As I sit down to write this, I am filled with anticipation.

The promise of Spring, the warmer weather, Angela Veugeler daffodils, Editor-in-Chief dogwoods and pear trees blooming, the longer daylight hours… our family is definitely ready to spend more time outdoors!

It’s time to start thinking about summer plans, and we are excited to bring our readers Suwanee Magazine’s biggest Camp Guide yet! Personally, I have wonderful memories of summer camp, as both a camper and a counselor.

I really loved horses growing up and was fortunate to be able to attend a week-long, overnight horse camp when I was seven and eight years old.

My older cousin went there and had a great experience, and because it was a horse camp I was very excited about the idea. I will never forget the bond I made with the horses that I rode during camp. I loved getting to ride and be around horse’s daily, and practicing our drill for the show where my family would come watch at the end of the week.We would visit the general store and get to pick out sweet treats, swim, make crafts, star in a talent show and more.

Wanting to give other kids the same great memories I had, I later worked at an equestrian camp as a counselor. It was just as rewarding from a counselor’s perspective: seeing the campers make new friends, develop their riding skills, become brave and more independent while away from their parents, and most of all - having fun!

No matter what your child's interest is, our Camp Guide has something for them! Everything from sports camps to art camps, science camps to camps that offer adventure all day long. There are day and overnight camps that are sure to help your child learn new skills and give them memories that will last a lifetime.

GET The coming of Spring inYOUR Suwanee also brings the 5th annual Suwanee Beer Fest on March 14th, which has become a tradition for many. I have heard stories of Suwanee residents’ friends and families traveling from Texas, Illinois, Florida and even California to attend the Beer Fest.

It’s a celebration of craft beer, St. Patrick’s Day, music, food and the coming of warmer weather (if we are lucky!)

We hope you enjoy reading about the great things happening in and around Suwanee and get out and enjoy some of the upcoming events!

Now we’re sure that the good folks who sponsor this event are wonderful people, and we know that they donate a portion of the proceeds to Kingdom Kids, and that they help to gather folks from near and far for an afternoon of fun, festivity, and generous samplings of over 300 of the best beers known

to mankind right here in Suwanee... but they are not the first Beer Fest in Suwanee!

We, the SBA, really started this tradition – SIXTEEN YEARS AGO! If you ever attended an SBA meeting – you probably noticed that we too have shared a few beers with our local friends. A few brews... along with some wine, soda, water, great food, occasional live music, and a LOT of camaraderie – not to mention the ability to gain some additional business for our members! And we pretty much do it for FREE!

Now to us – who do this one evening EVERY MONTH – (not just a paltry one time a year) – this is a real “FEST”!

Those copycats who run the Suwanee Beer Fest should have learned something from us by now. Five years of running a one day event just ain’t gonna cut it in this town my friends! If you want to keep this town happy and growing you need to follow our lead and do this at least once a month. Sure, you guys may get over 5,000 attendees, and have lots of live entertainment, and lots of food vendors and a craft beer brewing contest, and a lot of beautiful people...

Aw heck – we know when we’ve been outdone. The only thing I can say is that if you haven’t been to the Suwanee Beer Fest you’re missing out on a great time, and if you haven’t been to an SBA event, ditto.

We may be smaller, we may not have all the glitz, we may be focused more on growing your business than tasting craft brews, but we’ve been around for a LONG time – so we must be doing something right too!

How has the U.S. stock market performed since the year 2000?

Answer:

The results are fascinating.

If we use the S&P 500 index, which is a broad measure of 500 large American corporations, we learn three important lessons about investing.

The first lesson

is that timing is critical but unpredictable. The first three years of the 21st century were an excellent example: 3 years of back to back double digit losses (-10.14%, -13.04%, and -23.37%). If you had invested on January 1, 2000, 3 years later you were down 45.55%. It took another 4 years to recover your original investment. After 7 years you were in the same position as when you started – except perhaps emotionally drained.

Five years of healthy gains (2003 – 2007) were followed by a stark reminder of why it is called “risk taking.” In 2008 the S&P 500 fell by 38.49%. This event was followed by the past 6 years of impressive gains. So taken as a whole how did it stack up? You would have earned an annual average rate of 4.37%, your overall account balance would have been “upside down” or negative 8 of the 14 years while positive 6 years, and you would have been on an exhilarating financial roller coaster ride.

