Dua Lipa, the London-born singing sensation has just been granted Albanian citizenship.
The stars Kosovan-Albanian parents moved to London 3 years before she was born.
In 2016 the singer and her father co-founded the Surrey Hill Foundation to raise money for the disadvantaged people of Albania.
This altruistic endeavour combined with her global music career compelled Albanian president Barjam Begaj to grant what Dua tweeted as an ‘honour.’ The family settled in
a break from their twoyear relationship.
The couple who started dating on the set of her film ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ have called it a “very amicable decision” to split after different priorities kept them apart. Styles has a tour and Wilde is taking care of the two kids she shares with her ex-husband Jason Sudeikis, Oscar aged 8 and Daisy aged 6. Although rumour has it that Wilde is a lot more upset about the situation than Styles as according to insiders she really thought it was going to work, despite the 10-year age gap. Wilde is 38, Styles is 28.
Camden and encouraged Lipa to embrace her roots with Albanian remaining her first language. After leaving primary school aged 11 - her parents returned to Albania. Dua found it hard to settle but states it was worthwhile. At 16 she returned to England to pursue her music career.
Dua finishes her world tour in Tirana, the Albanian capital for what is her final show on her Future Nostalgia Tour. It’s heart-warming to see such a high-profile performer support those in need.
Styles has been seen out with his ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ co-star Florence Pugh and also chatting to past flame Kendall Jenner, who has also recently split from her long-term partner, NBA player Devin Booker. All this added fuel to the fire that a potential third party could be involved in the split. Time will tell! Styles never normally stays single for long!
Comedian Joe Lycett has trashed David Beckham and woodchipped £10,000 he was going to donate to charity if David Beckham did not take up the Qatar offer to become an ambassador of the Fifa World Cup, in a deal worth a reported £10 million.
With Qatar’s notoriously poor human rights record, treatment of women, gays and
immigrant workers, the football icon’s integrity has been called into question by accepting the deal. Lycett’s You Tube video has now reached an impressive 3.7 million views.
With so many players like Marcus Rashford using their status to support the disadvantaged it is a shame David Beckham has “let his fans and supporters down” by cashing in on this deal.
Just prior to the World Cup, Beckham checked out of his luxury hotel in Doha after fans found out where he was staying, fearing any recriminations from his latest sponsorship deal.
Sadly in TV land ‘A Place in the Sun’ presenter Jonnie Irwin has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and has been given months to live.
Channel 4 axed the 48-year-old star last year because they claimed they couldn’t pay his insurance premiums to travel abroad and present the show. Instead they moved him to the UK live show and ‘Escape to the Country’ leaving him out of pocket.
“I felt massively aggrieved. That hurt. That broke my heart,” he said, “I can’t even watch the show now.”
Jonnie realised he had cancer in 2020 and that it was terminal after spreading to the brain. He has three children with wife Jess: a three-year-old son called Rex and two-year-old twins, Rafa and Cormac. He admits he is devastated that he won’t watch his children grow up and has also urged people to get life insurance, which he decided to do when his twins were born. “That has helped so much and when I leave this planet, I’ll do so knowing Jess and the boys are in a house that is fully paid off and there’s a bit of money in the bank for them to live off.”
Channel 4 said, “Jonnie has been a hugely important part of the ‘A Place in the Sun’ family for over 18 years and we were all deeply saddened by his diagnosis. No stone was left unturned in him continuing filming with us during Covid.”
The lyrics of the new song read: “Oh, you’re slurrin’ all your words, there’s make-up on my shirt, You’re dancin’ on the tables, can’t you see, That you look like a mess and you’re singin’ Whitney? Oh, I hate you, hate you, I hate you, hate you when you’re drunk. Why am I the only one that doesn’t laugh?”
Murs has defended his new single, from his album ‘Marry Me’ which came out on November 25th, saying:
“I thought it was a fun song to write as there have been so many times where a friend, family member or loved one has had one too many,” he said. “It’s a light-hearted take from the sober person’s point of view. We all know someone!”
Britney Spears, 40, is back in the news again this month for all the wrong reasons. She snapped two full frontal nude pics of herself lying in the bath.
In the racy snaps, she has her hands over her chest and a tiny pink flower covering her modesty. This coupled with her Instagram account vanishing, has worried fans that she may not be coping well with her new-found freedom. It was only last year the 13-year conservatorship that had been hanging over Britney was finally lifted by the LA Courts. Prior to this her father Jamie had controlled every aspect of Britney’s life.
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of James Bond, Omega has made a new Seamaster diver that mechanically animates the iconic ‘gun barrel’ opening sequence of the film.
Omega first featured in ‘Goldeneye’ in 1995 and has since been the provider of supplying 007 with his gadget-laden timepieces in the Bond franchise.
So here you have it, the all new 42mm ‘Seamaster Diver 300m - 60 Years of James Bond Stainless Steel’ is priced at £7,100 and is inspired by the first Omega that Pierce Brosnan wore in ‘Goldeneye’, though now with a mesh bracelet. ‘The Seamaster Diver 300m - 60 Years of James Bond Canopus Gold’ is by far the more exclusive timepiece priced at a whopping £137,300, or $165,200), made in Omega’s white gold alloy with a dial made from natural grey silicon and a bezel circled with green and yellow diamonds, combined to evoke James Bond creator, Ian Fleming’s Jamaican home, according to the luxury watchmaker.
See www.omega.com to get your hands on one of these limited-edition timepieces.
For those nights out when a paracetamol just won´t cut it… Surrey Rocks has come across a new hangover cure that actually works! Sober Up is a dietary supplement containing 14 natural herbal ingredients that are clinically proven to fortify the liver and speed up the reduction of alcohol content in the blood.
While testers here at the magazine said it definitely helped out with hangovers with one reviewer saying, “it really took the edge off when I woke up in the morning” and “I really noticed the difference after taking Sober Up and the hangover shakes went completely” be warned it doesn´t completely eradicate hangovers. So, if you are interested in testing the shot drink remember it can help the dreaded day after - but it can´t perform miracles after umpteen tequilas.
