of teaching and encourage secondary and college students to consider teaching as a career;
• Support state efforts to ensure competitive wages for teachers
Grantees would be required to establish a statewide teacher salary schedule or otherwise with a minimum threshold of $60,000 and annual increases congruent with the inflation rate. This financial incentive supports ongoing state efforts to ensure competitive wages for teachers.
The Holiday Season: “The Most Wonderful Time of The Year,” For Some
By Ralph (Gene) E. Cash, Ph.D., ABPP
The holiday season is here, and for most people, like the song says, it’s “the most wonderful time of the year.” However, for some, holidays can be especially difficult, particularly for those who have suffered a recent loss or who cannot seem to shake the grief related to losses that occurred a while ago. The fact that those who are grieving are around so many people who seem to be happy and having a good time can exacerbate negative feelings in those who have suffered or are anticipating a loss. It is important to remember that losses do not have to involve the death of a person in order to be very painful. Loss of a job, a home, a friendship, skills, or the capacity for intimacy can also be devastating. It is not possible to know all the battles others are fighting on a daily basis, and there’s no time like holidays for this to resonate so clearly.
Here are some important points to keep in mind this time of the year (not necessarily in the order of importance in any given situation):
• Grief and grieving are very personal and individualistic. Try hard not to be judgmental about how someone is expressing his/her grief.
• The first priority for anyone expressing profound grief is to keep them safe! Do not hesitate to ask about self-harm and suicidality. You won’t put ideas in their heads, and you may save a life. If suicidality seems at all to be an issue, provide the national suicide prevention hotline (988) and/or refer them to a mental health professional.
• Express concern for the person who is grieving and ask if they are willing to talk about their grief, but don’t say, “I know just how you feel!” It is very unlikely that you do, and it often seems to diminish the importance of their feelings and their grief.
• Holiday traditions are important. Encourage the grieving person to be involved in keeping those traditions without attempting to force them or to demand that they participate. Doing normal things can help a person feel more normal, even if it doesn’t seem that way at first.
• If someone is terminal and has limited time, talk to them, and let them talk, if they will. Visit them. Don’t avoid them or their condition, even if it feels awkward or scary to engage with them. If you are friends, that friendship should continue.
• Provide the grieving person with opportunities to help others, if at all possible. Helping others often makes one’s life seem more meaningful, engenders a feeling of usefulness, and can mitigate the hurt of one’s own losses.
• Remember that kindness heals. Small acts of kindness can have large benefits for both the one who is kind and
the recipient of the kind act(s). Model and encourage kindness and pay it forward.
• Seek professional help for extended and/or complicated grief, especially if the grief engenders thoughts of suicide.
The holidays can be fun and cause for celebration for some, but they can also be reminders of what has been lost and can
stir feelings of regret and grief for others. If you remember the old adage to be kind to others, that can go a long way in helping friends and loved ones who are struggling at this time of the year to persevere and to make it through.

Holiday Traditions Are Back in Hallandale Beach
Happy Hanukkah! For years our City had always done Menorah lighting. Sadly, the tradition had stopped. After I was reinstated the COVID-19 Pandemic struck the world and no one was gathering in large groups. This coupled with no budgeting of holiday lights really put a damper on the Holiday Spirit around town. Thanks to Vice Mayor Taub, Commissioner Lazarow and the entire commission the tradition has started again.
In addition to placing a Menorah and Manger Scene in front of City Hall last Thursday, on Monday Rabbi Mendy Tennenhaus, Rabbi Miller and others held the lighting of the candles. Along with them were the young students from Chaya Aydel Seminary. This seminary led by Rabbis Yossi Lobovics provides Torah education and many other classes to prepare young women with life skills in Chassedishe. They also prepare them to continue on to college with classes that offer college credit.
It is always wonderful meeting these young ladies that come from around the globe. They stay in dorms around our city. In addition to studies, they do many acts of Tzedakah, giving to many needy residents here in Hallandale Beach. They also go around to visit many other homes and local Chabads to learn about our culture.