Lesson two is that you must assess the amount of risk you are willing to assume against the potential rewards. Many investors feel that the 4.37% rate of return was not worth the time required to achieve it and the angst that was required to see it through.

Lesson three is that the stock market moves in both directions. The S&P 500 has been up dramatically for the past six consecutive years.

Owners Tom and Laura Vooris founded the company after using a similar service when Laura was pregnant with and after giving birth to triplets.

According to Tom, “Many times when our triplets were little, my wife just didn’t have the time for cooking (nor did she feel up to it). And obviously we couldn’t go out, so it worked out great.” The triplets are now in high school and that company hasn’t existed for quite some time, but the couple loved the idea and wanted to bring that option to Gwinnett County residents.

The process is simple:

I had walked about a half mile home after school one afternoon and climbed through one of the small windows beside the front door of our house. Once inside, I would keep things simple. Don’t turn on any burners and just play with some toys or watch an episode of “Leave it to Beaver” or “The Andy Griffith Show” until mom got home from work. I know, a five year old shouldn’t be looking after himself for a few hours until an adult gets home, but that’s what I had to do. At least, until I heard the knock at the door...

Spring is a time when the weather starts to get us back outside with all kinds of sports activities, festivals, and even camps leading up to the summer.

As a former Major League Baseball player, many people assume that I was able to develop my skills at camps in the spring or summer when I was a kid. That wasn’t the case. My family didn’t have the resources for me to do that. In fact, I can only remember having one brief batting lesson throughout my entire youth.

So where am I going with this? Well, as I often look back on my life and reflect on the journey, I can’t help but think of some of the key people that unselfishly and unknowingly helped me and my mom.

They were men and women in my neighborhood.

Some were my coaches and others were just parents of my friends. They invested in me during a time when it wasn’t assumed that every other kid in the neighborhood would get a college scholarship or become a professional athlete. They drove me to practice or brought me home. They took me out for pizza or let me sit at their dinner table and enjoy a meal with them when my mom had to work late.

Without these caring individuals and families, I probably would not be writing to you today. Things would have turned out much differently for me!

So here’s my point... Please take a careful look around you. Is there a young kid in your area who doesn’t have much opportunity or the resources to do things like sports camps or summer camps this year? Activities that perhaps your kids might take for granted, could be a life-changing experience for a kid who has no Dad, Mom, or support system.

Studies show that kids who go to camp build more self-confidence, gain healthy independence, and develop lifelong skills. Maybe you could just help a kid or family who truly can’t afford to play baseball or soccer this spring. Never underestimate how impactful it could be just to give a kid a ride to a practice or game that he wouldn’t be able to get there otherwise. Every little bit helps and together as a community… WE DO GOOD. Will you do me a favor? This is a popular time of year for making goals to lose weight, exercise more, and have a more organized house. Many people set these goals but forget to set a goal to address the most common problem of all—stress! We all have heard by now that excess stress comes with a variety of negative health consequences, but sometimes it can be hard to figure out how to get rid of it.

Here are five simple ways to “spring clean” stress for a simpler spring:

Breathe! It is so easy for us all to get caught up in our

busy daily schedules. Moving hectically from one activity to another can lead to high amounts of stress. Make a new routine of incorporating small breaks into your regular schedule and watch the difference it creates in you. Set aside five minutes to sit, breathe, and focus on yourself.

Find time to connect with others!

Take a step away from any electronics and spend time with your loved ones. Seeing someone you love can reduce cortisol levels (aka the stress hormone) almost instantly. Try out a new dinner recipe with family or friends. Play a new game! Go on a family hike.

Find a supportive person! Some people think that if you ignore stress that it will go away. Nothing could be further from the truth. Talking about stress can make it feel less overwhelming. Find a friend, family member, or a therapist to talk to about your stress. It may surprise you how quickly you feel better after talking.

Spring clean your schedule just like you would your house! Look at your schedule

to see what is fulfilling and what causes more stress. We throw away what we no longer need around the house, so why should we keep items on our schedule that are not useful anymore? Talk with your family and prioritize the activities that are enjoyable.

Make "you time!"