Another added bonus of Sober Up is it contains all-natural ingredients and no caffeine so when the nourishing vitamins get to work in 30 minutes after consumption, you know it is not just caffeine getting you going again.
If that doesn´t convince you there’s a new scientifically supported hangover cure coming from a bunch of Aussie scientists at Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation. Korean pear juice, which has been proven to help by speeding up your ‘alcohol metabolism’, making it easier to consume more. Scientists advise drinking 220ml of Korean pear juice before a night out for a significantly lessened hangover the next day.
The best way to stop a hangover in its tracks is water. By drinking lots of water before you go to bed (if you can – equal to the amount of alcohol you consumed) as dehydration is the main cause of hangovers.

Tis the season to glam up, look fabulous and feel great. Yes its that time of year when shimmer and shine are calling and party outfit planning is on the agenda. Christmas fashion is one of our most exciting sartorial categories and this season there really is no such thing as too much bling! What better opportunity to wear the most luxe velvets, sequins and embellishments. If you already have the perfect LBD why not dial up the drama and give it the Midas touch with some statement shoes, bags, belts and jewellery.
This beautiful red velvet catsuit from Nancy Mac is available from fashion and homeware emporium Lolapalooza in Ripley. It will be a sure fired hit this festive season and can be dressed up or down whatever the occasion. And the good news, it comes in a range of colourways including green, blue, red and gold. This stunning, sustainable number is direct from Brazil and is a perfect mix of sexy and cool for those Christmas events and parties. Pop into their Weybridge store or buy online from www. alamandafashion. co.uk.
Gleaming silver accents also work brilliantly as does pearlescent white. A good velvet jumpsuit, provided it’s made of the real not-overly-stretchy velvet variety, is a super flattering sartorial holein-one. Chic and elegant, the jumpsuit isn’t just for Christmas parties, dress it up with strappy heels and switch to chunky boots for a post turkey stroll. If you prefer something less glittery, then blazer dresses and colour block suits are a great option, allowing you to dazzle without a sequin in sight. There are plenty of Christmas
slogan tops and jumpers which will have you looking fabulously festive too. Simply pair with your favourite skirt or trousers whether your driving home for Christmas or rocking around that Christmas tree! Yes, the joy of festive dressing is that you can wear exactly what you want but let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle for the silly season!
Pining for summer? This simply seasoned chicken fried with beautiful, ripe cherry tomatoes in a creamy sauce is guaranteed to hit the spot. Add a dollop of pesto for an extra layer of nutty flavours. Quick and easy to make - taking only 25 minutes.
(Serves 4)
1 tbsp olive oil
4 boneless chicken breasts 200g pack of cherry tomatoes
3 tbsp of crème fraiche 3 tbsp of pesto (if required)
Fresh basil
Salt and pepper
Rice & salad Broccoli & mash
METHOD
Heat the oil in a frying pan, preferably non-stick. Add the chicken and fry without moving it until it takes on a bit of colour. Turn the chicken and cook on the other side.
Continue cooking for 12-15 minutes until the chicken is cooked through. Season all over with a little salt and pepper.
Halve the tomatoes and throw them into the pan, stirring them around for a couple of minutes until
they start to soften.
Reduce the heat and stir in the pesto and crème fraîche until it makes a sauce. Scatter with a few basil leaves if you have them.
Then serve with either rice and salad or mash and broccoli.
Chicken can be served so many different ways you might wonder which type of wine makes the best pairing. The truth is there’s no single answer - it depends on your own personal taste and the way it’s cooked - but here’s a simple guide.
Given that chicken is a light meat, it won’t surprise you to learn that white wine is generally a more flexible match with smooth dry whites like chardonnay happily partnering a great many chicken dish. However, for a cherry tomato laden sauce like this month’s recipe, you could always try a medium-bodied southern French or Spanish red like a Côtes du Roussillon - or even a robust Merlot would suit.
We’ve been waiting a long time for this first sequel and boy was it worth the wait! Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ tells the story of the Sully family consisting of Jake, Neytiri and their kids and the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive and the tragedies they have to endure.
Set almost all underwater, hence the name, Jake has to return to Pandora and fight the humans with drastic results for his family and people. This is the most beautifully shot film and Sony even made a new camera to capture this epic follow up.
It is the first of four sequels to come from director James Cameron and there are big bucks behind the films, almost $1billion collectively, according to IMDB (The Internet Movie Database).
If you were a fan of the first ‘Avatar’ in 2008 you will LOVE this movie. Thinking about getting into it, well watch the Oscar winning first and get down to your local cinema from December 16th. It is rated 12 so you can watch with older children during the holidays. A cinema ‘big screen’ viewing is highly recommended for this one!
Croydon born Grime artist Stormzy is back with another belter of an album. This is the star’s third studio album and his first with London based record label 0207 Def Jam, run by music industry stalwarts and twin brothers, Alec and Alex Boateng.
It’s been a long time coming too. Stormzy’s previous album ‘Heavy in the Head’ was released back in 2019 to critical acclaim. This 3-year hiatus has seen Stormzy back in the studio for an intense music camp to make ‘This Is What I Mean.’
Stormzy said of the experience, “When you hear about music camps, they always sound intense and sombre. People saying, ‘We need to make an album.’ ‘We need to make some hit records.’ But this felt beautifully free. We’re all musicians, but we weren’t always doing music. Some days we played football or walked around taking pictures. And the byproduct to that was very beautiful music. Because when you marry that ethos with world-class musicians and the best producers, writers, and artists in the world, and we’re in one space, that’s a recipe for something that no one can really imagine. You can’t even calculate what that’s going to come up with. And it came up with a big chunk of this album.”
The lead album track arrives on the heels of his big comeback track, ‘Mel Made Me Do It’. The song itself comes in at just over seven minutes, while the even longer music video features brilliant cameos from runner Usain Bolt, documentarian Louis Theroux and footballing icon, José Mourinho.
Best-selling author Maureen Johnson is back with a new, intriguing and quirky murder mystery book, this time it’s all set in England.