The Cantor sings his beautiful blessing over the candles, National Anthem and the Israeli National Anthem. While I could not be there, I was sent pictures and heard it was once again a wonderful event. In this day and age with the sharp rise in Antisemitism it is so important we learn about all religions and support the free practice of them without hatred. As my husband Dr Cooper always says, “Everyone should be able to practice whatever they want but religion should never be a reason or tool to attack another person.” I believe that the super majority of society believes this. Let us join in celebrating with hopes the bright light of the Menorah continues to shine peace and love throughout the year.
A special thank you goes to Vice Mayor Taub for joining with me to provide jelly donuts, a Hanukkah Tradition, and representing our Commission.
Another tradition was held last week at the OB Johnson Field.
Amsterdam Restaurant and Nightclub once again helped to host the after-school holiday show. This year’s Theme was ”International Holidays.” Each class participated with a song, dance, or poem. The school also partners with Dreamer Makers, a non-profit that teaches performing arts. Amsterdam provided toys, bounce houses and food trucks for parents and students to enjoy after the show. They also had a visit from Santa.
For the past few years some residents in the Palms section of our City have been complaining about the opening of the large football field for free play at OB Johnson. The football field there is used by PAL, Hallandale High School and those that want to
rent it out. Residents can enter the OB Johnson office to have staff open the field up to 6 PM or dusk.
The logic of not having it
totally open was twofold. We did not want the field damaged, which would not only cost money but interfere with planned games. The other reason is liabil-
ity. It is one thing for a parent and child to have a catch or kick around the ball but is quite different for coaches to come and do practice without proof of insur-
ance.
After discussing the issue with the City Manager and Parks Director it has been decided not to require kids to request a key. The park, like others, will be open till dusk. There are lights on the field, but we do not want to create an unsafe environment after hours unless there is a planned permitted activity. If coaches want to provide training, they will need to go through PAL or file a permit with proof of insurance to have the park open and lights to be on.
As many are celebrating Hanukkah and preparing for Christmas, I want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season. Please remember to support our local shops and restaurants around town. Also, it is the perfect time to be kind. Kindness and a smile do not cost a dime but can mean the world to those that may be suffering.
Be on the lookout for the Rotary Santa Sled that will be out touring Christmas Eve.
As always, I am available for your questions, concerns, and ideas to help make our City a better place. Please feel free to reach out at my office: (954) 457-1318. On my cell/ text at: (954) 632-5700. Or email me at: jcooper@cohb.org.
Santa And His Sleigh To Ride Through Hallandale Beach

Please come out to greet Santa when you hear the music that accompanies him as he makes his rounds. This is a traditional event occurring annually for over 60 years in our City, founded and continued through the years by the Rotary Club of Hallandale Beach - Aventura.

City of Hollywood Charter Review Committee Members Needed
The City of Hollywood has a Charter Review process established by the City Commission that includes a Charter Review Committee made up of nine members with a representative from each District and two appointed at large. Every six years, a committee is formed to review the City Charter, make recommendations as to whether a provision should be changed, remain the same, be deleted, or new provisions added. Charter amendments would then go before voters. In anticipation of the next vote in 2024, Committee appointments will be made March 2023, dependent upon number of qualified applicants. The committee will meet monthly to form recommendations which will be presented to the City Commission by June 2024.
• Board and Committee meetings may require day or evening attendance. By accepting appointment to a Board or
Committee, you are affirming your ability to attend meetings as scheduled.
• Some positions require City of Hollywood residency. Once received, all application materials become the property of the City of Hollywood. Carefully read the handbook for the opening you are applying for: http:// www.hollywoodfl.org/Document Center/View/13247/03-004-Boardsand-Committees-Book-2022-withnew-logo?bidId=
• The Board and Committee members serve on a voluntary basis. Annual appointments are done at a Commission meeting in May of each year.
A Message From The Mayor For Applicants
Dear Fellow Residents and Volunteers, Thank you for your interest in the City’s Advisory Boards and Committees. The volunteers who serve on these boards contribute to the success
of the City of Hollywood in countless ways both big and small. Prior to being elected Mayor, it was my pleasure to be appointed to one of these boards and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people, gain a better understanding of City government and play a part as a resident and business owner in moving the City of Hollywood forward.