Treat yourself with the love and care you show others. Take that exercise class you have always wanted to take. Eat a favorite dessert. Go outside and breathe that beautiful spring air. Read a book. Laugh. Taking good care of yourself helps you to take better care of the loved ones around you.

pon arriving at Stepping Stone Montessori School (SSMS), a cheerful looking building surrounded by flowerpots and a white picket fence, you are greeted with a powerful statement that is sure to stop you in your tracks. Painted upon the wall in the front entrance are these words, “Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment.”

Stepping Stone Montessori School was founded in honor of Uday, brother of Co-Founder, Aparna Banka, who passed away from cancer at a very young age. “The family envisions SSMS as a way to spread quality education to children who are the soul and future of our community,” said Head of School, Mark

Berger. “Being able to successfully do this will keep Uday's name alive while doing good in our community.”

Maria Montessori was the first recognized Italian female doctor and scientist. She designed a school based on her knowledge of science and biology. By observing children as they grew and developed, she formed a curriculum based on the “planes of development.”

These planes of development are three-year spans from ages 3 6, 6 - 9, and 9 - 12. She believed learning is a process that should be individualized to each child.

The mixed age classrooms allow students to learn from one another and enables them to advance faster in certain subjects while spending extra time in others, based on their specific needs.

Mark Berger was applying for law schools when he first heard about Montessori from a friend who was a Montessori teacher. As he learned more about it, he was fascinated and decided to take the

training for himself. “The training was incredibly eyeopening,” he exclaimed. “I love how children are taught concepts and meaning, building blocks of understanding larger theories, instead of simply how to memorize a slew of facts to forget shortly after.”

Observing a typical class in session at SSMS, you will witness a flurry of activity, each child intent upon the unique lesson in front of them. Each classroom is equipped with concrete materials designed to encourage a hands-on experience that evokes a child’s curiosity to explore and learn. Not one child is idle or blankly staring at a chalkboard, rather they are engaged and actively participating in their learning. What’s more, they seem to be enjoying every minute of it.

“Children learn better in an enriched environment,” said Berger, “At Stepping Stone Montessori, we strive to provide children the tools they need to discover who they are.” Children are allowed the freedom of choosing their own activities and assignments each day. The instructor gives individualized lessons throughout the week and continually observes each student’s progression.

Every student keeps a work journal where they record their weekly accomplishments. At the end of the week the teacher and student meet to evaluate which areas they need to spend more time in and review their progress. This type of student/teacher interaction not only fosters self-discipline and independence but it allows the child to more honestly communicate their needs without fear of reprimand.

the Montessori name, there are many unauthentic “Montessori” schools out there. “At SSMS, we follow the teaching of the true and authentic Montessori way because the system works,” stated Berger. “ It’s simple. Modern science continues to support all of Maria Montessori’s findings, so why would we change a system that provides amazing results?”

Montessori, both the woman and the approach, have a fundamental respect for children. Out of this respect, and Maria Montessori’s research and observation, came a school that truly instills in children a passion for lifelong learning. ■

When Lucy Miller attended North Gwinnett High School last year she noticed an undeniable need for friendship, camaraderie and acceptance between the special needs community and her other classmates. With that, the inaugural “You are Loved” Valentine’s dance and a lasting legacy was born!

This year’s 2nd Annual “You Are Loved” event took place on Saturday, February 7th with over 250 students from local clubs, programs and schools including: North Gwinnett High School, Collins Hill, Lanier, Peachtree Ridge, Mill Creek, Duluth and even Decatur! The dance included a DJ, photo booth, candy bar, balloon artists and delicious refreshments provided by Zaxbys, Mellow Mushroom and several generous NGHS families.

When asked to recall some of her favorite moments from the evening, Miller remembered a young man who came in, very reserved and shy, Lucy Miller and Andrew Newsome but by the end of the dance he was smiling, laughing, dancing and “literally danced his way out the door…it summed up the evening!” she said.

A freshman at the University of Alabama, Miller dove headfirst into developing her career with a double Major in Special Education and Business, yet is still dedicated to donating time for the special needs students in her own hometown. She founded the non-profit organization called HappyFeat - whose mission is “to better the lives of our special needs friends and the communities they support through employment, education and entertainment opportunities.”