Senior year at Ellingham Academy for lead character Stevie Bell isn’t going well. Her boyfriend, David, is studying in London. Her friends are obsessed with college applications. With the cold case of the century solved, Stevie is adrift. There is nothing to distract her from the questions pinging around her brain - questions about college, love and life in general.
Relief comes when David invites Stevie and her friends to join him for study abroad, and his new friend Izzy introduces her to a double-murder cold case. In 1995, nine friends from Cambridge University went to a country house and played a drunken game of hide-and-seek. Two were found in the woodshed the next day, murdered with an axe.
The case was assumed to be a burglary gone wrong, but one of the remaining seven saw something she can’t explain. This was no breakin. Someone’s lying about what happened in the woodshed.
Seven suspects. Two murders. One killer still playing a deadly game.
This is a thrilling, can’t put down page-turner of a book and as it’s all set in the nineties, fun looking back at the nostalgic references of the time.

Californian Katy Perry is not one to shy away from public feuds either, everyone is aware of her ongoing battle with Taylor Swift! The former friends have constantly been shaming each other on social media with Katy following the account ‘Slutty Taylor Swift’ on Instagram and Taylor apparently wrote Bad Blood in dedication of Perry herself. The spat began after Katy allegedly stole some of Taylor’s dancers, she felt betrayed by the dancers but it was allegedly reported the dancers were Katy Perry’s beforehand.
The alliances against Perry have not stopped her winning as she is still holding her
head high and is releasing more music. Katy’s last single ‘When I’m Gone’ with Swedish DJ Alesso was the dance music hit of the Summer and her last
album ‘Smile’ in 2020 made it into The Top 10 in 20 countries.
Her most popular album ‘This Is How We Do’ went
platinum in 4 countries and sold over 11,000,000 copies in the United States alone. Her ‘Prismatic World Tour’ included 6 legs from Europe to Latin America performing hits from her fourth studio album Prism, the tour was the second highest-grossing and highest grossing led by a female in North America.
Katy stated at the time that the album would be darker than the rest as it was the first record she released following her public divorce with Russell Brand, it served fans with singles ‘Roar’ which was nominated for Grammy Awards and ‘Unconditionally’ which charted successfully worldwide.
Katy is well known for her wild and colourful music videos, she likes to reflect the personality of the songs and her emotions through fancy dress and storytelling from the Egyptian theme in ‘Dark Horse’ and a confused nerd in ‘TGIF’.
Katy, like many female pop queens, has had an array of men falling at her feet. She had an unlikely two-year marriage with Brit comedian Russell Brand, which seemed at the time like a match made in heaven. The spilt in 2011 came as a shock as he asked her to file for divorce...through text message (oh dear!) and they have not exchanged many words since then.
Luckily for Katy she seems entirely happy and content with her new beau Brit actor Orlando Bloom, whom she met in 2016 while fighting over a
burger! The much-loved couple have been one of the true Hollywood couples many aspire too. Who could forget the naked paddle boarding they both did when they got together!?
Katy has revealed the secret to her relationship with Orlando. “He is the kindest soul. He is the kindest man I’ve ever met,” she gushed during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “He shows up and he’s such an encouragement spiritually, emotionally and physically. I do not care to work out and he’s like, ‘Let’s go work out! Let’s go do hot yoga!’ That’s kind of our love language is all things spiritual and working out.”
The couple have a two-year-old daughter called Daisy Dove Bloom and have indicated another sibling is on the cards. Orlando also has a 12-year-old son called Flynn from his 3-year marriage to Miranda Kerr.
Aside from her passion of music, Katy has a natural flare for fashion whether she is trending neon hair or boho glamour, she is always ahead of the game. If you take a look at her fashion from red carpet awards to a casual day in LA she likes to stand out from the crowd. The plans for Ms Perry’s future have no signs of stopping. With a mass of success under her belt, fans can expect Katy to continue to surprise us with her impressive list of talents.
Katy’s rise to fame has not been easy with 3 failed recording contracts before she was picked up by Capitol Records
Katy is a gay rights activist and dedicated the music video ‘Firework’ to the ‘It Gets Better Project’
Katy was a backing vocalist for P.O.D. in 2006 for the single ‘Goodbye for Now’
Katy Perry was the seventh most searched artist on Ticketmaster

Hair Extensions are more popular than ever and in today’s society and most people wouldn’t necessarily notice that those around them might just have hair extensions. Hair Extensions are best suited for people who want to add thickness and length to their natural hair or those who want a change without effecting their natural hair. At kbhairextensions we see a variety of women and men of all ages who want to change their appearance with the use of hair extensions, this can be done by simply adding different coloured hair without dying their natural hair or adding hair extensions to help enhance their natural hair by adding thickness or extra length.
Are we ever truly happy with our hair? The most common answer to that question is no and the solution? Get hair extensions! Extensions are no longer seen as an accessory and instead are now used to help change the wearers life. Here at kbhairextensions we supply and fit hair extensions to not only help people to change their hair, but we help people with their confidence too. You could have naturally fine hair and add a few extensions for volume or you can have naturally thick hair that never grows and add extensions for a longer length. We are a firm believer in ‘When your hair looks good, you feel good.’
(kbhairextensions client) Jennifer Lopez, Megan Fox, Rita Ora. And believe it or not ‘TOWIE’ star Tom Pearce is a fan!
If you have ever thought about growing your hair it can be a very long process, and often most people won’t wait around for this. However, wearing hair extensions can change this. Clip-in hair extensions are a great quick fix and can be used to add length, volume and colour in minutes. You can switch up your style without committing to a permanent change. Our clip-in hair range was awarded ‘Best Hair Extensions Brand’ in 2021 and they are loved and worn by celebrities and customers worldwide. You can go from a short bob to 24 inches of hair in an instant and remove just as quick. If you have ever thought about semi-permanent hair extensions, clip-ins are the best way to get a feel for this change without the commitment.
