SELF PROMOTION This booklet will contain research I have gathered to inform my ideas for this module. Pages will consist of imagery I find both primary and secondary to create a mood-board of inspiration to help me progress through the design cycle. I have a link to my pinterest board where I have collated my secondary research. Here I’m looking at branding and promotion this will inform my Ideas for creating my logo and promotional material.

Clever images with double communication. - Initial based self promotion, Clever use of the typeface making the characters fit together.

- Interesting matchbox calendar could include a piece of my work as the images for each month. Like the idea of something useful but incorporates my work. - Using something that already exists and adapting it to self promotion idea like this arcade ticket roll out. - Cool laser cut box to package a business card could be a cool way to present a piece of self promotion. - Two examples of self brand marks, using initials and altering the type to communicate themselves.

- Wooden printed chip, something a bit different than a business card. - Self promo logo. I like the way they have shown how the logo has been developed by combining three separate images that represent the ethos of the company.

- Some hidden logo designs, using negative space and joining of the A’s and S’s to create initial logos.

Logo Book - Looking at how two characters can be linked together. Quite like the feel of “Morgan Road Books” Linking the M into a symbol. - Serif and script typefaces seem to allow an easy link up.

LOGO IDEA GENERATION & DEVELOPMENT Logo generational and development stage. Here I will be demonstrating my idea sketches and the development of them into a final logo. Then I will be showing how my logo will represent me in different mediums like a stationary.

- Sketching my initials out looking closely at the ‘A’ and the ‘S’. Looking at how the can connect together in a way that’s clever and hasn’t been done before. - I started by writing my name out then looking at capitals and lower case characters. - I explored san serif and serif options both I think would reflect me. I do feel that san serif will be more suitable for me.

- At the top I have explored the sketches digitally on illustrator using the tablet. - I also examined my name further looking at if there was some hidden meaning in my name. I had no look with that experiment.

- I also explored the name options to represent me. I have a few names I am known for, like sutty which has been my nickname my whole like.

- As I consider my self to be more professional I think my actually name will be the best option.

- I began to work with some of the logos from the previous page. I had a few options like the script initials. I also had more of a graphic option that shows different ways of the ‘A’ and ‘S’ interacting. - I then took them designs and experimented with how my name would work alongside the logo. I feel at this point in time I will have to settle on a logo so I can get on with my website. They dont work to well at the moment but they are still initial.

- I revisited my logo because I wasn’t happy with it, I thought it doesn’t represent me. So I produced these little Ideas based on previous sketches.

- I came across the really cool way of connecting the lowercase a and s. The form of the characters link together in a way that compliment each other.

- I then took this idea and experimented with the logo working with the rest of my name. Again it works really well.

- I experimented with different stroke edges which I think changes the feel of the logo. I think a more rounded edge is more appealing.

- I took that logo and tried it on a black background to see if it is just as effective.

- It does work really nicely kind of looks like a chain. - I am a bit worried about how long the logo us. I do have another idea I would like to mock up. This logo could be a back up or an alternative I could use for something else.

- I revisited a previous logo that I thought I could take forward. I like how it’s balanced within a square. The ‘A’ and the ‘S’ join together in a diamond shape. - I developed it further by increasing the stroke to a thicker width. It works on it’s own or with a background. - I like the emblem feel I can see it working across all things promotional.

- Final logo designs with the different options it can be in. - Colours can be changed in the future.

- I have uploaded the logo onto my blog and onto my twitter page.

- Business card concept. This is what I’d like my business card to look like. I also had a thought of creating a wooden business card like the one above. A little more interesting that the standard card, hopefully it could make a better impression. - Invoice for freelancing. - Letterheads/Emails.