Some of Happy Feat’s events this year will include a “Come on and get Happy” Prom – held at Gwinnett Church in May, a “Happy Haunted House” for Halloween and their annual live nativity during the holidays. For more information or ways to be involved, please visit HappyFeat.org. ■

Greek Island Grill and Bar is a beautiful new restaurant in Suwanee that lies in stark contrast to the neon, Americanized, pseudo-Greek diners most of us are accustomed to. “From the outside, people don’t know what to expect,” admitted Bayer.

But, once they’re in, all preconceived notions vanish and they won’t want Greek done any other way.

Ozan Bayar is of Greek heritage but was born and raised in Turkey. Upon receiving a degree in Hotel Management in 2006, he moved to the US to pursue a career opportunity in that field. But, after years of managing large, well-known properties and restaurants, he decided it was time to “make something his own.” Coincidentally, around the same time, the perfect Lawrenceville-Suwanee location became available to him.

Living in Sandy Springs at the time, Bayar took it upon himself to explore and research the City of Suwanee. “I saw a lot of sports bars and a lot of Asian restaurants, but no Greek food,” he said.

“I got very excited about this location and about introducing my food and culture to the people of Eggplant Napoleon: Suwanee,” he Grilled Eggplant, Fire Roasted Peppers, Fresh Mozzarella, continued.

We will go to local specialty markets for Mediterranean herbs, spices and products that can’t be purchased elsewhere,” he continued. And, that caliber of quality is evident in their service as well. Greek Island’s open-kitchen floor plan allows customers to watch as chefs’ carefully prepare signature dishes, such as: chargrilled kebobs, gyros, sautéed shrimp, baked pita, saganaki (pan-seared greek cheese), babagonush, mousaka, falafels and more. A traditional, spinning, vertical grill cooks lamb and beef gyro meat to perfection, before it’s carved to order.

And, while tradition rings through every aspect of Greek Island Grill & Bar, they’re not afraid to add contemporary twists, such as a fully stocked bar that’s mixing up hand concocted libations like the “Spice Mist” – a specialty cocktail made with chilled

“What is the Next Big thing?”

That is the question everyone is asking these days in the wine business. The most recent trend to come and go was the “it’s okay to drink sweet” revolution focusing on Moscato, but more recently I have noticed a turn away from sweet towards fat, lush, fullbodied Red Blends. Some people give Napa Valley's Folie à Deux "Ménage à Trois” or Marietta Cellars “Old Vine Lot Series" credit for starting the blending phenomenon.

But, the truth is, Old World Europe may have started this blend trend in the mid 1970’s when irreverent Italian winemaker, Piero Antinori, broke the law and created a style we now know as “Super Tuscan” – a luscious Red Blend that often passes the $100/bottle threshold.

While blending is growing in popularity, most countries and specific regions, do regulate the grape varieties that winemakers are allowed to use. For instance, a true Bordeaux wine must be produced in the Bordeaux region of France and is limited to five grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petite Verdot. In the US, most Bordeaux-style wine consists of those time-tested five grape varieties, but often includes a little Syrah for bigger body.

The truth is, blending makes sense. Whether it’s an inexpensive, entry-level bottle or an elite Napa cult Cabernet setting you back a few hundred dollars, adding a second grape can add great complexity or improve the overall structure of the wine.

So, while the blend trend is nothing new, it certainly is gaining popularity lately! Think of a red blend as "the little black dress" of the wine world – a classic that you’ve gotta have in your {wine} closet! The way today’s winemakers are making blends gives a new twist on old ideas. With more and more people beginning to explore the world of wine, we can now all raise our glasses to The Next Big Thing and pour ourselves a glass of a lush, blended red. ■

and in Georgia, was a key component to the survival of our thirteen colonies.

Early colonists consumed beer for hydration. Since the water made everyone sick, low ABV beer was safe because it was boiled during the brewing process. In fact, colonists arriving to the New World were greeted with a deed to their land, a bag of tools and a barrel with 44 gallons of ale! It wasn’t until 1853, when Louis Pasteur discovered pasteurization, that people understood water needed to be boiled to be safe.

This is the first time that some of these local breweries will have their beers sold in The Fresh Market! The winning brewery, crowned “Brew Battle Champion” at Suwanee Beer Fest, will then receive a personal marketing display and increased inventory in all seven The Fresh Market locations following the event, for a minimum of one month.