There has always been a taboo about hair extensions damaging your natural hair, however this cannot be further from the truth. Hair Extensions should encourage natural hair growth and here at kbhairextensions our clients are living proof of this. When you wear hair extensions your natural hair tends to gather in between the hair extensions and can be protected from elements such as heat, pollution and more. We often find that clients will look after their extensions with more care compared to their natural hair, this in turn means their natural hair is being looked after and is
given the time to grow. Semi-permanent extensions such as tape, weft and ring extensions stay in your hair for up to a year if cared for correctly and will grow out with your natural hair. A lot of people will think their natural hair doesn’t grow, however when you have semi-permanent hair extensions this is not the case. In fact, our clients wear our hair extensions for up to a year and when the hair has reached its lifespan they no longer want or need hair extensions as their natural hair has grown. It’s a win win.
In the last three years KB Hair Extensions has won 15 awards and been featured on television shows such as Netflix Series ‘Selling Sunset’ and interviews live on BBC Radio. Owner Kerry-Ann Buckell has been awarded titles such as ‘Extension Artist of the Year’ and ‘Hair Extension Specialist of the Year’ and has been passionate about hair extensions since the age of 15. She said, “I like to feel that I am different to most hair extension specialists not because I do it all on my own but because I have gone through what my clients go through. I have tried all methods, had ups and downs with my hair and the experience, knowledge and love I have for hair extensions is shown and shared with people who cross my path. For 8 years now I have produced all my own content, products, photoshoots and that’s all because I love what I do. It would be easy to have help from other companies but why do that when you love a challenge! In the last 2 years alone, I have taken on new challenges in helping women and men with extremely short and complicated hair by applying hair extensions
to change their look. From the outside it might look impossible to do however if you work hard and know what to do it pays off. I’ve helped women of all ages, including women in their late 60’s to women as young as 18 feel better about their hair and themselves and it’s the best feeling to be able to help. I believe that the passion for my work shows in what I do and I would highly recommend anyone thinking about hair extensions get in touch as I would love to help in anyway I can.”

A delicious modern take on a staple of traditional Sicilian cuisine.
Sicily Streats pride themselves on using only the freshest and finest ingredients to create exciting and indulgent Arancini.
In case you are unaware (like Surrey Rocks photographer - who we castigated for not knowing what the food type was!) Arancini is “Italian rice balls that are stuffed, coated with breadcrumbs, deep fried and are a staple of Sicilian cuisine,” according to Wikipedia. You can get Sicily Streats from their dedicated food truck now
available for private hire, weddings and parties, or in Epsom Social (Surrey’s first Food Hall) till the end of the year.
Sicily Streats Arancini is cooked fresh to order, creating a crispy golden coating.
Based on tradition, with their own unique flavours the brand have created a tantalizing, inclusive menu that meets demand for vegetarian and vegan consumers.
All their Arancini is made from scratch. Cooking the Arancini creates a golden, crispy coating which once broken reveals an oozing risotto filling, bursting with fresh flavours. Dependent on which size you choose; cheese heaven awaits with their large burrata stuffed options.
Following years in an office environment, their charismatic owner Epsom-born Dan Parsons, decided his lunch-hour escapes to street food markets across London were the highlight of his days.
The buzz and passion in the markets were infectious and inspired him further to start his own street food business.
In June of 2021 he bought a horsebox and converted it into his new workspace and began selling Arancini, the best Arancini ever tasted. Sicily Streats was born.
We rocked up to Sicily Streats in Epsom Social on a Monday evening and were warmly greeted by Dan and shown the impressive menu and talked through the Specials. We were totally on board with trying their Special Dish of the Day; ‘Slow-Braised Beef Brisket Ragu with Tagliatelle’ and it was simply devine.
You could tell instantly the brisket had been tenderised from hours of slow cooking and melted in the mouth. The Ragu sauce was bursting with flavour and the fresh egg pasta tagliatelle was cooked to perfection. This dish was topped off with fresh parmesan cheese. All in all, a 10 out of 10 dish.
Next up we tried a trio of Arancini perfectly served in a cute cardboard egg box. We went for the ‘Tomato & Basil’, ‘Butternut Squash & Sage’ and ‘Carbonara’ - this is a great meal choice as you get to try the variety of options. You can also select from a 6 Ball Box or a 9 Ball Box - if you are really hungry or in larger groups.
We also had a Wild Mushroom and Burrata Large Arancini. As we tore this in half to share our reviewers pulled the Burrata cheese inside apart at least a whopping 40cm! It was so delicious and the wild mushroom was so tasty.
All of Sicily Streats Arancini come with dips including Nonna’s Pepper Sauce, Garlic Aioli and Pesto Dip, both were great and worked with the flavours of the Arancini. We can’t wait to try the Sicilian Dirty Fries and Steak on our next visit.
With their own unique flavours and inspiring food choices, Sicily Streats have created a tantalizing, inclusive menu that meets demand for all tastes, including both vegetarian and vegan consumers. Pay them a visit, or book for a private hire, you will not be disappointed.
You can now hire Sicily Streats for private parties, weddings or events.
To date they have had successful pitches at Brighton Christmas Festival, Westminster Cathedral Christmas Market, Wimbledon Tennis Screening in Marylebone and a 3 month pop-up residency at Epsom Social. They also recently catered for Eurovision London at the Rio Private Cinema in Shoreditch. Here they catered for 400 people but they can do smaller parties with anything from 20 people.
If you need catering for a private event / party / wedding or anything else, get in touch and they’ll work with you to create a menu that you can be proud to serve to your guests. Although their Arancini is fried it is slightly more premium than your standard burger and chips and it goes down really well alongside a glass of wine, champagne or a beer.
Christmas is very nearly upon us. If you haven’t booked tickets to Lapland UK, a National Trust lights trail or Winter Wonderland, then where have you been?! The tickets for these things seem to be released earlier and earlier each year and if you haven’t booked by September then you’ve got no chance and probably some very disappointed kids.
I’ve rounded up a selection of Christmassy things to do with the family that you don’t need to book way in advance for.
LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF – I’M RIA, MUM OF TWO, MARRIED TO MY HANDSOME HUBBY.
I’M BORN AND BRED IN MY BELOVED SURREY AND SPEND MOST OF MY TIME BETWEEN HERE AND LONDON.