People volunteer for an endless variety of reasons. Some want to gain experience, acquire new skills, expand their network of contacts or simply give back to their community. One thing you almost always hear from people who volunteer is that it “feels good” to help others, promote worthwhile causes or make the community a better place to live. Whatever your interest, the City of Hollywood welcomes you to consider applying to be a part of one of the advisory boards and committees established by
the City Commission. By getting involved, you’ll have a chance to provide new insights and expertise that can help guide the policy-making process.
As someone who grew up in Hollywood and is deeply invested in the community, I want you to know that I am committed to ensuring our City lives up to the vision of its founder, Joseph Young, who wanted to create a “dream city by the sea” for everyone to enjoy. Since its incorporation in 1925, Hollywood has grown into one of the largest cities in Florida and has become a sought after destination for visitors from around the globe. With our diverse and distinctive
neighborhoods, our historic beach Broadwalk, a vibrant downtown with numerous cultural attractions and year-round special events, Hollywood offers a hometown vibe in the heart of South Florida.
I, along with my fellow Commission members, sincerely appreciate your interest in exploring opportunities to put your talent and skills to work for the betterment of the City. We believe the ideas and energy our residents bring to bear on topics that impact their lives results in better government and better public policy.
Sincerely, Josh Levy - Mayor of Hollywood
If you are interested in serving on the Charter Review Committee, please apply online by going to the Boards and Committees page of the City’s website, http://www.hollywoodfl.org/155/Boards-Committees. Deadline to submit application is Thursday, February 2, 2023. For more information, please contact Patricia A. Cerny, City Clerk, at 954.921.3211 or pcerny@hollywoodfl.org

For emergency services call 954-280-6950, technicians will arrive within the hour to begin the process of helping you get your life back. With services such as emergency packing and storing of salvageable belongings, following fire or flood, and standing water removal also available, they handle it all for you from AZ. The cost is most often fully covered by your homeowner’s insurance, leaving you with no worries about chasing down reimbursements from the insurance company. Face it, you have enough worries, this doesn’t need to be one of them. Titan Restoration Inc. works with all Florida homeowners’ insurance companies.
To assess the situation Titan Restoration Inc. offers state-ofthe-art leak detection, using infra-red cameras. This allows for non-invasive, non-messy leak detection. No need to tear up dry wall or floors just to find the source of the leak. Once the leaks have been found, you will be referred to a trusted, licensed plumber.
After the repairs’, State-ofthe-art specialized equipment is used to detect moisture levels in the air, dehumidifiers are placed in the affected area, and a Florida-licensed Mold Inspector will be sent to do a mold inspec tion. Samples will be taken of the air and mold. The specimens will be sent to their private laboratory for testing. This will determine which type of mold they are deal ing with. Some molds are more toxic than others such as black mold, knowing the type, allows for proper precautions to be taken to ensure effective treat ment and removal of the mold. Depending on the severity of the damages, drywall and flooring may need to be replaced to effectively rid your home or busi ness of mold. Titan Restoration Inc. is a full remodeling and res toration company, specializing in kitchen and bath remodels, as well as a wide variety of other services. Throughout this process, Titan Restoration Inc. will be working with your insurance company every step of the way.
You should never attempt to remove mold without a licensed professional, it is unsafe, and hazardous to your health. Mold thrives in dark, damp environments such as under the kitchen or bathroom sinks, in unventilated basements, and closed in laundry rooms. It can even be found behind drywall. Because of the heat and humidity which Florida is known for, it provides a perfect environment for mold to thrive. Vigilance is key when it comes to mold remediation. Bleach and paint alone will not eliminate the problem, only hide it, allowing it to grow unseen and spread. This causes more damage to your home and health over time. People and pets all respond differently to mold and mildew. For some, it may be watery eyes, itchy throat, cough, or skin irritation. Confusion, disorientation, and even hallucinations can also be signs of mold exposure. For others, exposure to mold can cause very serious, even life-threatening health problems. When it comes to your health and the safety of your loved ones, trust the experts at Titan Restoration Inc. to have you breathing easier, in a mold-free environment.