“I’ve always been an advocate of businesses giving back to the communities in which they operate,” said Jim Healy, Store Manager of The Fresh Market in Suwanee. “Last year we introduced Jekyll Brewing as part of our support for Suwanee Beer Fest, and Hop Dang Diggity quickly became the number one beer at The Fresh Market in Suwanee, and sells very well in all the Atlanta stores,” Healy continued.

“We became much more focused on local products last year, after we saw the response from the community to local craft beers. Since then, we’ve brought many other local products to our store, and so far the response has been terrific,” said Healy. The whole idea of being an effective community member is rallying behind your neighbors, behind the businesses, products and causes that shape us.

winners successfully moving their beers out of their basements and into well-known, local, commercial breweries, the competitive spirit of Suwanee Beer Fest’s Home Brew Competition has heightened.

Over 100 of Metro Atlanta’s best home brewers submitted a total of 250 distinct homemade beers to contend for title of “Best in Show” this March. This BJCP (Beer Judge Certification Program) competition begins March 7th with 30-40 certified judges scoring the entries based on a specific criteria: mouthfeel, aroma, appearance, flavor and overall impression.

Each submitted beer is placed in a flight with 8-10 other competitors of the same beer category. The winner of each flight will then move on to the final judging for “Best in Show” at Suwanee Beer Fest on March 14, 2015.

Bob Carlton, Owner of Brew Depot in Alpharetta, is in his 4th year of organizing and planning Suwanee Beer Fest’s BJCP-certified home brew contest and has not only seen a spike in participation, but a spike in overall quality of entries over the years. The 2014 “Best in Show” winner was Paul Bushell with a delicious Barleywine.

And, some might recognize the name of 2013’s “Best in Show” winner, Josh Rachel, who went on to become Master Brewer at Jekyll Brewing in Alpharetta.

Still though, “I have never given a 50,” Carlton said, referring to the 70

maximum number of points a single beer can receive in a BJCP competition. “But, I have never received a 50 myself either,” he confessed. “And I’ve been brewing beer for over twenty years…long before the Internet was even around,” he continued, poking fun at his not-so-old age.

But, while the Internet may help a novice home brewer learn a few tips and tricks, there is no better way than by hands-on experience. And, that is precisely why Carlton founded his brewing equipment store - Brew Depot, and why Master Brewers from some of Georgia’s favorite watering holes attribute their fundamental skills and knowledge to Bob Carlton and Brew Depot’s classes. “If you go back and look at the home brew community, I’d say 98% of all brewers today were home brewers first,” he said. Brewing begins as a hobby and only sometimes develops into a business opportunity.

Some of Carlton’s clients have successfully taken that commercialbrewing leap…you may have heard of them! Jekyll Brewing, Monday Night Brewing, Three Taverns, Blue Tarp, Red Hare, Cherry Street and Wrecking Bar all have a history with Carlton and Brew Depot. And, before they became some of the best breweries in Metro Atlanta, they too competed in local home brew competitions – several as veterans of the Suwanee Beer Fest Home Brew Contest. But, how did these now wellknown brewers get started? Well, just like anybody else: with a passion for craft beer and a curiosity for brewing their own. ■

There is a story behind every craft beer, but you don’t have to open a book to read about it. The story is on the bottle itself; The Beer Label. Like all stories, you have an author, “the brewer”, someone who has a story to tell, and then you have the artist, “the graphic designer”, someone who designs the book cover for your story. Over the years the craft beer label has also become more than just about telling a story, it has evolved into a piece of art and many craft beer lovers have become avid “art collectors”. Instead of throwing away the bottle many keep them purely based on the look and design of the label and even display it in their homes.

Even though a brewer hires a designer for the label design, their professions have a lot in common.

In fact, a craft beer and graphic design go hand in hand. A graphic designer puts just as much detail, craftsmanship and creativity into a design as a brewer puts into his beer.

From a simple typography layout to a very detailed painterly illustration, so much goes into the design of a beer label. A designer will do research and spend hours sketching and coming up with a concept that will fit what the brewer is looking for in a label that also fits his brand. The design in some shape or fashion must also communicate the style and attitude of the beer itself.

The designer takes into consideration not only the quality of the ingredients, but the story the brewer wants to tell with his beer. Whether that story is about fantasy, history or even science fiction it can be told through the art/design on the label. In turn, that design helps in the marketing of the product.