I’M A HANDBAG AND SHOE ADDICT AND LOVER OF ALL THINGS LUXE.

My number one would be Glide Ice Rink at Battersea Power Station. This is the coolest ice rink in town this year. It’s set against the backdrop of one of London’s most iconic and newly anticipated refurbished buildings. They also have great food options, as well as live entertainment and fantastic shops (if your husband has the patience!).
A short walk away from Battersea is Peggy Porschen in Belgravia where you can go for a cupcake and a cup of tea.
Their red velvet is my favourite. They always do some lovely festive specials too.
Have brunch or lunch at the Ivy Chelsea Garden. You can’t go wrong with the Ivy chain, it’s perfect for all the family. They always have the most impressive facade of Christmas decorations. Other restaurants with a similar vibe are Daphne’s and 34.
One of the most Instagrammable store fronts has to be Cartier on Bond Street. Even if you don’t go in, you must stop outside to check out the beautiful display. Grab a coffee at Ralph’s which is right opposite, whilst you soak up the charming Mayfair atmosphere. The kids can have a hot chocolate and you can maybe persuade your partner to take you into Cartier for a browse!
Beaverbrook Hotel will be bringing back their picture perfect ice rink overlooking the Surrey Hills. Tickets can be purchased as a skate and dine option with a delicious meal at one of their three restaurants - always a winner!
There is a wonderful Christmas family trail at Polesden Lacey in Bookham with active challenges and games designed to exercise those Christmas spirits. If it’s raining, fear not, the house has also been decorated with sparkling Christmas splendour where children can wander around and take part in a storybook trail. Just a short walk away is a quaint little coffee shop called Carolina’s in Bookham. They do the best festive hot chocolates including Terry’s chocolate orange and mint, as well as delectable homemade cakes.
Last but not least, the Festive Superhero Trail at Painshill Park, Cobham. The superhero theme is bound to be a big hit with the kids, irrespective of their age. Wander through the historical gardens along the tarmac paths which are buggy friendly. Bikes and scooters are also welcome. My children love going into the grotto and making up enchanted stories. I like to finish off with lunch in a private igloo at Coppa Club. What could be more festive than lunch in an igloo?!
I know it can be a stressful time of year and there is such immense pressure to go here, there and everywhere but sometimes all you need is something simple or small to make beautiful memories with your family!

The decorations are up which can only mean one thing. The festive season has arrived and there’s a level of excitement in the air. I’ve just come back from a month-long solo trip around Thailand and it’s great to see everyone again. This time of year is always special and deserves a special hairstyle for those party nights - and days. Thanks to everyone that came to our Christmas Evening last month. It was lovely to see so many faces and hopefully, the styling tips and goodie bags helped you embrace the festive spirit.
If there was a season and a reason to go big, then this is it. Below are some images from my Glitterbox Collection to inspire you. Together, volume and texture will always make a statement. When drying your hair, use a root lift to get as much height in there as possible. This will help strengthen the foundation of your style. From here, you can tong, curl, crimp or straighten the hair but keeping volume will create impact. If time is not on your side and you’re heading straight out from work, then add on a glitter hairband to get the party started.
1. Volume.
As mentioned above, volume is key when making a statement. My go-to is always Oribe Volumista Spray.
3.
Thanks to BaByliss Pro’s Cordless Curling Tong, desk-to-dance floor hair has never been easier or looked better.
The weather, central heating and too many parties can dry out your hair. Keep frizz at bay by using Goldwell Reconstruct Intensive Repair Mask once a week.
And not just for celebrations.
Champagne blonde is back on top thanks to Sienna Miller’s colour refresh.
Always be prepared for the arrival of a long-lost friend or family member at this time of year.
Don’t get caught short, keep a HARE & BONE gift voucher on hand.
Worst case scenario: you get to use the voucher on yourself!
On 3rd December, our Fitzrovia salon celebrates its anniversary and that marks our 8th year as a brand. It’s been a fast, and sometimes challenging 8 years (looking at you Covid!) but I love every moment of it. When I began to develop HARE & BONE never did I think I would work with and meet so many special people. Thank you to everyone that has played a part in this journey. I’m excited to see where the next 8 years will take us.
The good news keeps coming - especially for students. We know that studying and earning are hard to balance. 1. I’m having real issues with my scalp. It’s dry but also feels lumpy, with a slight itch. I’m not sure if I’ve reacted to something.
If your scalp feels very itchy and lumpy and you think you could have had a reaction, my advice is to seek professional advice from a trichologist. However, if it’s just dry and itchy there are treatments and products that will help to soothe the scalp. A dry scalp can be due to environmental reasons, product build-up and the change of season. To keep your scalp healthy, use an exfoliating product before applying your shampoo. A PH balancing shampoo will help keep your scalp healthy and an SPF is paramount to protect your scalp from UV rays.
You should view your scalp as an extension of your face and treat it with the same respect.
2. I have a bob and always struggle to do anything ‘different’ with it. It’s too short to put a wave in. Any idea for Christmas nights out?
Accessories are big this year and the easiest way to add drama or glamour to any style. You could tuck a section of hair behind one ear and secure three or four different hair pins to create a focal point. There are some really beautiful sets in the shops just now. Alternatively, you could add texture to your hair with the Oribe Texturising Spray, take some loose sections from either side and gather them at the back of your head, securing them with a beaded or branded clasp. The most important rule is not to make it too perfect. Add texture, add an accessory and enjoy yourself.

When we talk about Botox we can often conjure up visions of people looking unnaturally frozen, with extreme eyebrows and shiny wax like faces. There is no doubt that many Aestheticians go overboard. However, with advanced skills, Botox really can be an art form and a fantastic preventative treatment for ageing.
Injection techniques have been fine tuned for natural looking results for both men and women. Botox can grant you eternal youth and it’s no longer at the price of not being able to move your face. Being an expert injector is both a science and an art. You must know the anatomy of the face and understand how all the muscles work. A misplaced injection can cause a droopy eyelid or a wonky smile. However, both done well, can eliminate frown lines and deep forehead wrinkles without erasing your facial expressions.