Once the mold has been identified, the mold remediation process begins. Titan Restoration Inc. will dry out the affected area
using fans and dehumidifiers. Followed by thoroughly cleansing and sanitizing the affected areas using antimicrobial agents effective for mold-eliminating and prevention. HEPA- air purifiers are used to capture any airborne mold spores, leaving you with clean air. Green cleaners are used for mildew removal. Since mold spores are airborne and invisible to the naked eye it is necessary to deep clean the air ducts, carpets, furnishings, and
upholstery. Homeowners’ insurance covers the cost in most cases following water damage. These services are offered yearround, and it is recommended to have these done once a year to remove allergens, bacteria, dirt, and grime buildup that occurs naturally over time. These services are recommended more frequently if you have pets, suffer from allergies, or are a smoker, to ensure peace of mind and healthier living. After the repairs
are completed and your home or business is restored to its preloss condition, a Florida statelicensed Mold Inspector will be sent out to do a final inspection, to ensure all mold concerns were effectively eliminated. Titan Restoration Inc. takes pride in providing the best service experience to its customers from start to finish. Their goal is to have your property back to its pre-loss condition while taking the stress off you.
Titan Restoration Inc. is a customer-friendly company that also specializes in kitchen and bathroom remodeling from drywall and baseboards to cabinetry and flooring. It is not necessary to have damage to your home, to call on Titan Restoration Inc. for all your remodeling needs.
For a free estimate call: 954-280-6950, now offering 10% off a $350 service for out-of-pocket customers.

served year after year at your family’s holiday gatherings may bring comfort and a sense of nostalgia, but you can open your loved ones up to a whole new world by incorporating recipes from around the globe.
People of all different cultures across the Earth are often connected by food, whether it’s a classic holiday dish or a unique take on a traditional dish, like this raisin-infused Challah. While the dishes themselves may drastically differ, using similar ingredients can be a unifying thread.
For those looking to pull off worldly cuisines this holiday season, consider a familiar and nearly universal ingredient like raisins, an innovative and delicious addition incorporated in culturally diverse dishes. On top of their versatile flavor, Sun-Maid Raisins offer a better-for-you whole fruit option with no added sugar per 1/4-cup serving.
Consider these global recipe ideas enjoyed at holiday gatherings around the world.

Crown Raisin Challah
Yield: 3 loaves
Dough:
• 2 Envelopes (1/4 ounce each) Active Dry Yeast
• 1/2 Cup of Sugar
• 1/4 Cup of Honey
• 3 Cups of Warm Water
• 2 Teaspoons of Cinnamon
• 1/3 Cup of Olive Oil
• 2 Extra-Large Eggs, plus 3 Egg Yolks
• 2 Tablespoons of Kosher Salt
• 1 Cup of Sun-Maid Raisins • 3 Cups of Bread Flour
• 6 1/2 Cups of All-Purpose Flour
Egg Wash: • 2 Extra-Large Eggs • 2 Tablespoons of Sugar
To make dough: In a big bowl, mix Yeast, Sugar, Honey and Warm Water. Let yeast bloom for about 7 minutes. Add Cinnamon, Oil, Eggs, Egg Yolks and Salt. Mix well. Add the Raisins. Add the Flour and mix it until it is sticky. The Dough should be a creamy yellow. Turn Dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 12-15 minutes, or until it is smooth. Oil the bowl, place the dough back in the bowl and cover it tight with plastic wrap. Let it
rise in a warm place for about 1 1/2 hours, or until doubled. Punch the Dough down, cover it and let it rise for another 45 minutes. Punch down again and cut it into three equal pieces. Let rest about 10 minutes then roll each piece into snakes about 30 inches long; taper at one end. Starting with a thick end, roll each snake into a spiral shape like a snail shell. Use a little water and stick a tapered end onto the body of the spiral. Mold into place with hands. Oil loaves lightly, cover with plastic wrap and let rise until poofy, about 25 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375 F. To make Egg Wash: In a small bowl, whisk the Eggs and the Sugar. Gently brush the loaves with the Egg Wash, taking care not to deflate them. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the loaves are golden. Let cool completely.