With increased competition between brewers, it has become even more important for the design to stand out on the shelf among the other packaging. This is called shelf appeal; when a product’s packaging is very successful and draws the consumer in solely based on the merit of its design.

It’s these innovative label designs that are also helping a craft brewery go up against larger beer corporations.

So when picking out your next craft brew, keep in mind why you are selecting it. Is it the taste of your favorite beer?

Or is it really the unique illustration on the packaging, the feeling you get when you look at the label or the story that is being told? ■

Critter Sitters celebrates forty years serving local pets

Suwanee Fest logo design contest Create the winning logo for the 2015 Suwanee Fest and earn $500.

The winning 2015 Suwanee Fest logo will be used on official festival t-shirts and marketing posters.

The theme for the 2015 festival, to be celebrated September 19 and 20, is “For the love of Suwanee.� Suwanee Fest is the

City of Suwanee’s annual two-day fall celebration. The award-winning festival includes arts and crafts exhibitors, children's rides and activities, and on-stage entertainment. City of Suwanee Downtown Master Plans revealed

The City of Suwanee will officially kick off its second update to the Downtown Master Plan at a community meeting at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 5th. The update will include a market analysis, design charrette for targeted areas, and other opportunities for public input and is intended to determine the kinds of development that will be appropriate for downtown. Planning Director, Josh Campbell says, "We're looking forward to broadly programming additional pedestrian-oriented, mixed uses in the area while respecting the character of what we already have." In addition to considering specific development opportunities in the downtown area, the plan will focus on transportation, open space, and connectivity. The area in study covers Town Center and Old Town Suwanee and includes the entire Downtown Development Authority area. GA-PCOM Student to Bike Ride across the Country to Benefit People with Disabilities Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine bio-medical sciences graduate student, Matthew Mozzo, is preparing for a 4,000 mile cross-country cycling expedition. This two-month bike-riding event called the Journey of Hope raises funds and awareness to support people with mental and physical disabilities. The Journey of Hope was started in 1987 through the Ability Experience, a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1977 as the national philanthropy of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.

The ride has three different 4,000 mile cross-country routes beginning along the West Coast in San Francisco (North), Los Angeles (South), and Seattle (TransAmerica) respectively, and ending with each team on the Capitol Lawn in Washington, D.C. This year, three teams of 25-30 cyclists and about five crew members each will start their trip at the end of May and finish on August 8, 2015. The teams will make multiple stops along the way with organizations that assist people with disabilities, playing in games of wheelchair basketball, performing educational puppet shows for children, and participating in various outreach events. Each participant must raise a minimum of $5,500 before the start of the summer. As of this month, Mozzo has raised a little over $3,100.

With the money that is raised, grants are awarded to organizations serving people living with disabilities. The organizations are able to use the funds to help improve their facilities and maintain programs vital to their communities. by individual donations, aims to provide a full range of transition services to Special Operation Forces (SOF) veterans and their families, through executive level mentoring, transition services and family stabilization support.

According to a recent article on the organization in Stars & Stripes, many veterans in this highly skilled, elite group (made up of Green Berets, SEALS, and Rangers) have served four and five tours or more in the most hostile places in the world and come home to no Department of Veterans Affairs program designed to suit their specific needs. Your Grateful Nation offers an intense four-part employment transition service designed to successfully turn combat leaders into corporate leaders. The fundraiser tournament will include a color guard presentation and opportunity to learn more about the organization that supports these veteran heroes. Security will be present.

The general public is welcome, but there is a suggested donation of $40 in advance and $50 at the door. Suggested donation for players is $75 in advance and $100 at the door. 12 runners run 911 miles from New York City to Atlanta to fund SHARE Program Did you know that nearly 300,000 Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans need treatment for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)? Most do not. So, a group of active and retired military members, called the Shepherd's Men, are doing something about it!

Shepherd Center in Atlanta has a program called SHARE that offers comprehensive rehabilitation and treatment programs for service men and women suffering from TBI and PTSD. To help Shepherd Center raise much-needed funds for their SHARE Military Initiative, 12 runners are taking one week to run from New York City (Ground Zero) to Atlanta (Shepherd Center) during the month of April. Their goal is to raise $250K for the SHARE program. This amount will cover program costs for a few months and more importantly, allow them to accept more clients this year.