The key to Botox is to look more awake, fresher, natural and like you’ve not had Botox at all, but people will think you’re looking exceptionally well and younger. In addition to that we can also use Botox to enhance.
When you smile or frown, the lines develop during the expression but generally go away when the face relaxes.
When the lines begin to stay around when your face is at rest is when you should start having Botox. If we start Botox in our mid - late 20s or 30s it can be a preventative measure to avoid getting fine lines and ingrained wrinkles.
However, it works well on people of all ages.
The most common dynamic wrinkles that Botox treats are the lines on the upper face such as the frown lines, horizontal lines on the forehead and the crow’s feet around the eyes. We are often told that Botox is only to treat the upper face, but this is not true. As long as someone is knowledgeable and experienced it can be used in the lower face too with amazing results. It is possible to treat hooded eyes with a Botox brow lift, nose wrinkles & droops, fix downturned or gummy smiles,
slim the face by treating the jaw and even enhance and define lip shape.
Botox contains a purified bacteria that freezes muscles to minimise the appearance of lines and wrinkles caused by facial expressions.
Fillers add fullness / volume or structure to the areas of the face.
This is just another name for very natural Botox involving smaller amounts. I often use this on clients who are actors or models and need a full range of expression.
At this time of year when everyone is so busy organising presents, preparations and work nights out, it can be hard to make time for yourself. Lack of sleep, temperature fluctuations, excess wine,
festive food and cold weather can leave us feeling less than glowy and massively impact our face and bodies. Make sure you are looking radiant this Christmas with our ‘12 days of Christmas’ glow treatments and tips.
Treat yourself to the gift of perfect skin. Profhilo is my personal favourite treatment.
It’s a wonderful skin booster that encourages our own natural collagen production. It tightens the skin and smooths lines whilst hydrating from within. It’s natural looking and doesn’t change your facial structure so it’s suitable for both men and women.
I call it an injectable flawless filter so it’s perfect for getting family photo ready in these cold winter months. Book in with us online for this amazing treatment.
Stay hydrated. Since alcohol is a diuretic it’s crucial that you’re properly hydrating your body and skin if you are drinking more over the festive period. Dehydrated skin
will look dry and flaky with more visible wrinkles and dark circles. Water will also help rid the body of toxins.
ON THE THIRD DAY OF CHRISTMAS
Whether you would like a fuller pout or natural and hydrated with less lines, book in with us for luscious kissable lips and be mistletoe ready.
ON THE FOURTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS
Wear a good SPF every day!
Even when it’s cloudy wearing sunscreen in winter is a crucial part of maintaining your skin health. A good SPF cream or foundation also protects against blue light damage. HEV light is also admitted by phones, televisions (whilst watching Christmas films) and computer screens. I love La Mer radiant skin tint SPF 30.
ON THE FIFTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS
Winter Is the perfect time to have body treatments too. Treatments such as fat dissolving and skin tightening body threads are best done in the winter in case of mild bruising or redness which can last up to a week.
ON THE SIXTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS
Book in with our EQlibrium skin expert for radiant skin with our derma-planning facial. A relaxing deep cleansing facial that removes dead skin cells and vellus hair. The skin is de-clogged, cleansed and radiant. This helps the absorption of your skincare products and enables the flawless application of make-up products.
ON THE SEVENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS
Choose nutrient rich foods and snack sensibly on foods that contain Vitamin C help to protect the skin and support the production of collagen. Vitamin C is an antioxidant too. Leafy greens including brussel sprouts are rich in Vitamin C.
Vitamin E is another essential for healthy skin, protecting it from cell damage whilst promoting new healthy cells. Snack on nuts and seeds that are high in Vitamin E.
ON THE EIGHTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS
Rest - Make time for beauty sleep. Your skin repairs or generates in a deep sleep, so when the party season comes in and you have lots of late nights, your skin won’t have the time to rejuvenate itself naturally. In addition, take some ‘me’ time to unwind and be pampered.
ON
Don’t neglect to cleanse the skin before going to bed. Late nights and festive fun can mean that we really neglect our skincare routine when we need it most. It is never good to go to sleep with a full face of make-up.
ON
Detox your beauty and make-up cabinet and throw anything away that is out of date, old or could be harvesting bacteria. Skincare and beauty products do
have a shelf life. If you haven’t used it in a year after opening it, it is probably ready for the bin.
ON THE 11TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS
Go barefaced. My clients very rarely wear much makeup unless it’s a special occasion. After treatment and when following a good skincare regime, they are more confident in their own skin and glowing. It’s also healthy to allow our skin to breathe as often as is possible. Ditch the make-up and show off your naturally glowing skin.
ON THE 12TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS

Christmas for an interior designer is an absolute dream, it is a perfect excuse to spruce up our homes with glitter and twinkling lights. I even tell my husband the little white lie, that I need to go this over the top as it’s for my business!
But seriously we are in the middle of winter (unless you live somewhere lovely and tropical) and we need this festival ramp-up to lift our moods and add excitement.
Now maybe in previous years you have only concentrated on a Christmas tree, but Christmas is a time for joy and festive happiness. We need more than that solitary Christmas tree standing in the corner. I am here to tell you the five main areas to focus on when decorating your home for Christmas.
Most of us usually have a Christmas Tree in our homes, real or fake, it really doesn’t matter, it’s all about how you decorate it. The lights are hugely important, they are the foundation of your
Now I know what you’re thinking, a second Christmas tree are you nuts! But this does not and should not be the same, elaborate feature that the main Christmas tree is. There can only be one star in the show! However, with most of us living in more than just our living rooms, a second tree just adds to the Christmas spirit.
This tree, however, can be completely different to the main tree. In my home I have a large, real traditional tree in our living room but in our family room I have a faux snow tree, covered in just fairly lights. The branches covered in very convincing snow, creates the winter wonderland feel and is really magical for our girls.
If you are restricted on floor space, then table trees or wall mounted trees are also a gorgeous feature. If you have kids, this second tree can also provide an opportunity for them to have their own tree. I am pretty precious about my main tree but for the other tree, they take charge and hang their favourite, handmade decs.
decor. Please, please, please choose warm white, cool white does what it says and creates a cool light. Christmas is about warmth and coziness, so your lights need to reflect this. Do not skimp on lights, ideally there should be an inner layer and outer layer on each branch to give the tree depth. The colour palette is again a personal choice, for our living room I like to keep it traditional with red and gold. Whatever the scheme, keep it to two or three colours as this creates consistency.
Garlands are a really striking element to add to the tree, large wooden beads to delicate gold beads, all down to your preferred aesthetics.
The next important aspect to the tree decor is scale, a Christmas tree needs a variety of large and small decorations to add interest and wonderment. I start with over large bows, but you could use large baubles or pinecones.
Then add all you favourite, most treasured decorations, not forgetting to hang them at different positions on the branches again to create depth and intrigue.
It makes me very sad when I enter someone’s home in the Christmas season to be presented with a non-festive hallway. The easiest area in your hall to add sparkle and festivities is your staircase. Garlands both real and faux, look beautiful around the banisters and then you can add anything you like. From woodland finds, to glittery baubles, it all looks fabulous interwound up your staircase.
I’m not just talking about decorating your table for the big day, although that is obviously very important but for all the days leading up to Christmas. Now I’m not suggesting that you cover your worktops in baubles and glitter, leaving you no space to cook, but adding a few gorgeous elements still gives you that warm Christmas feel. Beautiful, Christmas plants are a perfect addition to your table or island. There are so much to choose from, from Poinsettias to Christmas roses, allowing you to create a perfect festive vignette. For long tables three plants, interlined with wired fairy lights or candles looks beautiful. For islands and worktops, cluster a few plants together and you add some candles, providing an opportunity to fill your home with a perfect Christmas scent.
As our home is fairly modern, I use a variety of sized pompoms going up my staircase. I use enormous to tiny in three striking Christmas colours and then add the wired (battery powered) fairly lights in between to make them all sparkle.
If you have a large hallway, this maybe the perfect place for your second tree. Alternatively, oversized reindeers and other Christmas statues are so gorgeous for kids. It immediately sets the festive mood when you arrive home. If you like to keep your home traditionally decorated, there is a huge range of rattan Christmas decorations, which look beautiful with twinkling fairy lights.
If you like to entertain over the festive period, then setting up a small hall table for welcoming guests is another perfect area to add some sparkle. When we welcome neighbours to our home, I create a prosecco table with large white ostrich feathers, it’s glamorous and fun!
If you want your home to appeal to your kids, then tall glass jars filled with festive Christmas candy canes and gingerbread also looks magical, although the contents may not last that long! If you want your home to appeal to partying adults, then setting up a festive drinks counter
with gold and glitter accessories, it really adds a wow factor to the festive celebrations!
When we take on a new project, we always remember to look at the spaces from all angles and all heights. It doesn’t matter if you have the most amazing flooring if you’ve left your ceilings completely bare. This is the same with decorating for Christmas, how a home looks from the floor to ceiling is very important. It all comes back to scale and perspective. Hanging Christmas decorations increases the sense of scale
and allows your eyeline to be transported around the entire space. Now you can hang whatever you like, wherever you like. My preference is along a tall patio, sliding or folding doors. When most of us extend or renovate our homes, we often add large expanses of glass to bring in the light and connect us to our gardens and nature. This provides a brilliant opportunity at Christmas to use them in our decorating schemes.
Alternatively, a large wall also works well. For this rustic wall we added fairly lights and paper pin wheel decorations that create an incredible impact!
You can string fairly lights, stars or even snowflakes and the finished effect is beautiful and magical.
So there you have it, a very simple guide to bring in that much needed Christmas spirit into your home. We hope you enjoy transporting your home into a Christmas wonderland. And when those Christmas decorations all come down in January and you start to think your home might need a refurb, then get in touch with us at: www.sadiepizzeyinteriors.com info@sadiepizzeyinteriors.com

21 MAR – 20 APR
Have you noticed all the creative opportunities in your life Aries?
Your artistic spirit is being lifted even higher during December and will see you creating more magic around you. You’re going through a bit of a transition in your life at the moment, suddenly shifting your mindset and realising that there’s more to life than you thought. This transition will be the change you need and will see you through to the next chapter of your life. Right now, you aren’t jumping up and down with joy and are more content with your life than anything else. Feeling content is good, as you are happy with the comfort level you have. By the end of the year, you’ll be feeling relaxed and ready for 2023!
21 APR – 20 MAY
Anxiety seems to be following you around Taurus and making life more stressful than it needs to be. Everything that you have been worrying about is justified, but don’t let it ruin your December. You must now establish some authority and set clear boundaries with the people in your life. The power is yours, so make sure to take back the control and push those anxious thoughts out of your brain. You are usually very emotionally balanced; therefore, it is time to get back to being that person. By the end of the year, you will remember your interests and will be passionately pursuing them. Don’t listen to what people are saying you should do, and instead follow your heart.
22
This is going to be a big month for you Gemini. Some serious good luck is attaching itself to you during December, which is going to transform your pleasant life into an amazing one. This isn’t the time to make any fast decisions, as the best thing for you to do right now is manifest the future that you want. Exhibit your wants and needs to the rest of the world by expressing what a fulfilled life means to you. It is also a good time to reflect and judge your life based on what you know now. Mars is coming through very strong, so make sure to assert yourself and take action to improve your life. Nothing can stop you Gemini!
December is likely to be a month of soul-searching for you Cancerian. Your psyche has gone through a bit of a tough time lately, and you may feel as if you have lost a part of yourself. However, there’s no need to fret, as once you understand yourself again on a deeper level, divine love is set to enter your life! This love will be like nothing you have ever felt and will lead you to unlock another part of yourself. Finally, as a natural-born leader, it is likely you will be taking charge at work or home and making sure that everything is working correctly. By the end of the year, you will be back to normal and enjoying what life has given you.
A new financial or career opportunity is making its way to you in December, Leo! However, planetary alignments are showing you need to take a step back and really think about your next step before jumping into a new job or commitment. Don’t let any regrets from your past keep you from taking the next step and pursuing what you really want to do. Leos are known to be warm, bright, and charismatic; meaning you are clearly meant to have a job that involves being the centre of attention and letting others know what you stand for. Finally, you must also tap into your inner strength and build yourself up from within. By the end of the year, your stamina will be better than ever, and you’ll be very busy.
Have you noticed how clear your mind has been lately Virgo?
Planetary alignments show your need to be nurtured, which is allowing you to let loose and focus on yourself for once. If there have been any conflicts in your life recently, know that they will soon pass, even though they were most likely necessary for personal growth. These fights needed to happen for you to see someone’s true colours and understand yourself better. Finally, towards the end of the month, you will approach a breakthrough and see things in a different light. By the new year, you will have advanced significantly in your life! December is going to be a month of transformation for you Virgo, even if it means going through a difficult time first.
24 SEPT – 23 OCT
Spiritual wisdom will be making its way towards you during December Libra, as you will be discovering new parts of yourself through methods that were once beyond your reach. Spirituality doesn’t necessarily mean religious; all it means is that you are connecting with something that feels bigger than yourself. In the physical realm, saving money is likely to be important this month, especially with the run-up to Christmas. When it comes to your friendships, work out if you can see any redeeming qualities in the people you were once close with and figure out if you can build a relationship again. Finally, don’t be afraid to tap into your feminine side during December. Whether you’re male or female, embrace the girl power all around you!
24 OCT – 22 NOV
December is going to bring lots of hard work for you Scorpio. You are going to be a rock for so many people, which means you are likely to find yourself carrying a lot of responsibilities, especially workwise. On the other hand, this month is going to bring lots of positivity into your life as you’re learning not to dwell on the negatives and instead focus on what is going well for you.
Planetary alignments show that you may need to take a break from work and create space for yourself to be taken care of for a change. Finally, towards the end of the year, your independence will be thriving, and you will be taking charge confidently. This will make you feel liberated and ready for 2023 to arrive!
23 NOV – 21 DEC
Happy birthday Sagittarius! Justice is your main theme for December, as you will be looking to get back what was taken from you. This isn’t a case of someone breaking the law; it is a situation where someone has messed with your emotions, and you must now find a way to piece yourself back together again. On the positive side of the month, lots of new opportunities are going to make their way to you, which will lead to you broadening your horizons like never before. With the Sun in your sign at the moment, you will be really working on your identity during the next few weeks, gaining more understanding of who you truly are at your core. Finally, if any financial loss has occurred lately, now is the time to get back on the horse and work hard.
22 DEC – 20
Congratulations Capricorn, as December is going to be a month of success for you! Pluto is coming through strong for you this month, which shows you stepping into your power and demanding what you deserve. Over Christmas, you are likely to find yourself nurturing the people around you and being a mother figure to those who need extra support. Maintaining your positive spirit is going to be important for you over the next few weeks, as even though situations may try to knock you down, you have enough self-worth to keep standing. Finally, you must remember to trust your intuition and only do what you know is right for you. You have fantastic insight, so make sure to use it the best you can.
21 JAN – 19 FEB
Are your teamwork skills where they should be Aquarius? This month is going to be focused on work for you, which is going to lead to multiple collaborations that you are going to have to stay on top of. Looking at your long-term view is the best way to spend your time during December, as the future that you had once planned for yourself is starting to change in your mind. Saturn is coming through strong for you at the moment, therefore it is important you stand your ground and establish authority in your workplace. Material and emotional wealth are your ultimate goals, and it is clear you are manifesting this in your everyday life. Remember, money is important, but you can’t buy happiness.
20 FEB – 20 MAR
Emotional wealth is where your head is at this month Pisces, as you are equally focusing on family and work. Moneywise, you are feeling confident in what you have, although you know that you could still do with a bit more. Trust that any illusions are going to present themselves soon, which will show you certain people’s true colours. With Jupiter in your sign right now, you are growing as a person and entering a new chapter of your life. Finally, don’t be afraid of your shadow self, as even though we all have good and bad sides to our personality, it is what we do with them that counts. You can’t have darkness without light; therefore, embrace both sides of yourself.
By Pia LouisaThis month’s oracle card is ‘Water’: a sign that December is likely to bring an overflow of emotion. This can be positive or negative, depending on what you have going on in your life at this moment. An abundance of possibilities lies ahead of you, and it can sometimes feel overwhelming knowing what to do. This card wants you to be in control of your own future but still go with the flow and see where life takes you. Allow Mother Nature to do her thing, and don’t say no too easily. Are you acting out of fear or love? If you are saying no to an opportunity based on fear, think again, as it may be exactly what you need. Make your decisions based on what you love, and never apologise for being yourself. This watery energy is going to serve you well in December.
Inspiration is likely to hit you at an unexpected time this month. Whether it be because of the Christmas magic is in the air, new ideas are going to pop into your head and lead you to make surprising creative decisions. Self-discovery is going to be an important theme for December, with you going outside of your comfort zone and gaining more knowledge on what you want your life to look like. It is good to remember that you have limitless potential, and you deserve even more than you realise. Your free spirit is pushing to be released, so make sure to satisfy your adventurous side by doing something a little scary but exciting during this month. There’s still so much for you to achieve by the end of the year!
As you also received this card last month, it’s clear that this situation hasn’t yet been resolved. Whatever regrets you are clinging to, let go of them. What you deem as ‘failures’ are actually just learning experiences that you had to go through in order to gain knowledge and wisdom. Even though you may feel disappointed about past decisions you have made, there is nothing you can do about them now, so it’s best to move on. Don’t live your life in the past, or in the future. You only have right now, so whether you feel sad about a previous experience, or nervous about a future one, focus on the present and you will find peace.
Finally, the Queen of Cups is showing your compassionate side coming through loud and clear! Not only are you caring for yourself during this time, but you are also caring for your loved ones in a way that you have never experienced. You are likely to be the most emotionally stable one in your friend group, which can sometimes make it difficult to take on everyone’s emotions. However, at the end of the day, you know you want to be there for the people you love, even if it can be exhausting from time to time.
